HI!
Private workshops are best, but are only of benefit to their owners and useless to anyone else (i.e. not a workshop for non-owners.)
Guild and CHE workshops are the next best, and are equally great.
Public workshops are least great, but still great.

The sense messaging for mana pool stuff is a relic of the old enchanting system, and actually doesn't mean anything anymore in terms of Enchanting or anything else.
The presence of a mana pool DOES, however, indicate that a room is an enchanting workshop.

>Around the time that imbed got hosed, a few GMs posted you got bonuses for doing work in workshops, and I believe they gave a hierarchy. This may be what you're thinking of. - Dgry
Yes, it was in reference to imbedding. This may also be the same bonus structure for enchanting, but I don't recall Naos confirming or even commenting on it.
Level of Character
Level of Spell
Number of Charges
Material of Item
Being in a workshop provides a bonus to imbedding.
That's it. Period. Nothing else has anything to do with imbedding. Additionally , the tiers of workshop , top to bottom , are as follows : private, guild / che , public.
The material modifier can only help imbedding chances, and never harm them. The only materials that are currently considered by imbedding are mithril, ora, imflass, and vultite. Anything else is 'normal'. I'll let you experiment to figure out how these materials effect changes in imbedding success rate.
Ranger imbued items are no better or worse (mana capacity aside) from other items. The type, form, shape, color, size or the item doesn't make any difference. - NAOSMark

Subject: Magical Workshops in Sorcerer Guilds
The magical workshops in most Sorcerer guilds (all except Zul Logoth and Ta'Vaalor) are now functioning as magical workshops such that they now will provide bonuses to appropriate spells, such as Scroll Infusion (714).

>>Good add, team! One more standing ask closed and in good fashion. :) Quick question -- Zul and TV left out intentionally (because of nasty sorc feelings) or in process but delayed due to challenges?
None of the existing rooms were obvious candidates for magical workshops like the other guilds had. The town gurus have been notified and they may add a room to their guilds in the future.
