Crafter's Tomes and Crafter's Monocoles were released during Duskruin's August 2023 run in Tome Raiders. The tomes were designed and coded by GM Ethereal. They are designed to help characters boost their profession service skills (Enchanting, Ensorcelling, etc.) by providing temporary boosts to the relevant stats base and skills bonus when performing the skill. The boosts apply ONLY to professional services.
All verbs are unlocked at Tier 1. Each tier allows for the user to increase their affinity with the tome, which increases the bonuses it provides. Crafter's Tomes and Monocles do not stack with one another. Each provides slightly different verb traps, with Monocles released as head-worn and Tomes only able to be held in a hand, but otherwise the two function identically. Monocles were introduced to allow warriors and monks to benefit because their professional services require both hands to be available.

OVERVIEW
Hello there, intrepid adventurer! This vellum tome is a Crafter's Tome item. These items provide a bonus to service skills when activated, based on tier and affinity. When doing a test cast, a suffusion estimate, or applying a service, this tome wll grant you temporary bonuses to skills to maximize your chance of success.
HOW DOES IT WORK
First, you must claim the book as your own. By INFUSE'ing resources into the tome, you will bind the tome to yourself and begin to improve your affinity. Moving to affinity levels 1-4 requires 5k, 10k, 15k, and 20k resources, respectively. Additionally, binding this tome to you will start a 30 day timer before it can be bound to another. Once bound, the tome will only respond to you and only you will understand its secrets.
This item is set up as a tome and has access to the following verbs: INFUSE (set ownership, gain affinity), TEAR (reset ownership), OPEN (fluff), CLOSE (fluff), and READ (fluff, sense affinity). When it is held, it will provide temporary enhancives to your base stats and skill bonuses that will fade immediately once a service has been performed.
This vellum tome is currently tier 1 of 4. Its current level of affinity with its owner is 0 of 1.
Bonuses
Bonuses are as follows. Stats are expressed as a bonus to the base while skills are expressed as a bonus to the skill.
Tier 1
Cleric: +5 Wisdom and Influence per affinity level. +5 Magic Item Use and Arcane Symbols plus +5 per affinity level.
Wizard: +5 Logic and Intuition per affinity level. +5 Magic Item Use and Arcane Symbols plus +5 per affinity level.
Sorcerer: +5 Wisdom and Intuition per affinity level. +5 Magic Item Use and Arcane Symbols plus +5 per affinity level.
Monk: +5 Dexterity and Discipline per affinity level. +5 First Aid and Arcane Symbols plus +5 per affinity level.
Ranger: +5 Wisdom and Intuition per affinity level. +5 Magic Item Use plus +5 per affinity level.
Bard: +5 Intuition and Influence per affinity level.
Warrior: +5 Strength and Discipline per affinity level. +5 Physical Fitness plus +5 per affinity level.
Tier 2
Monk: +5 Physical Fitness per affinity above 1.
Ranger: +5 Harness Power per affinity above 1.
Warrior: +2 primary, secondary, and tertiary weapon skill squared by affinity above 1.
Tier 4
Cleric: +5 Spell Ranks and Spiritual Mana Control per affinity above 3.
Wizard: +5 Spell Ranks and Elemental Mana Control per affinity above 3.
Sorcerer: +5 Spell Ranks, Elemental Mana Control, and Spiritual Mana Control per affinity above 3.
Monk: +5 Mental Mana Control, Spiritual Mana Control, ML: Transformation, and ML: Telepathy per affinity above 3.
Ranger: +5 Spell Ranks, Survival, Spiritual Mana Control, and SL: Blessings per affinity above 3.
Bard: +5 Spell Ranks, Elemental and Mental Mana Control, and Magic Item Use per affinity above 3.
Warrior: +5 Armor Use and Shield Use per affinity above 3.
ALTERING
This item may be freely altered but must remain consistent with being a tome. Any willing merchant may customize the flare/lense color (Currently cerulean). Affinity
