Dwarven Armorsmith

The dwarven armorsmith wears a thick grey tunic and matching gloves. His eyes are completely covered by thick black hair and you wonder how he manages to see at all.

Delicately, the dwarven armorsmith balances a helm on the head of an armor stand, completing the suit.

Grinning, the dwarven armorsmith burnishes a shield. "Ye could use this fer a shavin' mirror!" he boasts, then rubs his beard. "Dunno why ye'd want to, though."

"Make sure ta replace the pads in yer helm after a while," the dwarven armorsmith advises. "Ya get knocked in the noggin, ya ring like a bell fer a week ifn ya don't!"

The dwarven armorsmith begins tooling a suit of light leather armor with great precision. "It's fer me niece," he explains proudly.

The dwarven armorsmith carefully attaches buckles to some arm greaves, then tests the strength of the straps with a tug.

The dwarven armorsmith sits on a stool behind the counter, then takes up a long swath of chainmail and begins adding links from a small bucket next to the chair.

Using a small hammer, the dwarven armorsmith adds shiny studs to some leather armor.

With a heavy awl and leather strips, the dwarven armorsmith begins attaching rings to a leather coat.

"Ya gots ta be careful ta oil yer chain," the dwarven armorsmith says sagely, "'specially this close to the sea." He sets a completely rusted chain shirt up on the counter. "We call this here the Rust Beast. Never seen an oil can in all its days." He cackles. "Ya wants ta buy it, I'll give ye a discount!"

Your eyes are drawn to a steel breastplate with a huge hole in the center of it. "That there took a crossbow bolt full on, and he what wore it lived ta tell," the dwarven armorsmith says. "Good workmanship in me armor!"
