Origami Paper

The art of origami requires special origami paper. Origami paper is sold in stacks with unlocks to add additional sheets, up to 500 sheets in one stack. You can PLUCK an individual piece of paper from the stack, and if you have trained in origami and learned some patterns, you can ORIGAMI FOLD an individual sheet.

In addition, paper that has been placed into an unlocked origami kit will be unlocked to the same level of the kit, opening up fluff verbs that vary depending on whether or not it is a stack of paper, an individual sheet of paper, or a sheet folded into an origami object. For an origami object, the fluff verbs have different messaging if you are a Nalfein (elf or half-elf), a burghal gnome, or an erithi.

Using the Paper

  • A stack of paper has 25 sheets off-the-shelf, with unlocks available at Rumor Woods to add more sheets, up to a total of 500.
  • Stacks are not sellable by design (you can pawn an individual sheet if you so desire)
  • You can ORIGAMI FOLD to fold a sheet of paper into a known origami shape. ORIGAMI UNFOLD will unfold it back to a single sheet of paper. Paper will only have 5 folds in it. After you have used ORIGAMI FOLD 5 times, the paper can no longer be folded, but you can use it like paper and just write on it
    • If you fold a piece that has been written on, you can tell there is writing, but you cannot read it until you unfold it

Utility Verbs:

  • Write: Writing is allowed on an individual sheet (not the stack). It requires a writing implement (prop with a noun of feather, pen, plume, quill, reed, or stylus; does not have to be scripted)
  • Clean: Allows the author to erase what they wrote on the paper, must be holding their writing implement.
  • Pour: Allows you to pour perfume on an individual sheet
  • Pluck: Pulls off an individual sheet of paper
  • Push: Combines identical stacks (or a stack and a single sheet), as long as they are both OTS and not unlocked. Paper that has been used in some way (such as folded or written on) is ineligible for recombining
  • Read: If something is written on it, you can read it!
  • Smell: If perfume is on it, you can smell it
  • Toss: If you have an individual sheet to discard, you can use TOSS instead of finding a trash can (makes it easier when working up the origami skill)

Fluff:

  • T2 poke and prod
  • T3 attend, pull, flick, prod, and poke
  • T4 cover, fidget, touch, attend, pull, flick, prod, and poke
  • T5 clench, eat, flip, cover, fidget, touch, attend, pull, flick, prod, and poke

Unlocking the Paper

  • Paper can be unlocked for fluff verbs by storing them inside an origami kit
    • Removing a single sheet or a full stack of sheets from the kit will unlock the paper to the unlock level of the kit
      • Removing a stack will restrict the stack to the same user account the kit is restricted to
      • Sheets removed individually (either from an unlocked stack or the kit itself) will not be restricted usage

Alterations

  • Cannot be altered when folded into an origami shape
  • Cannot alter an individual sheet (must alter the stack)
  • Article field: must reference multiple sheets (some, a stack of, a sheaf of, etc)
  • Adjective field: if you use a color here, it must not contradict the more detailed color field
  • Noun field: Unalterable, must remain paper
  • Color field: can be up to 2 words and no more than 30 characters
  • Post-noun Descriptor field: what will go after the noun for both the paper and the origami product
    • Example: "veined with gold" with "a stack of,pink, paper" and a color field of "vibrant fuchsia" will yield "a sheet of vibrant fuchsia paper veined with gold" and when folded into a kitten, "a vibrant fuchsia origami kitten veined with gold"
    • It is acceptable to have no post-noun descriptor
