It's weird that we have mangled these terms so much that we now have "hybrid" spanning all the other categories. I'm not sure what can be done about it, the Magic Guide is self-contradictory. (e.g. parts of it were written when hybrids were distinct from pures and semis, and one line says hybrids are able to learn major spell circles) INIQUITY (talk) 06:34, 17 June 2015 (CDT)
- Which magic guide? VANKRASN39 (talk) 10:09, 17 June 2015 (CDT)
- Sorry. The official "magic guide" on Play.net in the references section. For example: "Major Spell circles are the deepest and most powerful concepts common to each sphere of magic, and may be mastered only by pure or hybrid users from their respective spheres." It is a very old mistake, from a twenty-something year old book. It's just odd to me having "pure hybrids" and (especially) "non-spell user hybrids." Apparently, we use "pure" to mean "purely spell casters" now, while the original meaning of "spell caster of purely one sphere of magic" is what is used in the document. - I wouldn't dwell on it. Let's stick to current definitions. Who knows when that page was last edited, and honestly I don't exactly agree with this page either, and reading it further makes me want to blank it. While you can search for the other page on the play.net site, it is no longer linked from the left. Documentation is being moved over here for a reason. VANKRASN39 (talk) 10:50, 18 June 2015 (CDT)
