Introduction, Panelists, and Luxelle's Thanks
[Helga's, Dining Hall]

Several tables and an oaken sideboard, bearing traces of the previous day's meals, are flanked by a long wooden bench and a few smaller chairs. A leaded glass window, its dusty panes half-covered by filmy curtains, looks out on the dark street, and a brick hearth smolders against the north wall.

You recite:
"Welcome to tonight's Town Hall meeting! I'm Leafiara, hosting tonight, and on behalf of the TownCrier I thank you all for your interest and for being here with us!"
Cruxophim nods sagely at Luxelle.
Cruxophim gives Thuunk a strong, encouraging smile.
You recite:
"It's always the TownCrier's honor to keep you informed about and engaged with events in and around our frontier town."
Luxelle turns an inquisitive ear toward you.
You recite:
"It is -also- our pleasure to introduce our panelists--tonight we have with us Mayor Cruxophim, mayoral advisor and candidate Lylia Rashere, and Wolfloner!"
Cruxophim gives you a strong, encouraging smile.
You add, "We might have additional panelists arriving throughout the night as well, such as Captain Shinann, Deacon Irar, mayoral advisor Xorus, and many others who are always invited--one can never know who will show."
You nod once.
Cruxophim glances at Lylia and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
Cruxophim glances at Wolfloner and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
Shinann just arrived.
Shinann nods in greeting.
You add, "Case in point."
You grin at Shinann.
Shinann shifts her weight.
Speaking bemusedly to you, Cruxophim quips, "Much like the Landing."
You recite:
"And here with us is Captain Shinann of the Landing militia as well!"
You nod in agreement at Cruxophim.
Shinann ducks her head.
Lylia inclines her head.
Cruxophim glances at Shinann and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
You recite:
"Normally this would be when our panelists introduce themselves further if they wish, but our moderator Luxelle and Mayor Crux would like a special word at the start, so in the interest of time, we will be skipping introductions tonight."
Speaking warmly to Luxelle, you ask, "Miss Luxelle... your announcement, please?"
Lylia nods in agreement.
Luxelle smiles.
You give Luxelle a strong, encouraging smile.
Cruxophim gives Alisaire a strong, encouraging smile.
Hammibal hugs Shinann.
Shinann smiles at Hammibal.
You wave to Hammibal.
Hammibal beams happily at you!
Hammibal waves to you.
Cruxophim waves to Hammibal.
You grin.
Hammibal waves to Cruxophim.
Luxelle says, "I wanted to take a moment and just invite you all to celebrate with us. This is the second anniversary of the TownCrier."
Cruxophim applauds Luxelle warmly.
Lylia applauds Luxelle.
Shinann grins.
Wolfloner nods at Luxelle.
You turn to Luxelle and cheer!
Shinann applauds.
Luxelle says, "The team has helped the project grow so much more than I ever imagined."
Luxelle says, "Miss Lylia, Miss Leafi, Mister Bjornsong, are all team members."
You smile at Luxelle.
Lylia inclines her head.
Cruxophim grins at Alisaire.
Luxelle says, "Anyway, thank you all for making the entire project a success, including these new Town Halls. We could never do it without you."
Luxelle nods to you.
Lylia leans forward.
You applaud Luxelle.
You grin.
Lylia murmurs, "You are our true cynosure, Lady Luxelle."
Raelee suddenly fades into view.
Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.
Lylia nods at Raelee.
Raelee nods slowly.
You suddenly say, "Ah, Magister Raelee has joined us... good to have you."
You nod at Raelee.
You wave to Yakushi.
Cruxophim gives Raelee a strong, encouraging smile.
Shinann folds her hands behind her back.
Cruxophim turns toward Raelee and renders a sharp hand salute.
Wolfloner nods at Raelee.
The Mayor's Assurance: Ongoing Security Considerations
Speaking fondly to Cruxophim, you ask, "Now, Mayor--what would you like to discuss this evening before we begin?"
You take a moment to observe everything you can about Cruxophim.
Raelee frowns at Lylia.
Cruxophim amicably states, "I just wanted to inform that I presume the matter we were discussing before we were so rudely interrupted is still being considered by the Town Council, I presume."
You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim affably explains, "I will say, again, regarding this: it is my hope to be an open book in this matter, as far as security will allow for certain elements. If anyone wishes to review the research and whatnot, they are more than welcome to."
Cruxophim amicably concludes, "And if you have any questions, please... do not hesitate to stop by my office, or find me and ask away."
You nod approvingly at Cruxophim.
Thuunk chatters to himself, apparently engaged in a spirited debate with his alter ego.
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Thuunk!
You graciously say, "Thank you, Mayor. So it seems no official approval from the Town Council yet, but ongoing discussions... good to know."
You nod at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim nods understandingly.
Speaking sympathetically to you, Cruxophim states, "I understand their caution, of course. I am cautious myself, in most matters."
You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim folds his hands behind his back.
You amicably say, "Of course. It can be a virtue."
Cruxophim amusedly adds, "Well, where the Landing is concerned. Me? Less so."
Cruxophim flashes a quick grin.
You recite:
"Moving along, then..."
Recapping Rone's Latest
You recite:
"Recent Landing news has revolved around two things: the campaign season for this year's mayoral election and the vigilante Rone."
Cruxophim leans on Lylia, giving her a companionable grin.
Lylia grins at Cruxophim.
You recite:
"Aside from any audience questions, we will largely be focusing on Rone and his newfound followers tonight, since in regards to the campaign season I would like to mention the many events scheduled throughout this month:"
Thuunk works his fingers under his black alloy cap and scratches his head.
Lylia nods at Thuunk.
You recite:
"From dinners to meet and greets to dart tournaments, some of the campaign season events this month include tomorrow night with Ord an Dragan at 22:30 elven, the 14th with Silvergate Inn at 21:00, the 16th with House Onoir at 21:00, the 17th with Elanthian Elegance at 14:00 and later a debate hosted by Judge Renpaw around 23:30 or later, the 18th with Helden Hall at 18:30, and the 22nd with the Order of the Shadow at 23:00."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Zosopage says, "You're leaking."
You let out a long, contemplative breath.
You lightly say, "A busy month to be sure."
You grin.
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Zosopage!
You add, "But to focus on our security concerns for now..."
Cruxophim whispers something to Zosopage.
Zosopage grins at Cruxophim.
You recite:
"Last week Rone led the militia captains and dozens of others to a hut in Shanty Town, where a passage underground was found, leading to a chamber where four captives were found along with torture devices and a map of the pillars surrounding the Landing--which are part of the plan the Mayor was referring to earlier."
Lylia folds her hands.
You recite:
"The captives were freed and taken to the Raging Thrak Inn to tell their story, where a man named Anton claimed to have been tortured by the Mayor. The Mayor denies that and says he has not seen Anton nor the others before."
Cruxophim nods grimly to you.
You recite:
"Rest assured that all four people have been provided sanctuary by The Order of the Silver Gryphon in their Holding. To the best of my knowledge, the investigation is currently ongoing."
You recite:
"Nonetheless, the investigation isn't enough for some people..."
You let out a long, contemplative breath.
You recite:
"Last night several figures in white cloaks, suspected to be Landing citizens, surrounded Moot Hall during the discussion about the plan for improving our defenses."
You recite:
"Claiming that 'We are Rone' and 'We are Wehnimer's,' the figures demanded the surrender of all gathered there, saying that they wanted to take Mayor Cruxophim into custody and bring him to trial over the accusations from last week."
You recite:
"As they drew weapons, the Mayor offered to go along with them and requested that all defending him stand down to prevent bloodshed."
You recite:
"However, any hope of a peaceful resolution quickly disappeared. A couple of people on each side began to swing weapons, then progressively more. Despite the best efforts of the Mayor, militia, and others to put an end to the fighting... last night was an extended battle with casualties on both sides."
Lylia smiles at Rhayveign.
You recite:
"Toward the end of the conflict, one of the white cloaked figures used a wand which turned the Mayor into stone. Talonir was able to undo the magic and the 'Rone' figures withdrew, but one can only wonder how or where they were able to find such a wand."
Lylia nods in greeting at Kipara.
Cruxophim nods absently.
Cruxophim smiles at Rhayveign.
Cruxophim smiles at Kipara.
You recite:
"No doubt our town guard and militia are on alert and hoping to prevent any future incidents like this."
Wolfloner quietly says, "Rone does have the most wonderful toys."
You recite:
"That concludes our summary of recent news, which means it's time for your questions--whether about the topics we just discussed or any other Landing-related subjects!"
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Wolfloner!
You recite:
"You may ask your questions to one, two, or three panelists of your choosing or you may ask an open question and leave it to our panel to decide who will answer. Please note that panelists may pass on answering even if asked and that panelists may offer comments even if not asked."
You recite:
"To join the queue for questions, simply RAISE your HAND and Miss Luxelle will add you to the list."
Thuunk raises his hand.
Luxelle nods at Thuunk.
You nod at Luxelle.
Xorus's group just arrived.
Luxelle beams!
Lylia inclines her head.
Lylia smiles at Xorus.
Xorus smiles at Lylia.
Luxelle asks, "We have all these people here and only one person raised their hand?"
You add, "And here is Mayoral Advisor Xorus, one of our invited panelists."
Cruxophim glances at Xorus and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
You nod approvingly at Xorus.
Xorus nods in greeting.
Luxelle asks, "All right, then, while you all think up questions, shall we start?"
Comment #1, From Thuunk, Responded To By Cruxophim, Wolfloner, Luxelle, Shinann, Lylia, and Xorus: A Dwarven Tale of Blood Marble
Luxelle says, "Thuunk has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Thuunk.
Lylia smiles at Meureii.
Luxelle nods at Thuunk.
Speaking amicably to Kipara, Cruxophim explains, "Myself, Wolfloner, Lylia, and now Shinann and Xorus I believe."
Thuunk says, "This will be a share of information regarding blood marble, if that is okay at this time. Otherwise I can wait."
You say, "Tonight's panelists, at least so far, are Wolfloner, Lady Lylia, Mayor Cruxophim, Captain Shinann, Magister Raelee, and Advisor Xorus."
Lylia nods.
Thuunk glances between Cruxophim and yourself.
Thuunk glances between Cruxophim and Lylia.
You nod at Thuunk.
Cruxophim gives Thuunk a strong, encouraging smile.
Thuunk recites:
"This is a short summary version of a long and old dwarven tale."
Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Thuunk.
Thuunk recites:
"Many years ago, a small group of dwarves started a mine
Those within the group did not always agree totally on what the purpose of the mining should be.
Some mined simply to sell rocks to the topsiders,
others sought out various forms of granite and marble to create sculptures where the materials were found."
Luxelle turns an inquisitive ear toward Thuunk.
You take a moment to observe everything you can about Thuunk.
Thuunk recites:
"When the mines are extensive, the dwarves will build underground lodges so that they will be able to take breaks from the work, and not have to travel the full way back to town. The lodges will have places to eat, to stow foods, and to sleep. For the more faithful, they will make small areas to honor the Arkati, or in some cases, the Drakes that came before them."
Thuunk recites:
"Often when dwarves mine, they will come into contact with lifeforms not known to the topsiders. These lifeforms, like dwarves, and like topsiders, will often act in ways that show reverence to areas, and will seek to keep intruders away from those areas."
Thuunk recites:
"This begins with careful watchfulness, and progress to outright attacks as intruders come closer to those revered areas."
Thuunk recites:
"The dwarves too will often hold differing opinions on how to progress when resistance is encountered. Some will press on, responding to the lure of wealth from mining the areas. Others will hold back, respecting right of other beings to be left alone in their natural areas."
Cruxophim folds his arms, appearing to listen intently. He nods from time to time.
Lylia nods at Thuunk.
Thuunk recites:
"Conflicts will occur, usually leading to death on both sides.
These conflicts have been known to occur with no communication between the dwarven and the other lifeforms.
When the losses become great, one or both sides will cease their activities."
Thuunk recites:
"The result is stories that are told down through the generations."
You nod slowly.
Thuunk recites:
"In one such conflict, the fallen dwarven were buried beneath a blood marble slab, topped with a black marble rose.
That slab is known to the dwarven to this day."
Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Thuunk.
Thuunk recites:
"On that slab are the words:
They, whose bones
Lie here below,
Died for what
They did not know."
Thuunk recites:
"In lower parts of that same mine, at the point where the mining stops, is the following:
We sought after wealth
We sought after fame.
We sought the beauty of nature to tame.
Our blind arrogance led to terror, to death, and to shame."
Thuunk recites:
"In that same mine, the artistic dwarven have carved a wound in the mine. Fittingly, that wound is sculpted in blood red granite."
Thuunk says, "I recalled this when I heard rumors that the Landing had concerns about blood marble."
Cruxophim nods understandingly at Thuunk.
Lylia nods at Thuunk.
You nod understandingly.
Speaking to himself, Thuunk says, "I'd recommend it be returned to where it came from."
Thuunk bows.
You agree, "The blood marble altar in the Hendoran outpost, indeed, is a concern to some."
Cruxophim nods absently to you.
You add, "To others less so, including Deacon Irar who is not with us tonight."
Thuunk nods to you.
Cruxophim calmly remarks, "There is much... superstition surrounding blood marble, which is natural, given how comparatively little is known of it."
Thuunk says, "Uhmm."
You nod at Cruxophim.
Thuunk nods.
Wolfloner darkly says, "I agree. Return it to the Bleaklands. Nothing good has come from Blood Marble that I am aware of."
Thuunk takes a few steps back.
Thuunk says, "I heard conjecture it came from Talador."
You curiously ask, "Panelists, any thoughts?"
Speaking amusedly to Wolfloner, Cruxophim reminds, "Nothing especially bad has come of it either, at least outside of the mines, and not under the direction of Raznel."
You add, "Further thoughts, that is."
Cryheart says, "From the mines."
Cryheart nods at Thuunk.
Thuunk nods.
Luxelle says, "Mister Thuunk, thank you for sharing your lore with us. I had never heard of those things before. I really appreciate that."
Luxelle beams happily at Thuunk!
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Luxelle.
You grin.
Cruxophim gives Luxelle a strong, encouraging smile.
Cruxophim agrees with Luxelle.
Lylia smiles at Luxelle.
Wolfloner nods at Cruxophim.
Shinann says, "I understand that slab at the altar belongs to The Church of Koar, therefore it is out of our control where it goes or what is done with it."
You nod understandingly at Shinann.
Speaking thoughtfully to Thuunk, Cruxophim says, "To my knowledge, the only place where the blood marble has been discovered is in the mines of Talador -- now the Bleaklands -- Koar rest its soul."
Raelee gives a slight flick of her wrist, and some engraved blood marble prayerbeads suddenly appears in her hand!
You take a moment to observe everything you can about Raelee.
Bjornsong raises his hand.
Luxelle nods at Bjornsong.
You nod knowingly.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Thuunk says, "Topsider knowledge is .... topsider knowledge."
You grin at Thuunk.
Speaking amicably to Thuunk, Cruxophim submits, "Fair, I do not claim to be an expert in Dwarven lore."
Cruxophim grins at Thuunk.
Speaking mildly to Shinann, Cruxophim reminds, "As he was simply inclined to destroy it, I did request that Prelate Lheren consider donating it to some part of the Landing."
Cruxophim thoughtfully opines, "It is my opinion that if there -are- some unsavory elements to it that might be exploited, it would behoove us to study them so that we might know how to react."
You rub your chin thoughtfully.
Shinann says, "I thought his words were it was very valuable. Indicating it would not be destroyed."
Speaking nonchalantly to Shinann, Cruxophim admits, "That was what I heard, but perhaps his statement was indicative of reconsideration. Or perhaps a polite refusal."
Cruxophim chuckles.
Speaking to Thuunk, Lylia says, "My experiences with blood marble are less extensive than that of the Dwarves, clearly. I am, however, more familiar with it in its most recent Taladoran context. Your insight is invaluable to us, and I believe I am not alone in thanking you for enlightening us."
Thuunk glances at Raelee.
Shinann nods.
Raelee surreptitiously glances at Thuunk.
Thuunk bows to Lylia.
Lylia echoes, "'Died for what they did not know'...there are few more tragic phrases."
Thuunk grins at Raelee.
Thuunk bows to Raelee.
Shinann agrees with Lylia.
Speaking evenly to Lylia, Raelee says, "It is, indeed, tragic... to not know."
Lylia nods at Raelee.
You nod faintly.
Xorus indifferently remarks, "The Ithzir exhibited some trepidation of that shrine on the world of Kol'Tarsken, and I rather doubt it was because the light of Koar shines in all worlds. It may be in our interests to not dispose of such things too hastily."
Cruxophim gives Thuunk a strong, encouraging smile.
Xorus says, "Whatever everyone else wishes."
Xorus shrugs.
Lylia thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips.
Wolfloner glances at Thuunk.
You nod understandingly at Xorus.
Lylia says, "They did. I recall that tale from the Hendorans, who took it as a sign of Arkatic grace."
Speaking darkly to Thuunk, Wolfloner says, "Good to see you again."
Xorus dryly says, "They would."
Thuunk nods at Wolfloner.
Lylia nods at Xorus.
Cruxophim folds his hands behind his back.
Wolfloner darkly says, "Perhaps."
Question #2, From Bjornsong, Answered By Raelee, Cruxophim, Wolfloner, and Xorus: The Properties of Blood Marble
Luxelle says, "Bjornsong has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Bjornsong.
Wolfloner darkly says, "We should consider more closely the history lesson Thuunk has allowed us."
You nod at Luxelle.
Bjornsong sings happily:
"My understanding is that blood marble was first discovered in the Old Talador Silver mine, after the silver had been played out. Some say it is not an entirely "natural" rock. I was wondering if anyone had analyzed it's magical qualities, or if it has a loresong?"
Speaking to Bjornsong, Thuunk says, "What occupants were encountered in the old silver mine? I recall it was a dwarven mine originally."
Cruxophim amicably offers, "I have a fragment, if you're so inclined."
Cruxophim removes a small piece of blood marble from in his shadow cloak.
Lylia nods at Raelee.
You grin at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim chuckles.
Bjornsong melodically says, "I think the silver was mined by dwarves originally."
Wolfloner grins at Xorus.
Bjornsong melodically says, "And yes, I would be happy to attempt a loresong."
(Raelee idly pulls her strand of blood marble beads between her fingers as she speaks.)
Bjornsong smiles at Cruxophim.
You nod at Cruxophim.
Bjornsong melodically says, "Although Stormyrain might be more capable."
Raelee says, "Yes. It has been analyzed. Extensively."
Bjornsong turns to face Raelee.
Raelee says, "... but we should not for a moment pretend that we know anything."
Speaking thoughtfully to Bjornsong, Cruxophim says, "It is my understanding that the nature of its formation is not entirely known, and may be somewhat magical in nature... beyond that, it is difficult to say without attempting to replicate those circumstances."
Raelee says, "What we clearly do not know far outweighs what we do."
Cruxophim nods understandingly at Raelee.
You nod understandingly at Raelee.
Speaking seriously to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "That would be hubris, I agree."
Wolfloner turns an inquisitive ear toward Raelee.
Cruxophim offers Bjornsong a small piece of blood marble.
Bjornsong accepts Cruxophim's piece of blood marble.
Bjornsong carefully inspects his piece of blood marble.
Raelee says, "I would also suggest that some of its effects are, in fact, a matter of suggestion."
Bjornsong begins a musical chant...
Speaking thoughtfully to Bjornsong, Cruxophim speculates, "It seems to have some highly unusual properties, from my.... studies."
Bjornsong sings a melody.
As Bjornsong sings, the air sparkles briefly around him.
Cruxophim cocks his head at Raelee.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, "It has become a subject of great rumor."
Lylia nods at Raelee.
Luxelle shifts her weight.
Bjornsong sings happily:
"Blood marble, a tiny chip
Share your value, let it slip"
The piece of blood marble seems to respond to the magic of Bjornsong's song.
Bjornsong blinks.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, "There is a grand expectation of... a grand secret and grand power."
Luxelle nods at Bjornsong.
Lylia says, "Such tales do grow in the telling."
Bjornsong melodically says, "50,000 silvers."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, "... but we have not actually witnessed much measurable effect."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Raelee!
Cruxophim nods understandingly at Raelee.
You venture, "Since the Magister is saying blood marble has been analyzed but still very little is known, would it be fair to say that its properties have been inconsistent?"
You ponder the meaning of Raelee's existence.
Wolfloner darkly asks, "Interesting thought. Was the Taladoran Ruling Council evil and corrupted due to it's own greed. Or was that the product of Blood Marble and Raznel?"
Bjornsong sings happily:
"Blood marble, have you a purpose dear?
I wish to know, for it's unclear"
The piece of blood marble seems to respond to the magic of Bjornsong's song.
You add, "From sample to sample, that is."
Bjornsong melodically says, "Decorative? Not sure."
Wolfloner glances at Raelee.
Bjornsong sings happily:
"Blood marble, if you've an aura, then shine
If you have spirit, show us divine"
The piece of blood marble seems to respond to the magic of Bjornsong's song.
Cruxophim mildly states, "It does seem to have collected rather a lot of properties, which is why I believe further analysis to separate fact from fiction would be most beneficial."
Bjornsong melodically says, "I sense no magic."
Bjornsong makes a quick gesture while calling upon the powers of the elements...
You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.
Bjornsong offers Cruxophim a small piece of blood marble.
Cruxophim accepts Bjornsong's piece of blood marble.
Bjornsong melodically says, "The song has ended."
Cruxophim glances at Bjornsong and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
Bjornsong smiles.
Cruxophim put a small piece of blood marble in his shadow cloak.
Bjornsong melodically exclaims, "Thanks!"
Cruxophim gives Bjornsong a strong, encouraging smile.
Cruxophim slips a hand to his ankle, deftly retrieving a black-veined jawbone dagger fused with sanguine blood marble.
Speaking pleasantly to Bjornsong, Cruxophim states, "My pleasure."
Bjornsong moves to a sitting position on the long wooden bench.
Cruxophim shows Raelee his jawbone dagger.
Momentarily revealing the small dark ankle sheath hidden at his ankle, Cruxophim deftly sheathes his jawbone dagger, concealing both it and the sheath once more.
You wave to Falvicar.
Falvicar wiggles his ears at you.
Falvicar stands in front of you.
Raelee squints at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim gives Falvicar a strong, encouraging smile.
Lylia nods in greeting at Falvicar.
Wolfloner momentarily places his right hand on the back of his black vultite targe. As he quickly pulls his right hand back, there is a flash of light centered over his left arm. When the light recedes, Wolfloner's targe has transformed into a smooth vultite bracer!
Xorus says, "I would be interested to discover if there was blood marble involved in the annihilation of Toullaire as well, now that we know 'Raznel' was there in that period when the Arcanum was making blood infused weapons and black coral amulets were invented."
Xorus says, "Something to consider for further study."
You nod at Xorus.
Speaking to you, Raelee says, "To answer your question, inconsistent or inconclusive."
Xorus shrugs.
Wolfloner nods at Xorus.
Cruxophim glances at Elbromo and clasps his hands in a reverent gesture.
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Xorus.
You nod in agreement at Raelee.
Lylia nods at Xorus.
You acknowledge, "Lending credence to what Crux says, then--any additional samples might be helpful to study."
You nod at Raelee.
Speaking absently to Xorus, Cruxophim agrees, "Did it develop naturally, or was it... guided? Difficult to say."
You nod at Luxelle.
Cruxophim jovially remarks, "A large altar-sized chunk would certainly be a good start."
Cruxophim snickers.
Cruxophim flashes a quick grin at you.
Wolfloner darkly says, "We know what the risks are? I am not aware of any benefit of blood marble."
Cruxophim mildly reminds, "But again, that is the decision of the Church. I merely made a suggestion."
Wolfloner shrugs.
Wintersylph raises her hand.
Luxelle nods at Wintersylph.
Speaking melodically to Wolfloner, Bjornsong says, "Money."
You offer, "As our panelists finish with this topic, I'd like to remind everyone that the floor remains open, so do please raise your hand if you have a question about Landing-related topics for our panelists."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Bjornsong!
You nod at Cruxophim.
Speaking darkly to Bjornsong, Wolfloner asks, "Risk your soul for silver?"
Wolfloner grins coldly, his eyes reflecting no emotion.
Stonmel nods at Cruxophim.
Xorus says, "If it has some value with mentalism, some capacity for warding the Ithzir. That may prove useful with whatever Grishom has planned in that capacity."
Xorus says, "I suppose we shall have to wait and see."
You nod once.
Question #3, From Wintersylph, Answered by Shinann, Leafiara, Cruxophim, Lylia, and Xorus: Blood Marble - The Blood Magic Vessel?
Luxelle inclines her ear, listening intently.
Luxelle says, "Wintersylph has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Wintersylph.
Speaking thoughtfully to Bjornsong, Cruxophim speculates, "It could be that it is largely reactive, and thus, would not demonstrate properties readily with cursory examination."
Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Cruxophim gives Wintersylph a strong, encouraging smile.
Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "My question is for any panelist."
You nod encouragingly at Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "First."
Wintersylph softly says, "Based on the topic just discussed."
Stonmel whispers something to Cruxophim.
Shinann folds her hands behind her back.
Wintersylph softly says, "I'd like to add something to help with my question."
Stonmel whispers something to Cruxophim.
Cruxophim nods understandingly at Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "Understanding of course, the inexact nature people are speaking about."
Wintersylph softly says, "But I do wish to express we may know more than we think."
Cruxophim nods faintly at Stonmel.
You cock your head at Wintersylph.
Cruxophim cocks his head at Wintersylph.
Lylia nods understandingly.
Wintersylph softly says, "I ask those who watched the ritual Raznel performed with the Blood marble to remember what you saw."
Cruxophim glances between Shinann and yourself.
You nod to Hapenlok in greeting.
Lylia nods in greeting at Hapenlok.
Wintersylph softly asks, "Might somebody refresh our minds?"
Wintersylph softly says, "Who was there."
Wintersylph softly says, "On the ship."
Lylia folds her hands.
Shinann says, "I was there."
You agree, "As was I."
Shinann says, "She had us bound."
Wintersylph softly says, "Yes, Shinann you were."
Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Shinann.
You curiously ask, "Was there a second part to your question or would you like us to speak on that first part now?"
Wolfloner turns an inquisitive ear toward Shinann.
Wintersylph softly says, "Well a short description would help."
Shinann says, "She took our blood and put it in that sphere that was used by Chaston to blow up Talador."
You nod at Shinann.
Xorus nods.
Wintersylph softly says, "Well the blood marble in particular."
Cruxophim folds his hands behind his back.
Wintersylph softly says, "Did she also crush beetles over the marble getting their blood to run onto the marble."
Shinann says, "I am afraid I do not understand what you mean..."
Wintersylph softly says, "The Marble changed color as a result of the ritual."
You say, "As she spilled the blood over the marble, at first it was flecked with red specks, but many turned a more blackish color as she did, yes."
Speaking curiously to Wintersylph, Cruxophim clarifies, "Are you asking if blood was 'fed' to the marble?"
You nod at Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "It was no longer recognizable as a blood marble."
You give your eyebrow a little workout.
Wintersylph softly says, "That is important."
Wintersylph softly says, "First, simply."
Shinann says, "She used bugs to open our wounds. But, I do not remember her using them on the marble."
You say, "What makes you say that? It still looked like blood marble to me, though the color changed."
You cock your head.
Speaking amusedly to Wintersylph, Cruxophim disagrees, "I am not sure that I would categorize it as a different material, no."
Wintersylph softly says, "The colors changed, and it was not like the colors we have seen in it."
Wintersylph softly says, "As a result of the ritual."
Lylia carefully says, "Blood marble, like many stones, comes in more than one hue."
Luxelle shudders.
Speaking calmly to Wintersylph, Cruxophim reasons, "A chameleon changes color, that does not make it not a chameleon. I am not sure that I see your larger point?"
Shinann says, "It became darker."
Lylia says, "I was not there, but I have seen samples in many different colors."
Speaking to Wintersylph, you acknowledge, "That is very true, but I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. All we can know is that it changes color."
Xorus says, "Blood is a potent alchemical reagent for transformations. It was also used in the reconstitution of the obelisk in the soul chamber of Lich's Landing."
Cruxophim points at Xorus.
You admit, "Better than not knowing anything at all, but it isn't the most helpful information, I think."
Lylia nods at Xorus.
Hapenlok just arrived.
Hapenlok joins your group.
Hapenlok mutters, "I'm back."
You grin crookedly at Hapenlok.
Speaking dubiously to Hapenlok, Cruxophim wonders, "Are you on the panel?"
Speaking to Hapenlok, Lylia says, "Indeed you are."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Hapenlok!
You remove Hapenlok from the group.
You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
Wolfloner nods.
You politely say, "Yes, panelists only please."
You grin.
Hapenlok mutters, "FINE."
Wolfloner nods at Thuunk.
You add, "And of course our moderator."
You nod at Luxelle.
Hapenlok grins crookedly.
Speaking gently to Wintersylph, Cruxophim requests, "Can you elaborate on your second point?"
Wintersylph softly says, "My point is that the marble is a holder of magic which naturally tunes to certain kinds of Magic, what we know from Raznel's ritual is like all gemstone that are orb quality this marble seems to be able to contain Blood magic."
Xorus nods.
Wintersylph softly says, "It is marble."
You nod understandingly at Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "It is formed in the gound."
Lylia smiles at Goldstr.
Wintersylph softly says, "It can be found and mined."
Speaking thoughtfully to Wintersylph, Cruxophim guesses, "Are you implying that blood marble is simply marble that has been activated through some means by Raznel?"
Cruxophim cocks his head at Wintersylph.
Wintersylph softly says, "No."
Lylia turns her head slightly to the side and stares off into the distance, effectively ignoring her surroundings.
Lylia says, "Then perhaps you could clarify for us."
Lylia says, "Beyond the fact that stones are found in the soil and some are different colors."
Lylia smiles.
Cruxophim nods absently at Thuunk.
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Lylia.
Kipara says, "Perhaps it is valuable then to study it ourselves to better understand its abilities and limitations should we face another blood mage in the future."
Speaking mildly to Lylia, Cruxophim agrees, "Yes, please."
Wintersylph softly says, "It is a valuable and rare stone formation, that once prepared like other gemstones, can contain magic as a vessel, that is its property."
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Kipara.
Cruxophim adopts an agreeable expression.
Kipara says, "Everything is scary when you do not understand its limitations."
You rub your chin thoughtfully.
Wintersylph softly says, "And it appears to tune naturally to blood magic."
Speaking pleasantly to Kipara, Cruxophim approves, "Precisely so, yes."
Wintersylph softly says, "That's my point."
Speaking to Kipara, Raelee says, "... one should not fear what one does not understand."
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Raelee.
Wintersylph softly says, "An we have some evidence to that."
Wintersylph softly says, "Some."
Speaking curiously to Wintersylph, you ask, "So, like you said earlier with a comparison to orb gems that can hold imbedded spells--you think blood marble is specifically a conduit for blood magic?"
Wintersylph softly says, "Not a lot."
Speaking wearily to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "Well said, Magister... I wish more would remember that."
Lylia agrees with Raelee.
Speaking to Raelee, Kipara says, "Not understanding something truly harmful is a good reason to fear it, but also a good reason to find out more about it."
Speaking softly to you, Wintersylph says, "Yes."
Lylia nods respectfully at Dirra.
You nod understandingly.
Wintersylph softly says, "So my question is."
Kipara says, "Fear is valuable to survival."
You evenly say, "Very well then. A thought worth entertaining."
You nod at Wintersylph.
Dirra says, "Apologies for being late, Captain Gurbah was about Haven."
You nod understandingly at Dirra.
Wintersylph softly says, "What do people think about that prospect."
Shinann smiles.
Lylia simply says, "It is an interesting one to consider. A most remarkable theory."
Lylia nods once.
Wolfloner nods at Lylia.
Xorus says, "As I said before, it would be useful to discern if Naimorai.. Raznel... whichever name she was using, worked with blood marble in the time Toullaire was annihilated. The Bleaklands and the Wizardwaste have deep preternatural similarities."
Speaking softly to you, Wintersylph says, "And there is written testimony about the Raznel ritual, we can read exactly what happened."
Speaking amicably to Wintersylph, Cruxophim reminds, "I think I covered that prior, with my request. Yes, I think it should be studied further if possible, absolutely. Weakness comes from a lack of understand."
Cruxophim slowly concludes, "....ing."
Cruxophim tries to stifle a sneeze but fails tremendously.
Wintersylph nods at Cruxophim.
You admit, "We do have several practicing blood mages in town, so if the Prelate does agree to the Mayor's request to give us even a sample, we could study it. It's all worth considering."
Lylia whispers something to Xorus.
Cruxophim nods in agreement to you.
You add, "And by 'study' I mean practice with it as well."
You nod.
Xorus smiles at Lylia.
Speaking to Wintersylph, Shinann says, "It cannot be mined any further, as far as this topsider knows. What you say is quite possible, but I do not think it is a cause for concern."
You grin at Shinann.
Shinann glances at Thuunk.
Shinann folds her hands behind her back.
Thuunk nods at Shinann.
Wolfloner frowns.
Lylia examines her fingernails.
Speaking softly to Shinann, Wintersylph asks, "Does Raznel still walk, or the undead summoner?"
Wolfloner darkly says, "If Xorus is correct."
Xorus nods at Wolfloner.
Lylia looks like she was about to say something to Wolfloner, but she hesitates, obviously having changed her mind.
Wolfloner darkly says, "Make certain you consider what has happened before."
Speaking to Wintersylph, Shinann says, "I do not know."
Lylia smiles at Pukk.
Question #4, From Thuunk, Answered by Xorus, Cruxophim, Lylia, and Leafiara: Raznel and Sorcery
You offer, "Does anyone else have questions tonight? Not just about blood marble, of course, but--Rone, the Rone supporters last night, Crux's plan, or other topics?"
You add, "Stephos, the militia... the floor is open."
Lylia surveys the area.
Wolfloner darkly says, "Or the Rooks."
A lop-eared pure white lioness stares hungrily at Ysbaddadin!
Wolfloner grins coldly, his eyes reflecting no emotion.
You nod at Wolfloner.
You say, "The Rooks, absolutely."
Cruxophim gives Wintersylph a strong, encouraging smile.
Wintersylph whispers something to Shinann.
Thuunk raises his hand.
Luxelle nods at Thuunk.
Luxelle smiles.
Wolfloner darkly says, "For example."
You grin at Thuunk.
Cruxophim thoughtfully speculates, "I wonder if those individuals last night were not a schism of the Rooks."
Luxelle says, "Thuunk has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Thuunk.
Thuunk says, "Sheesh."
Dirra asks, "As a very late arrival who are the panel?"
Speaking offhandedly to Cruxophim, you say, "It wouldn't surprise me."
Cruxophim gives Thuunk a strong, encouraging smile.
Thuunk asks, "Was Raznel a sorceror of some sort?"
Lylia says, "A fascinating question."
Speaking to Dirra, you reply, "Advisor Xorus, Magister Raelee, Captain Shinann, Mayor Cruxophim, Lady Lylia, and Wolfloner this evening."
Shinann says, "I wondered also."
Wolfloner darkly says, "If one considers the relationship the empire has with the Silver Kings and how they are intertwined in Imperial life...."
You smile at Dirra.
Xorus says, "Something to that effect. Raznel was an elementalist in her youth, but with unnaturally augmented sorcerous talents. She became trained in shadow and blood magic."
Speaking amicably to Thuunk, Cruxophim answers, "Of a sorts, her specialty is blood magic, which is similar to but in some ways distinct from -- in practice -- that of Grishom Stone."
Wolfloner darkly says, "Why should be compelled to deal with the Rooks on the Empire's behalf."
Cruxophim points at Xorus.
Lylia says, "Raznel, or as we knew her, Naimorai, was part of the Imperial Hall of Mages, which officially abjures sorcery. But her native talents, as Lord Xorus says, inclined her in such directions."
Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.
Thuunk says, "It seems to me, that if Raznel was a sorceror, she would naturally be gifted at illusion of the sorts that might make rocks seem to bleed."
You ponder the meaning of Thuunk's existence.
Wolfloner nods at Thuunk.
Speaking surprisedly to Thuunk, you say, "An interesting thought."
You nod at Thuunk.
Lylia raises an eyebrow.
Lylia whispers something to Xorus.
Speaking thoughtfully to Thuunk, Cruxophim notes, "Interesting, are you suggesting a bit of smoke and mirrors to induce some manner of thought in the captives?"
Xorus says, "She was 'corrupted' like her brother Cyph by the Talon of Toullaire, an ancient artifact for siphoning and amplifying power. It had at the least absorbed the chaotic properties of the surroundings in the Wizardwaste."
Shinann raises an eyebrow in Wintersylph's direction.
Thuunk says, "I know of place where dwarves have made granite sculptures that seem to bleed."
Thuunk nods at Cruxophim.
Lylia nods in greeting at Rarr.
Xorus says, "I suspect in some roundabout fashion she may have caused her own creation, helping the annihilation of Toullaire into the Wizardwaste, so the Talon would acquire the properties to corrupt her younger self later."
Kipara asks, "What powerful mentalist do we know that could warp the minds of others to believe and do terrible things?"
Thuunk says, "If a dwarf can make it seem that way in dim light, then surely an illusionist could make it seem more real."
Xorus shrugs.
Falvicar gives you a friendly hug.
You nod in agreement at Thuunk.
You give Falvicar a friendly hug.
Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "A self-made woman, then?"
Lylia raises an eyebrow.
Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "Just so."
Shinann glances at Rarr.
Lylia nods.
Rarr glances at Shinann.
Speaking gently to Kipara, Cruxophim teases, "I am right here, you flatter me but..."
Xorus says, "Orchestrating the deaths of her whole family, like any properly ambitious sorceress."
Cruxophim snickers.
Shinann folds her arms over her chest.
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Xorus!
You gaze in amusement at Xorus.
Wolfloner quietly says, "Arcanum."
Wolfloner ponders.
Xorus nods.
Speaking amusedly to Xorus, Cruxophim teases, "Way to feed into the stereotypes."
Luxelle's face turns slightly pale.
Cruxophim leans on Kipa, giving her a companionable grin.
Kipara grins at Cruxophim.
Lylia says, "As for Raznel's abilities to create illusions, I have not seen where she has any particular aptitude for it. Her blood magic tends to be of the blunt-instrument variety. Powerful, effective, unsubtle."
Lylia gazes in amusement at Xorus.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Kipara says, "Over here."
Cruxophim sneaks up to Kipara.
Cruxophim leans on Kipara, giving her a companionable grin.
Thuunk nods at Lylia.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Kipara says, "You are powerful, but perhaps not that powerful."
Lylia whispers something to Xorus.
Speaking gently to Kipara, Cruxophim reminds, "Twas a jest."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Kipara says, "You jest I jab."
Xorus says, "Perhaps mental illusions, from within the mind's eye, but I am unfamiliar with the more manifest forms with her."
Kipara pokes Cruxophim in the ribs.
Cruxophim laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.
Xorus holds out his hand, palm facing up, and concentrates on its central point. Slowly, particles begin to coalesce with a unified will in his hand. One by one, petals dark as twilight begin to blossom up, taking the shape of a rosebud. Specks of colorless pollen appear within the flower as the rest of the details are filled in. After a moment, a perfectly-shaped black essence rose lies across Xorus's hand.
Xorus tilts his black essence rose side to side, making the light play off it.
Xorus carefully places the black essence rose into his mouth and chews down on the black essence. Slivers of the dark matter can be seen slithering up Xorus's face under his skin, moving in a direct path for his eyes. Xorus briefly closes his eyes, but when he opens them, they have taken on a solid black hue.
Lylia nods at Xorus.
Stonmel raises his hand.
Luxelle nods at Stonmel.
You mention, "Raznel did use illusions to portray herself as Chaston's mother, as part of her having sway over him."
Stonmel nods at Luxelle.
Cruxophim nods in agreement to you.
You add, "And later, if I remember, she also disguised herself as Sir Thadston's wife."
Shinann nods to you.
Speaking quietly to you, Pukk says, "So, she does have aptitude for illusions."
You nod at Pukk.
Pukk nods slowly.
Lylia allows, "Disguises are not the same as illusions. Although she seems to have learned a thing or two."
Speaking darkly to Xorus, Wolfloner asks, "The Arcanum?"
You nod at Lylia.
Cruxophim neutrally opines, "She is certainly capable of illusions, although I suspect -- given the actual physical evidence of such -- that blood marble, at least in the form from Talador, is not chicanery."
Question #5, From Stonmel, Answered by Cruxophim and Stormyrain: First Blood Charges
You ask, "It seems we've covered this topic pretty exhaustively. Do we have another question, Miss Luxie?"
Luxelle nods.
Speaking to Wolfloner, Xorus says, "The rival magical school to the Hall of Mages centered in Toullaire some six centuries ago. With much looser attitudes on dangerous magic."
Lylia folds her hands.
Cruxophim nods at Wintersylph.
Luxelle says, "Stonmel has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Stonmel.
Cruxophim gives Stonmel a strong, encouraging smile.
Lylia turns to face Stonmel.
Stonmel nods at Luxelle.
Wolfloner nods at Xorus.
You take a moment to observe everything you can about Stonmel.
Stonmel glances at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim nods absently at Xorus.
Cruxophim collects a drop-shaped crimson garnet bottle bound in strands of mithril from a large compartment inside the ebonwood kit.
Cruxophim pours a few drops of perfume from his crimson garnet bottle on himself.
Cruxophim plops a drop-shaped crimson garnet bottle bound in strands of mithril into a large compartment inside the ebonwood kit.
Kipara raises her hand.
Luxelle nods at Kipara.
Raelee adds, "... many of the Hall's present regulations were only formally enacted in response to the Arcanum."
Xorus nods.
Raelee quietly says, "... though they had their ideas..."
Maylan just arrived.
Maylan hiccups!
Maylan sits down.
You grin at Maylan.
Lylia gazes fondly at Maylan.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Stonmel asks, ""We talked about this already last night, among other things. After reflection, have you decided to direct those appropriate to investigate and bring charges against those who drew first blood last night, or are they simply getting a pass?"
Raelee removes a gilt-inlaid faded leather book from in her silk components pack.
Stonmel says, "Sorry if this was covered earlier, as I arrived late."
You fold your hands.
Stormyrain just arrived.
Kipara recites:
"I wasn't around for the events of Talador, but from what I heard there were many...zealots., of Koar, is this correct?" [note: we come back to this as the next question]
You assure, "It wasn't. We've mostly been discussing blood marble and blood magic."
Stormyrain folds her hands behind her back.
You grin at Stormyrain.
Shinann smiles at Stormyrain.
Speaking calmly to Stonmel, Cruxophim offers, "While such is not a direct part of our legal system, I would certainly welcome any independent investigations any oustide organization would wish to conduct, and would willingly submit to such."
Lylia whispers something to Cruxophim.
Stonmel raises an eyebrow.
Cryheart says, "Chaston was the deceiver who led them."
Meureii gives a sharp bark of greeting to Stormyrain.
Lylia nods at Kipara.
Speaking pointedly to Stonmel, Cruxophim repeats, "Willingly. I should not like to encourage a witch hunt."
Stormyrain inclines her head.
Stormyrain smiles.
Kipara asks, "Yes, and there was blood marble involved?"
Cryheart gives Stormyrain a friendly hug.
Speaking politely to Stonmel, Cruxophim inquires, "Was that not what you were referring to?"
Stonmel asks, "So, starting a fight in the street that lead to the death of many, that's outside the concern of the legal system of this town?"
Stonmel grunts, amused.
Cruxophim gazes in amusement at Stonmel.
Lylia nods in greeting at Stormyrain.
Lylia smiles.
Stormyrain smiles at Chaoswynd.
Wolfloner nods at Xorus.
Speaking amusedly to Stonmel, Cruxophim reminds, "I didn't start the fight, and the individuals were anonymous."
Chaoswynd smiles at Stormyrain.
Stonmel says, "I didn't say you."
Stonmel says, "But it was those supporting you who drew first blood."
You nod to Evia in greeting.
Speaking affably to Stonmel, Cruxophim suggests, "Perhaps you should elaborate on your question?"
Cruxophim gives Stonmel a strong, encouraging smile.
Lylia gently reminds, "We are not responsible for our supporters."
Stonmel asks, "I think it's simple, will you direct those responsible to conduct and investigation and bring charges against those who drew first blood or not?"
You interject, "The Mayor told everyone to stand down and offered to go along with them. You might still see it as 'support' that many refused to let him be taken, but that wasn't the Mayor's idea, at least."
Stormyrain offers, "Anyone can accuse those who drew first blood of murder or assault. Simply find the Constable."
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Stormyrain.
Stonmel rolls his eyes.
Speaking simply to Stonmel, Cruxophim states, "There you have it."
Stonmel says, "So a pass."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Hammibal!
Stonmel chuckles.
Speaking wryly to Stonmel, Cruxophim reminds, "That isn't a pass. You're welcome to do the same. Have you not? If not, why not?"
Stormyrain says, "I was not in the area when blood was drawn, but if those who were wish to further those charges the Constable and town guard are the proper forum for that, versus the militia."
Speaking to Stormyrain, Stonmel says, "Hence why I was talking to the mayor and not you."
Stormyrain adds, "And I suggest that those who were witness, do that."
You nod at Cruxophim.
Lylia nods at Wintersylph.
Speaking to Stonmel, Stormyrain says, "This is an open forum, we often add our expertise. If you wish a private audience with the Mayor I'm sure he will arrange that."
Shinann blinks.
Stonmel raises an eyebrow.
Speaking diplomatically to Stonmel, Cruxophim suggests, "Let's end this matter then, and I go and ensure the proper fines are handled after this."
Stonmel says, "Your expertise is that... it's outside your expertise..."
Wolfloner smiles.
Stonmel says, "Well stated."
Stonmel nods at Stormyrain.
Speaking calmly to Stonmel, Cruxophim inquires, "Is that amenable?"
Wolfloner nods.
Hapenlok says, "You know, every time I attend one of these meetings...I get filled with murder and fury."
Speaking to Stonmel, Stormyrain says, "My expertise is in how to make the law work for you. Since clearly you are unable to ascertain as much for yourself."
Cruxophim gives Stonmel a strong, encouraging smile.
Stormyrain says, "I'm happy to help."
Stormyrain smiles.
Stonmel nods at Cruxophim.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Hapenlok asks, "Why did you invite me again?"
Hapenlok grins at Cruxophim.
Speaking evenly to Hapenlok, you say, "To be fair, that's every time you attend any meeting."
You grin.
Cruxophim and Stonmel shake hands.
Hapenlok says, "Well, at any rate. I'm fifteen million silvers richer. So I'm somewhat in a good mood. So you're all probably safe tonight."
Question #6, From Kipara, Answered by Lylia, Cruxophim, Shinann, Leafiara, and Xorus: Zealots and Blood Marble
Luxelle says, "And our last question tonight ..."
You nod once.
Luxelle says, "Kipara has the floor for the next question."
Luxelle nods at Kipara.
Lylia smiles at Kipara.
You turn to face Kipara.
Wolfloner searches around for a moment.
Speaking politely to Stonmel, Cruxophim concludes, "I do appreciate your concern for equilateral justice."
Cruxophim turns to face Kipara.
You grin at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Kipara.
Stonmel nods at Cruxophim.
Wolfloner quietly says, "You need stealth armor."
Cruxophim grins at Kipa.
Goblyn winks at Wolfloner.
You grin at Goblyn.
Cruxophim glances at Goblyn and makes a little purring sound.
Xorus smiles at Goblyn.
Lylia gazes fondly at Goblyn.
Wolfloner adjusts Goblyn's inky black liquid to cushion her movements.
Goblyn grins.
Goblyn waves.
Cruxophim gives Goblyn a lingering kiss on the cheek.
Goblyn clasps her hand over her mouth.
Lylia cocks her head at Kipara.
Hammibal says, "So much for the lack of violence tonight."
Cruxophim hugs Goblyn, who wraps him in a warm embrace.
Hammibal sighs at Goblyn.
You tilt your head slightly toward Kipara, noting the subtle changes in her muscles and breathing.
Goblyn wiggles her eyebrows at Hammibal.
Stormyrain grins at Hammibal.
Goblyn gives Cruxophim a lingering kiss.
Kipara recites:
"My question is more of an observation. I believe Blood marble was used by a faction of the church of Koar in the events involving Chaston to create many zealot followers. I believe the Church of Koar is still being corrupted by the presence of this blood marble statue, which is causing even more Zealotry here."
Cruxophim glances at Goblyn and makes a little purring sound.
Cruxophim gives Goblyn a lingering kiss.
Cruxophim leans softly against Goblyn.
Wolfloner rubs his shadowy black shirt.
Goblyn nods slowly at Wolfloner.
Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Kipara.
You rub your chin thoughtfully.
Kipara recites:
"Koar is a Righteous and Good Arkati, yes? These people are obsessed with "justice""
Lylia asks, "The blood marble altar there? In the outpost?"
Kipara says, "Their own justice."
Speaking thoughtfully to Kipara, Cruxophim clarifies, "The one that was torn down and shattered?"
Speaking to Kipara, Shinann says, "Raznel controlled Chaston."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Kipara says, "Perhaps there is more."
Cruxophim agrees with Shinann.
You curiously ask, "The people obsessed with 'justice' lately have been Rone and as of last night his supporters--are you saying you think there's some connection between them and the Church of Koar?"
You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.
Speaking thoughtfully to Kipara, Cruxophim admits, "I am no aware of any in the vicinity of Wehnimer's Landing, but... that is merely to my knowledge."
Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Speaking hesitantly to you, Cruxophim guesses, "I don't... think so?"
You admit, "Many of us did note how much they acted like the Blameless, but it was more a comparison than assuming any direct ties."
Kipara asks, "Were we not just speaking about a statue at some camp?"
Shinann says, "An altar."
Speaking curiously to Cruxophim, you say, "I don't either, but the Church of Koar doesn't have a very large presence here, so I'm trying to understand who Kipara believes is corrupted..."
Lylia says, "There is a curious kinship between this notion of 'Koar's justice' and the 'justice' of Rone. Is it blood marble, though, or is it a different sort of...hmm, infection of thought? Poisonous thinking caused by ignorance and superstition."
Lylia narrows her eyes.
Xorus says, "That whole affair was manipulated toward some other end. Half-elven plagues and purges, religious purification, zealots fueled with the Everblood."
Speaking amicably to Kipara, Cruxophim explains, "That was an altar at the Outpost south of town. To clarify, there WAS a statue of Chaston in the.... Park, I believe? But that was long torn down and disseminated."
Kipara says, "There was the man who came here not long ago claiming to cleanse the corruption."
Speaking to Kipara, Lylia asks, "In which case, how could we tell blood marble corruption from the corruption of the notion of 'justice' as it grows warped in others' heads?"
You slowly say, "Ah, the blood marble altar, not a statue. It is indeed at the Koar shrine in the Hendoran outpost."
Lylia looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.
Stormyrain folds her arms over her chest.
Xorus says, "I suspect the point was to form the Bleaklands to prepare the lands for this upcoming Blood Harvest."
Speaking neutrally to Lylia, Cruxophim states, "I would concur with that. Every bit as dangerous."
Shinann shifts her weight.
Speaking to Xorus, Hapenlok reminds, "But that destruction was meant for Tamzyrr."
Lylia firmly says, "Faith can sour. We have seen it before."
Speaking to Lylia, Kipara says, "Because the events as of late have been highly unusual."
Cruxophim wryly spits, "Ideals can be every bit as poisonous as venom, if twisted and allowed to fester."
Speaking thoughtfully to Hapenlok, you say, "Or so Chaston might have believed. Raznel maybe not."
Lylia nods at Kipara.
Goblyn nods eagerly at Wolfloner.
Speaking to Hapenlok, Xorus says, "And yet Raznel would have remembered from her youth that it happened in Talador."
You nod in agreement at Xorus.
Speaking to you, Hapenlok says, "Well, I suppose anywhere could have ..."
Wolfloner nods.
Cruxophim snuggles Goblyn, who responds by cradling an arm around him.
Speaking to Kipara, Lylia says, "Once a contagion is unleashed, it spreads. It is difficult to quell the fever once it begins."
Lylia gives a sigh of resignation.
Goblyn leans softly against Cruxophim.
Speaking to Xorus, Hapenlok hisses, "I hate paradoxes. And I hate you for reminding me of them."
Lylia shifts her eyes to Hapenlok.
Cruxophim looks very far away for a moment, a wistful expression on his face.
Luxelle shifts her weight.
Hapenlok says, "I'm kidding. Sort of."
Lifting first one foot and then another, Hapenlok slowly backpedals.
Lylia smiles quietly to herself.
Hapenlok grins weakly.
Lylia says, "I know."
Xorus says, "Yes. They are the ultimate cheat for those who claim to do divination."
Lylia winks at Hapenlok.
You grin at Cruxophim.
Kipara says, "I think the people of this town are being tainted. Perhaps there is a magical catalyst helping them along."
Cruxophim places a hand on his black silk shirt over his heart.
You wink at Cruxophim.
Speaking to Kipara, Lylia says, "Worth investigating. Any avenue is."
Raelee dryly says, "... in my experience, most need little help in being irrational."
Speaking to Kipara, Lornieh asks, "You say this after you were the first to start that massacre last night?"
Cruxophim nods in agreement at Lylia.
Shinann shakes her head.
Lornieh snorts!
Speaking thoughtfully to Kipara, Cruxophim agrees, "Worth investigating, yes."
Lylia says, "Although I am more inclined to believe this malaise is naturally arisen."
Xorus says, "Those blood trees and spores in the Bleaklands make me suspect the land was seeded. I recall the residue on the Grishom flesh golems Raznel once left in an exploding crate was the same as that on the blood maw and trees."
Cruxophim wryly insists, "This is why it is imperative to apprehend the root of the problem as swiftly as possible."
Cruxophim mutters something about plans.
Lylia gazes with interest at Xorus.
You remind, "And as clarification, despite dressing in white the townspeople who attacked last night have no known association with the Church of Koar."
Speaking to Lornieh, Kipara says, "When a lion bares its teeth one does not wait for the first strike to assume that they are in danger."
Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "I remember it. I caught some up on a handkerchief."
Lornieh begins chuckling at Kipara!
Stonmel says, "Nor Rone, really."
Stonmel glances at you.
Speaking to Kipara, Lornieh says, "One does wait when it's innocent lives at stake."
Speaking to Lylia, Xorus asks, "You gave that to Harrower Ersix, yes?"
You raise an eyebrow in Stonmel's direction.
Lylia nods at Xorus.
Lylia says, "Of course."
Speaking to Lornieh, Kipara says, ""Innocent" is not a word to be used lightly."
Goblyn whispers something to Xorus.
Cruxophim nods at Xorus.
Xorus grins at Goblyn.
Kipara says, "Innocent is not demanding the Mayor and his supports be hauled off to who knows where."
Speaking to Stonmel, you say, "If you mean that Rone has no known association with the Church, I'd agree. If you mean that the townspeople last night have no known association with Rone... I'd reluctantly agree, but they do seem to admire him."
Speaking to Kipara, Lornieh says, "I of course do not use it lightly."
Lylia shifts her weight.
Stonmel grunts, amused.
Lylia attends to her silk gown, making the gown as presentable as possible.
Speaking to you, Hapenlok says, "Of course they do."
Speaking to Hapenlok, you ask, "Do have an association or do admire him?"
Speaking to Lornieh, Kipara says, "Your accusations hold no weight, the only thing keeping them from attacking me was a magical calm."
Speaking thoughtfully to Stonmel, Cruxophim explains, "They are associated by adopting him as a symbol. Whether that implies beguiling of some sort on his part, I do not know, but they are complicit to that extent."
Luxelle shifts her weight.
Speaking to you, Hapenlok says, "Admire him. As to the association? I'll leave it to my former colleagues in the Militia to judge."
Stormyrain gives a sidelong glance at Meureii.
Speaking to Kipara, Lornieh says, "We'll see, but your accusations of the whole town being tainted also holds no weight."
You nod at Hapenlok.
Speaking softly to Cruxophim, Bernadette asks, "I have been workin on restockin the ammo fer the ballistas and I have noticed the ballista over west tower still be broken from the whole Dennet thing. Do ye have plans on fixin it soon?"
Speaking to Lornieh, Kipara says, "Not the whole town, but that mob from last night, surely yes."
Lylia shifts her eyes to Maylan.
Luxelle casually observes her surroundings.
Luxelle shifts her weight.
You comment, "If they were more closely associated and working together, I imagine Rone could have supplied them with better weapons considering everything we've seen from him. I imagine they're working on their own, but time will tell."
Speaking gently to Bernadette, Cruxophim states, "I have requested that the defenses be repaired, but alas, a good deal is still in chaos from the prior attacks, and now this Rone business."
Shinann says, "We had promises of coin coming in from those who destroyed them."
Lylia nods in greeting at Mynon.
Lylia smiles.
Speaking sympathetically to Bernadette, Cruxophim assures, "I will nudge them again, however."
Stormyrain whispers something to Meureii.
Stormyrain shifts her weight.
Speaking wryly to Shinann, Cruxophim reminds, "Or golems, which would be far more valuable."
Cruxophim chuckles.
You note, "Though that wand that turned the Mayor into stone is still... a very unusual artifact for them to have considering what little else they had."
Shinann says, "No."
Bernadette nods at Cruxophim.
Speaking thoughtfully to you, Cruxophim agrees, "True."
Cruxophim peers quizzically at Shinann.
You nod at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim snuggles Goblyn, who responds by cradling an arm around him.
Speaking to Shinann, Hapenlok asks, "No what...no, to what I said? or no to something else?"
Speaking to you, Lisbethany says, "That sort of thing is why I am sure "Rone" is simply clearing his own playing field of competition."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Lisbethany!
Luxelle removes a gnarled illthorn staff sprouting a few star-shaped leaves from in her ebon jacket.
Speaking to Hapenlok, Shinann says, "No to something else. I try not to talk to you."
Speaking amicably to Luxelle, Cruxophim inquires, "Shall we call it a night, then?"
Luxelle nods at Cruxophim.
Speaking to Shinann, Hapenlok says, "Oh, that's a pity. I haven't had an argument with you in a few hours."
Speaking thoughtfully to Lisbethany, you say, "Like the Rooks... two sides of the same coin in a way."
Luxelle taps the tip of her illthorn staff on the ground.
You nod at Luxelle.
Speaking amusedly to Shinann, Cruxophim guesses, "No to me?"
Hapenlok grins coldly at Shinann, his eyes reflecting no emotion.
(Lisbethany looks at you and taps her nose.)
Speaking laughingly to Shinann, Pukk says, "But Happy is always happy."
Hapenlok tosses a knowing glance toward Shinann, taps his nose, and then points at her.
You grin.
Shinann says, "No to golems."
Speaking wryly to Shinann, Cruxophim deadpans, "Shocker."
Goblyn frowns at Shinann.
Speaking to Shinann, Goblyn says, "But golems are very useful, Shinann."
Speaking gently to Shinann, Cruxophim reminds, "Thankfully, it's not up to you."
Shinann says, "I have had my fill of golems."
Goblyn giggles at Shinann.
Stormyrain looks thoughtfully at Lisbethany.
Speaking to Shinann, Goblyn laughs, "You did eat some?"
Speaking sardonically to Shinann, Cruxophim admits, "Fair. And if it's any reassurance, she'll almost certainly never deliver."
Goblyn's face breaks into a cheeky grin.
Cruxophim grins at Shinann.
Speaking to Goblyn, Shinann says, "No."
Lisbethany smiles at Stormyrain.
Goblyn frowns at Shinann.
Stormyrain smiles at Lisbethany.
Stormyrain inclines her head.
Speaking solemnly to Shinann, Goblyn concludes, "Then you cannot be full from them."
Stormyrain murmurs, "Pardon me, you just--reminded me of someone just then."
Xorus says, "Golems have become quite advanced thanks to Grishom. More like simulacra, artificial life forms."
Shinann begins chuckling at Goblyn!
Goblyn gives Shinann a rather puzzled look.
Luxelle winces.
Lisbethany curiously exclaims, "Someone delightful I hope!"
Lylia nods at Xorus.
Cruxophim gives Stormyrain a strong, encouraging smile.
Concluding
You recite:
"Discussion will continue as long as our audience and panel is interested tonight, but we have come to the end of our 'official' time for tonight's Town Hall meeting."
Stormyrain smiles quietly to herself.
Cruxophim laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement from Lisbethany.
Lylia applauds.
Stormyrain says, "Someone I adore dearly."
Raelee furrows her brow.
Speaking amicably to Stormyrain, Cruxophim inquires, "How go things, Captain?"
You recite:
"The TownCrier would once again like to thank everyone for coming out tonight and asking your interesting questions!"
Stormyrain can offer Cruxophim only a blank expression.
Goldstr bows to you.
Speaking to Xorus, Hapenlok says, "The most worrisome was Madelyne, though."
You curtsy gracefully to Goldstr.
Xorus nods at Hapenlok.
Speaking softly to Cruxophim, Wintersylph says, "Ahh, da infamous Flesh Golems, made from da skin of Black orchard apples."
Cruxophim can offer Wintersylph only a blank expression.
Speaking flatly to Cruxophim, Stormyrain asks, "Citizens killing citizens in the streets in the opposition or protection of the Mayor. How do you think it goes?"
Speaking wryly to Stormyrain, Cruxophim concedes, "Fair."
Stormyrain sighs slightly and rubs her temples.
Speaking to Wintersylph, Lylia asks, "Pie golems?"
Lylia raises an eyebrow.
Wintersylph softly says, "Flesh golems."
You recite:
"Our next Town Hall will be held on the 15th and will be an Open Stage Night, with no topics or recap of recent news at the beginning."
Thuunk shivers.
Speaking nonchalantly to Wintersylph, Cruxophim remarks, "Sounds delicious. Golems ala mode."
Lylia diplomatically says, "It is certainly an interesting idea."
Speaking to Lylia, Lisbethany enthuses, "Oohh, I should like to try to make one of those!"
Wintersylph softly says, "Somebodies says Cruxophims eats golems."
Cruxophim applauds you warmly.
You recite:
"If we weren't able to get to your questions tonight, please bring them to that Town Hall if possible--it will be our last one this month."
Thuunk bows to Lylia.
Lylia places a hand over her heart.
Lylia bows to Thuunk.
Wintersylph softly says, "Dey must be's Flesh Golems."
Speaking mildly to Wintersylph, Cruxophim informs, "Only when they mouth off to me."
Cruxophim gives Wintersylph a strong, encouraging smile.
(Thuunk bobs up and down bowing to each person in turn.)
You grin at Thuunk.
You curtsy gracefully to Thuunk.
Cruxophim looks at Wintersylph and breaks into a devilish grin.
Shinann bows to Thuunk.
Xorus says, "Pity we do not use the blood of a crime to reconstitute the victims as flesh golems so they tell us in their own words what happened to them."
Thuunk wobbles, looking a bit faint.
Luxelle exclaims, "Thank you Distinguished Panel, and thank you, our charming audience!"
Cruxophim amicably states, "And thank you, Thuunk, for visiting us."
Luxelle bows her head slightly as she drops into a deep, respectful curtsy.
Cruxophim and Thuunk shake hands.
Cruxophim gives Thuunk a strong, encouraging smile.
