The katana is a medium-length sword with a deadly sharp edge and finely honed balance. It is a unique hybrid weapon that has natural heavy critical weighting and can be switched between two-handed and one-handed use. Only two-handed weapon skill is required to use a katana in both hands. However, to use a katana effectively with one hand requires both two-handed and edged weapon skills (see the GRIP (verb) for switching from two-handed to one-handed use).
