PROD PULL PUSH RAISE RING TURN

The doorbell is a fluff and private property script that applies to miscellaneous items. It was originally released at Ebon Gate 2026. The following facets are able to be customized by a merchant: doorbell messaging. Visitors ring it to let occupants anywhere in the private property know someone is outside.

Analyze

Doorbell
This is your doorbell.
If you wish to turn it off, you can PROD it.
You think that you could PUSH, PULL, RING, or TURN the brass bell.

Only the owner sees the first two lines. While the doorbell is disabled, the second line reads: It is currently disabled. PROD it to allow others to ring it.

Installation Contract
This contract is used to place doorbell in a private property that you own.

This contract will allow a private property owner to affix a doorbell to their property. Visitors may ring it to let any occupants know that someone is outside.
It could also be placed internally in the property, such as a dinner bell, to echo throughout the rest of the property.

Once placed, the appearance of the doorbell cannot be changed, so be sure it is what you want before you RAISE your contract, and that you RAISE it where you want it!

Customization Options:
- TURN the doorbell contract to toggle through available messaging types.
- You may submit this doorbell contract to Sadie, who can customize the message seen by the visitor who rings the bell as well as the message seen by anyone else in the visitor's room.
- Sadie can also customize what anyone in your private property hears when someone rings the bell.
- Each custom option carries the 300-point cost for a customization and must go through delayed QC. The entire contract can be customized at one time for 1200 premium points.
- The appearance of the doorbell may be altered by giving this doorbell contract to any willing merchant.
- Long descriptions and show descriptions are simultaneously allowed but require two separate alteration sessions to have both.

The item should make sense for something that is outside a property and sounds inside any room, such as a button, bell, door knocker, chimes, etc.

Base description: a brass bell
Long description: None.
Show description: None.
Visitors announced as: You hear the gentle ringing of a bell.

If you wish to place it ON a portal leading to your property or ON an item in your property, RAISE doorbell contract AT {DOOR}.

You should RAISE your doorbell contract while standing in the room where you want to install the doorbell.

Additional Information

Contracts to install a doorbell were first sold during Ebon Gate in The Roof Over.

Custom messages are set on the doorbell contract through Sadie. A custom ringing message replaces the whole verb line, not just the ending.

Custom ringing messages apply to every option: If a custom visitor message or room message is set, it replaces the verb line no matter which option is picked.

Default Sounds

Prior to installing a doorbell, the contract can be TURNed to cycle between doorbell sound options. After option 5, it goes back to the default or to the Custom option if Sadie has set a custom message. The visitor and anyone in the visitor's room see the base verb message plus the ending listed here. Occupants in every other room of the property see the announcement.

  • Each room, or each item/portal, can only have one doorbell.
  • The contract cannot place a doorbell on a player's item.
  • Once placed, the appearance of the doorbell cannot be changed.
  • Custom messages have to make sense in every room of any property: outside, inside, basements, etc.
  • A hidden or invisible character who rings it gets: You ring the brass bell, but since you cannot be seen, if anyone is at home they assume it is a prank.
  • While the owner has the doorbell disabled with PROD, ringing it gives: You cannot do that right now.
