The sign will change its name from time to time
Inky black liquid tendrils lethargically seep out of a large wooden sign titled "The Pie Shop: Once Eaten, Twice Pie", wrapping it so completely that the lettering at the top is completely obscured. The tendrils languidly slink around it, then recede completely leaving the shop with a new name: "The Pie Shop: Live Free and Pie Hard".

| Spick and span, the kitchen is well-stocked with various baking paraphernalia, all organized in handily placed cabinets and wicker baskets, several of which are attached to the bright yellow walls. Situated adjacent a swinging door and an open hearth, a spacious grey stone counter provides substantial ingredient preparation and dough-rolling space, and a wide chalkboard spans the wall above it. Two large ovens and an oddly shaped machine share the back wall, opposite a basin, some wooden buckets, and a stone case of midding size.

| Dim candlelight flares, waxing and waning to create uneven, writhing streaks of luminescence in the otherwise shadowy surroundings. Constructed of mismatched planking in a variety of hues, the floor's unfinished wood provides a distinct counterpoint to the bright yellow walls. A large display counter takes up the majority of the room's space, nearly obfiscating a rickety stairway leading down. You also see a dark-curtained arch.

Basement

| Well-packed earth sends a loamy aroma floating through the chilly air and makes up the entirety of the capacious basement's walls and floor. A small, disordered pile of crates and an exceedingly large mountain of crates are stacked near one another behind a rickety stairway. Flickering lanterns hang from several hooks in the plank ceiling, casting three charcoal-hued couches, a dead root table, and a partially preserved cook's assistant corpse in a dappled mixture of light and shadow.
