Ayniya Crafyien is the owner of Ayniya's Imbeddables in Solhaven.
Description
Short for a human, Crafyien's pensive expression and quiet demeanor give the impression that she may be more at home in a sunlit forest glade than here in a busy port town. Dressed in a simple, pale green gown beneath a leather work apron, and with only a couple stray locks of chestnut hair escaping from beneath an ivory kerchief, she is the very picture of a pragmatic artisan whose primary focus is her craft.
Ambients
Ayniya glances up from her workbench. "I have as wide a selection of woods as any maker of wands that I know of, plus I carve pendants and talismans besides," she says, flashing a quick smile which momentarily reveals the beauty hidden behind her normally pensive expression. Ayniya picks up a fel talisman from the workbench and braces it against the bench pin as she cuts runes in it with a V-gouge. Glancing up, she comments, "Fel seems to be a favorite with the sorcerous types," and shrugs as she finishes her carving and once again sets the talisman aside. "Depending on the particular piece of wood, I can usually get an amulet or pendant from the unworked portion of wood that's clamped in in the vise when I'm shaping a rod or wand," comments Ayniya without looking up from her work. Following a downward glance and a brief frown, Ayniya disappears behind her workbench, which doubles as a counter for transacting business. The clatter of pieces of wood being rearranged is heard for several seconds before her head reappears above the bench. "No reason to damage perfectly good wood by stepping on it," she explains matter-of-factly. "Yes, some day, I'd love to have my own shop," Ayniya says with a sigh. "If you'd told me when I was a child that I would end up living in the dingy cellar of an older hedgewizard's house, making money off of magical carvings, I think I would have trained harder during my apprenticeship."
