Part of the The Uncertain Times storyline in the perspective of Opalina

Part 3

Roelon just slipped quietly through a worn redwood gangplank, with his group following closely.

[Cold River, Wooded Walk]

Dense woodland crowds in upon the trail as it meanders away from the heart of town. The branches of snow-draped trees weave together into a dark blanket that is leavened only by the occasional flicker of candlelight from ramshackle dwellings in the woods. The whistle of wind through the branches is an ever-present melody, haunting and cold. Bending gradually toward the northwest past a recessed dwelling, the path cuts under the shadow of a skeletal elm whose branches wait like snatching talons over the walkway. You also see a massive snowy white tiger, a stooped and wizened gnoll, the Gorbo disk, a thin withered halfling, a worn redwood gangplank, a gleaming fireleaf airship and obvious signs of someone hiding. Narrowing the focus of her attention to Illumiada's lifeless form, Trouthe shifts her stance and carefully lays her hand upon her forehead. Slowly, a deep blue nimbus begins to glow around Trouthe's body, and as she withdraws her hand from Illumiada's forehead, you notice that the glowing light begins to seep into the dagger-shaped brand seared upon it. Moments later, Illumiada draws breath and the brand upon her forehead disappears. Illumiada seems slightly different.

The glazed look leaves Illumiada.

Ephemeral twists of silver-hazed mist wreathe Gidion's forearms as he murmurs a serene phrase...

Selfane gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...

Selfane gestures at Trouthe.

The glazed look leaves Trouthe.

Illumiada beams!

Tribia says, "That old man was Rawknuckle. His son runs the tavern here."

Kothos nods.

Casinoe says, speaking quietly to Illumiada, "I did ask if you wanted to go back."

Dendum gasps.

Jiarine asks, "The main question should be... how safe is this town?"

Illumiada giggles at Casinoe.

Geijon nods at Tribia.

Illumiada sits up.

Trouthe says, speaking to Selfane, "Thanks."

Tribia says, "...his name is also Rawknuckle. They're not very imaginitive."

Kothos nods gratefully at Tribia.

Selfane grins.

Illumiada stands up.

Geijon says, speaking to Tribia, "Can we see it? We're hungry."

Casinoe gives Illumiada a warm buss on the lips.

Meliyara gazes in amusement at Tribia.

Leafiara curiously says, "Wow, possible to maintain a tavern in this environment..."

Illumiada says, "Thanks all."

Eclevdra says, "Wendigo are warped."

Aeith asks, "...Tavern?"

Mnar nods at Tribia.

Maodan snickers.

Falvicar leans over and whispers, "Not going anywhere without you Lover."

Katiesa repeats, "Rawknuckle, son of... Rawknuckle."

Illumiada hugs Trouthe.

Katiesa nods slowly.

Vaemyr ponders.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "You should hear some of our names."

Kothos grins at Tribia.

Nairena says, "Maybe add Junior to the end."

Gidion asks, speaking to Leafiara, "Well...what else would ya do...?"

Gidion shrugs.

Mnar says, speaking to Tribia, "Rawknuckle junior, then."

Aeith says, "Well that is a pleasant surprise indeed."

Leafiara confesses, speaking to Katiesa, "I like their style, it's very... raw."

Leafiara's face breaks into a cheeky grin.

Eklectic asks, "Safe! rediculous. who is safe among cinnibals?"

Vaemyr says, "I might take a look around as see..."

Vaemyr says, "Excuse me a moment."

Katiesa gazes in amusement at Leafiara.

Kuiu says, speaking to Leafiara, "And a cemetary... how does one even dig into such frozen ground."

Olgretien deeply says, "Rwknuckle the MCmVII."

Roelon grins.

Talliver asks, speaking to Tribia, "What is that Rawknuckle the Elder wanted you to tell us?"

Leafiara nods slowly at Kuiu.

Mnar says, "Pickaxes, presumably."

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "I was about to ask the same question."

Kuiu asks, speaking to Mnar, "Halflings?"

Fropple frets.

Katiesa urges, speaking to Tribia, "We stand curious."

Fropple frets.

Leafiara nods enthusiastically at Katiesa!

Several of the halfling villagers begin drifting back to their day-to-day work. They seem little bothered by the hour.

Eclevdra inclines his ear, listening intently.

Jiarine says, "They could have burned the bodies and the graves hold the ashes."

Mnar asks, speaking to Kuiu, "Icepicks?"

Falvicar ponders.

Roelon surveys the area.

Maodan gazes up into the heavens.

Tribia says, "Our lands have been invaded."

Falvicar casually observes his surroundings.

Perigourd grabs a burnished silver spyglass from one of the small pouches lining the inside of his suede cloak.

Eklectic exclaims, "What i wanted you to tell us is that we can expect help against cannibals!"

Perigourd peers south through his silver spyglass and slowly turns the eyepiece to focus it. Squinting slightly, he gazes intently through the eyepiece.

Selfane says, "They have a smaller hole to dig so it works out."

Perigourd tucks a burnished silver spyglass into one of the small pouches lining the inside of his suede cloak.

Kuiu says, "Could be..."

Mnar cocks his head at Tribia.

Mohrgan raises an eyebrow in Tribia's direction.

Randsford raises an eyebrow in Tribia's direction.

Vaemyr nods at Tribia.

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Lurrah raises an eyebrow in Tribia's direction.

Falvicar relaxes as he observes his environment.

Illumiada snuggles Loralaii, who responds by cradling an arm around her.

Kothos says, "...it must be blinding, by day..."

Falvicar looks around, a disturbed expression on his face.

Selfane says, "Yeah but a bunch of loud mouth southern..."

Cryheart nods at Kothos.

Aeith says, speaking to Tribia, "Not by us just now... I assume."

Kothos says, "...when there is day, that is."

Nairena takes a bite of her red apple.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Tribia, "I think we might be chasing that very invader."

Selfane says, "Oh you mean someone else."

Dendum asks, speaking hopefully to Tribia, ""Invaded by what?"

Leafiara asks, speaking curiously to Tribia, "By what and can we help?"

Roelon blinks.

Tribia says, "Several months ago, a prophet came among us."

Katiesa gazes with interest at Tribia.

Vaemyr frowns.

Kippe looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Lurrah leans forward.

Roelon mutters under his breath.

Trouthe asks, "Prophet?"

Kuiu moves into a defensive stance, ready to fend off an attack.

You say, speaking quietly to Tribia, "Ohh noo.."

Eclevdra asks, speaking to Tribia, "E you a name for this place?"

Vaemyr mutters arnabas.

Eclevdra splutters.

Jiarine asks, "One of your own or from elsewhere?"

Bellesue says, speaking to Leafiara, "Not that dangerous."

Leafiara nods appreciatively at Bellesue.

Tribia quietly says, "This is the village of Cold River. We call this place the Hinterwilds--it's the very edge of the world."

Mnar regretfully says, "Stories never begin well with visiting prophets."

Guarrin glances around the area.

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Satrn nods.

Dendum says, "Hinterwilds..."

Aeith shivers.

Gespry nods slowly.

Dendum nods.

Talliver asks, speaking urgently to Tribia, "What does this prophet look like?"

Leafiara says, speaking happily to Tribia, "Oh, I like that, what a great name."

Missoni repeats, "Cold River."

Falvicar nods understandingly at Tribia.

Teaberry nods at Tribia.

Roelon rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Perigourd says, speaking to Missoni, "Apt."

Kothos says, speaking to Mnar, "No one ever listens."

Roelon surveys the area.

Nairena says, "A very good name."

Eclevdra exclaims, speaking to Tribia, "Thank you!"

Illumiada wonders, speaking to Loralaii, "Hinterwilds is where I just died?"

Queatus frowns.

Sorlu smiles quietly to himself.

Loralaii nods at Illumiada.

Katiesa says, "Cold River. I suppose you have tested that and found it named true."

Katiesa nods.

Mnar nods at Kothos.

Tribia says, "He... his face changed."

Kothos smiles at Katiesa.

Furrowing his brow in thought, Guarrin strokes absently at his greased neatly trimmed, full beard. Roelon blinks at Tribia.

Aeith frowns.

Eclevdra turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Tribia says, "There was a smell to him, like something dead and best buried."

Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Darcena says, "Zeban."

Gespry nods understandingly at Tribia.

Kothos nods slowly at Tribia.

Roelon nods at Darcena.

Neovik grins.

Trouthe says, "Lich."

Guarrin nods in agreement at Darcena.

Maodan agrees with Darcena.

Lurrah nods at Tribia.

Perigourd says, speaking to Tribia, "It sounds like the fellow we're pursuing."

Trouthe shudders.

Regwen ponders.

Guarrin grumbles to himself.

Leafiara inquires, "What did he... prophesize?"

Tribia says, "But not long after he came, people started disappearing in the night."

Kothos snickers at Katiesa.

Leafiara nods slowly at Tribia.

Missoni frowns.

Lurrah asks, "Has he taken over any of your citizens?"

Eclevdra says, speaking to Tribia, "I fear that's the very ill."

Gespry melodically says, "Traffics in the dead, and causer of chaos."

Sorlu asks, speaking to Tribia, "Did your prophet carry with him a stone tablet?"

Sorlu cocks his head at Tribia.

Darcena mutters, "Probably turnedt hem into those bloody halflings we saw in the vision."

Teaberry says, "Oh, no..."

Eklectic exclaims, "What i wanted you to tell us is that we can expect help against cannibals!"

Neovik cringes.

Kothos asks, "...how long does the night last, up here?"

Vaemyr frowns.

Tribia says, speaking to Sorlu, "He did."

Kothos asks, "This time of year?"

Sorlu nods once.

Kothos gazes up into the heavens.

Tribia says, "Black as the sky."

Sorlu frowns.

Lurrah nods slowly at Sorlu.

Roelon deeply says, "The same as it was before."

Sorlu says, "Yes...that's the one."

Roelon slowly empties his lungs.

Darcena focuses on Dayzed with intense concentration.

Dayzed's left arm wound gradually fades, forming on Darcena's left arm instead.

Guarrin slowly empties his lungs.

Tabubu gazes up into the sky.

You shiver.

Vaemyr asks, speaking to Tribia, "Any idea where he is now?"

Falvicar frowns.

Dayzed praises Darcena.

Tabubu cocks her head.

Cryheart suddenly pauses, a look of consternation crossing his features as he listens intently.

Kothos asks, "Is that why you're all out and about, this late in the evening?"

Falvicar hugs you, and you wrap him in a warm embrace.

Jiarine asks, "Did you find those who vanished?"

Kothos asks, "To keep safe from these disappearances?"

You hug Falvicar, and he wraps you in a warm embrace in return.

Tribia says, "Perhaps I should begin at the beginning."

Lurrah adopts an agreeable expression.

Gespry nods at Tribia.

Teaberry nods at Tribia.

Meliyara turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Tribia asks, “Shall we go to the tavern?”

Kothos smiles at Tribia.

Trouthe turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Tabubu agrees with Tribia.

Regwen nods slowly at Tribia.

Dayzed nods at Tribia.

Leafiara nods rhythmically.

Leafiara leans in toward the ribbons, her pointed ears raised ever so slightly.

Mnar nods.

Vaemyr nods.

Whirlin adopts an agreeable expression.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "We are here to learn."

Aeith smiles.

Tribia nods.

Regwen turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Teaberry nods enthusiastically!

Dendum exclaims, "You have...Taverns?!"

Tribia just went south.

Aeith nods.

Roelon nods.

Roelon just moved quietly south, with his group following closely.

[Cold River, Village Center]

Several timber dwellings encircle a wide, clear space beneath the shadow of an ancient pine tree. The gentle behemoth scrapes at the sky, its vast boughs gravid with white snow. Though the barren earth makes for a poor town green, the pine has showered the area beneath it with a thick carpet of needles, both verdant and brown. You also see a massive snowy white tiger, a rotting wooden strongbox and a squat shop with a faded gemstone on its sign. Also here: Neovik, Lady Regwen, Lord Khazaann, Lady Nairena, Sir Cryheart, Katiesa, Eclevdra, Mohrgan, Jyinaeir, Kaeynne, Thaeren, Grand Lord Whirlin, Arena Occultist Loralaii, Dendum, Olgretien, Lord Selfane, Great Lord Lormein, Mnar, Tabubu, Dinaden, Lady Meliyara, Magister Raelee, Kothos, Lord Sorlu, Zeminar, Aeith, Perigourd, Trouthe, Historian Darcena, Sir Guarrin, Lurrah, Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry, Lord Randsford, Queatus, Town Councilor Leafiara, Satrn, The Infamous Treeva, Archeth, Conquerer of Reim Gespry, Eklectic, Falvicar, Maodan, Missoni, Lord Bigsword, Gidion, The Infamous Melivn, Kippe, Lord Fropple, Dergoatean, High Lord Svardin, Geijon, Roelon Obvious paths: north, east, south, west

Leafiara enthuses, "Tell us all the things!"

Dergoatean exclaims, "Yes! Tavern!"

Perigourd points south.

Roelon just moved quietly south, with his group following closely.

[Cold River, Thoroughfare]

A ramshackle tavern of raw pine presides over the stretch of roadway, the space before its burled wooden doors heavily trodden by countless small feet. Its swinging sign is painted with a blunt-looking fist. Several spent ale barrels sit beneath the eaves of the low, sloping roof, tracings of rime glistening on the wood in the aurora's light. The lazy laughter of rushing water from the west is almost drowned out by the noise from the village center nearby. You also see a massive snowy white tiger. Also here: Neovik, Lady Regwen, Lord Khazaann, Lady Nairena, Sir Cryheart, Katiesa, Eclevdra, Mohrgan, Jyinaeir, Kaeynne, Thaeren, Grand Lord Whirlin, Arena Occultist Loralaii, Dendum, Olgretien, Lord Selfane, Great Lord Lormein, Mnar, Tabubu, Lady Meliyara, Magister Raelee, Kothos, Lord Sorlu, Zeminar, Aeith, Perigourd, Trouthe, Historian Darcena, Sir Guarrin, Lurrah, Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry, Lord Randsford, Queatus, Town Councilor Leafiara, Satrn, The Infamous Treeva, Archeth, Conquerer of Reim Gespry, Eklectic, Falvicar, Maodan, Missoni, Lord Bigsword, Gidion, The Infamous Melivn, Kippe, Lord Fropple, Dergoatean, High Lord Svardin, Geijon, Roelon, Dinaden Obvious paths: north, northeast, southeast, west, northwest

Perigourd nods.

Dendum lets out a cheer!

Kothos says, "...I even have a little silver. Thankfully."

Roelon just slipped quietly into a ramshackle timber tavern, with his group following closely.

[Rawknuckle's, Watering Hole]

Low eaves, stained black with smoke, do little to keep out the icy chill of the outdoors, though they have been sealed in many places with acrid pine pitch. The floor is an artless mosaic of uneven planks, most badly warped, and the nails securing them are more rust than iron. Behind a carved counter of time-silvered wood is a collection of racks holding dusty bottles in a variety of colors. You also see a massive snowy white tiger, the ice-covered Dayzed disk, a luminous ice blue poleaxe hovering in mid-air and a raw-boned halfling tavernkeeper. Also here: Neovik, Lady Regwen, Lord Khazaann, Lady Nairena, Sir Cryheart, Katiesa, Eclevdra, Mohrgan, Jyinaeir, Kaeynne, Thaeren, Grand Lord Whirlin, Arena Occultist Loralaii, Dendum, Olgretien, Lord Selfane, Great Lord Lormein, Mnar, Tabubu, Lady Meliyara, Magister Raelee, Kothos, Lord Sorlu, Zeminar, Aeith, Perigourd, Trouthe, Historian Darcena, Sir Guarrin, Lurrah, Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry, Lord Randsford, Queatus, Town Councilor Leafiara, Satrn, The Infamous Treeva, Archeth, Conquerer of Reim Gespry, Eklectic, Falvicar, Maodan, Missoni, Lord Bigsword, Gidion, The Infamous Melivn, Kippe, Lord Fropple, Dergoatean, High Lord Svardin, Geijon, Roelon, Dragoon Dayzed Obvious exits: east, out

Dayzed stops to speak with Rawknuckle.

Perigourd glances at a raw-boned halfling tavernkeeper and taps his foot impatiently.

Kaeynne appears to be checking his pockets for something, but finds them empty.

Leafiara observes her surroundings with a keen eye.

Aeith gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Roelon just moved quietly east, with his group following closely.

[Rawknuckle's, Pipe Den]

A mottled grey warg pelt stretches across the plank floor before an uneven brick fireplace on the eastern wall. Several frayed chairs form a loose semicircle around the hearth. Decades of pipe smoke has seeped into the surroundings, leaving the air stale with its burnt herbal tang. You also see a massive snowy white tiger, a swirled steel bowl full of sticks and a wicker wastebin. Also here: Neovik, Lady Regwen, Lord Khazaann, Lady Nairena, Sir Cryheart, Katiesa, Eclevdra, Mohrgan, Jyinaeir, Kaeynne, Thaeren, Grand Lord Whirlin, Arena Occultist Loralaii, Dendum, Olgretien, Lord Selfane, Great Lord Lormein, Mnar, Tabubu, Lady Meliyara, Magister Raelee, Kothos, Lord Sorlu, Zeminar, Aeith, Perigourd, Trouthe, Historian Darcena, Sir Guarrin, Lurrah, Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry, Lord Randsford, Queatus, Town Councilor Leafiara, Satrn, The Infamous Treeva, Archeth, Conquerer of Reim Gespry, Eklectic, Falvicar, Maodan, Missoni, Lord Bigsword, Gidion, The Infamous Melivn, Kippe, Lord Fropple, Dergoatean, High Lord Svardin, Geijon, Roelon, Vaemyr, Tribia, Mistress Ycelacie who is sitting Obvious exits: west

Jyinaeir appears to be checking his pockets for something, but finds them empty.

Meliyara says, speaking to Dendum, "Eii, run by Rawknuckle son of Rawknuckle."

Vaemyr just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

Mnar says, speaking to Kothos, "I'm relying on you, then."

Vaemyr just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

Vaemyr takes a wooden stick and tosses it into the fire and watches as the flames leap higher.

Mayor Talliver's group just arrived.

Leafiara beams!

Geijon points at an uneven brick fireplace.

Geijon says, "I got it going."

Kothos says, speaking to Mnar, "Be still my heart." Roelon surveys the area.

Nairena says, "The universal means of breaking bread... a tasty beverage."

Kothos gives Mnar a little prod between the shoulder blades.

Fropple walks over to the chair and settles down.

Vaemyr nods at Geijon.

The fire sings its ancient song of security from the dangers of the night as you gaze into the comfortable blaze.

You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.

Kothos slowly empties his lungs.

Missoni casually observes her surroundings.

Jiarine glances at an uneven brick fireplace and slowly exhales.

Perigourd nods at Missoni.

Trouthe unfastens the buttons on her fur cloak and opens it, no longer needing the extra protection from the weather outside.

Sorlu agrees with Kothos.

Gespry says, speaking melodically to a stocky snow white puppy with oversized black-tipped paws, "Behave yerself."

Cryheart gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Mnar says, "Oh, this is nice."

Guarrin clears his throat.

Roelon dusts off his black woolen kilt.

Dayzed just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

Aeith mutters under her breath.

Bigsword walks over to the chair and settles down.

Darcena narrows her eyes.

Dayzed just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

Jiarine snickers.

Archeth glances at Aeith.

Aeith says, "The fire works."

Dayzed rubs a swirled steel bowl full of sticks.

Satrn glances at an uneven brick fireplace and slowly exhales.

Dayzed takes a wooden stick and tosses it into the fire and watches as the flames leap higher.

Talliver says, "Comfortable enough."

Kothos nods enthusiastically at Aeith!

Talliver walks over to the chair and settles down.

Dayzed just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

Dayzed just grabbed a wooden stick from the sticks.

You just grabbed yourself a wooden stick.

Dayzed takes a wooden stick and tosses it into the fire and watches as the flames leap higher.

Dayzed sinks gracefully down into a cross-legged sitting position, the x'aganjira of his doublet swishing faintly as he settles his arms, clad in thick dun sleeves cuffed to resemble wide moose hooves, in his lap. A shower of ice blue sparks rain down from the x'aganjira doublet, shining briefly on the floor around him before merging into the ethereal form of a sleeping colossal moose. Tail twitching, it breathes soundly in its sleep before dissipating into a cloud of diffuse ice blue motes.

Hazelnut walks over to the chair and settles down.

Crossing her legs at the ankles, Teaberry slowly lowers herself to the floor and sits tailor fashion.

Kothos slowly empties his lungs.

Nairena says, "Thats a big critter."

Roelon walks over to the chair and settles down.

Gespry surveys the area.

Dendum grabs a gleaming black agate teabowl carved with a forest motif from a small pocket inside of his sepia tunic.

Hazelnut looks around, his eyes bright and almost giddy.

Gespry walks over to the chair and settles down.

You put a kumys-glazed snowberry tart in your white bearskin coat.

Leafiara walks over to the chair and settles down.

Leafiara leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Dendum cups his gleaming teabowl in both hands, running a finger across its intricately carved nature scene before taking a drink.

Roelon nods once.

You just grabbed yourself a wooden stick.

Meliyara walks over to the chair and settles down.

Vaemyr walks over to the chair and settles down.

Sorlu leans leisurely on his Nalfein-styled cane, a thoughtful expression upon his face.

You toss the wooden stick onto the fire and watch the flames rise higher as they feed on the fuel.

Archeth walks over to the chair and settles down.

You just grabbed yourself a wooden stick.

You just grabbed yourself a wooden stick.

You toss the wooden stick onto the fire and watch the flames rise higher as they feed on the fuel.

Tribia says, "So. The beginning."

Tabubu turns to face Tribia.

You sit down next to Falvicar.

Tribia says, "It's like Rawknuckle--the older one--says."

Tabubu quietly says, "That is a good place to start."

Mnar sits down.

(Kothos goes to stand besides the hearth, dusting a few ice crystals off of his cassock and out of his long hair.)

Jiarine mouths, speaking to Treeva, "It stinks in here."

Aeith tilts her head toward Tribia, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

You listen carefully to Tribia.

Treeva clears her throat.

Mnar stares at Jiarine.

Tribia says, "Our people lived in the East. There was a plague of some sort, and we came west."

Keening wind blows outside, but you are sheltered from the worst of its brutal assault.

Gidion kneels down.

Mnar hisses, speaking quietly to Jiarine, "It's homey."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "That's a hard journey."

Nairena sits down.

Jiarine says, "You are mad."

Treeva wrinkles her nose.

Illumiada whispers something to Fropple.

Selfane asks, "Is it contagious?"

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "Especially for people who are ill."

Selfane looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Darcena looks thoughtfully at Guarrin.

Tribia says, "Our ancestors lived among wood sprites of a sort for many years, but then they left and went north. They founded a town called Ice Vale, but it was destroyed in a storm."

Roelon nods.

Leafiara nods slowly.

Geijon frowns.

Hypnotized for a moment, you find yourself watching the dancing flames

Jiarine yawns.

Jiarine says, speaking to Treeva, "History is usually so boring."

Tribia says, "So they kept traveling. Many of them died, and all of the sprites that had traveled with them."

Leafiara gasps. Perigourd furrows his brow.

Sorlu frowns.

Aeith frowns.

Geijon says, speaking to Tribia, "Sad tale."

Tribia says, "There was... not much food, toward the end of their travels."
Tribia says, "And some of them, well, they gave in."

Jiarine asks, "Did they eat each other?"

Sorlu winces.

Keening wind blows outside, but you are sheltered from the worst of its brutal assault.

Kippe frowns at Tribia.

Aeith gulps.

Eclevdra sniffs.

Eclevdra winces.

Leafiara muses, "Well, when the situation gets desperate enough..."

Kothos looks over at Mnar and shakes his head.

Tribia says, speaking to Jiarine, "We... we call it the Old Hunger."

Aeith says, "That... is a foreboding fate. On all sides."

Darcena cocks her head.

Katiesa gasps.

Eklectic says, "Yea, cannibalism... that's the key here."

Jiarine asks, "How does halfling taste?"

Katiesa picks up a mug of strong Elanthian coffee.

Mnar leans back.

Katiesa picks up a tiny cup of dark strong coffee.

Mnar stares at Jiarine.

Darcena whispers aloud, "I've heard it is del--"

Mohrgan frowns.

Eclevdra gasps.

Vaemyr frowns.

Tabubu tilts her head in Jiarine's general direction, the folds of her hood obscuring her expression from view.

Trouthe frowns at Jiarine.

Mnar stares at Darcena.

Perigourd surreptitiously glances at Darcena.

Nairena says, "When you got to eat..."

Tribia says, "In every generation, there are a few who give into it. They run off into the woods, called by the wilds, and... then we don't hear from them again."

Vaemyr gives Darcena a friendly prod against the back.

Treeva gives a sidelong glance at Darcena.

The fire dies down a bit until it finds some fresh wood to burn. The flames dance higher as they feast.

Darcena clears her throat.

Leafiara says, "This is where I avoid mentioning Crux in any detail."

Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.

Meliyara whispers something to Darcena.

Jiarine says, "Oh stop acting like you are not all thinking the same damn thing."

Darcena nods in agreement at Meliyara.

Kippe casually glances at Meliyara.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "...ravenous."

Kothos nods slowly at Tribia.

Tabubu laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Tribia says, "We know they're out there. The Old Hunger makes them unnaturally strong. Durable."

Aeith quietly says, "That's probably for the best you don't hear from them again after that."

Tabubu clears her throat.

Tribia says, speaking to Kothos, "And yes, ravenous."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Tribia says, "Some of them, the ones who really give in... they become something else."

(OOC) Kothos's player whispers to the group, "Roll credits!"

Eclevdra asks, "Can we help it to not recur?"

Teaberry says, "Wendigos."

Missoni frets.

Tribia says, "Some of them, the ones who really give in... they become something else.""
Tribia nods slowly at Teaberry.

Mnar says, speaking to Jiarine, "I take a pale sort of satisfaction in knowing that eventually, some of them may know what you taste like."

Aeith glances at Teaberry.

Jiarine flutters her eyelashes.

Nairena begins chuckling at Mnar!

Jiarine says, "If they are lucky."

Dendum inquires, speaking to Teaberry, ""Like in Giantkin tales?"

Guarrin says, "Well, folks owe plenty of Wsalamir apologies then."

Eklectic exclaims, "Call it what you like, eating your own kin is a sin against any creed. they should be put down!"

Teaberry nods at Dendum.

Leafiara looks at Guarrin and breaks into a cheeky grin.

Kothos nods once at Guarrin.

Cryheart nods at Guarrin.

Vaemyr ponders.

Kothos says, "Desperation and survival are very powerful motivators."

Gespry nods slowly.

Perigourd furrows his brow.

Jiarine asks, "Is there an age when this hunger calls?"

Eclevdra asks, "A tale of woe, can it be redressed?"

Kothos says, "And it sounds like these people, the ones afflicted...had very little choice."

Randsford nods at Kothos.

Jiarine asks, "Rather... the old, ill or otherwise infirm?"

Nairena says, "Even the sylvankind were tested."

Tribia says, speaking to Jiarine, "It can happen at any time."

Teaberry asks, speaking to Tribia, "Can the ones who transform change back?"

Hazelnut says, "Fascinating."

Jiarine asks, "What are the signs?"

Randsford says, "It's easy to judge when food is plentiful in the south."

Kothos looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Roelon shudders.

Hazelnut takes out a quill pen and journal and begins scribbling notes.

Roelon nods at Randsford.

Kothos asks, speaking to Tribia, "And it's carried down, this curse is hereditary, now?"

Talliver says, "Horrific, you mean."

Guarrin shrugs slightly at Perigourd.

Aeith asks, "But these that... give in, and run off to the woods. That is something that has been happening separate and long before the prophet that came to you?"

Vaemyr nods at Talliver.

Tribia nods at Kothos.

Roelon deeply says, "But this seems...different."

Eclevdra says, "No one is judging, only seeking an end to a curse."

Kothos hisses.

Tribia nods at Aeith.

Roelon nods at Randsford.

Eklectic exclaims, "Oh yea, it's horrific!"

Eclevdra turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Randsford shrugs at Roelon.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "No wonder there are so few of you, now."

Svardin says, "Hmm."

Vaemyr asks, speaking to Tribia, "Is there any saving them at that point? or is it better to... put them to rest?"

Regwen looks at Svardin and hums.

Aeith nods.

Gidion gazes heavenward.

Missoni cocks her head at Perigourd.

Tribia says, "Of late, there's been talk around the village about my generation being the last here in Cold River. We don't have many young ones."

Jiarine says, "Be still my heart. I came for the undead lich but now need to worry something will eat me in my sleep."

Svardin shrugs.

Tribia says, "And not enough guards to keep the hungry ones out of the village, of late."

The wind outside fills the air with low, plaintive moans.

Vaemyr frowns.

Geijon asks, speaking to Tribia, "It's been safe here?"

Treeva nuzzles her face against Melivn's. Eclevdra asks, speaking to Tribia, "Rhaps that need not be the case?"

Eklectic says, "In a town surrounded by cannibals, every generation might be the last."

Dergoatean says, speaking to Tribia, "We might be able to help with that."

Missoni looks at Tribia with concern.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Tribia, "Well, I think some of us might be able to help with the later of those issues."

Furrowing his brow in thought, Guarrin strokes absently at his greased neatly trimmed, full beard.

Dendum drums his fingers thoughtfully against his chin and inhales the cedar-scented smoke smoldering away within his pipe deeply.

Darcena mutters, "And we need to know more about the prophet."

Vaemyr nods at Darcena.

Mnar folds his hands in his lap.

Cryheart nods at Darcena.

Mnar nods at Darcena.

Kothos asks, speaking quietly to Tribia, "Do you have someone out there, now?"

Aeith asks, "This town is unsafe then. Is there a way we can help?"

Jiarine asks, "That prophet is no longer in this village?"

Tribia looks over at Jiarine and shakes her head.

Dendum remarks, speaking to Tribia, ""Does the halfling know why her people still fall victim to this Old Hunger so many years later? You are cursed?"

Eclevdra turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Eklectic exclaims, "Whatever madness takes these abominations, there is only one solution. their extinction!"

Dayzed gazes heavenward.

Dergoatean asks, speaking to Tribia, "Are there any other villages in this part of the owrld?"

Tribia looks over at Dendum and shakes her head.
Tribia says, "When he came, he told us that his name was Fernotten."

Gidion stands up.

Gespry snickers.

Jiarine says, "It would be unwise to bring them into Icemule... in case that their curse can infect those who call it home."

Tribia says, "But... he seemed to forget his own name at times."

Kothos ponders.

Perigourd nods in agreement at Guarrin.

Tribia says, "Sometimes he called himself Zeban, or Arnabas, or..."

Eclevdra says, "Alias methinks."

Dayzed coughs.

Roelon leans forward.

Dendum places his hands on his hips and casually surveys his surroundings.

Darcena sniffs at Dinaden.

Lurrah says, "Depending on the body he takes over."

Ycelacie blinks.

Tribia says, "Many of the villagers were swayed by his teachings, but some of us have a keen nose for warg scat."

Lurrah nods slowly.

Jiarine says, "It would really kill my plans for summer if I one day woke up wanting to eat people."

The fire crackles and the flames jump as a warm glow settles in on you.

Aeith grins.

Dergoatean sniffs.

Lurrah chuckles.

Teaberry appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Darcena begins to look a little better.

A pained expression crosses Dergoatean's face. Jiarine asks, "What did he teach?"

Mnar says, "We know the name Zeban."

Mnar nods at Tribia.

Dayzed deeply says, "We sure do."

Aeith says, "I will remember that particular turn of phrase."

Vaemyr asks, speaking to Tribia, "...did he ever call himself Zerroth?"

Gespry melodically says, "Very much so."

Darcena says, "And Arnabas."

Eclevdra says, "This curse be ended."

Tribia says, "He told us that there was power in blood, and he taught some of us... dark spells."

Eclevdra nods at Tribia.

Eklectic asks, "So your prophet can't even get his name straight...what did he preach?"

Tribia says, speaking to Vaemyr, "Zerroth--no."

Lurrah glances at Vaemyr.

Kothos says, "Fernotten the Forgotten."

Talliver leans forward.

Vaemyr nods.

Talliver says, "Fernotten."

Jiarine asks, "Who can I speak to about these spells?"

Tabubu turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Roelon raises an eyebrow.

Talliver says, "It was one of the old names that the Council of Ten gave when they broke free."

Kothos nods at Talliver.

Missoni lets out a long, contemplative breath.

Eclevdra nods at Talliver.

Perigourd furrows his brow.

Tribia says, speaking to Talliver, "So you all have had dealings with this charlatan."
Tribia leans back.

The fire brings a welcome warmth that seems to soak into your very bones and makes you feel relaxed.

Tribia nods gravely.

Dayzed deeply says, "Tis why we are here."

Talliver nods slowly at Tribia.
Talliver says, "We have."

Mnar says, "Charlatan isn't the first word I've have used to describe him."

Treeva nods in agreement at Mnar.

Gespry melodically says, "It goes back many many years."

Eclevdra smirks.

Eclevdra nods at Mnar.

Tribia says, "I've heard that other name before: Zerroth."

Jiarine says, speaking to Tribia, "Much has happened in the vast world outside."

Gespry melodically says, "But yes, bad dealings with him."

Leafiara nods understandingly.

Eklectic asks, "So, a depraved deciple of a depraved heretic, what did he preach of?"

Missoni leans forward.

Dayzed asks, speaking deeply to Tribia, "Oh?"

Trouthe glances at Tribia.

A pained expression crosses Mnar's face.

Guarrin casually glances at Tribia.

Treeva notes, "He's seemed quite potent in teaching and capabilities."

Tribia says, "From one of the big ones. I'll get to her later... if she *has* a later."

Missoni grits her teeth.

Leafiara nods rhythmically at Tribia.

Mnar surreptitiously glances at Guarrin.

The fire crackles and the flames jump as a warm glow settles in on you.

Tribia says, "There are other villages in these woods, but not Truefolk villages."

Jiarine asks, "Can we visit them?"

Leafiara guesses, "Other wood sprites?"

Aeith cocks her head.

Roelon raises an eyebrow.

Dayzed asks, speaking deeply to Tribia, "Giantmen?"

Dergoatean nods at Tribia.

Tribia says, "They have the same rough shape as us, but they're ten times the size."

Ycelacie stands up.

Kothos asks, speaking to Tribia, "The Kindred, perhaps?"

Vaemyr ponders.

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Vaemyr says, "That's large."

Trouthe furrows her brow.

Leafiara interestedly asks, "Ohhh?"

Tribia says, speaking to Dayzed, "I guess they're giant men, but I've never heard them called that."

Eklectic says, "Giant halflings...a scarry thought."

Trouthe asks, "Gigas?"

Tribia says, "We call them the gigas."

Guarrin adds, "Even for wsalamir."

Dayzed nods slowly.

Dendum says, "Gigas...."

Leafiara muses, "Maybe they're like frost giants, those are big."

Neovik glances at Katiesa and cringes.

Roelon nods at Dendum.

Jiarine just arrived.

Gespry melodically says, "Gigas is better then holey moley thats HUGE."

Dendum looks over at Ycelacie and shakes his head.

Vaemyr asks, speaking to Leafiara, "Sounds... bigger, more illoke sized?"

Tribia says, "The prophet started looking real rough, almost like his flesh was the wrong size."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah wonder if it was thise massive things...that came through...."

Leafiara gazes in amusement at Gespry.

Guarrin just nudged Kothos.

Jiarine says, speaking to Gespry, "Depends."

Jiarine appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Neovik begins chuckling at Gespry!

Darcena nods once.

Roelon deeply says, "Nae any kindred ah know of..."

Tribia says, "And then one night, he left and took all of his followers with him into the woods."

Leafiara says, speaking to Vaemyr, "Oh, well, better yet if that's right."

Eclevdra says, "It is the wrong size."

Tribia says, "We thought maybe he'd taken our problems with him, but then we started noticing that the gigas were changing."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Dayzed deeply asks, "Changing how?"

Vaemyr frowns.

Tribia says, "Sparkfinger--he's our alchemist--he keeps the village safe, mostly."

Kothos nods at Tribia.

Missoni nods approvingly.

Tribia says, "If you ask me, he's had more than a touch of the Hunger himself."

Kothos says, "Sparkfinger. I like that."

Tribia winces.

Darcena gives a sidelong glance at Tribia.

Leafiara agrees with Kothos.

Darcena's stomach growls.

Roelon slowly empties his lungs.

Gespry nods slowly.

Geijon asks, speaking to Tribia, "With what kind of precautions?"

Eclevdra asks, speaking to Tribia, "My been cured of the Hunger once it set in?"

Geijon says, "Sparkfingers."

Jiarine says, speaking to Treeva, "I really want to go exploring now."

Kippe looks at Darcena with concern.

Tribia says, speaking to Geijon, "Mostly hiding the path. Gigas don't care much about us. We don't have gold and we don't have a lot of meat on us, for something their size."

Treeva nods eagerly at Jiarine.

Treeva confesses, speaking to Jiarine, "We went out for a short jaunt a bit ago."

Jiarine says, "Is there a way that we can... contain one of those who hunger? For study."

Jiarine glances at Raelee.

Tribia says, "But they've become more aggressive, even with one another."

Geijon nods at Tribia.

Bigsword says, "I wonder why they call him spark fingers."

Leafiara furrows her brow.

Jiarine says, "That mage likes to do those sorts of things."

Kuiu frowns at Bigsword.

Bigsword takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.

Jiarine states, speaking to Kuiu, "Fire is bad."

Tribia says, "One of them stumbled upon the village."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Bellesue.

Eclevdra asks, speaking to Tribia, "Have there been any who recovered from it? Ever?"

Ycelacie curiously asks, "Anyone can heal?"

Mnar turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Kuiu says, speaking to Jiarine, "I was cold."

Tabubu lightly drums her fingers on her leg.

Jiarine asks, "Was it worth it?"

Tribia says, "Our healers tended her, but she's in a bad way. Doesn't speak our tongues, though."

Jiarine asks, "Is she still here?"

Gespry melodically says, "Please let Tribia finish."

Kothos nods once at Tribia.

Tribia says, "Can't find a thing wrong with her, but I think she's dying. It was from her that I heard that word: Zerroth."

Leafiara nods slowly.

Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "I see."

Vaemyr nods at Tribia.

Perigourd frowns.

Roelon raises an eyebrow.

A pained expression crosses Mnar's face.

Guarrin nods appreciatively at Darcena.

Nairena nods slowly.

Mnar says, speaking to Tribia, "That's impossible."

Perigourd says, speaking to Guarrin, "Seems confirmed then."

Missoni bites her lip.

Guarrin slowly empties his lungs.

Darcena frowns at Tribia.

Tribia asks, speaking to Mnar, "What's a Zerroth?"

Guarrin nods grimly.

Perigourd says, speaking to Tribia, "Who."

Jiarine says, "It would be worthwhile to get her to Icemule... For study and possible recovery."

Trouthe says, "Bad."

Perigourd says, speaking to Tribia, "A berserker of V'tull, very powerful."

Kothos says, "The High Priest of the Berserker God."

Mnar says, "He was a monster. An acolyte of V'tull. He died years ago."

Sorlu says, ""what" is also a fair question..."

Vaemyr nods.

Selfane says, "Allegedly."

Teaberry says, "Or we thought he died, anywy. We hoped he had."

Dendum drums his fingers thoughtfully against his chin and inhales the cedar-scented smoke smoldering away within his pipe deeply.

Mnar says, speaking to Selfane, "He wasn't the sort of person who 'allegedly' died."

Vaemyr says, speaking to Tribia, "We believe, he was entombed near here."

Selfane asks, "He was the sort of person who doesn't die?"

Selfane grins.

Nairena takes a bite of her red apple.

Tribia says, "Some of the gigas worship a god like that."

Kothos says, speaking quietly to Tribia, "A Kindred who was the avatar of V'tull, and His agent in the Griffin Sword conflict some years past."

Missoni traces the lines of her star tattoo.

Lurrah nods slowly at Tribia.

Guarrin asks, speaking to Vaemyr, "Who would have brought him this far north?"

Guarrin shakes his head, totally at a loss.

Tribia says, "I remember... it was some years ago, there was green fire in the sky to the south, near the Issenflow."

Lurrah says, "Makes them stronger."

Eclevdra turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Tribia says, "I was just a young scout then."

Nairena says, speaking to Guarrin, "Someone that wanted to hide him from us."

Kothos glances at Guarrin.

Leafiara nods understandingly.

Jiarine says, "That particular war was over and lost."

Tribia says, "I saw the gigas carrying one of their own on a bier. Someone had done a number on him. His arms were blackened, almost like rock."

As Tabubu scratches the pale golden margay behind the ears, the margay closes her eyes and tilts her head slightly to one side.

Guarrin grunts.

Roelon furrows his brow.

Leafiara furrows her brow.

Leafiara agrees with Roelon.

Guarrin asks, speaking to Tribia, "Did they look like claws?"

Perigourd folds his arms over his chest.

Tribia nods at Guarrin.

Tribia says, "But I don't think he was dead. I saw him breathe. Spooked me enough that I ran all the way back to the village."

Nairena says, speaking to Jiarine, "Sometimes you got to kill the idea before the war is truly over."

Perigourd slowly drums his fingers on his leather baldric, narrowing his eyes.

Darcena casually glances at Guarrin.

Mnar frowns.

Dergoatean says, "That is not dead which can eternal lie..."

Kothos says, "Morvule Thinavael was said to use green fire in many of his magics."

Guarrin clenches his jaw.

Jiarine says, "Lornon followers are all mad anyway."

Perigourd nods in agreement at Kothos.

Vaemyr glances at Guarrin.

Dendum remarks, speaking to Mnar, ""Even the Argent Mirror fears that name Zerroth...was it possible it was one of these Gigas."

Talliver says, "Zerroth. Here."

Mohrgan stares off into space.

A log crashes and falls over into the fire. The flames grow upon it slowly, like roses awakening, until the whole log is aglow with a garden of embers.

Roelon shivers.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Talliver, "Sounds that way..."

Talliver says, "All of these visions have had more than a kernel of truth to them."

Mnar quavers, speaking to Dendum, "He wasn't that large."

Mohrgan softly murmurs, "Well, that's...that doesn't bode well..."

Kothos folds his arms over his chest.

Guarrin nods in agreement at Mnar.

Regwen nods in agreement at Mohrgan.

Dendum drums his fingers thoughtfully against his chin and inhales the cedar-scented smoke smoldering away within his pipe deeply.

Tribia says, "If he was dead, or if they couldn't wake him, they would have brought him to the Angargreft."

Kothos says, "Maybe not. But the piles of dead he left behind in the Landing, on Teras..."

Jiarine asks, "Which is?"

Vaemyr nods slowly at Tribia.

Teaberry asks, "What is the Angargreft?"

Aeith says, "Angar...."

Roelon deeply says, "Angargreft...."

Jiarine glances at Tribia.

Guarrin repeats, speaking to himself, "Angargreft."

Cryheart asks, "Undead?"

Roelon deeply says, "Heard of this before...."

[TownCrier]-GSIV:Arianiss: "My comment was a joke..."

Tribia says, "It's... it's a big tomb."

Cryheart glances at Tribia.

Randsford nods slowly at Roelon.

Jiarine asks, "Where?"

Cryheart nods at Guarrin.

Roelon blinks.

Leafiara understandingly says, "Ahh."

Raelee asks, speaking to Guarrin, "Is it familiar to you?"

Trouthe asks, "In the cemetary here?"

Aeith asks, "Was that the structure we saw from the airship on the way here?"

Eclevdra's jaw drops.

Tribia says, "The wyrms roost there, and some of the gigas are crazy enough to tend their young there."

Guarrin looks over at Raelee and shakes his head.

Raelee takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.

Kothos nods at Tribia.

Vaemyr blinks.

Eclevdra stares off into space.

Katiesa nods slightly.

Gespry ponders.

Leafiara interestedly asks, "Wyrms?"

Tribia says, "I don't understand those people--if you can call something that big a person."

A pained expression crosses Missoni's face.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Leafiara, "We saw one in the air."

Eclevdra asks, "Genuine wyrms?"

Tribia glances at Darcena.

Guarrin says, speaking to Raelee, "But now I know where to go."

Tribia quietly says, "No offense."

Eclevdra's face turns slightly pale.

Perigourd says, speaking to Tribia, "They may think the same of those smaller."

Perigourd chuckles.

Roelon says, speaking deeply to Leafiara, "Those winged thing that attacked Mukle."

Leafiara clarifies, speaking to Vaemyr, "The plural was the more interesting part..."

Leafiara looks at Vaemyr and breaks into a cheeky grin.

Darcena gives a sidelong glance at Tribia.

Treeva chuckles to herself.

Kothos gives a sidelong glance at Guarrin.

Eklectic says, "You halflings are all abominations. size matters not."

Roelon grins.

Leafiara nods in agreement at Roelon.

Mnar stares at Eklectic.

Dayzed frowns at Eklectic.

Talliver glances at Eklectic.

Jiarine adds, "I heard that they ate some of the gate guards too."

Roelon glances at Eklectic.

Perigourd scratches at his beard.

Roelon slowly empties his lungs.

Bigsword rolls his eyes.

Missoni shifts her eyes to Eklectic.

Tabubu arches one eyebrow at Eklectic in an expression of sardonic amusement.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Leafiara, "I assumed there were potentially multiple, since there were multiple sick ones that attacked the other night."

Hazelnut's writing hits a momentary pause. He looks baffled.

Whirlin asks, speaking quietly in Halfling to Leafiara, something you don't understand.

Mnar apologizes, speaking to Tribia, "Please excuse our... companion here."

Leafiara hoots at Whirlin.

Guarrin nods appreciatively at Darcena.

Whirlin asks, speaking quietly to Leafiara, "Are those that zombie that pops up every once in a while?"

Drazaa says, "Here we are then."

Tribia nods at Mnar.

Roblar smiles.

The fire brings a welcome warmth that seems to soak into your very bones and makes you feel relaxed.

Tribia says, "Tough times, these."

Yavs gives Darcena a friendly hug.

Leafiara says, speaking amusedly to Whirlin, "No."

Yavs sits down.

Leafiara snickers.

Yavs softly says, "This seems safer than out there."

Yavs pants.

Aeith nods at Yavs.

Eclevdra says, speaking to Tribia, "Sooth."

Yakushi nods.

Svardin shakes his head.

Perigourd says, "V'reen took those in the night as well."

Perigourd nods at Missoni.

Missoni agrees with Perigourd.

Tribia says, "Something's been going on at the Angargreft."

Dendum inquires, speaking to Tribia, ""We have seen some of these hungry halflings and giant wolf like creatures as far south as the Ice Mule...do you know how they would come to be so far south?"

Drazaa sits down.

Missoni cocks her head at Tribia.

Gespry nods slowly.

Cryheart turns an inquisitive ear toward Tribia.

Tribia says, speaking to Dendum, "Dark magics, I'd wager."

Guarrin raises an eyebrow in Tribia's direction.

Gespry nods at Roelon.

Roblar ponders.

Lurrah asks, speaking anxiously to Tribia, "Oh?"

Talliver says, speaking to Tribia, "The darkest."

Vaemyr nods at Tribia.

Nairena nods.

Sasathi deeply asks, "Anyone healing at the moment?"

Nairena says, "Makes sense."

Archeth leans forward.

Yakushi says, "Thanks."

Roelon nods slowly.

Vaemyr says, speaking to Talliver, "Sounds like that's where we find Zeban."

Roelon nods at Gespry . Nairena smiles at Drazaa.

Dendum inquires, ""At the Angargreft?"

Mnar nods at Dendum.

Talliver says, speaking to Vaemyr, "Just so."

Drazaa smirks at Nairena.

Perigourd says, speaking to Talliver, "It would seem that this cemetary might give us some idea as to our quarry."

Nairena glances at Drazaa and cringes.

Katiesa stomps down hard with one of her white ora-inset boots.

Kothos nods at Perigourd.

Leafiara adopts an agreeable expression.

Tribia says, "You won't be able to get in, even if you were crazy enough to do that."

Roblar adopts an agreeable expression.

Vaemyr glances at Tribia.

Kothos asks, speaking to Tribia, "Why is that?" Mohrgan quietly says, "Perhaps we should go have a look, whilst we have such a force as this arrayed."

Tribia says, "There's a big bloody globe around the whole thing."

Aeith says, "So, just a lich, wyrms, and gigas, all gathered together."

Nairena says, speaking to Drazaa, "You dont look so good."

Mohrgan glances north.

Vaemyr asks, "How so?"

Leafiara rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Gespry melodically says, "A bubble to burst."

Tribia says, "Some sort of awful magic. Looks like the prophet's work."

Lurrah nods slowly at Tribia.

Nairena grins at Drazaa.

Missoni asks, "Oh, is that the sanguine sphere we saw from the airship?"

Perigourd surreptitiously glances at Sorlu.

Vaemyr nods at Missoni.

Leafiara understandingly says, "I see, I see."

Aeith says, "And awful magic, the situation keeps improving."

Nairena scoots over next to Drazaa.

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "We're all fairly familiar with the world being uncooperative. I bet we have a key here, in our midst."

Aeith nods.

Falvicar nods.

Sorlu hums a seemingly random tune.

Drazaa smiles at Nairena.

Gespry glances at Sorlu.

Perigourd asks, speaking to Sorlu, "Can it be penetrated with the other tablet?"

Perigourd cocks his head at Sorlu.

Mnar raises an eyebrow in Kothos's direction.

Vaemyr says, "We have many very talented with powerful magic as well, it may not be tonight, but we'll find a way to breach it."

Jiarine says, "Stick the bait out on a string and see what comes to bite."

Jiarine gives a sidelong glance at Sorlu.

Dergoatean asks, in Guildspeak, something you don't understand.

Sorlu raises an eyebrow.

Tribia says, "The gigas might know a way in that we don't, but..."
Tribia says, "...good luck talking to her."

Dendum drums his fingers thoughtfully against his chin and inhales the cedar-scented smoke smoldering away within his pipe deeply.

Leafiara nods understandingly.

Darcena looks thoughtfully at Tribia.

(Ragz high-fives Treeva!)

Eclevdra says, "Not yet."

Roelon grins at Tribia.

Kothos says, "Surely there's some way in."

Neovik snickers at Ragz.

Geijon says, speaking to Tribia, "We'd be willing to try."

Perigourd nods in agreement at Geijon.

Ragz flashes a wide grin at Neovik.

Kothos asks, "Is there a follower of the Wargod, here?"

Aeith agrees with Geijon.

Darcena says, "Mountan is back home, unfortunately."

Sorlu chuckles to himself.

Lurrah nods slowly.

Jiarine says, "I am sure that the gigas would be fascinated to hear the story that the other tablet has to tell."

Cryheart says, "Perhaps some of our giantkin could converse with her language."

Cryheart rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Darcena nods once at Lurrah.

Roblar glances at Dergoatean.

Roblar deeply says, "Not you."

Roblar smiles.

Leafiara gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Kothos says, "The sphere may part for someone of His order."

Roblar nods slowly.

Daiyon sits down.

Guarrin says, speaking to Cryheart, "I would be surprised if we spoke the same language, but perhaps."

Treeva gives a slight flick of her wrist, and some ripe strawberry lipgloss suddenly appear in her hand!

Treeva dabs her finger into her ripe strawberry lipgloss and applies a bit to her lips.

Treeva flicks her wrist and a tiny fiery glow obscures some ripe strawberry lipgloss briefly before it disappears entirely from her hand!

Nairena throws open her black silk cloak. It billows out behind her like a pair of wings.

Cryheart nods at Guarrin.

Cryheart adopts an agreeable expression.

Ragz carefully surveys his surroundings.

Cryheart says, "Worth a shot."

Sorlu says, speaking to Perigourd, "I'm unsure."

Lurrah says, "Of course. I've been waiting for almost a year to determine if the tales were true."

Dergoatean says, in Giantman, something you don't understand.

Mnar asks, "Is there a way in under the bubble?"

Dergoatean ducks his head.

Roblar chuckles.

Randsford says, "We should first help this village however we can and have Ellerel establish a portal so that we have a means of bringing supplies and reinforcements. Once we have secured the area we can venture forth."

Tribia says, "None of the buildings here are big enough for her, so she's been resting in the woods near the cemetery."

Roelon nods at Randsford.

Kothos nods at Tribia.

Perigourd says, "Into the woods."

Perigourd hums a seemingly random tune.

Tribia says, "Feel free to talk to her if you want. She's docile enough... for a gigas."

Aeith says, "It's worth a try. Perhaps its like how a Sylvan can understand Elven. The words have similar shape even though they grew different over time."

Roelon deeply says, "If we rush without ah way for reinforcements...."

Tabubu agrees with Randsford.

Roelon nods at Randsford.

Tabubu says, speaking quietly to Randsford, "I second that."

Missoni asks, speaking to Perigourd, "And home... maybe?"

Missoni shifts her weight.

Roelon deeply says, "And fail..."

Perigourd says, speaking to Missoni, "If we survive, perhaps."

Gespry stands up.

Roelon deeply says, "More then just our lives."

Mnar nods slowly at Tribia.

Roelon stands up.

Leafiara stands up.

Tribia says, "I know it's hard to tell, but it's time for me to hit the rack. Excitement or no."

Vaemyr stands up.

Leafiara pleasedly says, "A lead, then."

Mnar stands up.

Guarrin nods at Tribia.

Archeth stands up.

Leafiara nods understandingly at Tribia.

You stand back up.

Vaemyr nods at Tribia.

Talliver says, speaking to Tribia, "Before you do, I wonder if I might trouble you with more questions."

Gespry cocks his head at Talliver.

Geijon asks, speaking to Tribia, "Can you give more directions?"

Trouthe bows to Tribia.

Leafiara happily says, "Thank you for the information."

Cryheart turns toward Tribia and renders a sharp salute with his vultite greataxe.

Randsford bows to Tribia.

Zeminar says, speaking darkly to Tribia, "The night is young."

Talliver glances at Hazelnut.

Regwen nods in agreement.

Cryheart says, "Thank ye for the history."

Dergoatean says, speaking to Tribia, "Truly a pleasure to meet you."

Talliver asks, speaking to Hazelnut, "Will you handle things with the... gigas?"

Guarrin nods appreciatively at Tribia.

Geijon bows to Tribia.

Randsford says, speaking to Tribia, "Thank you for the information. We will do what we can to assist."

Katiesa leans on her crook. Trouthe says, speaking to Tribia, "Thank you for your hospitality."

Kothos says, speaking to Tribia, "Thank you for the welcome, and the fire."

Nairena stands up.

Drazaa nods respectfully at Tribia.

Missoni says, speaking to Tribia, "It was lovely to meet you."

Nairena dusts off her spidersilk skirt.

Hazelnut says, "I think I might actually be able to be of assistance. All of that time spent with the giant tribes..."

Dendum cups his gleaming teabowl in both hands, running a finger across its intricately carved nature scene before taking a drink.

Dendum looks rather relaxed.

Hazelnut stands up.

Aeith bows to Tribia.

Dergoatean says, speaking to Tribia, "If we cross paths again - I am Goat."

Dergoatean and Tribia shake hands.

Dendum tucks a gleaming black agate teabowl carved with a forest motif into a small pocket inside of his sepia tunic.

Perigourd moves away from Talliver, over to Hazelnut, and stands ready to guard him from attack.

Eclevdra says, speaking to Tribia, "Iscovery, even if a tale of woe woven in."

The charcoal cat sits down, her tail curling to cover her front paws.

Tribia says, "Pleasure on my side as well."

Kothos buries his face in his hands.

Roelon bows to Tribia.

Nairena says, speaking to Tribia, "Rest well."

Leafiara turns to Tribia and cheers!

Gespry nods understandingly at Tribia.

Kothos slowly empties his lungs.

Jaysehn glances around the room.

Sorlu smiles at Tribia.

Eclevdra bows to Tribia.

Tribia asks, speaking to Talliver, "Sure. We can talk, I suppose. Sounds like we might be... cousins?"

Meliyara nods appreciatively at Tribia.
