Subject: Wiki team
Hey all, just to add in to that question about the wiki team. We have a lot of teams that aren't part of the 4 main teams, and many of us straddle multiple areas. For example, we have a Platinum team that has members of Production, Dev, and Events. It can be really confusing, and sometimes we don't refer to some of these the same way internally.

For the wiki team though, Isten, Kaikala, Tivvy, Xeraphina, and myself are parts of the decision-making aspects. We don't all get involved with every decision though. But then we have some senior staff that do a lot for the wiki and get involved in certain areas. We have GMs who have helped with coding portions that we export information from the game to the wiki (or spreadsheets).

None of us have access to the localsettings.php though, that's something that only the in-house IT person has access to, for security reasons. I know it was mentioned earlier about hosting some .dll file to make the Wizard work. I wouldn't feel comfortable with allowing that file type for obvious reasons. But I also just did a fresh install of the Wizard and had no issues with getting it to run, so I'm not sure what the issue might be. I'll let Simu know though. The Wizard is considered unsupported, and it has been since well before my time. I understand we have players that are strictly Wizard FE users, and that's likely why it has remained up on play.net.

Game staff has really stepped in and helped grow the wiki in recent years. Initially when the wiki went from the Krakiipedia to GSWiki, the goal was to support the hosting and login authenticating (since it required players to be on there with an active account). Part of making sure things are uniform is to create policies, style guides, and so on so that it looks cohesive. I know that part might get lost at times, but it's really so the final product looks as good as we can get it. I know there is/was some back and forth about third-party support on the wiki. This was a stance from Simutronics from long ago. I never got involved with Lich because I was on staff at a point where it was grounds for termination if we used it. Psinet was around before I was staff, but I was becoming a GameHost and it was prohibited. I feel we've really changed a lot of those past decisions and have been much more supportive of third-party software in recent years. We even had EO do a panel at SimuCon in 2022.

I truly listen to everyone's feedback. If it feels like I don't, just understand, I got a lot going on. It's hard to be tuned in everywhere. The wiki has a long history of ups and downs. But I really do feel like we've been moving in a positive direction the last some years.
