Tendrils of darkness and unearthly crimson energy have splayed across the night sky, shades of tentacles that lash at the moons and draw from the depths of nightmares creatures that sow chaos and breed maleficence. |

Along with them came a man in crimson robes who called himself Rinid, a seeming convert of Amasalen. He offered proclamations of devastation and ruin, blood that will wash the moons and earth alike, forever changing the face of Elanthia. In his wake followed the most unlikely of allies: Zicune, devotee of Zelia, Sathyra, an agent of Andelas, and Ivaleina, a priestess of Aeia. Together, they aided those who answered the call to thwart Rinid, and discovered a temple buried deep in forgotten forests. |

Wielding a trio of moonstone artifacts, they were able to weaken Rinid and slay him before his ritual could be completed. However, with so much of his design left a mystery, their efforts to undo what he had done proved only partially successful. While the tainted and undead were laid to rest and the moons still hung like silent watchers in the night sky, the magics summoned and bent by Rinid remained scarred by what was done, forever altering the natural and spiritual energies of Elanthia. |

A shallow reservoir imbedded in the stonework floor receives incoming currents of crimson and silvery white energies, which clash as they converge, and a pair of narrower glass channels feed outward to the walls where they climb. The air wavers as the comingling energies condense into copper arcs that surge through the wall-inlaid channels. | |

Washing the chamber in golden light, coppery energy courses through twin glass channels inlaid in the stonework, breaking right and left at the end of the passage. The energy feeds into orbs nestled into depressions centered on the walls -- with a tempestuous orb of fiery hues on one side and an irregularly shaped mass on the other, more ovoid in shape. Light seeps from the fiery orb, while the dark mass absorbs the energy it's fed, swallowing illumination and shedding none of its own. You also see a mystical font of golden energy. | |

Nearly the whole of the ceiling has collapsed in this section of the hallway, leaving shattered stone debris scattered in fragments both large and small over the immediate area. In the cracks between the piles of rubble and from beneath the thick coating of dust, a thin thread of silvery white illumination flickers within a glass channel inlaid into the stonework of the floor. It's barely enough to light the way forward. | |

Heavy gouges score the walls on either side of the hall, leaving ragged gashes and craters where chunks of stone have been torn away. Judging purely by the coloration and lack of mossy growth, many of these wounds are recent, and their carnage remains exactly where it fell. Pale light from the glass channel in the floor pulses insistently, flashing off bits of glossy material imbedded into the stone walls and discarded among the rubble. | |

This chamber vibrates with a lulling thrum of energy, conveyed underfoot through the glass channel and to a rippling silver white orb cradled in a shallow depression in the floor. Its surface is glassy, appearing smooth, though its contents swirl in pearlescent jets and eddies that never still or rest as they are steadily fed by the currents of energy conveyed by the glass channel. You also see a mystical font of white energy. | |
