Get Involved
- Primary storyline events are held on Thursday at 8pm EST and Sunday at 3pm EST. Most start at Stumbling Pebble Bar II. These events are scheduled for the purpose of allowing players to easily participate and interact with GM NPCs. They are not the only means of being involved, nor the only time that player-to-player activity can occur.
- For help getting started you can visit the Premium channel on the official Discord server, or check in during one of the scheduled storyline times. Plenty of people are willing to hang around after the 'official' activities die down, and would be happy to help you get up to speed. Also, make sure to watch the GemStone Events Calendar and the official forums to stay on top of any hiatuses or cancelled events.
- Posting a character vignette on the forums is another avenue of interaction. A vignette is a short and descriptive piece of writing that captures a brief period in time, usually giving indication of what a character may be doing and/or feeling in a particular moment or series of moments. Writers of all skill level can do this, as the most important aspect of a vignette is the enjoyment of creating it.
- With regards to vignettes, GM Quilic invites everyone to email him (gs4-quilic@play.net) if they desire feedback. He can share what your character might experience as it relates to the story, or give guidance on ways their skillset could allow them to get involved.

Phase 1 Notes
| Administrator, your stance on these issues has left much to be desired! You know where to reach me, and I suggest you do so without any further delay, before this matter gets completely out of hand!
I hope this works... I bought this crazy quill from the old man the day before he was murdered, so I didn't get much training or anything, and of course I had to keep it hidden... I have to try and get word out, and this is the only way I can think of to do it safely. The town is in terrible danger. He's coming, and soon! You have to prepare! I hope this works... I can't have another one on my conscience...
| Administrator, your cousin directed me to you, suggesting that you would be the one to resolve the issue with one of my customers. If it is convenient, I would like to request a meeting as soon as possible so that we may go over the particulars.
Administrator, you do not know me, and we are unlikely to ever meet, but I must warn you of a terrible danger approaching your city. I have procured this quill, and hope that I understand it well enough to make my message clear. I... am a prisoner of a mighty Warlord, and he has set his sights on Mist Harbor. I am unsure of his time frame, or what exactly his plans may entail, but I do know that he is coming, and that you must make preparations! I have no idea if this will be intercepted or not, so I will be sending as many letters as I can, through a... friend on the Island. This friend is taking a great risk by assisting me in this, but they and I both agree we cannot witness another ransacking if we could possibly prevent it. The... friend found some information about those you are more familiar with, and will be attempting to pass messages through them as well. Please, Administrator, take heed and take actions to protect your city!
| Administrator, I simply must protest this treatment! My daughter was fully within the law, and it was the shopkeeper that was out of line! You surely must know this, and I cannot for a moment guess at what your true game is. Be warned that I will not sit by idly while you ruin my family's name!
Jaston, I beg you, please guide this missive to someone who can help! Administrator, you must take action. He is coming, and he will loot your city, leaving nothing but carnage in his wake! I have seen it happen too many times, and I could not sit by and watch it happen again... He will likely have a spy already in place. It's how he works. He will either place someone or send his... emissary to do so. I hesitate to write her name for fear this is intercepted, but you would know her by her manner of speech.
| Administrator, this is sixth time I have written you, and I'm afraid I must insist you cease avoiding me. The fact is that the smell from that awful place is driving us all crazy! Surely there must be something you can do!
I beg you, Administrator, take action. I cannot stress enough how much danger your city is in! When he comes, nothing can stop him. That damnable artifact... Prepare, Administrator. Marshal your forces and perhaps you can put up large enough of a fight to convince him to pass over you and turn his attentions to his next target. Though I must caution you... none have succeeded in this before. Make your plans, and swiftly!
| Please deliver to Town Administrator Ilsola. She has been dodging my requests for a meeting, and I am willing to go to great lengths to secure the meeting she promised me to discuss the taxation of the merchants of Mist Harbor. She knows how to reach me.
He's coming. I hope you are able to decipher this in enough time to stop it, but he's coming. I can't be too obvious, or it will be my head on the block next. He enjoys that too much, and would likely get an even greater thrill out of doing it to me. You have to prepare... or flee. I don't know which. But I had to warn you!
| Administrator, I would like to schedule some time to speak with you about immigration. It's simply unconscionable to let individuals move here without any vetting ahead of time! Why, we could have a traitor attempt to gain citizenship, and they would be welcomed with open arms! This cannot stand, Administrator.
I know you have no cause to trust me, but there have to be steps you can take? Beef up the militia? Marshal your town guard? Hells, evacuate?!? He's coming, and I know how he works... how could I not? He already has someone in place, and they will be tasked with choosing targets and making sure the way is clear for his arrival. This will be someone you wouldn't expect, and they'll be doing their best to blend in... Stop the traitor and you might have a chance!
Phase 2 Notes
| Administrator, this has become very urgent! You must take action now, or I shall be forced to report you to the magistrate! Your stance on this issue is completely one-sided, and displays a shocking lack of compassion for your fellow residents! Do not delay, Administrator! Time grows short!
Three different notes, but they all had the same decoy message...
He's arrived, and that means things are moving far faster than I had feared! You must flee! My friend has been watching, and reports you are doing well, but you are up against something far beyond you!
He so far has only brought one ship, which means that the raids will not yet commence, but he has brought none of his vanguard this time! They are the ones who always make the initial foray. No, for HIM to be here before them means there is something else he's after... or some other plan he means to put into motion!
Please, please, whoever finds this: Warn the Administrator, take whatever steps you can to protect your city! I wish I could give you more information, but he's stopped speaking to me... I'm afraid he suspects me of treason. That doesn't matter, though! Watch carefully, and be ready to act! He wouldn't be here if he didn't have SOMETHING planned, and soon!
