[Ta'Vaalor, King's Court - 3519] (u14100047) A small cluster of trees stands near the edge of the court, providing a shady spot and a chance for a brief respite from the bustle of the city. Several elven guards stand beneath a nearby tree, chatting quietly amongst themselves as they scan the crowded court. You also see the Aerinson disk, a slender brindle lion, the Tylanthriel disk, the Taedon disk, a wide-bodied ruby serpent, a wooden barrel, a darkly stained wooden bench with some stuff on it and a pile of freshly fallen snow. Aerinson turns toward Cyik and renders a sharp hand salute.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "Of course sir."

Cyik nods at Aerinson.

Leisette says, "Of course, Lord Commander."

Leisette bows to Cyik.

Cyik says, "At ease, Squires."

You fall back into a neutral stance.

Malinya falls back into a relaxed, neutral stance.

Speaking in Elven, Nyaranya murmurs, "I need a fancier badge."

Sylkaan just arrived.

Speaking to you, Cyik says, "I received your letter."

Cyik joins your group.

Cyik says, "...Obviously."

Leisette coughs politely into her hand, averting her face.

Leisette folds her hands behind her back.

Leisette shifts her weight.

Nyaranya flutters her wings lazily.

Cyik shakes his head.

Cyik says, "We can go."

Leisette raises an eyebrow in Cyik's direction.

Leisette nods once.

Speaking in Elven, Nyaranya asks, "We taking the fun path with the tree?"

Auwilei grins at Nyaranya.

Guardsman Rethustril murmurs something to Leisette.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "I believe it would be safer for the ferry, but that is the other way."

You mutter something inaudible.

Raertria narrows her eyes as she gazes out at something in the distance.

Speaking in Elven, Nyaranya says, "I fell off the tree once."

Nyaranya nods sagely.

Travel to Illistim

Auwilei studies the sign for a moment.

Cyik says, "The ferry would be safer, indeed."

Auwilei nods to a wooden sign.

Cyik folds his hands behind his back.

Leisette smiles faintly, her eyes on the water.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "I believe the ferryman knows when I am coming and always heads to the other side first."

Auwilei giggles at you.

Speaking in Elven to you, Nyaranya says, "Offer his crew some wine next time."

Nyaranya nods sagely.

Lord Teveriel just arrived.

Cyik nods at Teveriel.

Teveriel surveys the area.

Auwilei smiles at Teveriel.

Hanshayr and Teveriel bash their forearms in greeting.

Cyik says, "Join us, Lord Anduin."

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel observes, "This is quite the entourage, Lord Commander." Nyaranya waves to Teveriel.

Teveriel joins your group.

Speaking in Elven to Teveriel, Nyaranya exclaims, "Hiya Teveriel!"

You nod to Teveriel in greeting.

Leisette curtsies politely to Teveriel.

Speaking in Elven to Teveriel, Nyaranya says, "I'm here for some reason."

Nyaranya nods sagely.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel asks, "Is something amiss?"

Teveriel nods slowly at Cyik.

Leisette says, "He has requested a meeting."

An elven crewmember on the boat picks up an end of a rope and scrambles onto the dock. He quickly and securely ties the rope to one of the pillars on the dock.

Leisette fluttering her hand lightly in the air.

An elven crewmember scrambles back onto the boat and lowers the gangplank.

Speaking in Elven, Nyaranya whispers aloud, "I have no bribe money."

Nyaranya sighs.

Leisette flutter her hand lightly in the air, gesturing towards the distant shore.

Malinya offers some silvers to the captain, who quickly pockets them.

The captain exhorts the crew to greater efforts, shouting lustily, "We've got a paying customer, lads! Row like you mean it, for there'll be extra rations of wine tonight!"

Cyik offers some silvers to the captain, who reluctantly declines them.

Nyaranya snickers.

Auwilei winks at an elven captain.

Malinya says, "That's where I went when I slipped off. To the bank."

Leisette just handed Nyaranya some coins.

"All aboard!" shouts the elven captain of the boat.

Nyaranya just handed Leisette some coins.

Leisette grins crookedly.

Speaking in Elven to Leisette, Nyaranya says, "They'll row realllly fast."

Cyik says, "Squire Legionnaire Tylanthriel and Lord Legionnaire Tyavasinne have reported troublesome news, but we will speak on it more with Jaranzair."

An elven crewman raises the gangplank onto the boat.

"Cast off the bow line!" shouts the captain.

An elven crewman leans over the side of the boat, unties the line and pulls himself back into the craft.

Teveriel glances at you.

The boat slowly pulls away from the dock.

The boat gently rocks as it heads out across the lake.

You nod gravely.

Speaking neutrally in Elven to you, Teveriel asks, "Icemule?"

Speaking in Elven to Teveriel, you say, "Indeed Lord Anduin."

The boat carefully pulls up to the dock.

The tension in Auwilei's skin eases and you notice that her complexion returns to normal.

Leisette looks thoughtfully at an elven captain.

An elven crewmember picks up an end of a rope and scrambles onto the dock. He quickly and securely ties the rope to one of the pillars on the dock.

Auwilei takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.

Speaking to Leisette, Cyik asks, "Where are we to meet him?"

Leisette says, "The Moonglae."

Cyik nods once.

Xecnephias glances between Leisette and Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "I am afraid I am unaware of that exact location."

Speaking in Elven to Teveriel, you ask, "Care to lead us there?"

Leisette nods.

Teveriel nods.

You designate Teveriel as the new leader of the group.

Lady Uniana just arrived.

Uniana furrows her brow.

Leisette curtsies politely to Uniana.

Teveriel beckons Uniana toward him with an abrupt wave of his hand.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel says, "You are just in time."

Uniana bobs down and back up in a quick curtsy.

Hanshayr bows to Uniana.

Nyaranya waves to Uniana.

Auwilei grins at Uniana.

Nyaranya appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Speaking in Elven, Uniana distractedly asks, "For what?"

[Moonglae Inn, South Lobby - 6] (u13107001) Heavy oak doors open into the expansive lobby of the Moonglae Inn. Greystone walls rise high overhead, where polished ironwood beams reinforce the sharply sloping roof. Bustling porters usher new guests toward the front desk, while other visitors mingle in small groups, discussing the news of the day. The room is dominated by a large eahnor planter circled by a round sofa that sits atop a plush red carpet in the center of the room. You also see the Tylanthriel disk, the Aerinson disk, a silver-framed oil painting and a rosette window. Speaking in Elven to Uniana, Teveriel informs, "An impromptu meeting with the Lord Legionnaire Commanders."

Lady in Waiting Lynaera just arrived.

Lynaera glances appraisingly around the room.

Uniana glances between Cyik and Jaranzair.

Hanshayr snaps to attention and crisply strikes his chest with a closed fist in a display of respect to Jaranzair.

Uniana inclines her head.

Leisette asks, "Shall we take to the roof?"

Cyik nods at Jaranzair.

Uniana tucks her hand into the crook of Teveriel's arm as she moves next to him.

Lynaera joins Teveriel's group.

Jaranzair smiles tersely, the expression not quite reaching his eyes.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel says, "To the roof, then."

Teveriel nods.

Leisette curtsies politely to Jaranzair.

Uske just arrived.

(OOC) Jaranzair's player whispers to the group, "Anyone here NOT speak elven?"

Leisette paces across the roof, her eyes scanning its nooks and crannies.

Jaranzair gives a sidelong glance at Leisette.

Leisette slowly returns.

Leisette nods at Jaranzair.

Leisette says, "We are alone."

Teveriel nods approvingly at Leisette.

Uniana casually observes her surroundings.

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "If you don't mind, given the circumstances... Squires, please confirm Leisette's sharp eyes."

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel murmurs, "Would that we had your senses aboard the Starseeker."

Uniana whispers, "Good evening, Squire Talren."

Everyone secures the area

Uniana nods faintly.

Leisette frowns.

You quietly whisper to Uniana, "Good evening Lady Anduin."

Leisette nods at Teveriel.

Jaranzair nods once.

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "It's come to our attention that the situation in Icemule has unreasonably escalated."

Teveriel narrows his eyes.

Leisette folds her hands behind her back and hovers just behind Jaranzair. Close enough to be in hearing range and defensive range, but far enough to be polite and discrete.

Speaking in Elven to you, Jaranzair asks, "Would you like to share what you reported to Lord Legionnaire Commander Cyik?"

You nod at Jaranzair.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "Indeed sir."

Uniana cocks her head at you.

Jaranzair furtively glances over his shoulder at Leisette.

Leisette inclines her head.

Uske just climbed up a sturdy oak trapdoor propped against the top of a ladder.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "The small group named the Regulators, led by Grutak, whom I am certian most of us know, has posted in their town center a decree to remove or detain any foreign soldiers operatin within their borders."

(Uniana takes a few steps to the side, shielding Uske somewhat as she listens.)

Malinya tilts her head up.

Uske holds her breath.

Leisette makes a clucking sounds at the name Grutak, but otherwise remains silent.

Teveriel kneads at his forehead with the redoubtable fingers of one hand, his expression transitioning from exasperation to forced neutrality.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "These are not officially sanctioned by the governing body of Icemule Trace but it does not bode well seeing that their warmongering rhetoric continues to fester unchecked by Mayor Dabbings and his council."

Cyik frowns.

Jaranzair folds his hands behind his back.

Leisette takes a small step forward.

You nod.

Auwilei looks at you with concern.

Speaking in Elven, Uniana mildly comments, "How disappointing."

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "This matches my reports."

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "But yet, I am not surprised."

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "What is more, and I am shamed to admit to this, both Squire Legionnaire Tylanthriel and Lord Legionnaire Tyavasinne reported direct orders from both myself and Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair were disregarded by the officers at the airship base."

Jaranzair frowns at Cyik.

Nyaranya calmly flutters her wings to an unheard rhythm.

Jaranzair glances at Leisette.

Uske furrows her brow.

Leisette nods at Jaranzair.

You glance at Uske.

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "This is also confirmed by my reports."

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel gravely asks, "Which orders were those?"

Uske gets a blank look on her face.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "We have a guest present it seems."

(Aerinson listens intently.)

Speaking in Elven, Uske faintly offers, "Get you a glass of drink, officers?"

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "The young gnome is friendly."

Uske smiles winningly.

You nod understandingly.

Uniana glances over her shoulder.

You grin at Uske.

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair tersely says, "To not engage with, harass, or otherwise provoke the citizens or sympathizers of Icemule Trace."

Leisette reaches out and touches her intaglio pendant.

You nod.

Hanshayr frowns.

Auwilei nods somberly at Jaranzair.

Speaking in Elven to Uske, Cyik whispers aloud, "Not at this time, but thank you."

Teveriel lets out a long, contemplative breath.

Speaking in Elven, Malinya asks, "May I speak?"

Speaking in Elven to Jaranzair, Cyik says, "I have spoken at length with our Sovereign, in your absence, despite our best efforts to remand you to our custody."

Cyik gives a sidelong glance at Malinya.

Cyik nods at Malinya.

Uske wipes some cherry sorbet off her face with her hand.

Speaking in Elven, Uske blathers, "Well you jes let us know when, Uske's here at your pleasure."

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "This may have been merely an idle threat, but just this evening I heard that one, Grutak, in thoughts."

Speaking in Elven, Leisette distractedly asks, "Within this city or there?"

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "And he stated that he was looking for, "some able Icemulians to go on a flower picking expedition east of the Dragonspine"."

Jaranzair frowns.

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "I think the implication there would be clear, considering the rumors of what transpired with the young botany student."

Speaking in Elven to Malinya, Cyik says, "Thank you for that report. We will take that seriously, given what happened to the Botanist and his student."

Cyik nods at Malinya.

Malinya nods once.

Leisette inclines her head.

Speaking in Elven to Cyik, Jaranzair asks, "Was our Sovereign agreeable to our decision, then?"

Cyik nods once at Jaranzair.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "I was patrolling the Aradhul road and inside the keep for the past few hours, if it was not idle he was not present in those locations to my knowledge."

Uniana glances about shrewdly, her pale lilac eyes slightly narrowed.

With military precision, Cyik turns sharply on his heel to face you.

Teveriel glances inquiringly between Cyik and Jaranzair.

Nyaranya folds her wings across her back.

Speaking in Elven to you, Cyik says, "You have behaved commendably during these trying times. Your intel and willingness to put your own safety at risk is noted and appreciated beyond measure."

Uniana gazes confidently at you.

You nod respectfully at Cyik.

Teveriel whispers, "Well done."

Leisette lowers her hand from her pendant and watches the commander with interest.

Speaking in Elven to you, Cyik says, "At this time, however, we are withdrawing our orders. It is not worth risking a Squire with such promise."

Jaranzair nods slightly.

You nod understandingly.

Cyik glances around the area.

Uniana lets out a sigh of relief.

Jaranzair glances at Cyik.

Speaking in Elven to Cyik, you say, "Thank you Lord Legionnaire Commander, and of course. This I will do."

Speaking in Elven to Cyik, Leisette says, "I have heard much about your squire maintaining his calm and collective nature, following the letter of the orders given to him and attempting calm."

You quietly whisper to Teveriel, "Thank you Lord Anduin."

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "A honorable trait, indeed, considering I have witnessed...this Grutak, and heard at length of him from the botantist Vanathys."

Leisette exhales slowly.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel mutters, "He is.. unsubtle."

(Aerinson listens intently.)

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "He is a trial, though I am concerned his mind is unwell. He's under some illusion that the Vaalorian people have wronged him personally. That makes him dangerous."

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "It is his rhetoric, and that of those like him, combined with the tensions that are clearly weighing on even our leadership outside of Icemule, that has led us to the decision we are making."

Leisette shifts her positioning slowly so that she is able to face Jaranzair and Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "I will be departing for the airship base after this discussion."

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "And we will be withdrawing all troops immediately from the area."

You nod understandingly.

Auwilei nods thoughtfully.

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "With the threat of this airship they are flouting, there is only one direction this is going to go."

Speaking quietly in Elven to Teveriel, Uniana repeats, "Airship?"

You nod at Uniana.

A blue jay alights on one arm of the wooden bench and glances around the garden. Noting your presence, the bird squawks angrily, as if chiding you for invading its solitary retreat.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel says, "So the rumors were true."

Jaranzair nods.

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair seriously says, "And if it goes in that direction, it does not matter who fires the first shot. All eyes will be on us, and the blame will lay with us. Our power is immense in comparison."

Cyik nods slightly.

(Malinya face clouds momentarily before returning to her usual impassive visage.)

Uniana nods almost imperceptibly.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel says, "Such restraint is commendable in the face of such flagrant provocation."

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "Let them play at their airships and their games. We will not take part in such a foolish use of power."

Jaranzair nods once at Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, Lynaera politely asks, "In this withdraw, is there a plan to dismantle the base you have utilized?"

Jaranzair glances at Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "At this time we have not made any decisions on the base or the status of the treaty. Our only concern is to withdraw all troops and vessels before this escalates to something they will regret starting."

Lynaera nods once at Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel approvingly says, "You act with honor, Lord Commanders. As does Our Sovereign."

Malinya furrows her brow.

Speaking in Elven to Malinya, Jaranzair asks, "Do you have a concern, Squire?"

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "If my intelligence is to be believed, that base has done far more good than those people realize. Their less savory neighbors have been encroaching. I believe they will rue the moment in the afterthought."

Hanshayr squints.

Cyik nods slightly at Leisette.

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "No, no, of course not, Lord Legionnaire Commander. Obviously this decision is sound...."

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "The base reports of frequent encounters with aggressive...neighbors."

Speaking in Elven to Malinya, Jaranzair says, "This is your time to voice it if you do. We asked you to this discussion because it is not a decision we made lightly."

Speaking in Elven to Cyik, you ask, "What neighbors precisely? If I may?"

Speaking in Elven, Malinya asks, "I do wonder, however, how the assets that remain will be protected from this...Regulator, is it?"

Lynaera whispers something to Leisette.

Speaking in Elven, Uniana sympathetically offers, "Ones hopes that they can find the strength to defend themselves in these dangerous times."

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "If the base is not to be dismantled, that is."

Leisette whispers something to Lynaera.

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "The base has few assets of value that we cannot take with us."

Speaking in Elven, Hanshayr says, "If I may, I do have a concern."

Malinya nods understandingly.

Jaranzair nods at Hanshayr.

Speaking in Elven, Malinya says, "Thank you for allowing me to voice that, Lord Legionniare Commander."

Jaranzair nods at Malinya.

Uniana smiles at Malinya.

Speaking in Elven, Hanshayr says, "An airship is a dangerous asset in the wrong hands, as was seen not a decade ago."

Speaking in Elven, Hanshayr asks, "Are we looking into this?"

Speaking in Elven, Leisette casually says, "Stone and mortal left to the ice..." She shrugs one shoulder, the gesture is elegant but casual. "I doubt anyone will miss it."

Cyik nods at Hanshayr.

Speaking in Elven to Hanshayr, Cyik says, "But if they are to dare try to use it against us, it is better near our soil than on theirs, both for our reputation and our safety. We keep a far greater fleet here than there, and we will look the aggressors as long as we are near their lands."

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel curiously wonders, "What of our trade with Briarmoon? I was under the impression that the base's purpose was to protect those interests."

Speaking in Elven, Leisette lightly says, "The cove has protected itself for years, if they fear so much then they can pay the Regulators for protection."

Speaking in Elven, Jaranzair says, "Our trade with Briarmoon is a pittance compared to the connections I have built in my time here, in the Shining City, with the delegates that arrived."

Cyik nods slightly at Jaranzair.

Lynaera flashes a quick grin at Jaranzair.

Speaking surprisedly in Elven to Jaranzair, Teveriel says, "I see you have used your forced leave to your advantage."

Speaking in Elven, you say, "If I may."

Jaranzair smiles at Teveriel.

Jaranzair nods to you.

Speaking in Elven, Teveriel approvingly says, "Well done. I have no other concerns."

Teveriel glances at you.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "Something to add and some questions after."

Jaranzair nods to you.

Uniana folds her arms at the waist.

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "The Mirror is ever understanding of the Lord Commanders duties as well as sighted enough to see the horizon."

Leisette inclines her head towards Teveriel.

Speaking in Elven, you say, "Along with Grutak he has a close supporter in a giant named Randsford. Additionally Roelon is one of Icemule's town councilors, he does not speak hate to the level of Grutak but he was not kind when speaking of Vaalor either. Be mindful of them."

Jaranzair nods to you.

Speaking gently in Elven to Leisette, Uniana says, "I hope that she finds comfort and strength in the presence of the those from the foreign courts."

Speaking in Elven, you ask, "And if I may gather more clarity on the creatures you sat are encroaching. Do we have specifics on those?"

Speaking quietly in Elven to Uniana, Leisette says, "We all honor our duty to the hearts and mind of Illistim."

Uske fidgets, glancing at Uniana.

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "We will swiftly deal with anyone who tries to bring the fight here. The anti-Vaalorian rhetoric and threats will not be tolerated within our borders."

You nod.

Lynaera leans over and whispers, "Did you manage to speak to Fenog's Regulars? I toured their compound last month...It's filled with historical artifacts of elven suffering. Depicting Vaalorians as monsters, with exhibits of broken and batterns Elven arms and armors."

Aerinson raises his hand.

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "It is a simple task, is it not, to ban anyone from entering the gates, after all."

Uniana nods.

Speaking in Elven to you, Cyik says, "I do not have them with me. I will send a list to High Legionnaire Aureliano when possible. Our concern right now is withdrawing."

You raise an eyebrow in Lynaera's direction.

Cyik nods at Leisette.

Jaranzair nods at Aerinson.

You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "I have not I would love to know more."

You nod at Cyik.

Speaking in Elven, Aerinson asks, "What if we see Grutak in our borders?"

Speaking in Elven, you say, "Two more questions."

Speaking in Elven, you say, "After squire Aerinson."

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "Should you engage, then you will give him validation that he is right."

Speaking in Elven to you, Jaranzair says, "My apologies, Squire. Go on."

Jaranzair nods in agreement at Leisette.

Lynaera whispers, "THeir building is open to the public, I believe. They are based out of Icemule, as well."

Uniana nods in agreement at Leisette.

Teveriel nods in agreement at Leisette.

A pair of elves stroll hand-in-hand through the garden, stealing occasional glances at one another, their eyes shining with delight in each other's company.

Speaking in Elven, Leisette says, "While he is a giant, he is nothing more than an angry little wasp."

You nod in agreement at Leisette.

Uske grins crookedly at Uniana.

Lynaera whispers, "A horrific display of elven suffering, that place is."

Speaking in Elven to Aerinson, Teveriel suggests, "Follow the Lord Commanders' examples and rise above provocation."

Speaking in Elven, Cyik says, "The best thing to do is do not engage with him. If he stirs up trouble, report to your senior."

Uske clasps her hand over her mouth.
