Weaving was released in 2006 as "Secrets of the Wavedancer". Weaving gives the user the opportunity to create wearable items with flowers, herbs, pelts, leaves, gemstones, feathers, and ribbons.

Tools

TOOL PURPOSE
Awl This is a tool that can be used to change a feather into a weaving item.
Lathe This is a tool that can be used to change a gem into a bead with the weaving script attached.
Scissors This is a tool that can be used to trim ribbons so that they can be woven.
Shears This is a tool that can be used to trim pelts into a weaving item.
Snips This is a tool that can be used to trim flowers and herbs so that they can be woven.

Awl

>analyze my awl
You analyze your slender steel awl and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item has restrictions on changing the noun."

The creator has also provided the following information:

This is a tool that can be used to change a feather into a weaving item. POKE the feather with the awl.

This slender steel awl may be altered with either a long or show description. The noun cannot change. The material it is made out of may be changed, but it must remain something metallic. It can also be rubbed.

>glance
You glance down to see a soft grey penguin feather in your right hand and a round-handled slender steel awl in your left hand.

>poke feather with my awl
You set the slender steel awl against the quill of your penguin feather and begin to turn it rapidly! Creating a small hole in its end, you stop turning the awl and blow away the dust your action created.

>analyze my feather
You analyze your penguin feather and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable feather. Merchants will require that the feather remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this feather, when woven, will show up as a "soft grey penguin feather," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "soft grey penguin feathers."

To get the full benefit of this feather, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Lathe

>analyze my lathe
You analyze your polished steel lathe and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item has restrictions on changing the noun."

The creator has also provided the following information:

This is a tool that can be used to change a gem into a bead with the weaving script attached. You can POINT the lathe at a gem to see what the result would be and CUT the gem with the lathe to make a bead.

This polished steel lathe may be altered with either a long or show description. The noun cannot change. The material it is made out of may be changed, but it must remain something metallic. It can also be rubbed.

>glance
You glance down to see an oak-hafted polished steel lathe in your right hand and a blue moonstone in your left hand.

>cut moonstone with my lathe
You set the blue moonstone in your polished steel lathe, and make it go!
A blue moonstone bead pops out and falls into your left hand.

>analyze my bead
You analyze your blue moonstone bead and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable bead. Merchants will require that the bead remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this bead, when woven, will show up as a "blue moonstone bead," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "blue moonstone beads."

To get the full benefit of this bead, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Scissors

>analyze my scissors
You analyze your sterling silver scissors and sense that it may be altered with either a long or show description. Based on the design, you realize that changing the noun would be impossible. While the material it is made out of may be changed, you sense that making it anything other than metallic would be useless and would weaken the integrity of the scissors.

>glance
You glance down to see a jet black crushed silk ribbon in your right hand and a pair of sterling silver scissors inlaid with mother-of-pearl in your left hand.

>cut my ribbon with my scissors
Trimming the edges of your crushed silk ribbon, you carefully cut it with your sterling silver scissors.

>analyze my ribbon
You analyze your crushed silk ribbon and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable ribbon. Merchants will require that the ribbon remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this ribbon, when woven, will show up as a "jet black crushed silk ribbon," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "jet black crushed silk ribbons."

To get the full benefit of this ribbon, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Shears

>analyze my shears
You analyze your oak-handled shears and sense that it may be altered with either a long or show description. Based on the design, you realize that changing the noun would be impossible. While the material it is made out of may be changed, you sense that making it anything other than metallic would be useless and would weaken the integrity of the shears.

>glance
You glance down to see a scrap of troll skin in your right hand and a pair of oak-handled shears in your left hand.

>cut skin with my shear
You cut the troll skin into slender strips, stowing each in your linen empath's cloak as you do.

>analyze my skin
You analyze your troll skin and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable skin. Merchants will require that the skin remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this skin, when woven, will show up as a "scrap of troll skin," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "scraps of troll skin."

To get the full benefit of this skin, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.
>analyze my snips
You analyze your slender snips and sense that it may be altered with either a long or show description. Based on the design, you realize that changing the noun would be impossible. While the material it is made out of may be changed, you sense that making it anything other than metallic would be useless and would weaken the integrity of the snips.

>glance
You glance down to see a pair of slender snips with sturdy oak handles in your right hand and a sprig of bleeding-heart in your left hand.

>cut my bleeding-heart with my snips
You trim the edge of your bleeding-heart with your snips and tidy up the edges.

>analyze my bleeding-heart
You analyze your sprig of bleeding-heart and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable bleeding-heart. Merchants will require that the bleeding-heart remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this bleeding-heart, when woven, will show up as a "sprig of bleeding-heart," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "sprigs of bleeding-heart."

To get the full benefit of this bleeding-heart, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

>glance
You glance down to see a sprig of Imaera's Lace in your right hand and a sprig of bleeding-heart in your left hand.

>weave lace with my bleeding-heart
You weave a sprig of Imaera's Lace together with a sprig of bleeding-heart.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

>glance
You glance down to see a woven chain of Imaera's Lace and bleeding-heart in your right hand.

How to Weave

Beginning Your Chain

The two items you choose to start your chain will be the long description of your created item. The show of the item will display how many items you used to weave your creation, as well as what types of items and how many of each.

>glance
You glance down to see an intricately woven circlet of pale pink cherry blossoms and pink sapphire beads in your right hand.

>look at my circlet
The woven circlet has 22 things woven into it, among which you see many pale pink cherry blossoms and a few pink sapphire beads.
>glance
You glance down to see a loosely woven bracelet of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves in your right hand.

>look at chain
The woven bracelet has 3 things woven into it, among which you see one bright orange aspen leaf, one spear-shaped willow leaf and one yellow primrose.

Using Two Different Items

To begin weaving, typically you would weave <item> with MY <item>.

>glance
You glance down to see a sprig of bleeding-heart in your right hand and a bronze-veined yellow oak leaf in your left hand.

>weave leaf with my bleeding-heart
You weave a bronze-veined yellow oak leaf together with a sprig of bleeding-heart.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

>glance
You glance down to see a woven chain of bronze-veined yellow oak leaves and bleeding-heart in your right hand.

>look at chain
The woven chain has 2 things woven into it, among which you see one bronze-veined yellow oak leaf and one sprig of bleeding-heart.

Using Two Similar Items

If you are trying to weave two leaves of the same type together, you would weave my leaf with my other leaf.
*For some reason, beginning a chain with two types of flowers does not seem to work. This could be because they need to be cut with snips first.

>glance
You glance down to see a spear-shaped willow leaf in your right hand and a spear-shaped willow leaf in your left hand.

>weave my leaf with my other leaf
You weave a spear-shaped willow leaf together with a spear-shaped willow leaf.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

>glance
You glance down to see a woven chain of spear-shaped willow leaves in your right hand.

>look at chain
The woven chain has 2 things woven into it, among which you see a pair of spear-shaped willow leaves.

Continuing Your Chain

Once you have begun your chain, adding items to it is relatively simple. You just need to decide what you want to add and what you want to make.

>glance
You glance down to see a yellow primrose in your right hand and a woven chain of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves in your left hand.

>weave chain with primrose
You weave a yellow primrose into a woven chain of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

>glance
You glance down to see a woven chain of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves in your right hand.

>look at chain
The woven chain has 3 things woven into it, among which you see one bright orange aspen leaf, one spear-shaped willow leaf and one yellow primrose.

Choosing Your Creation

In order to choose what you want to make, you need to TURN CHAIN, until you get the desired item. If you have weaved the necessary amount of items into your chain, you are ready to finish your creation. If you have not, it will tell you that you need to add to it before you can finish it.

>turn chain
You turn the woven chain over in your hands, pondering how best to pull it into a circlet.

>pull chain
You consider the length of the woven chain and figure you need to weave a few more objects into it before you could pull it into a circlet.
>turn chain
You turn the woven chain over in your hands, pondering how best to pull it into an anklet.

>pull chain
You consider the length of the woven chain and figure you need to weave one more object into it before you could pull it into an anklet.

Finishing Your Creation

Once you have weaved all the necessary items into your chain and are ready to finish your creation, you need to PULL CHAIN. It will ask you to confirm your choice, so you PULL CHAIN again.

>pull chain
[You are about to turn the woven chain into a loosely woven bracelet. If you are certain you wish to do this, just PULL the chain again in the next 30 seconds.]

>pull chain
You gather the ends of the chain and carefully weave them together to form a loosely woven bracelet of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
