About The Order

The Order of Wyrmslayers is an unofficial prestige organization based at Cold River village in the Hinterwilds. The membership body consist of those who wish to join and who have been witnessed by members of the Order when slaying at least ten wyrms. There is no leadership hierarchy, ranks or membership framework beyond the aforementioned requirement. Membership is open to anyone who meets that requirement.

Documentation of wyrm kills is maintained on the official GemStone IV Discord under the Council of Wyrmhunters channel. When a wyrm is felled, prospective Order members need to identify that they defeated a wyrm on Discord and this should be verified by an active Order member by commenting or responding to the post.

Founding

The Order of Wyrmslayers was officially founded on Feastday the 8th day of Charlatos in 5125 (March 8, 2025) in tandem with the tenuous alliance established between the wyrmslayers of the villages Eldurhaart and Cold River. However, the roots of the Order date back to Restday the 30th day of Jastatos in 5122 (October 30, 2022) when adventurers exploring the Hinterwilds first took to arms against the wyrms.

Historical Efforts

For the first three months after the gemstones quest release (March-May 2025), members of the Order and the greater community of Cold River at large agreed to work in tandem so that every wyrmhunt was an effort to help quest seekers achieve the wyrm kill needed to initiate their quest. This allowed us to help hundreds of adventurers get started on their journey to seek gemstones. Beginning in Lumnea 5125 (May 2025) this effort was shifted to focus mainly on wyrms summoned using an idol, with the broader community agreeing to shift the sentiment of general expectations to naturally spawning wyrms being open game to anyone who desires to hunt them regardless of group dynamics.

General Mission

To establish a camaraderie of Wyrmslayers in the Hinterwilds to protect the North from the Firstborn (wyrms) and their Wyrmcult (squamous reptilian mutants) followers, and to foster a supportive community to aid adventurers seeking to be recognized as wyrmhunters by the gigas of Eldurhaart (beginning the gemstone quest).
