Representing Zul Logoth: Jeweled Caverns
Originally posted in the Briarmoon Cove official folder.
Garli will travel to Briarmoon Cove to share her finest wares all the way from Zul Logoth - gleaming jewels and jewelry to place them in! There will be a variety of items suitable for these jewels - rings, bracelets, anklets, pendants (sorry, no pinworns) - a wide selection to choose from. Off-the-shelf jewelry has one indentation available for a jewel. Jewels for the jewelry will not be sold off-the-shelf, but instead, there will be piles available to "grab" (buy) a random jewel. These "grabs" are randomized from all stats and skill ranks. The main (and least expensive) pile will be completely random. The other two piles are separated into magic/combat and utility. If you purchase a jewel from one of these two (more expensive) piles, you will only receive a jewel for a random trained skill - or, a stat. Jewels purchased from the more expensive piles are attuned, and jewels purchased from the main random pile are not. Attuned jewels that are placed into a jewelry item will convert the jewelry to an attuned status. Jewels can be removed from the jewelry so that you can change them out, but there's a very small chance - upon any jewel removal - that the jewel will shatter. Garli will be unlocking a limited number of jewelry items to Tier 2, and raffling a few Tier 3 jewelry pieces. Tier 3 raffles will be for new items, and upgrades for previous unlocks (to T3) will not be available at this festival. >buy cushion You pass your promissory note to a dwarven clerk who makes a few notations on the note and returns it promptly with a grunt. You reach into the black velvet cushion and pull out a square white jewel. >analyze my jewel The creator has also provided the following information: This square white jewel is from the jewel piles originally seen at Briarmoon Cove 2016, and cannot be altered in any way. It can be placed inside one of the jewelry items from Jeweled Caverns. These can be identified by the merchant Garli's craft mark. This jewel, when placed into an appropriate jewelry item, will provide a bonus of 1 to Sorcerous Lore - Demonology Ranks. >glance You glance down to see a square white jewel in your right hand and a silver herringbone ring in your left hand. G>analyze my ring The creator has also provided the following information: Originally seen at Briarmoon Cove 2016, this ring may be altered but must remain a jewelry item with a flat surface. This item is currently Tier 1 of 3 tiers. (Number of jewel slots = tier.) Only Garli (or an approved merchant) may work on this ring, and further upgrades will be limited in scope. Current verbs: CLEAN (clear charges), PULL (remove jewel), RUB (select active jewel for removal). If you are holding a suitable jewel, you can PUSH JEWEL to insert it into an available indentation on the ring. Caution: There is a very small chance that the jewel will shatter when removed from the jewelry. Only one jewelry item of this script may be worn at the same time. On the initial jewelry purchase, it will be charged for your first jewel insertion. After that, you will need to remove the charges before you can swap out jewels. Jewelry (with jewels) can be recharged at the Adventurer's Guild. >look my ring There is no jewel set into the silver ring's indentation. >push my jewel You place the square white jewel over a shallow indentation on the silver ring and push down with your fingertip. The jewel clicks firmly into place. >look my ring Seated firmly into the silver ring you see a square white jewel. More teasers coming soon! Start planning early! Please note: While similar in nature, this is not fusion. It is a completely different item and functions solely within its own script. ~ Haliste ~ The Forest Gnome of Silverwood Manor ASGM, World Development
A mist-enshrouded trail
Originally posted in the Briarmoon Cove Official Folder
A mist-enshrouded trail appeared near Tilaok Terrace in the small coastal town. Speculations quickly traveled among residents as to the portal's origins, but none would give a definitive answer. Some say it must have been brought by the Chronomages, strategically planted to further their ongoing research into the mysteries of time travel. Others say the portal leads to an unchartered area of Elanthia known as Kotwynn Forest. No one knows for sure, but rumors have begun circulating in anticipation of the upcoming festival that will soon fill the streets and markets of Briarmoon Cove with adventurers from all over. A representative from Briarmoon Cove recently sent a statement to town leaders, "Our initial investigations have shown this area to be safe, but further analysis is necessary before we can give additional information. As soon as our scouts return from the most recent expedition, we will report our findings post haste. We are confident that this portal is of a friendly nature." ~ Haliste ~ The Forest Gnome of Silverwood Manor ASGM, World Development

Who remembers Zork? Did you ever play it? Did you like it? Well, regardless... if you like mini-quests, hopefully you'll love this. Make your way through the forest and find all the items lost by a weary traveler. As a reward for completing this task successfully, you'll gain access to "Backwoods". This tucked-away shop has exclusive rights to Forest Armor. What is that, you say? I'll post more on this soon. ~ Haliste ~ The Forest Gnome of Silverwood Manor ASGM, World Development

Okay, so maybe not grues! Deep within Kotwynn Forest lies a shop by the name of Backwoods. It was recently discovered by Briarmoon Cove residents who happened upon a mist-enshrouded trail that had mysteriously appeared within Tilaok Terrace. A few brave adventurers ventured down the trail, and it was weeks before they returned. However, details of the shop sparked interest within the coastal town. They hope to return once the festival is underway. Forest Armor is a new armor script making its debut at Briarmoon Cove. It's (currently) only available from Backwoods. This is a tiered armor script, and all armor types are available in the shop. What does it do? That's a good question! I'll try to summarize for you. The armor has been touched by Imaera, herself, and will call upon the powers of the forest for the wearer! There are 4 tiers; each tier carries both an enhancive benefit (ranks), as well as a special combat ability; Subsequent tiers add that respective tier's benefits to the armor. The benefits are as follows: Tier 1 (off-the-shelf) +1 perception Wind Gust - lowers creature DS Tier 2 +1 Stalking and Hiding Leaf Swirl - increases player AS Tier 3 +1 Survival Mud Sling - decreases creature AS Tier 4 +1 Climbing Woodland Empathy - increases player AS/CS The values for the special abilities is random, between 3 and 5, and its duration is random. Firing chances on the special abilities increases with each tier, as well. Limited unlocks for the armor will be offered at the festival. It's quite zesty, and it doesn't work in water. The best part? Forest gnomes (!!) will get +1 to any of the above values. ~ Haliste ~ The Forest Gnome of Silverwood Manor ASGM, World Development
Additional updates concerning Forest Armor on the Officials.
>Does the windy gust mitigate his stench, or does it help spread his.... flavor? Maybe a little of both? >What causes the chance for the special abilities to fire? Combat. >Will this script be added to existing armor? Perhaps at some point in the future -- but for right now, it's a new release, so I won't be adding this to existing armor. I will look into this for later, though! For some additional forest goodness, here's some messaging for you: Armor is activated by RUB -- it must be active in order to fire (or have a chance to fire) in combat. If you go inside, it's going to deactivate. You must be outside, and not in water, for it to work. >rub my mail You take a cursory appraisal of the ground at your feet and pick out a few random leaves and twigs. Along with a handful of mud smeared across your mithril chain mail, you paste the bits and pieces in place. Leaf Swirl - Diamond-shaped leaves sprout from your mithril chain mail and begin to swirl, obscuring your form! - The leaves swirling around your form are blown away by an errant breeze. Wind Gust - A spiraling funnel of air bursts from your mithril chain mail toward a forest troll, knocking it off-balance! - The air spiraling around a forest troll dies down. Mud Sling - A thick clump of mud catapults from your mithril chain mail and lands on a forest troll! - The clumps of mud clinging to a forest troll dry up and fall to the ground. Woodland Empathy - Your mithril chain mail glows a bright viridian hue, and you suddenly have a clearer understanding of nature! - The bright viridian hue surrounding your mail fades. ~ Haliste ~ The Forest Gnome of Silverwood Manor ASGM, World Development

A Letter From The Mayor of Briarmoon Cove
Originally posted in the Briarmoon Cove Official Folder
Prospective Attendees, At the frigid and blustery mouth of the Olbin River lies our beautiful port city of Briarmoon Cove, cozily nestled among snow-covered craggy cliffs and deep caverns. While easily reached by traders and merchants arriving from the sea, those approaching from the inland trails are met with unforgiving environmental hazards and a harsh, nearly inaccessible terrain, making travel to this area largely unpleasant. Briarmoon Cove has remained a mostly secluded haven for seafaring traders and merchants because of such limited land access... until now! The Chronomages, having become increasingly interested in merchant trade opportunities within Elanthia, have invested significant efforts and research in devising alternative methods to expand their reaches in goods transportation. Olthos Demache, a Chronomage well-known for his diverse knowledge of time travel and obscure methods to overcome restrictive challenges, sent a brief missive explaining their interest in the aggregation. "The limitations of terrain and weather severely inhibit the ability to move goods from one town to another, resulting in lost income for that town and its merchants. With our assistance, towns may be eligible to experience and benefit from a vast new system, which we are promoting and scouting for here at Briarmoon Cove. We want to keep our eye on potential locations, so we will be appraising what they have to offer at the festivities of this groundbreaking event." As the mayor of Briarmoon Cove, and the appointed ambassador for the festival, I welcome you all to join us in celebrating this worldly gathering of artisans. We have brought delegates from all across Elanthia to our seaside retreat, and they will be marketing quintessential offerings from their homelands. Be sure to stop by all of the shops from each represented area, as you will find a vast assortment of commodities, both unique and familiar. Some are even exclusive to Briarmoon Cove. The residents of our town have been preparing for the much-anticipated arrival of visitors, and attendees will be able to experience such things as stunning coastal views of the night sky, street performers, ice sculpting areas, the Lighthouse Pub (best known for its warming spirits), the traveling airship known as The Revenge, and over twenty exclusive shops with wares from Icemule Trace to Ta'Illistim! We hope to see you all in a little over two weeks. Briarmoon Cove awaits! - Isabriel Fain Mayor of Briarmoon Cove
Admission to Briarmoon Cove

Things will be heating up in the frosty town of Briarmoon Cove! For this event, we're trying something new. Instead of buying a ticket through the box office, anyone who wishes to visit the festival will buy a luminescent silver-gold orb from the Simucoin shop. This item will allow you to be transported via magical portal to the festival venue. Once you enter the portal, the orb will "lock" onto whatever character uses it, so there are no "admit all" options for this event (though it's something we can look into for future events, if the interest is there). The cost of the orb will be 3250 Simucoins. Orbs will likely show up in the box office before the event opens, but will not be made available to purchase until opening day. We don't want anyone losing orbs! The orbs will NOT be limited, so there's no need to worry about getting it early. Thanks to SGM Sleken for his hard work on the new entry mechanics! ~Liia APM, Events & World Development
