Damage over time

Damage Over Time (often abbreviated as "DoT") describes an effect which occurs repeatedly over a period of time. Typically, DoT spells and effects consist of multiple damage cycles occuring consistantly every set amount of time.

Examples of DoT

• Damaging states such as poison, disease, and bleeding.
• Area of Effect spells like Energy Maelstrom and Meteor Swarm.
