Description:

Spirit Shield is a defensive enhancement spell wherein the caster uses his or her spiritual powers to influence the surrounding spirits to provide additional physical protection. Spirit Shield is commonly known as "dims" for its visual effect.

Mechanics:

Spirit Shield provides a base bonus of +10 to physical defensive strength.

For each rank of Major Spiritual spells known:

  • the duration of the spell is extended by 60 seconds from its base 1200 second duration when selfcast.
  • the DS bonus is increased by +1 for every 3 ranks known over 202.

The mana cost also increases by +1 for every 9 Major Spiritual Base ranks known over 202. (or +1 per 3 DS over 10 DS)

When Spirit Shield is cast on others, the DS bonus is a flat +10, costs 2 mana and the duration is not cumulative; it is refreshable.


The DS bonus is capped at the caster's level.

The DS bonus at 100 spell ranks is 66.
