Releases, News, and Updates

Charlatos (March) has been a whirlwind of activity across Elanthia!  From new releases regarding the Isle of Ornath to dazzling gemstones and deep dives into Sylvan lore, the month has brought a flurry of updates and exciting changes.  Here's a quick recap of what's happened so far:

Sylvan Side

Ta'Illistim and Ta'Vaalor

  • The Threads Unbound storyline is taking place in Ta’Illistim and has ties to Ta’Vaalor
  • Ta'Vaalor's chronomage office has been fixed and day passes should be available for travel to/from nearby cities. Thanks to all those who reported the issue.

Kraken's Fall

  • Announcement: Expanding the Walk
  • Announcement: The Forging Complex of the Kraken opens its gates
  • A bug related to the Atoll that was causing arrow bundles used by Triton Wardens to litter the hunting grounds has been identified and fixed.  Thank you to GM @Auchand for his creativity and help in addressing this issue.
  • An output issue with Mr. Bushybrow, the proprietor of his eponymous pawnshop in Kraken's Fall, has been resolved.  Thank you to GMs Ethereal and Tago for their help in helping fix this town mainstay.

Warrior's Guild News

Stormpeak

  • Obstacles in Stormpeak will no longer require you to "guess the verb", and will now output messaging that indicates the required action(s) to traverse it or reach it when GO is incorrect.

Gambling Kit Fixes

  • Typo when putting dice into a gambling kit has been corrected.
  • Issue with kit converted to a table placed at your feet being stowed away in table form has been corrected; the table will be converted back to a kit when you STOW it while it is at your feet.
  • Verb traps added to analyze.
  • Script name added to analyze.

Signature Verb

  • The signature verb has received two updates to allow you to see what signature verbs you have.
  • VERB INFO SIGNATURE will list all verbs along with their first person messaging.
  • SIGNATURE VIEW {option} will show you the first, third, and second person messaging if applicable.

Wax Eloquent Stationary Paper

  • If you DRAW on a piece of Wax Eloquent stationery paper, the writing will be reflected in fixed width.

Analyze Updates

CHE House Pin Bug Fixed

With many, many, many thanks to GM Ethereal (and Kothos for continuing to break it and provide data so we could track it down), we have squashed the bug where a house pin may x-realm transport you when you TURN it to go to your local annex.  It was a two-fold issue with the script and a missing portal in the Solhaven annex that is needed because of the transportation function of pins.

Ethereal has updated the pins, and I have updated the missing portal, so it should be all set.  If, however, you find an annex that uses OUT to get out of the annex itself instead of a portal, please email me at gs4-che@play.net so I can fix it.

Event Vaults

A bug was found with vaults that were letting them be redeemed outside of the event running under certain circumstances.  It should be cleaned up, sorry about that.

RPA Orbs

An edge case was causing exp orbs to not work if you rerolled.  If this occurs, the orb may switch from account attuned to character attuned.

The Ferryman's Lantern

  • Arriving when Departing and Departing when Arriving - Resolved (for real this time)

Naidem Mask

  • Inspect now returns where it can be worn.

Lyturhuum

  • Will no longer appear to others as if you are wearing it twice.
  • When typing INVENTORY, you'll see the lyturhuum as "worn on your head".

Secateurs

  • Items that have had the attention of a secateur no longer have the LOOK removed.
  • Headband - Pluralization issues have been resolved for hair features

AYRWT?

  • Someone submitted a bug report for PUSH/PULL not working with a "bum roll" and a FORM ITEM.  This is because the verb is WRAP/UNWRAP.PUSH, PULL, and RUB only work if worn.

Lambs

  • Several Ambients were missing spaces
  • Weather - Lambs were being a bit funny in how they looked in certain weather.  This is resolved.

Solhaven Eatery

  • Jambalaya typo - resolved
  • Peach Tea has its peach flavor now

Mount Trimmers

  • Long description will remain when woven items are trimmed.
  • Look is returned to the items.

Beard Clips

  • While I understand that barnacles are crustaceans, they can't be used in the beard clips as there is no mobility in them.

Smelter

  • Ore can now properly be removed with PULL
  • Jewelry from the smelter will no longer have weird symbols on any designs

Foraged Item Props

  • Some of these items weren't messaging when they were PINCHED that has been resolved.

Lathe

  • Lingering issues w. -bloom items are now resolved.
  • Wood items no longer have access to nodule.  This matches the analyze.
  • Coral items will now allow their noun to stay in place.

Ribbonator

  • There was an edge case where the Ribbonator would drop an article, this is fixed.
  • There was an edge case where the "dye only option" would have an extra space in the article, this is fixed.
  • There were multiple cases where a LONG dye and a LONG fabric wouldn't produce a LONG description ribbon, this is fixed.
  • There were multiple cases where a LONG dye wouldn't produce a LONG description ribbon, this is fixed.
  • There was an edge case where a Adjective Fabric and the Fabric Noun would sometimes drop the article, this is fixed.
  • Jute, Rosesilk, Taesseat, Vylith, and Vylithen are approved fabrics now.

Bouquet Paper

  • Flowers that begin with "a bloom of", "a cluster of", "a sprig of", "a stalk of", "a tall stalk of, or "an umbel of" were causing some weirdness with the flowers when you WRAPPED them to make the bouquet.  As a result, I've had the portion in "" cleared out and the flower pluralized if it wasn't already.
  • Flowers that start as plural will not be additionally pluralized.

Birds

  • Paper - Plural Watermark was missing the article of the foraged item.  This is resolved.
  • Paper - There's another bug that was reported (something about sparkling) but I can't for the life of me replicate it.  Please bug again if it happens to you.
  • Typo of celadon is not correctly celadon
  • Bloodriven now has birds.  Thank Elysani for providing them to me.

Pocketwatch

  • Daylight savings issues are resolved.
  • There was also a bug about the chain when worn with bodice/vest or the like and it repeatedly telling you that you aren't wearing one.  It may messages you ONCE but it resolves now and doesn't continue to do it.

Dye-n-ator

  • Updated whisper to work with MY.

Bugs on Parade

  • I temporarily broke Private Property Bugs.  They are fixed now.

Wine/Cider Press

  • Adding ingredients to the press will no longer generate random wines and ciders.

Yarn Bowl

  • Nudge bug - it cycles pronouns properly now.Visual clean up of analyze

Chatelaines

  • Added missing CASE from putting glasses away.

Mount Travel

  • Added Glaoveln

Blink Weapons, Pure Coraesine, and Impure Coraesine all have RECALL info now, if they've been loresung!

The Sonreeva (Newcropolis) quest prize is officially approved for Premium enhancives.

Some color issues with the Alcohol Still in relation to the new flavor system have been resolved! For example, "butterfly pea" should now give a blue color and "red cherry" should give red, along with most other "new" ingredients properly applying a color now. Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention!

Market Stalls have received a small update tonight that is now live in all instances:

  • Jars of Tobacco may now be sold in Market Stalls.
  • Chatelaines (Ebon Gate item) may now be sold in Market Stalls.
  • Market Stalls will now check their noun (stall, counter, etc.) during setup for uniqueness within the room to avoid conflicts.

The Alcohol Bottle Contraption has been fixed to play a little more nicely with juice made in the Jammy Juicer.  If you have any weird bottles of juice with an errant space where the adjective should be, you should be able to fix them by running them through your contraption again.

One (slightly) older style of Weight Reducing container now shows up in ANALYZE and RECALL, in addition to previous methods of determining how much it reduces.

Some food items with the noun of "honey" have been set to work as an ingredient for types of mead in the Alcohol Still, along with the ones with the noun of "honeycomb".

Flare Gloves

  1. Toggle GEF on/off for each hand (still via PROD, which cycles through four different states).
  2. Toggle Flare Override on/off for each hand, as well as the success rate (still via TOUCH, which cycles through four different states). There's some added syntax for changing the success rate (see ANALYZE). At least for now, the success rate is applied to both hands (I don't know if I'll allow adjusting it per hand).
  3. The 10-second cooldown for using PROD and TOUCH is being moved. Now that they have multiple states, it would be annoying to have to wait before cycling to the next setting to get it to what you want. So now you can use these verbs freely, but each time something changes, a 10-second timer is reset or applied that prevents Flare Gloves from doing anything to your held weapon(s).
  4. Mana and Acuity can be set to the left hand, but they remain ineligible for held weapons. This update is mainly to support POUND.
  5. The Greater Flares unlock can be toggled for each hand (still via PROD, which now cycles through four different states).
  6. The Flare Override unlock can be toggled for each hand, as well as the success rate (still via TOUCH, which cycles through four different states). The success rate can be changed with new syntax (see ANALYZE). At least for now, the success rate is applied to both hands. As a reminder, the success rate refers to when a flare is set to occur. A 100% success rate means the override always occurs (if you have at least five mana). At 75%, the override does not cost mana, but there's a 25% chance the flare doesn't occur.
  7. There's no longer a cooldown for using PROD and TOUCH, so you can quickly cycle to the toggle you want. Instead, each use applies/resets a 10-second timer that prevents Flare Gloves from bestowing flares to held weapons.
  8. Mana and Acuity flares can be set to the left hand, but they remain ineligible for held weapons (they still require a runestaff in the right hand). This update is mainly to support POUND + Unlinked.

Pure and Impure Coraesine have been updated to support handaxes and battleaxes in their messaging, by popular request.  This means future releases could be in those bases.

Landing Flower Update

  • The pretty flower girl in Wehnimer's Landing has received a slight update to her flowers.  Thank you to GM @Weaves for helping with this minor floral project.

OSA

I fought the ocean and the ocean.. lost!

I have gone through the OSA oceans and fixed spots that had broken/missing directions. I'm pretty confident I found everything. If you were avoiding certain areas because of quirky movement, it's now safe to go through those spots.

Realm Changes

Hi everyone - some time tomorrow, I'm going to be rolling out a another wave of realm shifts into Test, Shattered, and Platinum. If all goes well, Prime will follow later this week. This change will impact the following realms:

  • Wedding System Areas
  • The Firebird and other transportation systems
  • Tenebrous Cauldron (OSA)
  • The Great Western Sea (OSA)
  • The Eastern Seaboard (OSA)
  • Old ALAE areas*
  • Unannounaced areas**

Room IDs, realm names and descriptions should all stay the same, so the impact to players should be minimal, though there may be some instability while I'm making all of the needed changes. I'll be starting up a new thread once the shifts are live in the three instances to report issues.

These are very, very likely unused and only included for completeness.

** - If a new realm shows up (via location), please let me know in the thread. It should be obvious!

**[These Realms, They are a Changing]**  The latest round of realm shifts are now live across Prime, Platinum, and Shattered. Lathonian Leather/Lathonium Cloth

  • RECALL has been updated to include whether or not an item is made of the greater or lesser version of lathonian leather and lathonium cloth.

Cultural Drink Tastes

  • Fixed a bug where some drink containers (Toasting Steins and others)  were not using cultural taste messaging when beverages with cultural taste messaging were poured into them.

Temporal Weapons/One Hundred Seconds

Monster Flesh

High Steel had a bug fixed that was not preventing the anti-Ithzir fade with worn UCSE (such as gloves and boots).

Gemstone Bug Fix - Mystic Magnification

  • This gemstone property should now be functioning properly. It will no longer charge double mana.

518/950/Volley and Flares

  • A bug has been resolved where 518 and 950 would have a chance to proc Battle Standard flares. As a general rule, AoE spells are not expected to proc flares. Additionally, Volley has been updated such that only the first flight of arrows will proc Battle Standard flares. This "first flight" logic will be used for script flares on Volley going forward.
  • Spore script, which currently does not support Volley, will be updated to support this "first flight" logic.

Gemstone Properties with Post Attack Flares

  • Some gemstones with post-attack flares, e.g. Infusion of the Void, were temporarily disabled at launch due to a known issue. These gemstones should now be re-enabled.

1603/1618 and Spell Sever

  • The Zealous effect, applied by 1603 in concert with 1618, will no longer be stripped by Spell Sever.

Bottomless Quivers and Volley

  • An issue has been resolved where some types of bottomless quiver were incompatible with WEAPON VOLLEY. Note that there are multiple types of bottomless quivers, so please feel free to @ Nyxus if your bottomless quiver is still showing issues with volley.

Gemstone Dust - Treasure Level Bonus Added, Major Loot Boost Bonus Added

  • Treasure Level will now provide a drop rate bonus to Gemstone Dust. For context, many things affect treasure level, including but not limited to: creature level, area, loot boosts, and so on and so forth. This modification will always be a bonus, and never a penalty.
  • In addition to the bonus they provide to Treasure Level, Major Loot Boosts will now also provide a separate small bonus to finding weekly dust.

Elemental Defender Rings

  • An issue has been resolved where Elemental Defender Rings, aka seven-gemmed silver rings, would fail to protect against damage.

Gemstones Fixes - Odds and Ends

The following issues have been resolved:

  • The artificer should now advertise UNLOCK in the "Point and Click" Wrayth menu.
  • Subtle Ward should now function correctly.
  • The artificer should now properly display current property ranks when asked about AMPLIFY.
  • Martial Impulse / Martial Momentum should now last 60 seconds instead of 10 seconds.
  • Geomancer's Spite - This gemstone property can no longer be activated repeatedly with no cooldown.
  • Hinterwilds: Warden of the Damned - This gemstone property should now trigger properly with UCS, spells, hurling and ranged.
  • Arcane Intensity and Greater Arcane Intensity - These gemstone properties should now properly increase CS.
  • Blood Boil - This gemstone property has been updated to have a cap of (roughly) 500 damage per tick. Additionally, targets of blood boil will be immune to subsequent blood boils for 2 minutes after application.
