The javelin is a lightweight throwing weapon that resembles a pike, however it tends to be a bit shorter. It is wielded one-handed and has damage potential equal to that of the spear when used as a melee weapon. Since many attacks result in puncture critical damage it is a less effective weapon choice when engaging puncture resistant targets.
Note: The official documentation incorrectly lists the javelin as a polearm weapon.

Game Mechanics
Use:
- One-handed with the HURL verb when used as a throwing weapon.
- Acts as a spear when used in melee combat and requires Polearm weapons training to be effective.
