Black stone gives way to earthen walls as the surroundings shift from structured dwelling to natural grotto. Near the edge of a large crystal-clear pool, a stone outcrop rises slightly above the water's surface. A notice board hangs behind an old and pitted anvil in a darkened curve of the cavern. A gentle moan is caused as air enters the shop via a stone-lined opening and through a yawning hole in the wall.

On the old and pitted anvil you see: a scorched stone shard, an elongated granular rock with a red-painted tip, a lump of coarse granite, a cracked semispherical geode, a porous wedge of chalk, a rough shard of dolomite shaped like an ear, a sliver of striated flint, a dull lump of coal and a chiseled stone slab.

On the stone outcrop you see: a piece of grainy sandstone, a slice of curved slate with a tooth-like protrusion, a slice of grey mylonite, a round flat stone, a cracked round pebble, a length of streaked blueschist, some light blue rhyolite with a round black center, a variegated piece of limestone and a jagged chunk of white marble.

Glowing lichen provides a dim source of light in this damp section of cavern. A stone-littered table rests close to one wall, while a low stone ledge lines two of the others. A chilled air drafts in through a yawning hole in the wall.

Smooth stone makes up the walls, while a large crimson rug covers most of the floor. In the center of the room stands a large oak table, while a series of maoral hooks hang along one wall. In the rear of the room a carved cherrywood door leads into the back chamber.

One large lamp hangs from the ceiling providing illumination for this small alcove. Nearly the entire surface of the stone floor is covered by a thick, plush crimson rug. A long wooden bench runs the length of the rear wall.

Despite the best efforts of the pair of pierced iron braziers limning the entrance of this narrow alcove, shadows cling to the ironwood bookshelves tucked into its back corners. A brass-hinged footlocker, its padlock still closed but attached to a battered and dangling lockplate, stands opened and resting on its side near a small puddle of indeterminate origin.

In the ironwood bookshelves you see: a stained handwritten note, a pink-lensed zebrawood lorgnette with lagoon opal accents, a square-framed lorgnette with a mother-of-pearl handle, a cloudy-lensed yellowed bone lorgnette with a mended handle, a dark-lensed horned lorgnette with a platinum-capped handle and a pale pink lorgnette with jade leaf accents.

The lorgnettes on top of the bookshelves are less ornate than the ones inside, but both function the same.

The shoes in the footlocker are good for throwing at people.  The darts are also good for throwing at people... and dartboards.

Absolutely none of the goods in this alcove were filched, stolen, or misappropriated.  It's not my fault if people leave their luggage lying around unattended for long or short periods of time.  They ought to know better!
