Weavers of Arachne (storyline)/Spider quests (summary)

Ebon Gate 2025 has six different automated quests related to its overall storyline for the year. They are accessed via the QUEST command. The Winterbriar quest is intended to be the introductory quest as it has a lot of background information about what is going on; it also changed at least once since it was started, from "Neighborhood Introduction" to "Altar & Nests".

Quests can be repeated. Depending on choices made, the final outcome of the storyline can be influenced in different directions.

Quest hints/details can be shared below for each neighborhood.

Winterbriar

Residents of the Winterbriar neighborhood are worried about vandalism to the umbral willow and the appearance of unusual creatures from the darkest reaches of Darkbriar Woods.  Find the elderly cailleach or the middle-aged domania wandering about the Winterbriar neighborhood and ask one of them about the quest to see how you can help.

Residents of the Winterbriar neighborhood are worried about vandalism to the umbral willow and the appearance of unusual creatures from the darkest reaches of Darkbriar Woods.  Find the elderly cailleach or the middle-aged domania through the newly passable thicket in the Darkbriar Woods and ask one of them about the quest to see how you can help.

[OOC Note:  This is a 'feeder' quest only to the NPCs.  Talking to them will complete it.  For storyline actions, the NPCs will have hints about what to do.]

Fate's Holding

Spiders have infiltrated the Forest of Fate's Holding, threatening to overtake it.  Listening to a cinder-tinged moonlight white skeleton at the Fate's Fire of Evermore Hollow should provide you with helpful details.

Vigil's End

The citizens are worried about the recent spider activity in Vigil's End and wish to prevent disaster.

Innocent's End

Moorlyn

Foreboding stories rise out of the Bittermere Woods, each speaking of following a spider into the dark forest and finding a man caught in an ever-repairing web spun by a saetarang and her saetipha-luryn.  To learn more, knock on an ancient leafless tree before the gates of the Moorlyn.

Spiders of Evermore Hollow

Spiders have invaded Evermore Hollow, leading its denizens to believe that the Weavers of Arachne have returned.  Some fear their arrival, others are angered by it, and still others seek forgiveness for a past hurt.  Find one of the witches from the Covenant of the Borderlight Sentinels in Evermore Hollow proper; she can provide you with more information.
