Amber is fossilized and solidified tree sap. It often contains things within it, such as leaves, bark, or insects.

a droplet of honey amber

Description:   The teardrop jewel is the precise hue of rich, fresh honey, an even reddish-golden throughout. A tiny sand flea is preserved within.

a piece of blood amber

Description:   The bead of amber is infused with a swirl of deeper, redder hue, as if a single droplet of blood had fallen into a flow of fresh honey. A small mite is trapped within the gem, its delicate wings and spindly shape preserved by its enduring prison.

a piece of golden amber

Description:   Roughly oval in shape, a piece of amber is broad and flat, providing an excellent view of its transparent interior portion. Trapped within the golden yellow fossilized pine tree sap are several small flying insects and a dried flower.

some polished dark blue amber

Description:   Encased in seemingly clear varnish, the blue amber forms a roughly spherical shape. Chaotic swirls beneath the surface resemble a rolling mass of thunder clouds that transition from a water blue at the edges to nearly black at the center.

Description:   Incursions of sea blue and green collide within the amber teardrop to create a vivid swirl of dazzling brilliance. Each hue vies for dominance just beneath the polished surface, while yellowish light at its heart illuminates the struggle.
