The Taxidermy Specimen is a fluff script that applies to miscellaneous items. It was originally released at Ebon Gate 2025. Items with this script can be PUT on the ground for a limited duration, during which other players and the janitor cannot pick them up. Created with a Taxidermy Kit. Specimens can be PLACEd as room props, and larger specimens fold into a display case while carried.
Analyze
--Taxidermy Specimen--
This is a taxidermied specimen created by a player! If the specimen is large enough, it will be in a case while in-hand and will only show the full description when it is PLACEd in a room as a prop.
==Alteration Guidelines==
* The 15/15/15, long, and show description of this taxidermy specimen can be changed freely.
* The 15/15/15, long, and show description of the "case" side for larger specimens can also be changed. It MUST remain a "display case" but can otherwise be customized.
* Smaller specimens can have a case description added and then they, too, will have a case.
* Applicable specimen sizes are: small, medium, large, and massive. Large full body/skeleton specimens or any massive-sized specimen MUST have a case.
* The specimens must either be: a full body taxidermy, a taxidermied head, prepared skull, or articulated full skeleton.
==Usage==
* Verbs: POINT, PONDER, DANCE, KISS, SALUTE.
NOTE: Some verbs only work on specimens when on the ground and ALL verbs will only work if the specimen is assembled outside of a case.
Use PLACE or NUDGE to set the specimen up as a prop in the room.
==Current Settings==
* Case: None
* Specimen: a feathery taxidermied daggerbeak with keen mottled gold granite eyes
* Type: Full Body
* Size: Medium
Usage Information
Taxidermy specimens are made with a Taxidermy Kit from a stored creature remnant. There are four types: full body, head, skeleton, and skull. Skeletons and skulls require the kit's skeleton/skull unlock, and full body specimens of large or massive creatures require the kit's massive unlock.
Specimens have the Stay Put feature. PLACE sets the specimen on the ground for 4 hours without anyone else being able to pick it up, and NUDGE sets it on top of a furniture item. In a private property, loft, or stall you own, it stays until you PLACE it again.
The verbs below do not work while the specimen is folded into a display case. POINT only works when the specimen is in the room, and SALUTE only works when it is held. The examples use a feathery taxidermied daggerbeak with keen mottled gold granite eyes.

Additional Information
Sizes and Display Cases
Each specimen has a size based on the creature: small, medium, large, or massive. Larger specimens are stored in a display case while carried, named after the creature (ex. a lion-carved display case). PLACE unfolds the case and assembles the specimen in the room, and PLACE again folds it back into the case. Display cases cannot be NUDGEd onto furniture if they hold a large or massive full body/skeleton or a massive head/skull.
Specimen type Display case when... Full body Large or massive Skeleton Large or massive Head Massive Skull Massive
