Uploaded Image Patrols

Ongoing record of images needing copyright/attribution information added.

• Who created the image?
• If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
• If AI imaging software was used to create it, what is the name of that software?
• If AI imaging software was used to create it, must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.
Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. All articles using this image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.
If you need examples on how to do this, Gswiki:Style guide/Images has copy/paste code examples for different image types. If you need instructions on how to do each step, Help:Images goes into detail on how to edit image files and how to display them with captions on articles.
If that information is not added within 7 days, these images will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the moddelete template from the images. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 11:09, 7 May 2025 (CDT)

• User talk:SHRIMPYSIREN: Hello, SHRIMPYSIREN. You recently uploaded an image to the wiki that is missing information required by Gswiki:Policy. The image file is File:Kaija.png. Thank you for already noting that AI software was used to create it. Your image is missing the following information:
• Who created the image?
• If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
• As AI imaging software was used to create it, what is the name of that software?
• As AI imaging software was used to create it, must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.
Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the image as well as on all articles using it. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. Hi again, SHIRMPYSIREN. Thank you for updating some of the caption information for your image on the article featuring it. As a reminder, both the image file itself and captions on any articles featuring it need to include the information required by Gswiki:Policy. I have gone ahead and included that you are the prompter for the image on the image file, as well as its inclusion in Category:AI artwork on your behalf. Unfortunately, you are still missing some information required by Gswiki:Policy. The name of the AI generation software that you used to create the image needs to be clearly stated. I have updated the banner with today's date to extend the deadline for including this information. If you are uncertain of how to add this for the image file in addition to the article caption, Gswiki:Style guide/Images has copy/paste code examples for different image types. If you need instructions on how to do each step, Help:Images goes into detail on how to edit image files and how to display them with captions on articles. • User talk:SYMPHONY: Hello, SYMPHONY. You recently uploaded an image to the wiki that is missing some information required by Gswiki:Policy. The image file is File:Winged Rose.jpeg. Thank you for already noting the name of the AI software used to generate it. The image is missing the following information:
• Who created the image?
• If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
• If AI imaging software was used to create it, must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.
Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on each image as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. All articles using a flagged image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.
If you need examples on how to do this, Gswiki:Style guide/Images has copy/paste code examples for different image types. If you need instructions on how to do each step, Help:Images goes into detail on how to edit image files and how to display them with captions on articles.
If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the moddelete template from any flagged image file. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:37, 14 May 2025 (CDT)
• File:Fel and Kary II.jpg:
• Who created the image?
• If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
• If AI imaging software was used to create it, what is the name of that software?
• If AI imaging software was used to create it, must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.
• File:Open-Seas-map.jpg:
• There does not appear to be any statement on the map image to indicate that you have edited it or when. This is required for all map images that have been modified by someone other than the original map creator. It has been flagged for moderator review and deletion.
• Map images may only be uploaded by their original creator or, in certain circumstances, the editor who updated the map to account for new areas.
• Maps should retain the original creator's name, and if the upload is an update to the map, note in the image itself who updated it and when: Updated by (name) on (date). This information should additionally be noted in the caption of the image on the page it is used. If the image is added to a page by an editor who is not the uploader of the image, the editor must note that the image was used with permission in the caption of the image.
• This image appears to be a resized but otherwise undedited version of a map linked on Open Sea Adventures/maps by another account. There is no information on the image itself or the image file description indicating that it has been updated since the prior version.
In addition, and this is related to the first image, File:Fel and Kary II.jpg, I noticed that you originally had uploaded it as a newer version of another user's image, File:Fel and Kary.jpg. Because these ended up as two duplicate images, admittedly with some minor editing between them, I have reverted the original file back to the uploading account's original version and I am deleting your duplicate version of it associated with the original upload. I have also reached out to the original file's uploader, JEMAH, about it. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:28, 15 May 2025 (CDT)

In addition, I noticed that you "blanked" the character page for Biskury (Prime). I have flagged this character page for moderator review and deletion as it does not contain any content. If no content is added to the article within 7 days, it will be deleted. In the future and to avoid any confusion, instead of just deleting all text from an article ("blanking" it), please use delete on the article to alert a moderator that it should be deleted with the reason why added to the article's talk page. • User talk:SDEMASK: Hello, SDEMASK. You recently uploaded a map image to the wiki, File:Stormpeak.jpg, that appears to violate the Gswiki:Policy for Copyrights, specifically for Maps. Maps may only be uploaded by the original creator or, in certain circumstances, the editor who updated the map to account for new areas. There does not appear to be any statement on the map image to indicate that you have edited it or when. This is required for all map images that have been modified by someone other than the original map creator. I have flagged the map image for moderator review and deletion.
If this file is an original, unedited map image, it may only be uploaded by the original map creator. If you have made edits to the map, then you will need to indicate this per the copyright section on maps and reupload it with that text included both on the image itself as well as in the image file comments. If you need examples on how to do this, Gswiki:Style guide/Images has copy/paste code examples for different image types. If you need instructions on how to do each step, Help:Images goes into detail on how to edit image files and how to display them with captions on articles.
If an image file update is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the moddelete template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for maps, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:12, 23 May 2025 (CDT)

In addition, I did see that this appears to be a variation of another image you uploaded, File:HAAPLO PORTRAIT CHAT GPT BRIGHT.jpeg, where you did include this information on the article featuring it, Haaplo (prime). This second image did not include that information on the image file itself, however I have updated it on your behalf. If you want to see how I did that, you can look at that second image's file history or view its source code. This second image does not need any action taken by you. • User talk:FEREVER: Hi again, FEREVER. Thank you very much for including the copyright information on all of your recent images and their article captions! This helps a lot in terms of wiki moderation. As a reminder, any images created with AI software also need to be included in Category:AI artwork. This is done by typing as part of the image's text description. I have added it on your behalf for the images you recently uploaded, so no action needs to be taken by you for them. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on any of the image files to see it. Please be aware that any future AI-generated images will be flagged if they do not include this category. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 08:20, 17 December 2024 (CST)
• User talk:SED17: Hi there, SED17. You recently uploaded an image, File:Nalira.webp to the wiki that did not have all of the information where it needed to be as required by Gswiki:Policy. I was able to see that you included the needed information in some, but not all, required locations, so I have adjusted the image to comply with Policy with the text you provided as an image caption. As a reminder, copyright information must be clearly stated on the image file and as a caption for all articles featuring it. Just an article caption is not sufficient for these purposes. In addition, any AI-generated images must be included in Category:AI artwork. This is done by typing as part of the image's text description. I have already made adjustments to the image file on your behalf, so no action needs to be taken by you this time. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on the image file to see it. Please be aware that any future images that do not include all required information on both the image file and all articles featuring them will be flagged. Thank you for understanding. • User talk:ELADAMRI: Hi again, ELADAMRI. Thank you very much for being consistent about including most of the information needed by Gswiki:Policy for image uploads on the images you add to the wiki. I want to remind you that all images created with AI-generating software must be included in Category:AI artwork. This is done by typing as part of the image's text description. This is something that you have been omitting still from your recent uploaded images. I have already made adjustments on your behalf to the image files that you recently uploaded, so no action needs to be taken by you this time. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on any of the images file to see it. However, please be aware that any future images that do not include all required information, including the AI artwork category for AI-generated images, them will be flagged for moderator review and potential deletion.
