In the original Shadow World history regarding flora, Delphinuris was a poisonous moss, which grew in pillowy forms that seduced those who passed by to lay down and rest on it. The weight of their bodies would secrete an oily toxin that caused several days of amnesia. It is still represented this way on the Coastal Cliffs, being one of the few I.C.E. Age terms that was never changed. It is one of several examples of dangerous plants being used in areas associated with Bandur and Kestrel Etrevion for symbolic reasons, but whose hazard was left mostly implicit in the background lore.

Behind the Scenes

In the modern history of Elanthia it has been retconned to be a ground cover plant that the Ardenai elves regard as a symbol of peace. Prelate Chaston Griffin notably had his procession tossing them before giving his speech in Wehnimer's Landing in Lumnea of 5116 Modern Era, which was ironic because it is widely assumed his power over crowds has some root in mind manipulation magic.
