The general dye is a fluff script that applies to miscellaneous items. It is also referred to as dyer's tent dye. It is a separate dye system from alchemy dye and cobbling dye.

Additional Information
General dye is used at a dyer's tent. To dye an eligible item, you must hold the dye in one hand, the item in the other hand, and use ORDER in front of the dyer's tent clerk.
General dye can be converted into alchemy dye by using ORDER BOTTLE with the Dyer's tent clerk.
