The SIT verb is a roleplaying verb that allows players to sit a character down in various ways.
In the field, various creatures maneuvers may force one into the sitting position, in which defensive strength is greatly compromised.

>help sit Usage: SIT - Sit down SIT {self} - Plop to the ground SIT {NEAR} {target} - Sit near a target SIT SET [option] - Shows or sets the SIT verb options available. >verb info sit Verb information for verb "SIT": People targets: STANDING - You sit down next to (target). KNEELING - You move to a sitting position and scoot next to (target). PRONE - You sit up and scoot next to (target). Self target: STANDING - You plop down to the ground in a sitting position. KNEELING - You fall back and plop to the ground in a sitting position. PRONE - With a heavy sigh, you push yourself up to a sitting position. Object targets: STANDING - You sit down next to (target). KNEELING - You move to a sitting position and scoot next to (target). PRONE - You sit up and scoot next to (target). Creature targets: STANDING - You sit down next to (target). KNEELING - You move to a sitting position and scoot next to (target). PRONE - You sit up and scoot next to (target). No target: STANDARD STANDING - You sit down. KNEELING - You move to a sitting position. PRONE - You sit up. HALFLING STANDING - Crossing your legs at the ankles, you slowly lower yourself to the ground and sit tailor fashion. KNEELING - Crossing your legs at the ankles, you move to a sitting position that is tailor fashion. PRONE - Crossing your legs at the ankles, you sit up tailor fashion. NOTE: ONLY first person messaging is listed unless it differs substantially from other versions. Wedding messaging will only work with your spouse, all other targets default to standard messaging. Messaging without an option shown applies to all options. Special scripts and areas may override listed messaging.

>sit help You may SIT in the following styles: DAINTY PLOP SLOW FLOURISH GRACEFUL TIRED STRADDLE BEND >sit dainty You pull out a chair and daintily seat yourself at the table. >sit plop You pull out a chair and plop yourself down at the table. >sit slow You pull out a chair and slowly seat yourself at the table. >sit flourish With exaggerated movements, you quickly pull out a chair and seat yourself at the table with a flourish! >sit graceful You pull out a chair and gracefully seat yourself at the table. >sit tired You pull out a chair and allow gravity to pull you into it. >sit straddle You turn a chair around and straddle the seat, resting your arms across the back. >sit bend You pull out a chair and seat yourself at the table, bending one leg underneath the other.
