The smooth stone in your hand is a bit warm to the touch. You chant slowly, attempting to coerce a secret or two from the item, but oddly, all you hear is laughter.

You try humming instead, and the laughter filling the air only becomes louder. You do see something though, what looks like a Halfling with his back turned to you.

You switch from humming to whistling, and now you can see the Halfling from a new vantage. He is sitting cross-legged on a soft blanket, two small piles of stones in front of him.

You stop whistling, and simply sing. The Halfling smiles at you, and winks. He points to one of the piles and grins. "Magic", he says. He points to the other pile and says, "No magic." He laughs and fades away.
