Log

Introductions: Lylia, Raelee, Shinann, Xorus (and later Cruxophim and Stormyrain)

[Helga's, Dining Hall]

Tinted glass oil lamps hang from iron sconces, casting a dim glow over the smoke-stained walls of the low-ceilinged room. Several tables and an oaken sideboard, bearing traces of the previous day's meals, are flanked by a long wooden bench and a few smaller chairs. A leaded glass window, its dusty panes half-covered by filmy curtains, looks out on the dark street, and a brick hearth smolders against the north wall.

Also here: Stormyrain, Fahlo, Mister Pukk, Zenthar who is sitting, Bernadette, Lady Authriea who is sitting, Lord Hoodtralfeck who is sitting, Dwi who is sitting, Lady Lornieh who is sitting, Ysharra, Melikor, Lord Xorus, Mayor Lylia, Great Lord Ferrumus, Lord Danthius who is sitting on a long wooden bench, Aeith, High Lord Bjornsong, Shinann, Maiden Balley, Zosopage, Lord Hoodtralfeck, Lady Dodeka who is sitting on a long wooden bench, Mnich who is sitting, Chaoswynd, Magister Raelee, Lady Luxelle who is sitting, Grand Lady Roelaren who is sitting on a wooden chair, Great Lady Darcena who is sitting on a long wooden bench, Aurourra

You pleasantly greet, "Good evening to all! On behalf of the TownCrier, I'm Leafi, hosting tonight's Town Hall meeting--where our honored panelists will be taking your questions about current events in the Landing."

You grin.

Lylia inclines her head.

You begin, "Before I review some of the recent news, let's introduce our panelists..."

Lylia smiles.

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Lylia says, "That is, good evening."

You proclaim, "Tonight we have with us... The Landing's own Mayor Lylia, Magister Raelee of the Hall of Mages, and Captain Shinann of the Landing militia!"

Lord Xorus just arrived.

You add, "And mayoral advisor Xorus."

Lylia smiles at Xorus.

You pleasantly continue, "We also have with us, of course, our moderator: TownCrier founder Miss Luxelle, who will be keeping track of the question queue and moving the event along. To join that queue, simply RAISE your HAND and she'll give further instructions, as well as tell you later on when your turn is up."

Luxelle nods.

You formally explain, "You may ask questions to any panelists of your choosing--or simply ask it openly and our panel will decide among itself who answers. We ask only that the questions be related to the Landing."

Luxelle beams happily at you!

You smile at Luxelle.

You add, "And please note that our panelists may decline to answer even if asked or may volunteer an answer even if not asked."

Zosopage asks, "When do the polls open in Icemule?"

Zosopage ducks his head.

You notice Zosopage slip into a hiding place.

You musingly say, "Now, on to a brief recap of the news before we move on to your questions--but the most major recent news is actually still in the making."

You point at Zosopage, ruining his hiding place.

You shake your head at Zosopage and cluck your tongue.

Zosopage grins sheepishly.

You explain, "Mayor Lylia is faced with the decision over whether to appoint Khylon, Kilron, or Thadston as the interim marshal of the militia--after the three had debated and made their cases two nights ago."

Lylia nods in agreement.

Speaking curiously to Lylia, you ask, "Have you made a decision on this yet, by the way?"

Darcena mutters, "Not Kilron."

Shinann chuckles to herself.

Shinann folds her hands behind her back.

Ysharra smiles at Shinann.

Shinann grins at Ysharra.

Xorus nods in greeting.

Ysharra nods to Raelee in greeting.

Raelee nods slightly at Ysharra.

Lylia says, "I shall report that decision, when it is made, to the Town Council. Officially."

Speaking to Raelee, Darcena mouths, "Snacks?"

You nod understandingly at Lylia.

Lylia says, "Not before."

Lylia smiles.

You pragmatically say, "Makes sense."

Raelee looks over at Darcena and shakes her head.

You say, "To the other piece of news, then..."

You briskly continue, "Grishom Stone had recently made an appearance outside town with an offer to Breshon Caulfield from the Hendoran outpost to heal his sister Larsya. After being informed, Breshon eventually concluded that he'll need a month to decide and requires more details from Stone--along with assurances that he and his family won't owe him any favor."

Lylia nods slightly.

You add, "And, in case Grishom's terms ultimately aren't acceptable, Lord Xorus and Magister Raelee are also working on an alternative method to cure Larsya by--to my understanding--temporarily transforming her blood into Everblood, purging the Epochxin."

You acknowledge, "As many of you who were available for the interim marshal debate or the discussion with Breshon know, both of these difficult and weighty decisions were surrounded by long and intense debates. And then, to think of the ongoing research by Xorus and Magister Raelee--and the ongoing discussions our citizens and allies are having with Mayor Lylia..."

You frankly confide, "Simply put, I don't dare try to summarize hours of consideration in a few moments. These are very complicated matters and I think--both personally and professionally--I'd be doing a disservice to simplify the very diverse perspectives our people have."

You nod once.

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

You earnestly remind, "However, if you're curious about either of those nights and couldn't be there, I've made transcripts of both events available with many strong opinions and thought-provoking questions. Any of our panelists and likely most of the crowd can tell you where to find those."

You add, "And, of course, you may ask our panelists for their thoughts on Grishom Stone's offer or the interim marshal if you wish."

You grin.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Dang it."

You lightly say, "So! On that note, it's time now to hear out -your- questions about our fair town."

Lylia notes, "It is one of the chief reasons I am here tonight."

Hoodtralfeck says, "I missed it."

You nod in agreement at Lylia.

Dwi heartily asks, "Helga's special stew nite?"

Shinann grins at Dwi.

Dwi grunts at Shinann happily, grinning.

You amicably remind, "As ever, simply raise your hand and we can get started--and remember questions need not be about Grishom or the interim marshal, but anything Landing-related."

You glance appraisingly around the room.

Lylia folds her hands.

Question #1, From Darcena, Answered By Shinann and Lylia: Interim Marshal Matters

Darcena raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Darcena.

You grin at Darcena.

You grin at Luxelle.

Luxelle says, "Darcena has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Darcena.

Luxelle nods.

You tilt your head slightly toward Darcena, noting the subtle changes in her muscles and breathing.

Speaking to Shinann, Darcena says, "I would like to hear your thoughts on the three individuals who were at the debate and who you would like to be in charge of you."

Darcena adds, "And that person does not necessarily need to be one of the proposed individuals."

You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.

Shinann says, "Honestly, I would have preferred Stormyrain."

Darcena nods once at Shinann.

Shinann says, "Since it is a temporary position."

Zenthar just arrived.

Lylia nods in greeting at Zenthar.

Zenthar smiles.

Zenthar nods to Lylia in greeting.

Darcena asks, "And your thoughts on Kilron, etc.?"

Shinann says, "However, I will say that Khylon or Thadston are experienced and I am willling to work with them both."

Speaking heartily to Ferrumus, Dwi says, "Pay tention."

Lylia gazes with interest at Shinann.

Shinann says, "I invited him to join the militia."

Mister Pukk just arrived.

Shinann nods at Darcena.

You hear an unpleasant wet crunching sound from the shadows.

You grin at Pukk.

Lylia waves to Pukk.

Darcena nods at Shinann.

Shinann says, "Though, he had some good ideas."

Pukk waves to Lylia.

Darcena muses, "I heard that."

Pukk snuggles up against you, and you cradle an arm around him in response.

Speaking mischievously to Shinann, Darcena asks, "Where is my invitation?"

Shinann says, "I will talk to you after if you like."

Shinann nods at Darcena.

Darcena nods briskly!

Shinann says, "Always recruiting."

You grin at Shinann.

Luxelle casually observes her surroundings.

Shinann smiles at Darcena.

Darcena asks, "I can let someone else speak now. I'm sure you're available during that talk for further discussions?"

Luxelle says, "The list is currently empty, friends, please raise your hand to ask a question of our panel."

Speaking curiously to Shinann, you say, "Who approves the applications now, actually, considering--"

Darcena cocks her head.

Darcena peers quizzically at Shinann.

You suddenly say, "Well, I suppose it doesn't matter since there'll be a new interim marshal soon."

Shinann nods at Darcena.

You nod.

You feel something lean against you and note the faint scent of blood, raw meat, and pungent soil, overshadowed by the tenebrous fetor of decaying flesh, but when you turn no one is there!

You gaze in amusement at your surroundings.

You hear someone chuckling.

Deep in the shadows, you think you see movement: something like a thousand snakes all swarming around each other. By the time you've focused to get a closer look, they are gone.

Cruxophim suddenly fades into view.

Cruxophim pleasantly greets, "Evenin', all."

As you lean toward Cruxophim, you notice that he has blood on his face. You rethink your move for the sake of your clean clothes.

Aeith raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Aeith.

Cruxophim wipes some blood off his face with his hand.

Cruxophim hugs you, and you wrap him in a warm embrace, stirring the faint scent of blood, raw meat, and pungent soil, overshadowed by the tenebrous fetor of decaying flesh around him.

You warmly greet, "Evenin', Crux."

You grin.

Darcena bites her lip.

Lylia replies, "The Town Council, in their infinite wisdom and sense of their own power, arrogated this decision to themselves. At least, the selection of candidates."

Pukk grins at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim winks at Pukk.

Lylia smiles thinly and adds, "I am given the choice of those who are already chosen for me."

Cruxophim hugs Lornieh, who wraps him in a warm embrace.

Darcena mouths, "Infinite wisdom."

Cruxophim gives Balley a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Lylia.

Pukk quietly says, "I think the town council is trying to steer you to the candidate they want."

Speaking knowingly to Lylia, Darcena asks, "I'm sure that just chafes, doesn't it?"

You acknowledge, "A certain Grand Magister made me hate the word, but truly we could use some more transparency."

Lylia smoothly says, "Nothing chafes me. It is all silk."

Darcena smirks at Lylia.

Lylia gently rubs her hand over her jacquard overgown, admiring the fit.

Shinann fidgets.

Dwi opens her mouth to speak, but is interrupted by an unexpected belch.

Dwi grunts bashfully, averting her eyes.

Darcena nods at Dwi.

Cruxophim chuckles.

Raelee gives a sidelong glance at you.

Darcena raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Darcena.

You grin at Darcena.

Darcena attempts to hum a merry little tune.

Luxelle shifts her weight.

You lightly assure, "The field is certainly all yours if nobody else has questions." [having missed Aeith raising her hand]

A caped figure leans down and scrapes its fingernails slowly across the floor.

You nod at Darcena.

Darcena flashes you a wolfish grin.

You give Darcena a strong, encouraging smile.

Darcena winks at you.

You gaze in amusement at Darcena.

Question #2, From Darcena, Answered By Lylia and Leafiara: Queen Daukhera and Irar

Darcena says, "This question is for all who have an answer."

Speaking to a caped figure, Shinann says, "Helga is going to throw you out if you keep scuffing her floor."

Darcena asks, "Is there any update to what we're hearing out of Icemule with the Queen?"

Luxelle nods to you.

You slowly say, "That... is not a Landing-related question..."

Darcena says, "In reference to the Landing."

Darcena says, "And... Ahem."

Darcena says, "Irar."

You acknowledge, "But I do happen to know that she's expected around Icemule in two nights."

Speaking to you, Zosopage says, "But it could be in time."

Speaking curiously to Darcena, you ask, "Irar? What does he have to do with the Queen?"

Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "He's just nervous. A new experience for him, too, much like my being a walking corpse a bit ago."

Darcena shrugs at you.

Aeith says, "I actually beg to differ, with what happened with Newsby and all..."

Lylia says, "Queen Daukhera has appeared at mayoral events briefly. We remain on good terms with her. She appreciated the gift I gave her, and I see no reason to draw her ire or court her favor, particularly. I always prefer good relations."

Lylia looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

Darcena says, "Yes, I was there."

Cruxophim gazes in amusement at Ysharra.

Darcena nods at Aeith.

Cruxophim leans on Lylia, giving her a companionable grin.

Lylia leans softly against Cruxophim.

Lylia smiles at Cruxophim.

Darcena nods at Lylia.

Lylia says, "I am not certain what you would wish me to say about Irar, nor what connection he has to Icemule -- far less what connection that may have with our town."

Lylia says, "You have the advantage of me there, perhaps."

Darcena shrugs at Lylia.

Darcena says, "Perhaps."

Lylia smiles at Darcena.

You understandingly say, "I don't believe anything was proven about Queen Daukhera's ties to that unfortunate incident with Newsby, but yes, from that perspective--fair enough, a Landing-related-enough question."

You grin at Darcena.

Darcena nods to you.

Cruxophim gazes in amusement at his surroundings.

Lornieh raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Lornieh.

You curiously say, "But yes, you'd need to connect some dots for us about Irar."

Darcena blinks at you.

Darcena asks, "How in the world would I do that?"

Aeith says, "I think it's one thing if the Queen sends propaganda and mudslinging at our dear town crier, but if rumors of poisoning are true... that is something of concern."

Speaking to Darcena, you say, "You're the one who raised the question, so... you know better than I."

You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.

Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra asks, "Besides. The floor here is none-too-pristine already. A few more grooves will just be part of the..patina, eh?"

Darcena asks, "I did?"

Darcena scratches her head.

Darcena shrugs at you.

A lop-eared pure white lioness stares hungrily at Xorus!

Zosopage says, "Kittai knows alot of what is going on there."

Ysharra nods to the pure white lioness.

Speaking quietly to Ysharra, Melikor says, "Like she'd notice a few more."

You patiently say, "Just like that night when I was pressing Meureii about what comments he thought Stormy had made to Malluch, we have to know the context of your question to answer it."

Speaking quietly to a lop-eared pure white lioness, Ysharra asks, "I know, right?"

You grin.

Darcena says, "Oh, Salts."

Darcena holds her sides and lets out a rumbling belly laugh while looking right at you!

Darcena says, "My question has been answered well enough."

You gaze heavenward.

Darcena nods slowly.

Balley raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Balley.

Speaking confusedly to Luxelle, you say, "Well... on that note, then, let's keep the night moving."

You grin.

Question #3, From Aeith, Answered By Cruxophim, Lylia, Leafiara, Shinann: Preparations for Queen Dakuhera

Luxelle says, "Aeith has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Aeith.

Lylia smiles at Aeith.

Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Aeith.

Cruxophim gives Aeith a strong, encouraging smile.

Shinann glances around the room.

You tilt your head slightly toward Aeith, noting the subtle changes in her muscles and breathing.

Aeith says, "Darcena already somewhat asked my question, and I had a chance to speak of it, in relation to the Queen and Newsby."

Cruxophim collects a blackened bone pipe from a large compartment inside the ebonwood kit.

Cruxophim gently rubs his bone pipe. A pale blue glow surrounds the bowl, when it fades away the pipe is full of dark, aromatic tobacco.

Cruxophim begins to wave his bone pipe in a circle and suddenly the bowl of his pipe begins to glow a bright cherry red. Soon fragrant smoke begins to rise into the air.

You nod understandingly.

Darcena frowns at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim dubiously inquires, "Newsby was poisoned, I hear?"

Cruxophim frowns.

Cruxophim licks Darcena's cheek sloppily. Yuck!

Luxelle frowns.

Luxelle nods.

You nod grimly at Cruxophim.

Darcena looks at Cruxophim and gags.

Cruxophim removes a strip of rolton jerky from in his small eldritch coffin.

Cruxophim offers Darcena a strip of rolton jerky.

Darcena declines Cruxophim's offer.

Darcena just opened a sturdy ivory satchel.

Darcena removes some bone darts from in her ivory satchel.

Aeith says, "I just had concerns if things in Icemule happen to spill into our town and what can be done either in response or in preparation if the rumors I hear are accurate."

Darcena just closed a sturdy ivory satchel.

Darcena offers Cruxophim some bone darts.

Speaking proudly to Cruxophim, you say, "And your betrothed helped cure her--that I hear too."

You grin.

Balley softly says, "More poison.. Too much of that."

Cruxophim carefully places a strip of rolton jerky on the floor.

Aeith nods at Balley.

Cruxophim accepts Darcena's bone darts.

Speaking amicably to you, Cruxophim remarks, "So I hear, excellent."

You nod emphatically!

Dwi heartily says, "Poison..anudder word fer elven cookin."

Darcena glances at a strip of rolton jerky.

Cruxophim puffs contentedly on his bone pipe. A pale cloud of aromatic smoke slowly rises into the air, hanging above your head for a few moments before an errant gust of wind scatters it.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Darcena!

Cruxophim sheathes some bone darts into one of the slots on his black harness.

Roelaren asks, "Really?"

Lylia whispers something to Xorus.

Cruxophim gives Darcena a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Darcena glances at Cruxophim.

Darcena sniffs at Cruxophim.

[a lull in speaking, then breaking the silence...]

You offer, "Panelists--any thoughts on this concern over what to do if Queen Daukhera brings trouble to the Landing?"

You add, "I know several of you have fought some of her minions there."

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

You distantly say, "Good battles, those..."

Speaking calmly to you, Cruxophim offers, "Same that we do with any others who step up to the Landing. Crush them without pity or mercy."

You flash a wide grin at Cruxophim.

Lylia indifferently says, "I have little to add on the poisoning of one woman by an outside actor when the 'Blood God' awaits an answer to his offer in less than a week."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Zosopage says, "She cheats though."

Speaking bemusedly to Zosopage, Cruxophim inquires, "Who?"

Zosopage says, "The queen."

Shinann folds her hands behind her back.

Cruxophim laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Aeith nods.

Speaking lightly to Zosopage, Cruxophim muses, "Oh, was going to say... gonna have to narrow it down."

Speaking to Aeith, you muse, "It seems our panelists' answer is: little concern."

Zosopage says, "She took my head off without a spell. Just fell off while I was standing there."

Speaking nonchalantly to Zosopage, Cruxophim reminds, "We can cheat, as well."

Zosopage grins at Cruxophim.

Speaking to you, Lylia says, "Do not speak for me. I have nothing to add. I did not say it was of little concern."

Balley softly says, "Cheater never prosper or is it cheaters always prosper."

Lylia says, "It is a matter to be dealt with after more pressing concerns, would be more accurate."

Zosopage says, "Well ok it isn't cheating, just very sneaky spells."

Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I meant a collective answer, with two panelists not responding, but certainly--apologies." [actually three]

You nod at Lylia.

Lylia nods slightly.

Speaking calmly to you, Cruxophim soothes, "Not saying it's of little concern, just saying we've handled what's been thrown at us so far."

Lylia nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking frankly to Aeith, you say, "Maybe projecting. I think she's little concern--her minions haven't come across as a threat when I've been there."

You chuckle.

You nod in agreement at Cruxophim.

Shinann says, "I was there, but again not really the time to discuss her. If she proves a problem to any in the town, then I will have more to say."

Cruxophim pragmatically reasons, "Part of that is the extraordinary ends we've been willing to go to. Provided we keep that up, I have... faith."

Lylia nods firmly at Shinann.

You nod in agreement at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim nods understandingly at Lylia.

Speaking formally to Luxelle, you venture, "Shall we move on, then?"

Luxelle nods.

Lylia rubs her signet ring.

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

Dwi heartily says, "Moobin."

Question #4, From Lornieh, Answered By Lylia: Icemule's Mayor and Queen Dakuhera

Lylia surveys the area.

Luxelle says, "Lornieh has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Lornieh.

As Lylia rubs her obsidian ring, a ball of charcoal black fire builds in her right hand.

You give Lornieh a strong, encouraging smile.

Lylia turns to face Lornieh.

Hoodtralfeck raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Hoodtralfeck.

Cruxophim taps his bone pipe on the ground, cleaning it of ashes and a few glowing embers.

Lornieh asks, "Well, it's along the same lines. So mainly asking Mayor Lylia.... several of the Icemule Mayoral candidates have specified they wish to oppose Daukhera and would seek alliances with Landing to push her out of power.... how would you respond to that?"

Cruxophim snickers at Ysharra.

You surprisedly observe, "Lots of concerns about Icemule tonight."

Xorus raises an eyebrow.

Lylia flatly says, "I do not care about matters troubling Icemule Trace when we have our own concerns on our doorstep."

The ebon black fire in Lylia's hand flickers idly.

Xorus says, "Much larger problems, so to speak."

Lylia asks, "Would you care to ask me a question pertaining to the town of which I am the mayor? Or am I to solve all problems east of the Dragonspine?"

Lylia stares pointedly at Lornieh waiting for an answer.

Hoodtralfeck says, "That lil too political."

Lornieh says, "The problems that plague us now is also not much our concern, since it is Breshon who must decide Larsya's fate."

Lylia says, "I have a few thoughts on how the Turamzzyrian Empire should manage its affairs too, if you like."

Lylia narrows her eyes.

Lylia's spherical ball of obsidian flame licks at the air.

Lylia says, "If you do not think Grishom Stone is a concern for the Landing, I recommend you read history."

Greenish-black flames spring to life in Lylia's hand...

Raelee surreptitiously glances at Lylia.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Lylia!

Cruxophim nods absently.

Lylia says, "Or a news broadside. I am rather sure his name has appeared in such stories."

Lornieh asks, "Oh I know his history... but without knowing what he intends, what is there to speak of or think on?"

Lornieh shrugs.

Lylia offhandedly says, "In answer to your question, I shall work with whomever becomes mayor of Icemule Trace, and how I work with him or her depends on the candidate who wins."

Lylia concludes, "Simple as that."

Lornieh nods once.

Speaking heartily to Danthius, Dwi says, "A blind Ferryman taught me a poem."

You simply mention, "Lots of Icemule rallies this upcoming week for those who -are- interested, by the way."

Hoodtralfeck whispers something to Lylia.

Pukk whispers something to Cruxophim.

Pukk appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Lylia gazes in amusement at Hoodtralfeck.

Speaking offhandedly to Luxelle, you say, "I'm not sure there were this many questions about Icemule when we had a Crier hosting Town Halls -there-..."

Speaking pleasantly to Luxelle, you ask, "Nonetheless, shall we continue with the queue?"

Luxelle agrees with you.

Cruxophim snickers at Pukk.

Question #5, From Balley, Answered By Lylia, Xorus, Cruxophim, Raelee, Luxelle: Grishom's Offer

Luxelle says, "Balley has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Balley.

Balley softly asks, "This can be answered by any or all on the panel. What are your thoughts on Grishom Stone's offer? Do you think he has something hidden or up his sleeve with his offer?"

Lylia nods appreciatively at Balley.

You fold your hands.

Balley smiles at Lylia.

Lylia says, "Grishom Stone chooses his words with care. I appreciate that, and I listen closely. He offered to take the girl's illness from her, and that he expects no payment for this. As I said the other night, to me, this suggests the act itself has value to him."

Lylia says, "This is not 'hidden' to me or to anyone who is familiar with Stone. One must listen to what he says, and what he does not say, carefully."

Balley softly says, "I know he has been in many discussions lately. Since until recently had no knowledge or dealings with him I am just trying to research and get as much information things as I can."

Lylia says, "I think his offer is precisely what he says it is. And that is what we must unravel -- what he stands to gain."

Lylia says, "I know others have more to say on this topic, so I shall yield to them in this."

Lylia glances between Cruxophim and Xorus.

You nod understandingly.

Cruxophim turns to Xorus and bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

[a whisper from Balley]

You quietly whisper to Balley, "I don't fear him either."

[a whisper from Balley]

You nod at Balley.

Balley softly says, "If you need to move on that is fine."

Balley smiles.

Balley softly says, "I am just curious."

Balley softly says, "Trying to figure things out is all."

Balley smiles.

Xorus says, "Grishom could have made this offer quite some time ago if he wished. Larsya was almost certainly afflicted with the epochxin through Raznel, one of his long-time associates, and I have little doubt her blood still has intrinsic value to his or their plans."

You quietly whisper to Balley, "Likewise. I joked about him to Stormy--and he noticed, but so be it. Even if he can read minds or something, he knows I don't fear him."

Cruxophim begins to wave his bone pipe in a circle and suddenly the bowl of his pipe begins to glow a bright cherry red. Soon fragrant smoke begins to rise into the air.

Balley softly asks, "Can I ask you a follow up question?"

Lylia whispers something to Balley.

Xorus nods slowly.

Speaking to Xorus, Zosopage says, "Perhaps he was unsure of its success until more recently."

Ysharra whispers something to Cruxophim.

Cruxophim whispers something to Ysharra.

Cruxophim chuckles.

Fahlo just arrived.

Ysharra looks thoughtfully at Cruxophim.

You grin at Fahlo.

Cruxophim gives Fahlo a strong, encouraging smile.

Balley softly asks, "I know you said you were working on a process to refine the blood, have you tried it on anyone yet? Or do you plan on it before doing it on her?"

Xorus says, "There is no one to try it upon. Larsya has a unique condition."

Fahlo smiles at Cruxophim.

You agree with Xorus.

Fahlo bows to you.

Balley grins.

You curtsy to Fahlo.

Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

Xorus says, "In any event. The reason he is choosing to make his offer now could be any of one or several things. But I will allow Cruxophim to speak."

You nod at Xorus.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Cruxophim.

Lylia whispers something to Cruxophim.

Cruxophim calmly begins, "I think the one thing that we can count on regarding Grishom Stone is that he has larger agenda in mind. That does not always preclude helping when it suits -him-, nor does it always mean hellfire and destruction in the process... but one can always rely on the fact he will do whatever aids him; sometimes this is of mutual benefit to others, sometimes... it is not. But regardless, he is reliable in the one aspect."

Lylia nods in agreement at Cruxophim.

You grin at Cruxophim.

Raelee says, "Perhaps I may add to that notion..."

Xorus nods.

Raelee glances at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim calmly opines, "What I'm saying is that I absolutely do not trust him... of course not. But I've observed enough to believe that there may be instances where mutual benefit may occur."

You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim calmly continues, "While it's not ultimately my decision, I see little point in playing "guessing games" regarding Stone's intent. He will no doubt accomplish what he wants to accomplish whether or not we agree, and I believe our efforts are better spent fighting the elements we DO know are threats."

You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim politely concludes, "That is all."

Lylia gazes admiringly at Cruxophim.

Lylia nods once.

Balley nods at Cruxophim.

Balley smiles.

Cruxophim gives Balley a strong, encouraging smile.

Cruxophim whispers something to Balley.

Raelee says, "The counterpoint I would add is that... your response to this dilemma cannot be purely about Stone and it cannot be purely about the Lady Caulfield."

Raelee says, "Stone does what benefits him, even if the benefit is not immediate or direct."

Cruxophim nods understandingly at Zosopage.

Cruxophim rubs Balley tenderly.

Lylia nods at Raelee.

Raelee says, "Perhaps the lot of you should be thinking in the same fashion."

Cruxophim points at Raelee.

Speaking to Raelee, Lylia says, "He is reliable in that regard, yes."

You nod understandingly at Raelee.

Cruxophim chuckles.

Cruxophim taps his bone pipe on the ground, cleaning it of ashes and a few glowing embers.

Speaking pleasantly to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "That is rather what I meant, indirectly. If Stone will take from us what benefits him, why should we not do the same? With caution, of course."

Raelee says, "There is potential for... revolutionary advancement in our understanding of several topics in developing this cure."

Cruxophim nods faintly at Fahlo.

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

Raelee says, "To simply acquiesce to Stone means a great loss of opportunity."

You grin slowly at Raelee.

Speaking pleasantly to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "Also true."

Raelee says, "Thus it should not always be about what he stands to lose or gain, but also what we stand to gain outside of simply curing the girl."

You nod once at Raelee.

Cruxophim tosses a knowing glance toward Raelee, taps his nose, and then points at her.

Raelee says, "This is not emergent. Her condition, while unpleasant, is stable."

Raelee nods.

Luxelle nods to you.

You nod at Luxelle.

You tilt your head slightly toward Luxelle, noting the subtle changes in her muscles and breathing.

Speaking wryly to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "I'll be frank: I trust you and Xorus -far- more than I would ever trust Stone. Just trying to offer a possible counterpoint."

Luxelle says, "Our august and learned panel members have certainly given you some of the things to think about regarding Grishom Stone, and what I want to bring to mind is a couple of the other times this person's influence has been felt here. Some of you were here when Ithzirs from places of nightmares plagued us. Some of you were here when Elithain Cross and Grishom Stone rained horrors almost nightly at the Landing."

Speaking heartily to Danthius, Dwi says, "Gittin squishy."

Cruxophim nods absently at Luxelle.

You ponder the meaning of Luxelle's existence.

Raelee nods at Cruxophim.

Lylia nods at Luxelle.

Luxelle says, "So when people say they do not trust him ... these are the reasons why. Death follows many of Stone's ... interests. And sometimes not in small amounts."

The ball of black fire in Lylia's hand diminishes in size, before disappearing into nothingness.

Lylia dusts off her hands.

Luxelle says, "And sometimes not in ways most of us can even stomach."

Luxelle nods to you.

You nod at Luxelle.

Fahlo adds, "Or anticipate.."

Cruxophim folds his arms, appearing to listen intently. He nods from time to time.

Luxelle nods at Fahlo.

Roelaren says, "True."

Shinann folds her hands behind her back.

Balley smiles.

Fahlo says, "We function at a disadvantage as it is he who has come to us with his proposal first.. working in the blinds, as it were."

Cruxophim nods approvingly at Raelee.

Additional Thoughts on Grishom Stone, From Zosopage, Leafiara, Shinann, Lylia, Raelee, Ysharra, Xorus, Cruxophim

Zosopage says, "Not sure if anyone said this but... Grishom has nothing to lose."

Speaking gently to Fahlo, Cruxophim assures, "That is usually the case with Stone."

Cruxophim snickers.

Speaking to Zosopage, you acknowledge, "Very true. Even if we decline, he's no worse off than he is now."

You nod at Zosopage.

You correct, "Well... if Breshon declines, that is."

Speaking to Zosopage, Shinann says, "We do not know that for sure. He might be very upset his offer was not taken. I will be pleased to see that."

Zosopage nods to you.

Lylia says, "Just so. It is not up to us. It is up to him, and how we present the case may make the difference."

Lylia says, "For those who do not know, Breshon has already delivered an answer of sorts."

Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.

Lylia offhandedly says, "But of course, we may not have time to talk of this, after we have spent so much time discussing the elections in Icemule."

Raelee says, "And while it is his choice, there are consequences for him to bear if opts for Stone's aid."

Stormyrain just arrived.

Zosopage says, "True, however I meant that he has nothing to lose in that should he succeed or fail, he is in the same position as he was. No loss or gain."

You nod to Stormyrain in greeting.

Melikor smiles at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain smiles at Melikor.

Ysharra kisses Stormyrain tenderly on the cheek.

Chaoswynd grins at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain kisses Ysharra on the cheek.

Balley hugs Stormyrain.

Stormyrain smiles at Chaoswynd.

Chaoswynd gives Stormyrain a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Zosopage greets Stormyrain with a grin.

Raelee says, "Should word reach The Northern Sentinel or the Sun Throne that Baron Caulfield's son accepted the aid of Grishom Stone..."

Raelee shakes her head.

Lylia nods in greeting at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain gives Chaoswynd a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Speaking to Zosopage, you mention, "Which was essentially what Goat said last night--even if Stone were to become more powerful than he is now, from our perspective he's already beyond what we have reason to believe we can deal with."

Raelee says, "... I do not expect them to be sympathetic."

Speaking to Zosopage, you add, "But he might see that differently."

Zosopage nods to you.

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "I would be surprised if they haven't already been informed of the offer itself."

Cruxophim nods grimly at Raelee.

You ponder the meaning of Raelee's existence.

Stormyrain folds her arms over her chest.

Xorus says, "Grishom has surely been watching over my shoulder on this subject. It is fortunate that Breshon has delayed matters by a month, I had not yet reached out to others for refining this method."

Cruxophim nonchalantly jests, "That might not be without its... amusement."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Zosopage asks, "Yes, exactly. He could pretty much wipe this town off the map as it is. What more could he do?"

Lylia nods at Xorus.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Xorus!

Speaking to Zosopage, you speculate, "From our perspective, not much. From Stone's... still more power to gain."

You nod.

You add, "Potentially, anyway."

Stormyrain furrows her brow.

Cruxophim gently rubs his bone pipe. A pale blue glow surrounds the bowl, when it fades away the pipe is full of dark, aromatic tobacco.

Zosopage asks, "It begs to question what would and could that power be used for?"

Raelee says, "And I realize most of those present do not often concern themselves with Imperial politics... but even that should concern you."

Xorus nods at Ysharra.

Raelee says, "A realistic consequence is yet another Commander of the Outpost."

Staring into space, you pause to mull over multiple possibilities and potential nuances.

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "We do tend to go through them on a rather annual basis."

Speaking wryly to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, "Right, the last thing we need is more rumor of dark practices within the Imperial sects in our area."

Raelee says, "Lord Breshon has been... one of low impact. There is little telling what the next one may be."

You grin crookedly at Cruxophim.

Lylia agrees with Raelee.

You nod once.

Cruxophim nonchalantly insists, "What we do should be another matter entirely."

Ysharra says, "We might wind up with another Grand Magister."

You groan at Ysharra.

Luxelle gulps.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Ysharra!

Shinann fidgets.

You dryly admit, "A possibility."

Ysharra takes a moment to observe Shinann.

Shinann glances around the room.

Luxelle nods.

Fahlo asks, "Given all the speculation of what could happen or what couldn't happen... have we made any preparations given the worst case scenarios?"

[while not obvious in edited logs, the event had been going on near 90 minutes by this point, so this talking point (though anyway not officially added to the queue) wasn't discussed either for time constraints or simply because we missed it]

Question #6, From Hoodtralfeck, Answered by Lylia, Cruxophim, Xorus, Stormyrain, Shinann, Leafiara: Killing Raznel and Grishom... and Letting Larsya Die

Luxelle says, "Hoodtralfeck has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Hoodtralfeck.

You tilt your head slightly toward Hoodtralfeck, noting the subtle changes in his muscles and breathing.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Hellos everyone."

Stormyrain looks thoughtfully at Fahlo.

Stormyrain smiles at Hoodtralfeck.

Stormyrain greets, "Evening, Hoodie."

Lylia nods at Hoodtralfeck.

Cruxophim gives Hoodtralfeck a strong, encouraging smile.

Luxelle says, "And if there are any other questions, the queue is currently empty, please raise your hand to be added to the list."

You nod in agreement at Luxelle.

Hoodtralfeck says, "So I not been around much and don't know a lot about what's going on but I know enough to have made up my mind."

You ponder the meaning of Hoodtralfeck's existence.

Deep in thought, Lylia laces her fingers before her.

Shinann looks thoughtfully at Hoodtralfeck.

Hoodtralfeck recites:

"I have a question for any panelist or other persons present that have power

For a moment let's forget about this poor girl with the blood illness

I wish to hear your unfiltered thoughts and ideas on this."

Cruxophim cocks his head at Hoodtralfeck.

Hoodtralfeck recites:

"So my real question is.

Do any of you have a plan or least a idea of how to really deal with or better Kill permanently Raznel, Stone, and any others colluding with the enemy?

Because I believe that we can't risk saving one or even 100 lives now, if it puts possibly all of Elanthia at risk later?'

It don't matter WHO the person is that's sick, even if I was the one poisoned I would say kill them both and let me die, just let me watch Stone die before I croak."

Stormyrain folds her hands behind her back.

Cruxophim chuckles to himself.

Speaking mildly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim states, "Perhaps."

Lylia gazes with interest at Hoodtralfeck.

Xorus raises an eyebrow.

You comment, "A strong opinion."

Hoodtralfeck recites:

"If ya know how to kill them don't say it here"

You pleasantly inquire, "Panelists?"

You flash a quick grin.

Stormyrain nods at Cruxophim.

Lylia says, "There are a few possibilities in mind, yes. As you wisely note, I am not in the habit of telling a roomful of people how I might slay a self-styled "Blood God."."

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Zosopage!

Shinann agrees with Lylia.

Zosopage grins.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Lylia!

Cruxophim nods absently.

Lylia says, "Raznel is a different matter. She is no god or goddess."

You nod at Cruxophim.

Fulvous says, "To kill permanently seems a mighty difficult thing to be done around here."

Lylia says, "Yet she is also powerful, and her unnatural lifespan could meet its end in a few ways."

Lylia says, "I prefer not to speak more on this."

Speaking calmly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim answers, "This goes back to the "guessing game" I mentioned earlier. Yes, we should ABSOLUTELY be cunning and shrewd in our dealings with Stone -- or other adversaries -- as Magister Raelee noted.. but we cannot work with data we do not have, and it is counterproductive to insert false or unverified data to fill in the gaps."

Speaking quietly to Balley, Pukk whispers aloud, "You cover them with tart filling and throw a bunch of halflings at him..that will do him in for sure."

You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.

Raelee nods slightly at Cruxophim.

Ysharra says, "I don't think I would want to feed Raznel to anyone. I don't think it'd work out well for the diners."

Hoodtralfeck says, "But it's one person and as ya said we don't know what he gets out of it. It's safer to let them die and deny Stone of what he wants."

Pukk quietly says, "I don't know. Halflings have a good stomach..they can take it."

Fulvous asks, "Who pray tell is this Raznel?"

Speaking mildly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim concludes, "I think we would be far better suited carefully obtaining that data whenever and wherever we can, rather that swinging at things we merely perceive to be threats with no knowledge of how to actually -stop- them."

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Lylia asks, "You propose killing Larsya and removing any possible benefit to Stone, then?"

Xorus says, "The blood of the poor girl was key to destroying those with the Everblood."

Lylia raises an eyebrow.

Speaking to Fulvous, Hoodtralfeck says, "Bug witch."

Xorus says, "It is no leap of the imagination to think it is still useful to that end."

Luxelle's face turns slightly pale.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Not killing."

Lylia nods at Xorus.

You agree with Xorus.

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Shinann asks, "Do you have any family?"

Hoodtralfeck says, "Let them die of the illness and study it."

Ysharra says, "Naimorai Kestrel, in her older incarnation. She is who inflicted the local hathlyn with a blood plague nearly two years ago."

Cruxophim chuckles to himself.

Roelaren says, "Rather oblique."

You nod at Ysharra.

Lylia whispers something to Fulvous.

Hoodtralfeck says, "That's a horrible thing to say, but if it means stopping or delaying Stone's plans then I think it safer."

Lylia says, "Her illness is stable, not deadly."

Cruxophim examines his fingernails.

Lylia clarifies, "At least, not at this point."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Then don't let Stone near her."

Speaking dubiously to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim inquires, "Just killing anything and everything we think might be of use to Stone?"

Speaking to Ysharra, you say, "Not only the local ones, either, depending on your definition of local."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Not killing."

Ysharra says, "She is a young girl who has had her mind and her youth taken from her."

Speaking drolly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim inquires, "What then?"

Hoodtralfeck says, "Denying him, the other person dying is a side effect."

Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

Balley softly asks, "What?"

Hoodtralfeck says, "Like I said."

Balley softly says, "Sorry."

Lylia says, "Denying him has its own consequences."

Stormyrain abruptly says, "That is not our choice, or decision, to make."

Hoodtralfeck says, "If I was the one that was sick, I would be saying this same thing now."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Better both us gone than both us alive."

You clarify, "As has been mentioned, there's no indication Larsya will die from this."

Speaking amusedly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim reasons, "You really think he just won't find another way, regardless? And as Stormy said: not our choice."

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Stormyrain says, "We are not the decision making entity here. You have to understand, our town cannot say yes or no, to this."

You nod at Stormyrain.

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Indirectly. She is now in the body of a very elderly woman."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "... elderly individuals die from all manner of things."

Speaking scornfully to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim soothes, "Your approach is precisely what I was talking about."

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Hoodtralfeck!

Speaking to Raelee, you inquire, "But her aging has halted, no?"

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Shinann says, "It is not our decision. If you want to write to Lord Caulfield and suggest he give up his beloved sister for experimentation, then I suggest you take that route."

Stormyrain says, "The person deciding is Breshon. He is not a citizen of the Landing, and does not reside here; nor has he asked us to make the decision for him."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Yes."

Speaking to Raelee, you concede, "Ah... yes, she could easily have a very unfortunate accident, of course."

You nod at Raelee.

Zosopage says, "I'm sure other cases of this may pop up or already be in existence. Grishom will get what he wants one way or another, one time or another."

Ysharra says, "Being of advanced age has its own host of problems. Just because her aging has stopped doesn't mean she is not still frail and suffering."

You nod at Ysharra.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Hoodtralfeck says, "I just know that with Stone, when he offers help there is a catch and it's always been worse then what he helped us with."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Accident, with a more fragile body. A weak heart. More susceptible to common illness that a healthy, young individual might survive."

Speaking to Zosopage, Stormyrain says, "Mayhaps, though again, there is power in the giving of the blood, versus taking it without permission."

You nod at Raelee.

Lylia says, "If she were killed, then there would be no further decision-making needed, but it would slam shut a great many doors I prefer to leave open. 'Not our decision to make' hardly enters into it; dead is dead. But I am not going to be the one to kill her -- and the town will prosecute anyone who would take such matters into his or her own hands."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Zosopage says, "If there is another case of it they may be less cautious."

Speaking gently to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim deadpans, "Thank you, I had not considered that possibility."

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Shinann says, "That statement is true. There is a catch."

Shinann nods.

Cruxophim rests a gentle hand on Hoodtralfeck's arm.

You mention, "Might even be the Empire prosecuting, if someone tried such a thing."

Ysharra says, "Humans tend to age in a much more pronounced way, as well. The effects of time can be severe."

Hoodtralfeck grins at Cruxophim.

Hoodtralfeck shrugs.

Lylia says, "It would bring about all manner of pain from any number of directions. The consequences dramatically outweigh the possible benefit. I did think of it, of course."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Anyways just had to see if anyone had a idea of killing him."

Hoodtralfeck says, "I picked up nobody does."

Cruxophim thoughtfully states, "This is precisely what I mean: If there is always a "catch" with Grishom Stone, why should there not be a "catch" with us? When we plan, construct, and implement a plan together... we've seen what fruits it can yield."

Lylia smiles at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain smiles at Lylia.

Xorus reminds, "Grishom himself is essentially immortal through Everblood. The girl's blood is dangerous if not lethal to him."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Hoodtralfeck says, "Must have a idea of enemies' plan before we can plan, basic warfare."

Lylia nods at Xorus.

Speaking calmly to Xorus, Cruxophim reminds, "Not necessarily. We have absolutely no reason to believe it is even remotely the same strain any longer."

Stormyrain gives a sidelong glance at Shinann.

Speaking softly to Xorus, Ysharra asks, "Could he be eliminating her as a possible contagion?"

Shinann nods at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain looks thoughtfully at Xorus.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Raznel should be able to be killed, we did kill Albright."

Speaking to Xorus, Stormyrain says, "Used to be. Prior to his...evolution. I wonder if that still holds true now. But it is a theory that should be thoroughly examined. His wishing to help her also removes a potential threat to him."

Fulvous says, "I have found in my time that the best laid plans are those designed with varying results. That way if they go awry they may still bear fruit."

Speaking mildly to Stormyrain, Cruxophim agrees, "I have.. considered it on more than one occasion."

Stormyrain offers, "I still think there is a link to the blood of the Wyrdeep elves here, for what reason I cannot say yet."

Stormyrain furrows her brow.

Shinann agrees with Stormyrain.

Stormyrain adds, "Something he wants from that blood line."

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, you mention, "Since I didn't hear any of our panelists bring this up, Thadston does still intend to pursue Raznel. He says she was last seen headed toward the Bleaklands, and he's been combing through Dennet's notes to understand more about the area."

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Stormyrain says, "The problem with Raznel is finding her, at this point."

You nod at Hoodtralfeck.

Cruxophim bemusedly suggests, "Or perhaps we're entirely overthinking it, and he simply wants to make a demonstration of power to show that he is not to be interfered with. Wouldn't that be amusing?"

Cruxophim chuckles to himself.

Hoodtralfeck nods.

Xorus says, "It may be useful for breaking the druidic wardings on the Deadfall. It is difficult to say."

Hoodtralfeck says, "So still mortal."

You nod in agreement.

Speaking to you, Stormyrain offers, "Though if he becomes interim Marshal he would have to temper that with the needs of the town."

Stormyrain looks thoughtfully at Xorus.

Speaking to Stormyrain, you reply, "Yes, that's exactly why I asked him about it at the debate."

You flash a quick grin.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Just throw bug killer on her."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Fulvous asks, "Is there no means of baiting her in?"

Zosopage says, "Could be a way to stop that blood from ever harming him."

Speaking to Xorus, Stormyrain murmurs, "I did not consider that. With the blood he would have access to try and find the heart of the world."

Stormyrain looks lost in thought.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Cruxophim nods absently at Stormyrain.

Luxelle says, "He could be currying Imperial favor for his meddling, and has his sights far beyond us."

Stormyrain says, "Baiting her? I'm sure there is something, but what--I'm not sure."

Lylia surveys the area.

Speaking to Fulvous, Stormyrain says, "She's not exactly..sane."

Fulvous says, "The answer then is to find that, what."

Stormyrain nods in agreement at Fulvous.

You nod.

Zosopage says, "There are so many variables with this it drives the mind batty."

Stormyrain looks over at Balley and shakes her head.

You grin at Zosopage.

Fulvous asks, "Can you cast a spell that makes us all insane so that we might think as she?"

Lylia nods at Zosopage.

Shinann agrees with Zosopage.

Cruxophim shakes his head, totally at a loss.

Speaking to Fulvous, Lylia says, "She was mentally fragile before her transformation in many ways."

Stormyrain slowly says, "That would be more Cruxophim's area of things, than Shinann's..."

Stormyrain shifts her weight.

Cruxophim grins wryly at Stormyrain.

Fulvous ponders.

Fulvous nods at Lylia.

Cruxophim points a finger at his temple and twirls it slowly as he gives Fulvous a sideways glance.

Stormyrain nods slowly at Balley.

Cruxophim winks at Fulvous.

Stormyrain finger-combs her lustrous hair.

Fulvous leans on Cruxophim.

Cruxophim leans on Fulvous.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Yeah Crux is blood mage, he should have best idea what Stone's up to."

Fulvous says, "You smell like a long dead reprobate still my friend."

Cruxophim affably replies, "Thanks."

You mention, "As is Stormy, and a seer furthermore."

Fulvous smiles at Cruxophim.

Lylia says, "We are fortunate to have many blood mages, alchemical scholars, and historians among us."

Speaking teasingly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim responds, "We're not all the same, you know."

Fahlo nods at Lylia.

Stormyrain says, "--and we all have theories but nothing confirmed about Grishom."

Lylia notes, "And a few humble sorceresses too."

Speaking lightly to Cruxophim, you say, "Can see that just from the two of you."

You grin.

You glance between Cruxophim and Stormyrain.

You nod once.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Ya know more about it than me."

Hoodtralfeck nods at Cruxophim.

Stormyrain smiles at you.

You wink at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain glances with dismay at Fulvous.

Fulvous laughs!

Speaking mildly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim concedes, "Although yes, I have been studying Stone's methods for many years now. However, that does not mean I am privy to his "secret plans" and what not. We do not converse over tea, as much as some seem to think it."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Hoodtralfeck chuckles.

Lylia muses, "Now that there is a tea kettle in the mayoral office, perhaps he could be talked into visiting for a cup."

Luxelle chews on her fingernails.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Maybe ya should."

Hoodtralfeck nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking offhandedly to Cruxophim, you admit, "I wouldn't mind doing that myself, to be honest."

Lylia chuckles.

Speaking amusedly to you, Cruxophim inquires, "Having tea with Stone?"

Fahlo quips, "Strikes me more as a coffee drinker, honestly."

Speaking nonchalantly to Cruxophim, you say, "Exactly that. If he wanted me dead, he'd kill me either way, so..."

You realize there are some important matters you should tend to . . . later.

You admit, "I'm more curious than anything, at this point."

Stormyrain says, "Pardon me. I have a corpse to fetch quickly."

Stormyrain grins at Fulvous.

Stormyrain nods.

You gaze in amusement at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain equips a dark oak-hafted waraxe hanging from one of the straps on her leather harness.

Stormyrain just went south.

Cruxophim grins at Balley.

Cruxophim chuckles.

Fulvous smiles.

Speaking to Cruxophim, you add, "And maybe he could explain what he means about bringing life and creation, or whatever he was going on."

You wryly jest, "Because usually that's my job."

Additional Considerations From Zosopage, Luxelle, Fulvous, Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim, Fahlo, Lylia, Leafiara, Stormyrain, Xorus

Zosopage says, "I just find it hard to think what more power he could gain from this that would affect us or Elanthia as a whole."

You chuckle.

Luxelle says, "Waiting is never fun, never easy, but it is the high road, and one of the most sure pathways to wisdom."

Fulvous asks, "Are these foes we face in cahoots, do they act as one?"

Shinann folds her arms over her chest.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Maybe he wishes to make his own realm and this helps somehow."

Speaking calmly to you, Cruxophim guesses, "I would presume he means the end to whatever apotheosis he is seeking. Whatever transformative power he is after... I would not imagine it will end with him."

Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

You ponder the meaning of Cruxophim's existence.

You nod.

Speaking to Zosopage, Fahlo asks, "It's certain that she would just be a small part in a larger plan.. are we aware of any adjacent moves he has made recently? And how might they figure into what he may do?"

Speaking to Fulvous, Lylia says, "I do not believe they have reason to make common cause, at least at this point. They have in the past -- but I doubt they walk parallel paths now."

Speaking to Fahlo, Zosopage says, "The most recent dealing with him would be Crux and Evician."

Fulvous says, "I see."

Speaking calmly to Zosopage, Cruxophim reminds, "There were the homunculi in the crates aboard that ship."

Hoodtralfeck asks, "Oh what happened?"

Hoodtralfeck says, "I not heard this."

Fulvous asks, "But they found commonality in the past?"

Zosopage says, "Well ya but that wasn't him directly. Or at least to my knowledge."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Fahlo asks, "Do you see any overlap between the recent events which have transpired between the crates, you and Evician and now Larsya?"

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, you explain, "Basically, a ship filled with flesh golems looking like Stone was found at our dock."

Stormyrain just arrived, dragging the body of Izden with her.

You glance appraisingly at Izden.

Stormyrain asks, "Healer and priest please?"

You nod at Stormyrain.

Shinann blinks.

Shinann points at Roelaren.

Shinann asks, "Do you mind?"

Shinann smiles at Roelaren.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Oh yeh heard something bout that."

You grin at Hoodtralfeck.

Izden gives a ghostly chuckle.

Speaking calmly to Hoodtralfeck, Cruxophim explains, "Stone showed up one night, apparently aware of my condition, and offered to cure it if Evician would take on some of my corruption. Likely a test run for whatever it is he plans to do."

The ghostly voice of Izden quietly says, "I don't mind at all."

Stormyrain smiles at Izden.

Suddenly, the beveled diamond seated inside Izden's bronze insignia falls to the floor by his corpse.

You pick up a beveled diamond.

Shinann says, "Or I can."

Cruxophim rubs Izden.

[healing, chrismifying]

Hoodtralfeck nods at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

You curiously say, "I know people brought up the test run theory last night, and tonight too..."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Hoodtralfeck says, "Can't tell ya got any better since ya hiding with the pendant."

Shinann says, "This is a live demonstration of our rescue abilities. Unplanned."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Hate those things."

Shinann clears her throat.

You uncertainly say, "But I'm not sure I understand the connection between Crux's affliction and Larsya's."

You clarify, "Or why the former could be a test run."

You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.

Cruxophim gently explains, "Not my... underlying condition, simply whatever Rone injected me with to cut off my flows from the magic."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Hoodtralfeck!

You ponder the meaning of Cruxophim's existence.

[raising]

Zosopage says, "Perhaps the same affliction affects different people differently."

Luxelle shifts her weight.

Hoodtralfeck says, "Oh that."

Hoodtralfeck says, "Ok."

Lylia says, "Decay. Rot. Liquescence."

Stormyrain says, "Perhaps it's as simple as removing something introduced into blood."

Shinann says, "That was a joke... I am not good at jokes."

Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Izden says, "Thank you."

Hoodtralfeck says, "So ya still a lich then."

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Shinann!

Lylia says, "Age is a kind of rotting. The parallels are closer than they might appear."

Lylia looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

Speaking quietly to you, Izden says, "Thank you kindly."

You turn toward Izden and render a sharp hand salute.

You grin.

Lylia clarifies, "Aging among the races susceptible to it, that is."

Xorus says, "Cruxophim had a poison causing permanent changes to his constitution. Stone was demonstrating his ability to rip out foreign admixtures from the original host blood."

Shinann begins to look a little better.

Speaking quietly to Shinann, Izden asks, "Thank you for the healing. Do you accept tips?"

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking carefully to Lylia, Cruxophim admits, "I... suspect it was something else, not simply the rot."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Hoodtralfeck says, "Ya still my favorite zombie, just don't lose ya mind or we have to put ya in graveyard for turnips to kill you."

Speaking suddenly to Xorus, you say, "Ah! A perfect explanation, thank you."

You nod at Xorus.

Izden offers you an uncut emerald. Click ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

You accept Izden's offer and are now holding an uncut emerald.

Cruxophim tosses a knowing glance toward Xorus, taps his nose, and then points at him.

You bob a quick curtsy to Izden.

Fulvous says, "Youth has its own form of rot, it attacks the mind more commonly."

Lylia begins chuckling at Fulvous!

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Fulvous!

Cruxophim taps Izden lightly on his shoulder.

Stormyrain gazes respectfully at Xorus.

Lylia says, "Perhaps, but if so, it is a condition that solves itself."

Cruxophim sets about preparing Izden to be as presentable as possible.

Cruxophim gives Izden a strong, encouraging smile.

Fulvous says, "Aye."

Cruxophim begins to wave his bone pipe in a circle and suddenly the bowl of his pipe begins to glow a bright cherry red. Soon fragrant smoke begins to rise into the air.

Fulvous says, "And is not often well camouflaged."

Wrapping Up

Speaking thoughtfully to Luxelle, you ask, "I suppose we've gone as in depth on that question as we can, for now... shall we wrap up the evening?"

Cruxophim shows Melikor his bone pipe.

Speaking quietly to himself, Izden says, "That's right, we got tattoos that night."

Stormyrain nods in agreement at Chaoswynd.

Luxelle nods to you.

Stormyrain glances with dismay at Izden.

You nod once.

Luxelle grins at you.

Stormyrain looks at Izden and gags.

You recite:

"That brings us to the end of our time tonight, so on behalf of the TownCrier, we thank you again for coming out with your questions!"

Cruxophim recites:

"Criernuts!!"

[Crux makes donuts]

Melikor smiles quietly to himself.

Fahlo bows to you.

Luxelle exclaims, "Thank you, everyone!"

Luxelle beams!

Melikor applauds politely.

You recite:

"As usual, some of our panelists might--or might not--choose to remain a while for further discussion. It is up to them."

Zosopage says, "Well answered by you all."

Ysharra says, "Thank you for the conversations."

Aeith nods.

Fulvous asks, "Was anything resolved, any lan established?"

Luxelle stands up.

Izden agrees with Stormyrain.

Stormyrain shudders.

Cruxophim nods in agreement at Ysharra.

Cruxophim pleasantly praises, "Thank you all, for attending."

Cruxophim kisses Luxelle tenderly on the cheek.

Shinann says, "I think we lost our person that wanted to join the militia."

Cruxophim gives you a lingering kiss on the cheek.

You recite:

"And often some of them--not all--are available for discussion even outside these events, of course."

You grin at Shinann.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Shinann says, "Darcena."

Ysharra says, "A few frameworks were sorted out and nailed in place, I feel."

Balley softly says, "Thank you for your insights everyone."

Speaking to Shinann, Stormyrain says, "Oh, I can talk to her and help her with the application."

Shinann nods at Stormyrain.

You recite:

"As some of you know, Bloodriven will be opening for visitors in five days... and they will be open longer than normal this time, until the first of next month."

Chaoswynd chuckles to himself.

You recite:

"Since it's an important tourist destination... tonight will be the only Town Hall this month."

Lylia says, "If anyone has further questions, I am in my office...not a tavern."

Lylia gently rubs her hand over her jacquard overgown, admiring the fit.

Cruxophim gives Lylia a strong, encouraging smile.

Ysharra grins at Lylia.

Speaking to Shinann, Zosopage says, "Did you get a chance to read that yet? if not no worries. I still need to dig up my notes from a box in a locker somewhere if you wish to ask anything."

You recite:

"Please keep an ear out for further notice of when the next meeting will be afterward."

You nod once.

Stormyrain glances dubiously at Chaoswynd.

You recite:

"Thank you again, and good evening!"

You grin.

Cruxophim nods understandingly at Balley.

Chaoswynd begins chuckling at Stormyrain!

Melikor gives a sidelong glance at Ysharra.

Lylia nods once.

Ysharra rubs Melikor tenderly.

Cruxophim rubs Balley tenderly.

Speaking to Zosopage, Shinann says, "I have not... I am sorry."

Cruxophim gives Balley a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Zosopage nods.

Ysharra grins slowly at Melikor.

Melikor begins chuckling at Ysharra!

You smile at Fahlo.

Fulvous exclaims, "Thank you Stormyrain for letting me know about this meeting!"

Cruxophim rubs Balley tenderly.

You grin at Fulvous.

Stormyrain smiles at Fulvous.

Chaoswynd appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Bonus Question, From Leafiara, Answered by Zosopage, Stormyrain, Shinann: New Militia Recruits

Speaking to Shinann, Zosopage says, "Also I wil aid the militia in any way that I can if needed."

Stormyrain says, "Thank you for attending."

Fulvous smiles.

Speaking curiously to Zosopage, you ask, "Are you part of the militia?"

(Lylia gathers her skirts and steps over a suspicious-looking stain on the tavern floor, a brief expression of distaste curling her lips.)

Mayor Lylia just went south.

Fulvous says, "I like to help where I can."

Zosopage looks over at you and shakes his head.

Shinann smiles.

Speaking to Zosopage, you say, "Neither am I, even though I have so much respect for Stormy and Shinann..."

Melikor winks at Ysharra.

Speaking curiously to Zosopage, you ask, "What's your reason for not joining?"

Cruxophim gives Balley a lingering kiss on the cheek.

You sincerely say, "I'm wondering honestly."

Cruxophim cocks his head at Zosopage.

You nod at Zosopage.

Zosopage says, "Still a member of The Fury."

You tilt your head slightly toward Zosopage, noting the subtle changes in his muscles and breathing.

Cruxophim picks up a strip of rolton jerky.

Cruxophim offers Hoodtralfeck a strip of rolton jerky.

Cruxophim grins at Hoodtralfeck.

Hoodtralfeck accepts Cruxophim's rolton jerky.

Speaking to Zosopage, Stormyrain says, "You can be both."

You uncertainly ask, "Does one preclude the other?"

Fulvous says, "I will work on my insane thinking so I might fathom this witch's mind."

You nod at Stormyrain.

Zosopage says, "True."

Cruxophim looks over at you and shakes his head.

You flash a quick grin at Fulvous.

Stormyrain smiles.

Cruxophim grins at Fulvous.

Stormyrain leans against the window, taking a momentary rest.

Hoodtralfeck asks, "What was that?"

Balley smiles at Zosopage and says, "You should become part of it dear."

Balley giggles.

Speaking to Zosopage, you say, "There's a question I would have asked if I were in the audience and not hosting, so I think I'll indulge and ask it anyway..."

You flash a quick grin.

Zosopage tickles Balley into laughing.

Speaking to Hoodtralfeck, Melikor says, "Floor jerky."

Cruxophim flashes Melikor a toothy grin.

Fahlo offers you a glimmering blue essence shard. Click ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

Luxelle gives Stormyrain a friendly hug.

Speaking curiously to Zosopage, you ask, "Would any of the three interim marshal candidates being selected make you more likely to join?"

You accept Fahlo's offer and are now holding a glimmering blue essence shard.

Luxelle hugs Shinann.

You curtsy gracefully to Fahlo.

Cruxophim hugs Stormyrain.

Stormyrain gives a sidelong glance at Izden.

Stormyrain gives Luxelle a friendly hug.

Fahlo bows to you.

Speaking appreciatively to Fahlo, you say, "Thank you."

Stormyrain stares at Cruxophim.

Shinann smiles at Luxelle.

Luxelle hugs you, and you wrap her in a warm embrace, stirring the faint scent of the unique tanginess of the sea around her.

You give Luxelle a friendly hug.

Luxelle hugs Roelaren, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

You give Luxelle a strong, encouraging smile.

Cruxophim places his hands on his hips and eyes Shinann with a skeptical look.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Stormyrain states, "Off me, winged bat."

Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "That sounds like a euphemism. And I'm not going to think about it anymore."

Stormyrain dusts herself off.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Stormyrain!

Zosopage says, "If it were Valicar I'd answer yes but otherwise I do not really know them."

Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "The floor in here is always sticky."

Stormyrain mutters under her breath.

Shinann appears to be trying hard not to grin.

You gaze in amusement at Zosopage.

Fulvous says, "A good eve to you all, I must now go release more souls."

Speaking gently to Stormyrain, Cruxophim corrects, "The correct term is 'vesperti.'"

Cruxophim snickers.

You turn toward Fulvous and render a sharp salute with your uncut emerald.

Fulvous waves.

You encouragingly say, "Happy huntin'."

You glance between Stormyrain and Shinann.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Stormyrain repeats, "Winged. Bat."

Speaking to Ysharra, Melikor says, "I would not eat something off of it, yes."

Lady Luxelle just went south.

Stormyrain can offer Cruxophim only a blank expression.

Cruxophim taps his bone pipe on the ground, cleaning it of ashes and a few glowing embers.

Speaking dubiously to Stormyrain, Cruxophim reasons, "That's redundant."

Stormyrain gets a blank look on her face.

Cruxophim plops a blackened bone pipe into a large compartment inside the ebonwood kit.

You curiously ask, "If I may, captains... you've already answered who you'd prefer of the candidates given the current militia roster, but do you think any of them would be best for expanding it?"

Shinann says, "Thrayzar will be back."

You decisively say, "He will, of course."

Shinann says, "I am sure he would like to hear their suggestions."

Speaking wryly to Shinann, Cruxophim warns, "One way or the other."

You clarify, "But I mean for now."

Zosopage says, "To be honest. I'd think Thadston would be the best candidate."

Shinann glances at Cruxophim.

You ponder the meaning of Zosopage's existence.

Speaking bluntly to Zosopage, Cruxophim admits, "Honestly, I agree."

Stormyrain says, "I agree with Shinann. In the meantime, though, I think that Thadston will attract one type of applicant, Kilron would attract another, and Khylon a third."

Stormyrain looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

You nod at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain says, "Which would bring in more? Who is to say."

Shinann nods at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain says, "I think all have the potential to increase our numbers in their limited time with us."

You flippantly admit, "Kilron would be the one most likely to bring me in."

You chuckle.

Balley softly says, "Ok I am off for a bit."

You hug Balley, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Balley softly says, "Thank you all for the good information."

Balley softly says, "Talk to you all soon."

Shinann smiles.

You warmly say, "A pleasure to be here and to have you."

You turn toward Balley and render a sharp salute with your uncut emerald.

(Balley hugs everyone.)

Zosopage exclaims, "Thank you for the spells!"

You unfasten the emerald music note pin on your red silk cape and open it, no longer needing the extra protection from the weather outside.

You tuck the blue essence shard into a small pocket inside of your red silk cape.

You tuck the uncut emerald into a small pocket inside of your red silk cape.

You fasten the emerald music note pin on your red silk cape, bracing yourself for the outdoor weather.

Cruxophim pleasantly wishes, "Good evneing, all."

Balley softly says, "Thank you."

You hug Cruxophim, stirring the scent of blood, raw meat, and pungent soil, overshadowed by the tenebrous fetor of decaying flesh from his skin, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Balley softly says, "Take care all."

You turn toward Cruxophim and render a sharp hand salute.

Roelaren says, "Take care all."

Speaking to Shinann, Zosopage says, "I may yet join the militia if you would have me."

Zosopage says, "Just not right at this moment."

You jest, "And now half the room waits for the next Dreavening..."

You snicker.

Balley giggles.

Cruxophim nods while tilting his black silk capotain forward and giving a quick, teeth-flashing grin.

Cruxophim snaps his fingers.

Shadowy tendrils rise from the ground and wrap around Cruxophim's legs as they quickly engulf his entire body. The shadows quickly retreat back into the surroundings, leaving no trace of Cruxophim.

Maiden Balley's group just went south.

You admit, "I constantly feel the pull, but..."

You glance south.

You bemusedly say, "Oh, Balley took him away."

You chortle.

[people start spelling each other up]

Speaking quietly to Stormyrain, Izden says, "Thank you again for the rescue."

Ysharra says, "I said no, my friend. But thank you all the same."

Stormyrain glances south.

You turn toward Stormyrain and render a sharp hand salute.

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Melikor says, "Night all."

You wave to Melikor.

Melikor smiles at you.

You grin at Melikor.

Ysharra nods at Raelee.

Stormyrain raises her eyebrow, the dark bloodjewel half-ring set within only enhancing her skeptical expression.

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Thank you. Your thoughts were particularly helpful."

You nod in agreement at Ysharra.

Speaking to Raelee, you acknowledge, "You raised two very good points that nobody else touched on. As she said... thank you."

You nod at Raelee.

Raelee nods slowly to you.

Speaking carefully to you, Raelee says, "... yes, of course."

Fahlo says, "If you'll excuse me please."

You grin at Raelee.

Speaking to you, Raelee suggests, "Consider them."

You nod in agreement at Raelee.
