The Quee Potato was part of the September 2023 GIFTBOX released by GM Wyrom. When first acquired, it was just a simple potato and required a variety of interactions to progress its state. This series of progressions was an intentional mystery until players discovered its secrets. It is possible to get a different outcome by permanently destroying the potato after acquiring it and before finishing its first progression phase.

Additional Information

Appearance

Quee Potatoes can have several components of their base and long description modified via APPROVE, ATTEND, and ROLL.

APPROVE identifies which description parts, if any, can be changed. This setting cycles between three options:

  • Not change descriptions: Prevents ATTEND from changing anything. If your potato is not changing descriptions, try APPROVEing it and try again.
  • Only change the base descriptions: Only the 15/15/15.
  • Change the base and long descriptions: Both the 15/15/15 and the portion that comes after it.

ATTEND cycles through options for what is shown in the long description. Examples include:

  • Costume: an oblong sentient potato wearing a wire-legged gangly sable spider costume
  • Last fed: an oblong sentient potato sprouting a bright red teaberry

ROLL changes the connector for the sprout, with options including: connected to, blossoming, paired with, fused with, joined with, topped with, bound with, sprouting a, vegetating a, capped with, growing a, flourishing a, and coupled with.

Quee Potatoes have a hard-coded LOOK/SHOW description:

The potato appears to be alive, having two eyes and a mouth on its bumpy little body. Its skin taking on a golden hue and it appears it was last fed a wild strawberry. The potato has been infused five times and looks overjoyed. It looks parched. It looks famished. It looks bored. Quee has awarded you 6,500 experience over the course of your friendship. It is wearing a suede-winged vampire bat costume.
