The prominent feature of this dim, compact space, is the short walnut bar lined with some squat bar stools bolted to the floor, providing beverages and respite along the far wall. Behind it, shelves rise to the ceiling displaying an assortment of colored bottles in all shapes and sizes. Rows of brass pipes run overhead and along the walls, punctuated by the odd knob or valve handle. A half dozen ale kegs are strapped to the floor behind the bar, lashed together with thick leather belts. You also see a standing vertical ladder and a wheel-handled hatch.

short walnut bar The surface of this bar has been lacquered many times, creating a thick, yellowed, translucent finish over the walnut grain.

a wooden mug of Lamprey Lager	The smooth lager offers a good balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Tasting of sweet malt, the lager possesses a flavor you can't quite figure out.
a wooden mug of Barnacle Brew	The thick brew is a balance of malt flavor with a hint of hops. The hearty brew is accompanied by the faint aftertaste of orange flavoring.
a wooden mug of Pufferfish Porter	You savor the soft, roasted flavor. The silky soft liquid carries a fruity aroma.
a wooden mug of Octopus Ale	The interplay of wheat, hops, and yeast creates a flinty, dry crispness. Elusive scents of orange and clove mingle with the sweet, yeasty flavors.
