Usage

MAIL CHECK

You hail down a mail clerk and ask if you have any parcels available for pickup. After a brief search, they return to you and say, "Ah, yes. It appears that you've got mail."

Stamp # Sender Parcel Sent
  --------------- ----------------------------------------------- -------------------
512100001 Auchand a mule-printed frost blue envelope within the last day
You hail down a mail clerk and ask if you have any parcels available for pickup. After rummaging around for an inordinate while, they say, "I'm sorry, <Character>, but it doesn't appear that anything has come in for you."

MAIL COLLECT

This defaults to the top item when used alone. It can also be used in the format of MAIL COLLECT # for the individual envelope or parcel number.

>mail collect 512100001
You inquire with a mail clerk about picking up a parcel. They disappear for a little while before returning with a mule-printed frost blue envelope, which they hand to you.

MAIL DND

This turns the Do Not Disturb option on or off in the format of MAIL DND ON or MAIL DND OFF.

You are now rejecting all mail sent to you.
You are no longer rejecting all mail sent to you.

MAIL RETRIEVE

You will lose all associated costs for stamp and shipping if you retrieve an envelope or parcel before the receiver picks it up. This uses the format of MAIL RETRIEVE # for the individual envelope or parcel number as listed in MAIL STATUS. If hyperlinks are enabled, clicking on the envelope or parcel number in MAIL STATUS will automatically retrieve it.

>124001631
You inquire with the post clerk Jaeven about retrieving the parchment envelope that you sent to Enisius. He hastens off and returns with the envelope, which he hands to you.

MAIL ESTIMATE

The amount shown in the estimate will vary depending on the item. This is done in the format of MAIL ESTIMATE <item>.

Estimated costs for adding a papyrus parchment to a parcel are as follows:

    Standard Mail: 25 silvers
    Express Mail: 50 silvers
    First Class Mail: 200 silvers

The parchment will need to be shipped inside an appropriate parcel. The silver amount above will be added to the total shipment cost.

MAIL REJECT

You cannot reject mail if the original sender's mailbox is full. This uses the format of MAIL REJECT# for the individual envelope or parcel number as listed in MAIL CHECK. If hyperlinks are enabled, clicking on the envelope or parcel number in MAIL CHECK will automatically reject it.

MAIL SEND

Mail requires a stamp to be sent. This can be applied manually before sending the envelope or parcel, or it can be applied automatically as part of the mailing process.

If the envelope or parcel already has a stamp on it, the stamp will determine if the mail is sent via standard, express, or first class rate. The mail is sent using the format of MAIL SEND <name>.

If no stamp is present, then an envelope or parcel can be mailed directly at a rate of "standard", "express", or "first class" using the format of MAIL SEND <name> <rate>.

>mail send paidreg
You inquire with a mail clerk about sending a mule-printed frost blue envelope to Paidreg. They say, "Sending the envelope to Paidreg will cost 5,000 silvers based on its weight and priority."

>mail send paidreg
The mail clerk takes a mule-printed frost blue envelope from you, along with 5,000 silvers. They say, "We'll make certain to get this safely to Paidreg. Don't you worry!" The clerk places the envelope atop a pile of other parcels.

MAIL SEND COD

Sending mail by COD (Cash on Delivery) includes a fee that the recipient must pay in order to retrieve the sent envelope or parcel. The added COD fee is mailed back to the sender after the recipient has received the sent mail, which includes paying the added fee. Mail is sent by COD using the format of MAIL SEND <name> COD <amount>.

A parcel cannot be mailed with a negative delivery amount.

>mail send arianiss cod -50000
You must specify a payment-on-delivery amount that is greater than zero.
  • If someone does not accept the parcel, you can use MAIL RETRIEVE.
  • There is a 2% tax for COD deliveries. The sender pays this.
  • The maximum amount for COD is 250 million silvers.

MAIL STATUS

This lists all mail that has been sent its current delivery status. Mail that is "ready for pickup" is available at a post office and is waiting on the recipient to retrieve it.

>mail status
You hail down a mail clerk and ask for the status of parcels that you have sent. Capably perusing a small ledger, they say, "Ah, yes. Here you go." They place the ledger before you.

Stamp # Sender Parcel Status
  --------------- ----------------------------------------------- -----------------
