Issue

Outlined is a list of requested Private Property upgrades. Many of these requests have been put forth by other people and often multiple times from different people. Upgrade requests are not in any particular order but they are categorized for easier browsing. All players are invited to edit this document.

Request

Room Additions

  • Add a room. This was sold once before for elans and included the option of adding in 5 props plus entry/exit portals and a set of 10 ambient messages. This was later sold during at least one Mania for bloodscrip, however those who had previously purchased an extra room for elans were not eligible.
Note: When properties were last sold via Simucoin store, they each included six rooms, however they were advertised as having a maximum of ten rooms, with potential expansions available at some unspecified later point in time.
  1. Alternatively, add a predesigned room, or a predesigned room with a variety of different options. Example room types could include a bedroom, a kitchen (see below), a bathing room, a garden, a library, a study, a workshop, etc.
  • Add a special room, where the special component is one of the following:
  1. Magical workshop
  2. Summoning chamber
  3. Deity shrine
  4. Functional forge
  5. Functional cobbling workshop
Note: When properties were last sold via Simucoin store, they each included one “special” feature (magical workshop, summoning chamber, deity shrine, fishing hole, or teleport key), with the advertised potential to add all of these special features down the road.
  • Add a regular node to an existing room.
  • Remove sanctuary from an existing room.
  • Add a functional kitchen that is functional with the cooking system.
  1. Alternatively, upgrade an existing “kitchen” type room to become functional with the cooking system.
  2. Presumably a kitchen would need a working stove, a working basin for water, storage for cooking supplies and ingredients, an herb box (similar to the ones sold at Ebon Gate 2022), and a trash can. Personal preference is that the stove either has room for multiple things on it or does NOT have fixed cooking tools on it. There are some fixed stoves in game that cannot accommodate cooking tools because there is a tea kettle fixed on top of the stove (or vice versa).
  • Add a functional mount stall. This could potentially utilize the premade stall interior options available at Rumor Woods.
  1. Alternatively add a mount corral that can house multiple mounts.

Objects & Props

  • Add a look/show description to an existing prop. (This is more for older properties that might not have been as fleshed out.)
  • Alter an existing prop certificate or “just one thing” certificate, to be redeemed likely via the assist/referral process.
  • Add EZ scripts to a prop.
  • Add or upgrade something in a room description to be an interactable object, either as linked in the room description or as part of the “You also see” line, complete with a simple script associated with them. This is something along the lines of a mirror, a table, chairs, a lantern or candle, etc.
  • Add a fancy script/scripted item to a room from a list of options. Examples include things like a working stove, telescope, wash basin, etc.
  • Add an already existing scripted item as a permanent prop to a room. If I have a wine press or bath tub, I could request that it be permanently added to a room.
  • Move an item that is interactable in a room so that it is nested in/on/under/behind another object or otherwise imbedded in the room description, as opposed to in the “You also see” line. As an example, I have a foraging item prop I am slowly working on that will ultimately be a vase with flowers in it. I would like to place it on top of the mantle container in my sitting room so that it is permanently there instead of randomly on the floor in the same room, as part of the “You also see” line.
  • Add additional food/drink items.
  1. Alternatively, add pre-written food/drink items to an existing platter surface.
  2. Alternatively, something that would duplicate how the Basketifier functions, where a “publicly available” food/drink item can be inserted into the serving platter, which then turns the food/drink unlimited.
  • Add a BBQ grill.
  • Add a bonfire to an appropriate (outdoors?) room.
  • Add a dartboard.
  • Add a swimming hole.
  • Add a Kynlee clock. I’m referring to it this way since GM Kynlee had originally talked about them at one point in time as a script she was working on. It was described as a scripted grandfather clock that chimes on each hour, and the sound of the chimes is able to be heard throughout the property.
  1. Bonus if able to select different appearances or have it in certificate form that a GALD merchant can alter before placing it in a room.
  • Add a fishing hole. Ideally this would allow an appropriate room that already has some sort of water feature referenced in the description to be updated to incorporate the fishing system.
  1. For added fun, add a fish certificate to add different types of fish to an existing fishing hole.
  2. GM Tivvy mentioned being inspired by the idea of a koi pond that stones could be skipped across.
  3. Note: Fishing holes were one of the “big five” special options available for properties when they were last sold in the Simucoin Store.
  • Add a foraging item prop. This was made available in 2022, most recently with the blank certificates at Ebon Gate 2022 that can be altered via GALD merchant.
  • Add a set of 10 bugs. This was made available during Rumor Woods 2022.
  1. Alternatively, add a list of prewritten bugs, or a certificate that can be altered via a GALD merchant.
  2. Alternatively, a certificate that allows you to find an existing bug in game and add that bug to the certificate, which then can be redeemed with a full set of 10 to replace the bugs in a room.
  • Add a pet creature. Premium homes have a limited system like this, and I’d love to see it reworked and expanded, not just for Premium homes, but also for private properties. Have a few basic animal types, such as a cat, dog, small rodent, song bird, raptor, snake, lizard, etc, then either have a few different options for each, or allow their description to be altered via GALD merchant on a certificate prior to redeeming it. Once redeemed, the pet creature will wander around all rooms flagged as part of the property, have a variety of ambients and interactive verb traps, and (ideally) also be told to go lie down somewhere so it will quietly sleep.

Storage Options

  • Increase storage capacity. This was made available at Ebon Gate 2022.
  • Add a display container from several prewritten types, or via certificate that can be altered by a GALD merchant. As I understand it, there are two types of standard display containers that were made available to property owners during Kynlee’s time. They included:
  1. A single object display container. I have one of these that is a hook object, portrayed as hanging from the wall, though it could be really any type of container. The object on display can be looked at for its show description, read, etc., but is secure from anyone but the property owner from removing it.
  2. A multiple object display container. I understand that these can house multiple items, however the look/read/etc is not visible to anyone looking at them inside the container unless it is open (made not secure) by the property owner. This seems less than ideal for those who enjoy decorating and showing off their homes.
  • Add a lock to an existing container that is not lockable.
  • Add a new storage container.
  • Some sort of bookshelf script that allows books to be stored/written.
  • Add a mannequin that can be used to dress up in an outfit in preparation for charging a shimmer trinket. The MOARdrobe teased for Duskruin 2023 definitely seems to have a lot going toward clothing management!

Quality of Life/Systems/Misc

  • Add a set of ambients, either for a single room or throughout the entire property.
  1. Alternatively, a certificate to add a set of generic pre-written ambients to a given room, such as something related to wind rustling leaves or birdsong for an outdoor room, a maid or servant tidying things up for an indoor room, etc.
  • Add a peep-hole to your front door so you can PEER out through it to see who is knocking.
  • Add a mailbox, which would allow the property owner to check (and ideally also send) mail from their front door. GM Auchand originally teased this as intended for release in 2022, however it either was not completed or was scrapped for release that year.
  • Add a butler/bouncer NPC that can have a list of people whispered to it to be allowed access into a locked portion of a property, whether it’s the front door or another room. This does not necessarily need to be a human(oid) or even sentient, there are a lot of interesting possibilities if it’s an animal, plant, or even a magical object. When told to go “onduty”, the butler/bouncer will automatically clear out any unauthorized guests on the property grounds (outside of those who are on its whispered list). This would facilitate kicking out someone who was brought in as a guest, such as during an open house tour, but who logged out while on the property grounds as an unwelcomed guest. The butler/bouncer could also be told to go take a hike during said open houses.
  • A magical doorknocker - similar to the butler/bouncer idea. Whisper names to it to grant access to the property without a key. If knocked, would announce inside the property that someone wants access.
