Zofiya strides in, muttering under her breath.
Kalyrra grins at Rohese.
Rohese stands up.
Yardie says, "I hope to investigate more about Andos. Hoping that I get a lead...or clue...something."
Yardie glances at Zofiya.
Speaking to Rohese, Kalyrra says, "You, as well."
Trallihn's sentient potato whistles a jaunty little ditty!
Speaking warmly to Zofiya, Rohese greets, "Administrator."
Rohese nods in greeting at Zofiya.
Kalyrra nods to Zofiya in greeting.
Sirona just arrived, striding along.
Trallihn quietly grunts at Zofiya in greeting.
Zofiya apologetically says, "If you would bear with me for a moment, I need to get this thought down while it's fresh in my brain."
Sirona smiles.
Rohese smiles at Sirona.
Rohese nods in greeting at Sirona.
Sirona quietly says, "Afternoon all."
Yardie hugs Sirona, who wraps him in a warm embrace.
Sirona gives Yardie a friendly hug.
Rohese nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Kalyrra nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Speaking to Sirona, Yardie says, "Good to see you."
Zofiya sits down at her desk and quickly begins to scribble on a parchment, muttering all the while.
Rohese finds an empty space on a bench and settles into it.
Sirona smiles at Yardie.
Rohese takes a tiny sip of her warm lavender tea, warming her lips and making sure it's cool enough to drink.
Speaking quietly to Yardie, Sirona says, "You as well."
Zofiya lays down her quill with a sigh, then looks up with a somewhat shaky smile.
Zofiya apologetically says, "Thank you. Again, my apologies for the rudeness."
A blue-stippled bark brown moth suddenly grows restless and detangles itself from Trallihn's beard. It makes its way up, up, up to traverse the bare skin of Trallihn's face. He reaches up quickly as though to catch the annoying critter, but the moth simply reverses course and nestles back down into his facial hair once again.
Sirona whispers something to Yardie.
Rohese smiles at Zofiya.
Sirona smiles at Zofiya.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese reassures, "No need to apologise, I'm sure you have much to deal with."
Kalyrra agrees with Rohese.
Speaking respectfully to Rohese, Zofiya says, "I was well pleased to hear from you, Loremaster. We do not cross paths nearly often enough, it seems."
Rohese smiles at Zofiya.
Speaking kindly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "My thoughts exactly."
Sirona finds an empty space on a bench and settles into it.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "I just wish it was under better circumstances."
Zofiya gives a small smile, which quickly slides away.
Zofiya nods in agreement at Rohese.
Sirona nods slowly.
Sirona takes a drink from her warm sylvan tea.
(Rohese lowers both hands into her lap, cradling her warm lavender tea in them.)
Zofiya quietly asks, "I have some news to share, but it can wait. Did you have something that you wished to discuss?"
Rohese glances around the room.
Speaking to Zofiya, Trallihn asks, "Any word on the coffee order?"
Trallihn idly digs in his ear with his forefinger for a moment. He pulls his finger out and squints at some earwax stuck to his fingertip. For some reason, he sniffs at it before casually rolling the earwax into a tiny ball between his forefinger and thumb. Looking satisfied, he flicks it away with a grunt.
Speaking to Zofiya, Yardie says, "I...it's been difficult to find any leads. It's rather frustrating."
Kalyrra grins at Trallihn.
Speaking tentatively to Zofiya, Rohese says, "I was hoping to speak with you about whether the Chronomages had reconsidered their deadline."
Sirona shudders.
Zofiya slowly empties her lungs.
Sirona glances between Rohese and Zofiya.
Rohese wrinkles her nose.
Zofiya seriously says, "I have yet to hear baack from them, honestly. The last communication was that the deadline stands."
Rohese lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Zofiya quietly says, "And I have received some troubling news from the Iyo, as well."
Zofiya closes her eyes for a moment.
Rohese inclines her head.
Kalyrra cocks her head at Zofiya.
Speaking to Zofiya, Yardie asks, "How troubling?"
Speaking concernedly to Zofiya, Rohese asks, "Oh?"
Rohese takes a tiny sip of her warm lavender tea, warming her lips and making sure it's cool enough to drink.
The sound of a hacking cough emits from Trallihn's tattered filthy towel.
A mixture of confusion and curiosity crosses Sirona's face as she studies Zofiya.
Zofiya quietly says, "Trader Uhlen has sent me a rather... formal letter. It would seem that there was some issue with Kiyonna recently, and relations are... very strained. The bottom line of the communication was that for now we should consider the Iyo as neutral, but we have been requested not to journey into Iyo territory, for our own safety."
Rohese furrows her brow.
Kalyrra nods slowly at Zofiya.
Zofiya slowly empties her lungs.
Sirona raises an eyebrow.
Yardie knowingly says, "The accusation."
Speaking carefully to Zofiya, Rohese says, "That is unfortunate."
Zofiya tiredly says, "It seems as if there are fires to put out in every direction lately."
Yardie mutters, "She snitched."
Zofiya blinks at Yardie.
The grey cocklebur hanging from Trallihn's neck suddenly flares a bright shade of green.
Rohese glances between Yardie and Zofiya.
Speaking quietly to Yardie, Sirona asks, "What do you mean?"
Sirona glances at Yardie.
Speaking to Zofiya, Yardie says, "My...assumption? She was accused of the fires....and that might have led to this circumstance."
Speaking softly to Yardie, Rohese asks, "Snitched is a rather unpleasant term, what can you possibly mean?"
Rohese raises an eyebrow.
Zofiya nods slowly at Yardie.
Speaking neutrally to Yardie, Zofiya says, "I heard much the same from Brank, just this morning. The letter arrived soon after."
Sirona looks thoughtfully at Yardie.
Rohese takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose.
Sirona quietly says, "Hmm."
Kalyrra ponders.
A slight wince crosses Trallihn's face as he gives a light tug of his beard.
Zofiya tiredly says, "I have now added 'Repair relations with the Iyo' to my list of impossible tasks."
Rohese looks at Zofiya with concern.
Sirona quietly asks, "So where is Kiyonna now? Still with the Iyo?"
Speaking kindly to Zofiya, Rohese offers, "If there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask."
Speaking to Sirona, Zofiya says, "I believe so. I have no reason to believe otherwise, and given the current climate, I don't think it likely we will know for certain."
Zofiya nods appreciatively at Rohese.
Yardie quietly says, "That complicates matters."
Sirona nods slowly at Zofiya.
Speaking apologetically to Rohese, Zofiya says, "My apologies, you did not ask for this meeting to hear my troubles."
Speaking hastily to Zofiya, Rohese reassures, "Not at all, I merely wish to help in ensuring the future of the Isle for all concerned."
Kalyrra grins at Rohese.
Zofiya nods understandingly at Rohese.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese confides, "I have grown rather fond of the Library."
Rohese wrinkles her nose.
Rohese takes a tiny sip of her warm lavender tea, warming her lips and making sure it's cool enough to drink.
Speaking to Rohese, Zofiya says, "Indeed! We'll find a way forward... I just don't know for sure what it will be yet."
Speaking hesitantly to Zofiya, Rohese adds, "May I offer a suggestion?"
Rohese bites her lip.
Zofiya nods encouragingly.
Zofiya says, "Please do."
Trallihn's sentient potato whistles a jaunty little ditty!
A low thrum and grind of gears emanates from Trallihn's second-rate case.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese acknowledges, "This is purely my opinion and I may be wrong but it would seem to me that the priority right now is the issue with the Chronomages."
Zofiya nods slowly.
Kalyrra nods at Rohese.
Zofiya says, "It does appear to be the most imminent trouble, I suppose."
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "After all, nothing can be done to allay the differences with the Iyo or deal with the Hyssch if we are no longer permitted on the Isle."
Rohese shrugs slightly.
Zofiya nods understandingly at Rohese.
Sirona agrees with Rohese.
Sirona gazes thoughtfully at her warm sylvan tea.
Sirona takes a drink from her warm sylvan tea.
The sound of a hacking cough emits from Trallihn's tattered filthy towel.
Speaking tentatively to Zofiya, Rohese suggests, "Perhaps press for a meeting with them again and be honest with them - share your troubles and fears with them."
Zofiya turns an inquisitive ear toward Rohese.
Sirona nods in agreement at Rohese.
Rohese softly says, "I am always telling my husband that honesty is the best policy, even if it makes you uncomfortable."
Rohese wrinkles her nose.
Trallihn nods to a torn and tattered filthy towel covered in questionable stains.
Kalyrra grins.
A blue-stippled bark brown moth extricates itself from the depths of Trallihn's beard. It sets out across the vast expanse of his facial hair like a mountain goat traversing the Dragonspine. Despite a few slips and missteps, it perseveres until reaching the other side where it triumphantly burrows its way down in once again.
Rohese surreptitiously glances at Trallihn.
Zofiya flashes a warm smile, which fades quickly, but her features appear slightly more relaxed.
Sirona quietly says, "Best to keep communications open..."
Speaking to his tattered filthy towel, Trallihn says, "Aye, coffee prolly would help everyone's mood."
Rohese agrees with Sirona.
Kalyrra adopts an agreeable expression.
Speaking quietly to Zofiya, Sirona asks, "Are you still in contact with Socius at all?"
The shaved rat on Trallihn's shoulder makes a sudden flying leap, apparently trying to gain access to the top of his head. Muttering under his breath, he manages to herd the recalcitrant rodent back to his shoulder.
Yardie says, "It's a good idea."
Speaking quietly to Sirona, Zofiya says, "I am not. We haven't... I haven't spoken to him directly since he left, unfortunately."
Rohese inwardly sighs.
Sirona nods slowly.
Rohese regretfully murmurs, "Such a shame."
Trallihn says, "Ordim left a message fer'im.... but no word that I've heard."
Giving only a quick glance around, Trallihn reaches and scratches at one of his armpits.
Speaking quietly to Rohese, Zofiya says, "While I do appreciate honesty, what purpose might that serve? They are already well aware of our situation, I would think."
Rohese nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Speaking quietly to Zofiya, Sirona says, "But they might have more to say on it."
Sirona quietly says, "If you haven't spoken to them directly."
Speaking clearly to Zofiya, Rohese states, "They wish to reclaim the Isle but there won't be an Isle if the Hyssch have their way."
Rohese agrees with Sirona.
Sirona quietly says, "Seems the more heads are put together, the better chances a positive outcome might be."
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese speculates, "I do wonder if they might be willing to ..."
Rohese points at Sirona.
Sirona shrugs nonchalantly.
Rohese softly exclaims, "Exactly!"
Zofiya nods slowly.
Sirona quietly says, "If we need to doster better relations you can really only do that with positive interactions."
Rohese softly posits, "What is time to a Chronomage anyway, I do not understand their sense of urgency."
Rohese takes a tiny sip of her warm lavender tea, warming her lips and making sure it's cool enough to drink.
Sirona quietly says, "Preferrably without ..accusations."
Rohese smiles.
Rohese agrees with Sirona.
Speaking slowly to Rohese, Zofiya says, "That... is a rather intriguing idea..."
Rohese smiles at Zofiya.
Yardie asks, "Do the Chronomages have a concept of time?"
Speaking quietly to Yardie, Sirona says, "I would think so."
Speaking softly to Yardie, Rohese says, "Unlikely."
Speaking to Yardie, Kalyrra says, "When it pleases them, I'm sure."
Sirona chuckles.
Sirona grins at Kalyrra.
Sirona nods in agreement.
Kalyrra grins.
Zofiya thoughtfully says, "Forgive me... I am lost in thought at the possibilities. So we could... explain to the chronomages that the Hyssch are actively working towards destruction of the Isle..."
Rohese agrees with Zofiya.
Zofiya thoughtfully continues, "And they would be well served to let US deal with this problem..."
Yardie quietly muses, "Perhaps the volcano is the timer."
Kalyrra ponders.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "Stress that the security of the Isle of greater import to them."
Sirona quietly says, "I mean...or perhaps work with us...."
Sirona nods at Rohese.
Zofiya thoughtfully concludes, "The issue might be that they will simply return as soon as the Hyssch are dealt with? They still are reclaiming the Isle, after all."
Kalyrra nods slowly.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese acknowledges, "It's a possibility, yes, but you will have more time to consider that thorny problem."
Sirona quietly says, "Inless we find some other way forward it would seem so..."
Yardie asks, "So if the island is cleared, they will remove the Hyssch at the same time, yes?"
Sirona quietly says, "Unless."
A slight wince crosses Trallihn's face as he gives a light tug of his beard.
Rohese cocks her head at Sirona.
Sirona quietly says, "Well...we haven't found another heir."
Speaking softly to Yardie, Rohese says, "I suspect they will leave the problem of the Hyssch to us, they are not known for being helpful."
Zofiya slowly empties her lungs.
Sirona quietly says, "But I still think there is one out there...somewhere."
Rohese smiles at Sirona.
Sirona shrugs innocently.
Speaking softly to Sirona, Rohese says, "So we buy more time to find one."
Speaking to Sirona, Yardie asks, "One...what, exactly?"
Sirona nods slowly.
Zofiya slowly says, "I believe the idea has some merit... if I can get them to agree to a meeting."
Sirona quietly says, "Perhaps..."
Sirona nods in agreement at Zofiya.
Zofiya slowly proposes, "Let me... run a slight variation by you all?"
Rohese inclines her head.
Sirona looks thoughtfully at Zofiya.
Kalyrra turns an inquisitive ear toward Zofiya.
Sirona takes a drink from her warm sylvan tea.
Zofiya slowly says, "Perhaps... we negotiate slightly more forcefully. If I can convince the Chronomages that we would rather side with the Hyssch and destroy the Isle rather than return it peacefully..."
Rohese bites her lip.
Sirona raises an eyebrow.
Speaking to Zofiya, Yardie says, "That's....a gamble."
Sirona quietly says, "Uhh...hmmm."
Speaking reticently to Zofiya, Rohese says, "It's risky but it has merit."
Sirona glances skeptically at Zofiya.
Zofiya slowly concludes, "Then that might give us more leverage, to negotiate for better terms? Perhaps even assignation of the Isle to another family?"
Kalyrra glances at Yardie.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "Not an option I would consider but it's not my place."
Speaking quietly to Zofiya, Sirona says, "I don't think I could be a part of that."
Zofiya carefully asks, "If time is indeed not much of an issue for them... what is it to wait out another bloodline?"
Sirona folds her arms over her chest.
Zofiya nods understandingly.
Yardie says, "If you did that, you'd need Ordim and Talinvor. I can't make that bluff...not anymore."
Zofiya softly says, "Perhaps that is too far of a jump."
Rohese agrees with Zofiya.
Yardie says, "Those two however? Rotten to the core."
Sirona nods firmly at Zofiya.
Zofiya slowly empties her lungs.
Speaking understandingly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "I can see why you would wish to go that route but it's distasteful."
Zofiya tiredly says, "More time would be very welcome, I'll admit. I will do as you suggest, and request another meeting with Vellosior."
Speaking quietly to Zofiya, Sirona says, "Perhaps just be honest and explain the situation with the Hyssch."
Zofiya nods slowly.
Rohese agrees with Sirona.
Rohese softly repeats, "Honesty is always the best policy."
Rohese takes a drink from her warm lavender tea.
Zofiya softly says, "I do not mind sharing that my thoughts are turning more desperate as the hour draws near."
Yardie nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Zofiya softly says, "Thank you for the advice. I should not wish to give up that which makes us who we are for the sake of 'winning'."
Speaking gently to Zofiya, Rohese advises, "And you clearly need to get some sleep."
Zofiya gives a wan smile.
Kalyrra agrees with Rohese.
Yardie asks, "There's....been no word on Greth?"
Speaking quietly to Rohese, Zofiya says, "I shall sleep when I'm dead, Loremaster. I just pray that I am kept waiting for quite some time yet."
Rohese shakes her head at Zofiya and clucks her tongue.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese chastises, "You'll be no good to anyone if you're tired and can't think straight."
Trallihn's tattered filthy towel shakes back and forth for a short couple of moments.
Speaking softly to Yardie, Zofiya comments, "My father..."
Zofiya clears her throat.
Speaking quietly to Yardie, Zofiya says, "Greth has not been seen, nor heard from."
Rohese places a hand over her heart.
Rohese closes her eyes for a moment.
Rohese lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Yardie nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Zofiya clears her throat.
Zofiya brusquely says, "But I am sure that he's doing well."
Zofiya closes her eyes for a moment.
Trallihn's sentient potato whistles a jaunty little ditty!
Rohese quietly says, "Let's hope so, he is sorely missed."
A slight wince crosses Trallihn's face as he gives a light tug of his beard.
Rohese takes a drink from her warm lavender tea.
Trallihn grunts at Rohese in agreement.
Kalyrra nods firmly.
Yardie says, "I wish there were more leads."
Zofiya quietly says, "Indeed. He was the heart of this Isle, and his loss is sorely felt on a daily, if not hourly, basis."
Zofiya slowly empties her lungs.
Sirona furrows her brow.
Rohese firmly exclaims, "And we can't allow Ordim to sequester the bar in the name of the Penguin again!"
Kalyrra grins at Rohese.
Sirona quietly says, "We need to start searching for him."
Speaking quietly to himself, Trallihn says, "Heart o'the isle... anchor..."
Trallihn ponders.
Rohese agrees with Trallihn.
Speaking amusedly to Rohese, Zofiya says, "I believe Mal would take offense at that. He and Brank are at least somewhat known to each other."
Sirona looks thoughtfully at Trallihn.
A low thrum and grind of gears emanates from Trallihn's second-rate case.
Rohese smiles at Zofiya.
Trallihn squints.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "Good to hear. The Stumbling Pebble is in safe hands for now then."
Rohese smiles quietly to herself.
Rohese takes a tiny sip of her warm lavender tea, warming her lips and making sure it's cool enough to drink.
Zofiya stretches her back, eliciting a series of wet pops.
Rohese glances over at Zofiya and winces.
The grey cocklebur hanging from Trallihn's neck suddenly flares a bright shade of green.
Speaking to Trallihn, Yardie says, "Pashtal made a reference to the heart of the isle...said similiar."
Zofiya softly says, "I thank you all for the advice, and the suggestions. I appreciate more than I can say that I have so many that can help me from going too far astray. My teacher always told me that it was critical to seek those individuals out and let them guide me."
Speaking to Trallihn, Yardie says, "Meaning Greth."
Rohese resignedly says, "I should probably return to the Library. Books don't tidy themselves after all."
Trallihn nods at Yardie.
Zofiya nods understandingly at Rohese.
Speaking to Yardie, Trallihn says, "Seems the coffee is more important than any o'us thought."
Trallihn ponders.
Kalyrra grins at Zofiya.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "As I said, please don't hesitate to reach out if I can help at all."
Speaking resignedly to Rohese, Zofiya says, "And I need to send some more letters, it would seem."
Rohese smiles at Zofiya.
Zofiya nods understandingly at Rohese.
Speaking softly to Zofiya, Rohese says, "Yes, you do."
Rohese wrinkles her nose.
Sirona nods understandingly.
Speaking to Yardie, Trallihn asks, "We got some beans in the Falls... ain' the greasy stuff Greth imported, but wha' is?"
Rohese takes a drink from her warm lavender tea.
Quiet gurgling issues from Trallihn's tattered filthy towel.
Sirona glances uneasily at Zofiya.
Sirona stands up.
Sirona sighs.
Rohese stands up.
Speaking to his tattered filthy towel, Trallihn says, "Aye... I guess we could bring some beans."
Speaking quietly to Zofiya, Sirona says, "Get some rest."
Zofiya quietly exclaims, "If you all will excuse me, I do need to get to work. Please let me know if anything arises in the meantime, please!"
Speaking to Trallihn, Yardie says, "I may have to take Spinnerette to the Folly if we do not solve this dilemma."
Zofiya nods in agreement at Sirona.
Rohese nods understandingly at Zofiya.
Trallihn nods at Yardie.
Speaking quietly to Sirona, Zofiya says, "I will do my best."
Zofiya stands up.
Kalyrra nods at Zofiya.
Rohese kindly says, "I wish you all a good afternoon."
Rohese smiles.
Genuine warmth filling his yellowed eyes, Trallihn sweeps low in an extravagant bow, one hand going to his blackened stew pot to keep it in place. As he straightens up, he runs a hand over each of the mismatched handles sticking out from either side of it, eddies of nebulous black sparks flying free as he adjusts them.
Zofiya smiles at Rohese.
Kalyrra grins at Rohese.
Trallihn raps soundly upon his chest with a clenched fist.
Sirona smiles.
Zofiya says, "As will I. Thank you all for coming."
Sirona waves.
Straightening her back, Rohese gives a formal, low curtsy. She inclines her head as well, giving a brief nod.
Sirona strides away moving out.
Zofiya raises a hand in farewell.
Zofiya strides out.
