Reflecting the influence of the sea upon the local culture, the graceful sweep of the circular stairway is reminiscent of the interior of a nautilus shell. A velvet rope barrier blocks passage up the stairway. It is possible that up the stairs, scribes study and record information for possible future exhibits for the River's Rest Museum.
