This ancient shield is crudely made with leather straps to bind the shield to the arm and simple hammered vultite for the face. It is difficult to tell if the dents are made from the hammering of the metal or from clashes in battles long ago.  More recent work has been added to the edges of the shield, displaying some sort of writing or runes done on a fine silver trim.

A deep voice enters your mind and sings,

"The cold winter's frost had finally gone The night winds were warm, the sun brightly shone The giantkin knew it was time to re-gather And display their prowess on fields of battle."

The voice continues on with the song,

"They gathered with their usual vigor Preparing to fight to see who was the best Not for reward or riches did they fight They tested their mettle, that was enough." The deep voice continues almost softly,

"As battles prepared they did see on the hill At first one short man, then a horde The alert went out to all men of height A shift in the tides made them all stay."

The deep voice becomes strong as it continues,

"The short men were garbed all in armor So small were they, the giants did goggle Down the hills the short people ran Raising their swords, intending to battle."
