Image At Risk For Deletion

Hello, TUMARA. You recently uploaded an image to the wiki, File:EG.Talliver in Twilight1.png, that is missing some information required by Gswiki:Policy. Your image is missing the following information:

  • What is the name of the AI imaging software used to create it?
  • For all images created with AI imaging software, [[Category:AI artwork]] must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.

Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights, specifically the section for AI-Generated Artwork, for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. To add that text to the image file, you will need to click on "Edit Source" on the image file itself and add all of the required information. All articles using this image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.

If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 09:18, 12 November 2024 (CST)

Opps.. I accidently deleted it before reading this! Please double check that everything is good...TUMARA (talk) 14:07, 13 November 2024 (CST)

Thank you very much for updating captions on the image file and articles displaying it! HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 08:58, 19 November 2024 (CST)

Long Logs

Hi there, TUMARA. I want to thank you for your repeat contributions to the wiki. I know that you are active in saving logs to the wiki related to various storylines, especially those tied to Icemule Trace. I noticed that some of your logs are increasingly long to the point where the wiki has difficulty handling them. It looks like you encountered issues with this with your most recent log (The Twilight Stratagem (storyline)/2024-09-25 - Mayor Talliver Rescued (log)), which appears to now be broken into three sections due to its length. I noticed that this issue also came up last year with a different log (The Watchfire Pact(storyline)/2023-09-27 - The Opening of Crystalhall (log)), which is too long for the wiki to properly load under normal circumstances. In the future, I recommend either breaking up your logs into parts or cutting out unnecessary parts from the logs, such as extended combat, irrelevant actions, etc. I realize the time and effort it takes to edit and archive logs, and I would hate for that effort to go to waste simply because they are too long for anyone to read them on the wiki. If you have any questions about best practices for editing logs for the wiki, the best place to ask is on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread, where wiki staff and knowledgeable players can best advise you on any changes that may be helpful. Thank you so much for tracking on this! I could not find the wiki thread and this helped me I had so many questions! I realized this last one was way too long, I don't know what possessed me to keep all the battle scenes this time around, Anyway going forward I do hope to keep them smaller. I was struggling with the color changes as well They worked in the past not sure what I was doing wrong this time. Is there a color pallet page? TUMARA (talk) 11:16, 4 October 2024 (CDT)

You're welcome! It looks like you primarily use <font color"#123456">text to highlight</font> style formatting for your logs, which relies on knowing the specific numerical code for a given color. There are a couple of other ways to do so, which might be useful. One is to use {{blue|text to highlight}}, which results in text looking like this. You can substitute blue for other standard colors, such as red, green, etc. The GSWiki uses MediaWiki as its wiki engine, which is the same one that Wikipedia and many other wikis use. In terms of color palettes, WikiMedia and Wikipedia have this information about use of font colors:
On several of the articles, it outlines both the standard color names as well as their hexadecimal counterparts, depending on which method you want to use to highlight. One thing to keep in mind is that some users rely on light mode while others use dark mode to navigate the wiki, so using strictly white or black (or very light/dark colors) as the designated font color may be problematic as a result. Duplicate Logs

Hi there, TUMARA. You recently added two logs that appear to be identical to the wiki. Can you please clarify which one you intended to keep? You can do this by editing the duplicate log that you want deleted and adding {{delete}} somewhere on that log article. That flags it for a mod to delete. The two logs are:

I will update the one you intended to keep with the correct log title once you have identified it. It will end up as titled "Evermore Hollow - 2023-10-23 - The Heads Rolled Battle (log)", per Gswiki:Style guide/Formatting special articles#Logs. If you do not note which article you prefer to keep within 7 days, then I will delete the newer article and keep the older one. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 09:35, 31 October 2023 (CDT) TUMARA (talk) 11:34, 31 October 2023 (CDT) thank you Hopefully the name change will not mess up how it's connected to the other log?

Thank you very much! I have deleted the duplicate articled that you had marked, and I have also updated the links on the two related log articles so that they properly link back to one another. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 08:20, 1 November 2023 (CDT)

Uploaded Images

Hi there! Thank you for your MANY updates to the wiki, especially your relentless efforts to chronicle the ongoing events in the Icemule Trace region. I'm reaching out to you regarding two things.

First, while I was looking at your recent uploads to the wiki, linked from Opalina (prime) ("Opalina.png", "Opalina outside.png", "Opalina fighting.png", "OpalnFalvicar4.png", "Sloop.png", and "Brig.png") and this page, User talk:TUMARA ("Opalina writing desk.png"), I noticed that none of the images include information about the original source or that permission was granted to use them. Please see Help:Style#Copyrights for more information about the requirement to provide the source and artist name for all images uploaded to GSwiki. If you are the artist who created the artwork, you can simply note that instead. Additionally, if the image was created with AI artwork software, you will also need to note what program was used (Midjourney, etc.). If you need an example of how to do this, the character page Arenglae (prime) does this very clearly for all of the portraits. Thanks for understanding! I'll check back in soon to see if this information has been updated.

Second, I've noticed that you use your user talk page (this page) a bit atypically compared to most other wiki contributors. Generally speaking, the user talk page is designed to facilitate communication between wiki contributors through the wiki itself, or communication between users and mods. Anyone editing your user talk page will cause a banner to display at the top of the wiki until you view it. Looking at everything else on your user talk page, I actually recommend moving all of the contents to your user page, User:TUMARA, which is currently blank. That would allow other users or mods such as myself to contact you if the need arises without modifying the important information you have archived on this page. If you need assistance in moving it over, I would be happy to help with that. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:07, 1 December 2022 (CST)

Pictures and moves

Thank you for your support and keeping me on the right path here on this Wiki I love participating and want to ensure Im always doing it correctly. I wasn't sure about the AI part I hope the way I changed them will work? I look forward to feed back on that. I was able to move everything to the other page I believe as well. that seemed relatively painless. Hopefully I didn't mess that up. Do I need to re-upload the pictures so they have notes directly on them? TUMARA (talk) 12:17, 11 December 2022 (CST)

Hi again! I'm responding to the edit that you did on my user page asking about uploaded logs.
All of your many logs uploaded to the wiki are outstanding, and I sincerely appreciate the effort you put forth with them. I have moved a couple of logs to "rename" them according to the style guide (more information is available here), but each time I've done so, it's been for very minor stuff. Per the current style guide standard, log page titles should be in the format of:
* [Storyline or Event Title, if applicable] - [Date] - [Title of Log, if applicable] (log)
* For example: Blood Son - 2020-01-01 - Excitement in Wehnimer's Landing (log)
This naming format helps logs to appear properly in various categories. I have also added Category:Logs to a couple of yours that were missing it. This makes sure that they are populated correctly in that category so everyone can easily find them if they do not have a direct link. Both of these are incredibly minor edits that are easily overlooked, so please don't be alarmed if I make changes like them to your logs.
Thank you for all of the updates you made to the images! They're all very lovely and I really enjoyed viewing them. I would recommend only adding one thing, and that is noting that you are the person who created them via Midjourney. You can reference yourself as your character, your account, or even just something as simple as, "AI art generated by me using Midjourney.com", so that it is clear that you are the creator behind them. None of the images need to be uploaded again, having the credit information on them as you did is more than enough.
I hope that what I shared about the difference between user pages and user talk pages made sense to you. Ultimately how you use your user talk page is up to you - I mostly didn't want to get your amazing record of information lost amid questions from mods or another user wanting to say thank you for doing such a great job with them. Also, just in case you ever need to do so, you can automatically "sign" anything you put on the wiki (which is very useful for user talk pages) with ~~~~ at the very end, which is how I added my "signature" to this comment. Thanks again for all of your help with making the wiki so great! If you ever have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me or another mod, or to ask in the #wiki-talk channel on the official Discord server. Thank you so much it's so neat to learn more and more about how to build in this wiki.TUMARA (talk) 08:29, 12 December 2022 (CST)

Images at Risk for Deletion

Hi there, TUMARA. I am reaching out to you about three images that you previously uploaded to the wiki. GSwiki now has a new policy for all images uploaded to it that is a little more detailed than the last time we communicated. Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about that policy and the requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. You have been really helpful in the past about making sure that your images always meet policy, which is greatly appreciated. I am flagging a few images generated by other players using AI art software. While it's fine to upload images created by someone else, you will have to note specifically if permission was granted by them to upload them to the wiki. Can you please confirm that for these three images:

  • File:Falkissingopal.png - The caption notes that Falvicar's player generated this image via AI art software. I did see that it was added by his player to his wiki article. Can you confirm that his player granted permission to upload it?
  • File:Falkissingopaltoon.png - The caption notes that Falvicar's player generated this image via AI art software. I did see that it was added by his player to his wiki article. Can you confirm that his player granted permission to upload it?
  • File:Redheaded Halfling.png - The caption notes that Aliashyrah's player generated this image. Can you confirm that her player granted permission to upload it?

If that information is not added within 7 days, these images will be deleted from the wiki. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone [forum's wiki thread]. I did do a quick look back through all of your uploaded images, and everything else is in compliance with the current policy based on information that you had previously provided, so this should hopefully be the last time I reach out to you about older images like this. Thank you for your help and understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 09:09, 24 August 2023 (CDT)

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! I will take care of it right away. TUMARA (talk) 08:31, 25 August 2023 (CDT)
