Krakiipedia may experience some downtime in the next few days as some server-side work is carried out. Content should be safe, even if there are outages, so I don't discourage anyone from submitting new articles or editing existing articles. I just wanted to leave a note as to why we are down, if we are. I'll post another new item when everything is sorted. I'm hoping that KP's performance improves a bit after this, as it can be a bit slow at times. Also, I'll be looking at upgrading to the latest version of MediaWiki once this maintenance is completed. That should be a largely transparent move, though.

Krakiipedia is now host to a quote database in the style of http://www.bash.org/, which can be found by navigating to http://quotes.krakiipedia.org/! Feel free to add quotes to the database about anything GemStone related, be it clips from in-game, chats or what have you!

Krakiipedia reaches a milestone! As of approximately 7:00 PM EST on this 24th of January, 2007, Krakiipedia has officially reached the 2,000 article milestone. I want to give a big thank you to all the KP editors who helped us grow to this point, and in particular to Rail, whose contributions of late have been nothing less than staggering. It was his personal goal to push the 2,000 article milestone and reach it ASAP, which I encouraged because I am an evil, evil man. It's here, and hopefully we can continue on from this point, taking Rail's spectacular performance to inspiration.

Thank you, Rail and everyone, for making Krakiipedia THE place for GemStone knowledge.

Krakiipedia has been updated to a new version of MediaWiki (v1.9). For frequent viewers, if viewing quality is diminished, it may be wise to clear ones' browser cache.

Krakiipedia turned one year old on roughly December 15th, which is from this point forward its official day of birth! It was difficult to tell, since the domain name was purchased after it officially came into existence, but based on the older edits of the articles I remember creating in its first moments, this is as close as it gets!

A new Krakiipedia skin is in development, which I hope will bring a more unique style to KP than the default Monobook skin the MediaWiki software provides. It's currently very functional, and I've been using it as my default skin for some time now. Editors can set their preferences to use the 'KP' skin to get a taste, and anyone else may take a peek at http://test.krakiipedia.org/ for a look at the new layout and design as it progresses.

I took a bit of time today to go through with the Random Page link and flesh out and copyedit a few articles, and I noticed a disturbingly large number of essentially empty articles. I would like to please ask all editors that if you are going to create an article, please put SOMETHING in it. Even if it's just a brief one-line description of the topic and the stub template.

There appear to have been some issues with Krakiipedia's e-mail system since we moved to the new host. If you've requested an account recently, but have not received your "account has been created" e-mail yet, please check the user list page for your Play.Net account name. If it not listed there, please send an e-mail to webmaster@krakiipedia.org regarding the issue.

Krakiipedia has a new host! The move was a bit bumpy and we had some downtime, as I'm sure you may have noitced, but we're here now. Yay!
