Shop Name Ye Olde Sweete Shoppe

Holly Sweetleaf is the proprietor of Ye Olde Sweete Shoppe in Solhaven.

Description

Shorter and slender, the proprietress is a woman of indeterminate age, her features seeming carved from pale marble. She looks decidedly out of place amidst the pastel sweets and sugar-dusted marzipans of the shop, but a smudge of chocolate along one cheek mars her otherwise prim appearance. Her hair is so blonde as to be almost silver, and her eyes are sparkling chips of ice that regard the surroundings with a private, distant amusement.

Ambients

"You know, sweets make a wonderful gift," suggests Holly with a smile.

Holly unabashedly snitches a white chocolate dipped pretzel from a tray in the case and pops it into her mouth.

After wiping her hands on her apron, Holly rearranges each tray of goodies on display, moving the candies into neat rows toward the front of the case.

Holly steps briefly outside the front door of the shop, returning with a smile on her face as she inhales deeply. "You know, your nose gets used to the wonderful aromas in here and your mouth stops watering, unless you take in some fresh air from time to time.

A chime sounds from the kitchen, and Holly Sweetleaf excuses herself and disappears through the swinging door. Moments later, she reappears carrying a wooden tray covered with rows of pastel lavender puffs. As she sets the tray in the display case she smiles and says, "I understand these were quite a favorite of the previous" proprietress. No wonder she was so immense."

Holly Sweetleaf points to the peanut brittle castle and says, "Alas, that belonged to the previous proprietress. I wanted to be rid of the awful thing, but it seems some of the local children have difficulties letting go of the past."

The kitchen chime sounds and Holly Sweetleaf heads through the swinging door only to return moments later with a tray of licorice confections. "I've never developed a taste for these," she confesses, "but some folks just love them."

Holly Sweetleaf helps a group of children pick out an assortment of candies, and then smirks wryly as they exit the shop discussing who will eat what first.

Holly Sweetleaf delicately adjusts an arrangement of white chocolate dipped pretzels.
