The Boar Hunt Tapestry
This tapestry, depicting a boar hunt, hangs in the North exhibit room of the River's Rest Museum. Taking a closer look, visitors will discover that though the tapestry had faded, it is still a facinating glimpse into the past.
A closer look
The tapestry, faded with age, is cleverly woven to depict a realistic hunting scene. A female warrior leads a group of grim-faced hunters on foot in chase of a pair of monstrously large boars. The long spears of the hunters are held out determinedly in front of them. One of the boars has turned to stand at bay, its snout lowered and its tusks bloody from some earlier encounter.
