Speaking to Renpaw, Madmountan says, "I promise not to put entrails on the floor tonight."

Lylia says, "Thank you, Your Honor, for managing these proceedings. And for choosing the candidates for me."

Lylia smiles thinly.

Renpaw says, "You may direct your question to any, or all, of the candidates."

Renpaw bows to Lylia.

Renpaw grins.

Renpaw nods at Madmountan.

Renpaw says, "Good."

Madmountan grins.

Renpaw says, "We originally had 4 candidates."

Renpaw nods.

Renpaw says, "But one has pulled their nomination."

Renpaw says, "Casiphia has decided to pull her nomination. The remaining candidates are Khylon, Thadston, and Kilron."

Stormyrain asks, "Did she say why?"

Renpaw says, "Indeed."

Renpaw says, "She wished to put her support behind one of the candidates."

Renpaw says, "I did not ask who, but I suspect."

Speaking to Renpaw, Maylan says, "And what of Quin? Surely he deserves to debate tonight."

Renpaw begins chuckling at Maylan!

Stormyrain murmurs, "Then I am glad she removed herself from consideration."

Renpaw says, "I will head down now, to greet the candidates as they arrive."

Renpaw says, "I will call for your questions soon."

The Interim Marshal Candidates Gather

Judge Renpaw just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Renpaw glances at a forest fox.

Renpaw asks, "Thadston?"

Renpaw peers quizzically at a striped owl.

Renpaw asks, "Kilron?"

Renpaw snickers.

Renpaw seems to be waiting for something.

Thadston nods at Kilron.

Thadston smirks.

Renpaw exclaims, "Alright, let us begin!"

Question #1, Leafiara to Thadston: Raznel and Responsibilities

Renpaw clears his throat.

Renpaw yells, "Leafiara!"

You nod once.

>go stair

[Moot Hall, Chamber of Justice] Two high-backed, elaborately carved chairs face the imposing, burnished oak bench where members of the official Town Council convene to decide matters of solemn importance. A narrow stairway leads up to a low balcony that surrounds the chamber, providing ample seating for interested visitors to observe the proceedings. You also see a goofy dune spirit that is flying around, a forest fox, a striped owl that is flying around, a whimsical aurora spirit that is flying around, a touchy tidal spirit that is flying around, a modwir arch and an oak door.

Also here: Lord Thadston, Captain Khylon, Kilron, Judge Renpaw

You smile.

You greet, "Judge, candidates, good eve."

Renpaw bows.

You curtsy gracefully.

Khylon grunts in greeting.

Kilron bows.

You begin, "I have a question for Sir Thadston."

Thadston nods.

Thadston twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Speaking formally to Thadston, you say, "Firstly, thank you for much of what you've done as an ally of the town--especially in the war against Chaston--and now a citizen."

You say, "Nonetheless..."

You ponder the meaning of Thadston's existence.

Thadston grins.

Speaking to Thadston, you acknowledge, "You had previously resigned your post as commander of the Hendoran outpost to pursue Raznel."

You continue, "I assume because it wasn't feasible to handle both duties."

You curiously ask, "How would you balance responsibilities as interim marshal with pursuing Raznel now--if that is still a priority for you?"

Thadston says, "Raznel is very much still a priority to me."

Thadston says, "That will not change, with or without this position."

Thadston says, "If anything, I would help make this town ready to hunt her, not wait to react."

You flash a quick grin at Thadston.

Thadston asks, "Let me ask you. Aren't you tired of reacting?"

Thadston says, "You should be."

You admit, "More than many would think."

You nod at Thadston.

Thadston says, "I do not need to balance a thing, when both my role in protecting the town, and hunting down Raznel, are aligned."

Thadston nods.

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

You nod once at Thadston.

You simply say, "Thank you for your answer and your time."

You curtsy gracefully.

>go stair

You add your name to the signup list.

Question #2, Stormyrain to All: Experience Put to Use

Renpaw yells, "Stormyrain!"

Stormyrain twists her head slightly, cracking her neck. She looks relieved.

Stormyrain just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Lord Chamorr just came through a modwir arch.

Chamorr waves.

Stormyrain says, "Gentlemen, Captain, merry eve to you."

Stormyrain waves to Chamorr.

Khylon grunts in greeting.

Stormyrain gets a blank look on her face.

Kilron bows to Stormyrain.

Hlendril just came through a modwir arch.

Thadston nods at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain clears her throat.

Hlendril glances at Renpaw and folds his arms over his chest.

Stormyrain says, "My question is for all of you--"

Stormyrain gives a sidelong glance at Hlendril.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Hlendril says, "Sorry."

Maylan yells, "We're up here, up the stairs!"

Maylan yells, "Great view from up here!"

Renpaw points at a narrow stairway.

Renpaw nods at Hlendril.

Cruxophim just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Cruxophim reaches out and holds Hlendril's hand.

Cruxophim's group just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Hlendril just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Stormyrain continues, "If you would, briefly, please outline the experience you have that would aid you in leading the Militia. And name one aspect of that service that you believe you would use the most as our interim Marshal."

Hlendril sighs at Renpaw.

Stormyrain smiles at Hlendril.

Hlendril nods at Stormyrain.

Renpaw says, "Please, go upstairs to the balcony, otherwise you will be asked, or not asked, to leave and not disrupt."

Stormyrain nods gratefully.

Hlendril just went through a modwir arch.

Renpaw nods.

Hlendril just came through a modwir arch.

Speaking to Renpaw, Hlendril says, "Yes... Whatever... Stop wasting people's time, blah blah."

Hlendril just went over and threw himself down on the chair.

Hlendril stands up.

Stormyrain clears her throat.

Renpaw begins to twitch.

Hlendril just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Stormyrain asks, "Should I repeat my question?"

Renpaw says, "The stairway is as narrow as his mind."

Renpaw nods at Stormyrain.

Chamorr adds his name to the signup list.

Stormyrain repeats, "If you would, briefly, please outline the experience you have that would aid you in leading the Militia. And name one aspect of that service that you believe you would use the most as our interim Marshal."

Hlendril adds his name to the signup list.

Kilron says, "I'll begin."

Kilron nods.

Kilron says, "I think my experience with Wehnimer's Landing, its people, from all walks of life, the amount of relations I have created and fostered, the vast connections..."

Kilron says, "I would argue I know this town better than any candidate here."

Kilron says, "I think part of what our militia is missing..."

Kilron says, "Is information."

Kilron asks, "The enemy always seems one or two steps ahead, why should we always eat from the Rooks' hands for information?"

Kilron says, "I'm no slouch in combat, but I'm sure the two here could best me..."

Kilron says, "Unless in a dark alley..."

Kilron winks.

Kilron says, "I've enough strategy to bring to the militia, and enough connections to bring a wealth of new information. Let's not always fight hard, but fight smart."

Kilron says, "I am done."

Kilron nods.

Stormyrain murmurs, "Thank you, Kilron."

Stormyrain glances between Thadston and Khylon.

Khylon says, "Well, I once did da job, dat I'm look'n to do again."

Khylon says, "I was once leadin' da militia."

Stormyrain nods.

Stormyrain says, "I remember."

Khylon says, "Had some troubl's from da Rooks and Drangell, and dat witch, got back on me feet."

Khylon says, "Leadin' da town guard now."

Khylon says, "I originally came to da Land'n at da call o' Walkar."

Khylon says, "He ask'd me and mah mercs to come help protect da town."

Khylon says, "I ain't ev'r left since."

Khylon says, "Sometimes I color outside da lines, but I get da job done, and sometimes messy, I won't lie, but I'm stubborn as hell and I won't bend to any enemy."

Khylon says, "I can make our men and women o' da militia sharp and tough. I know it."

Thadston asks, "I suppose me now?"

Thadston says, "I can do everything Khylon and Kilron said, but better."

Stormyrain slowly says, "You are the only one left."

Stormyrain folds her arms over her chest.

Stormyrain shifts her weight.

Thadston nods.

Stormyrain asks, "--was that your entire answer?"

Thadston says, "I don't need a bunch of words to make my point. I think my history speaks for itself."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain says, "Not everyone here knows your history, which is why my question was specific."

Thadston says, "I'm running for interim marshal. Not interim Glissando."

Stormyrain murmurs, "Could have fooled me with what I've seen."

Thadston asks, "Come again?"

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain asks, "Are you going to answer the question as it stands, or are you leaving your answer as you've stated?"

Thadston asks, "How could I have fooled you?"

Stormyrain raises her eyebrow, the dark bloodjewel half-ring set within only enhancing her skeptical expression.

Thadston squints.

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain asks, "Come again?"

Thadston says, "Nevermind..."

Stormyrain clenches her jaw.

Stormyrain says, "I will take this as you do not wish to answer the question. Thank you."

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Stormyrain turns around.

Stormyrain just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Thadston says, "I've been a warrior and a leader my entire life. I've had to hold the hearts of my men in battles, when all seemed futile, and I've had to hold just as many as they took their last breath."

Speaking to Chaoswynd, Stormyrain requests, "Coffee, please?"

Chaoswynd grabs some hazelnut cinnamon coffee from a small pocket inside of his black leather longcoat.

Thadston says, "Well...fine."

Chaoswynd offers Stormyrain some hazelnut cinnamon coffee.

Stormyrain accepts Chaoswynd's cinnamon coffee.

Stormyrain takes a drink from her cinnamon coffee.

Stormyrain nods gratefully at Chaoswynd.

Thadston yells, "I answered your question."

Stormyrain yells, "I have ears!"

Stormyrain yells, "You answered one part."

Thadston yells, "Could have fooled me with what I've seen."

Stormyrain just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Stormyrain asks, "I'm sorry, did you wish to continue?"

Stormyrain smiles at Thadston.

Thadston says, "Welcome back."

Stormyrain says, "It seemed you were done."

Stormyrain says, "Please, continue."

Stormyrain takes a drink from her cinnamon coffee.

Thadston says, "When I'm interim marshal, we'll need to discuss your level of patience."

Thadston winks.

Stormyrain asks, "That was not a part of the question, unless that is what you will bring to the position should you be choosen?"

Thadston asks, "What can I bring?"

Thadston says, "I will bring motivation."

Thadston says, "I will bring strength."

Thadston says, "I will bring a level of accountability to the militia and the town that has been lacking."

Stormyrain clenches her jaw.

Thadston says, "More over, I will bring fear to those who try to cross us."

Stormyrain tucks some hazelnut cinnamon coffee into a small pocket inside of her ebon lambskin jacket.

Stormyrain dusts off her hands.

Thadston says, "Sometimes, the militia is mocked."

Thadston says, "It is."

Thadston says, "And it is a shame."

Thadston says, "They have larger hearts and drive than town guards."

Thadston says, "No offense."

Thadston nods at Khylon.

Khylon grunts in annoyance, rolling his eyes.

Thadston begins chuckling at Khylon!

Speaking evenly to Thadston, Stormyrain asks, "Are you finished?"

Thadston rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Thadston says, "Yes I suppose so."

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Stormyrain says, "Gentlemen, thank you."

Stormyrain turns around.

Stormyrain just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Renpaw says, "Get a room you two."

Renpaw chuckles.

A Statement From Shinann On Experience

Renpaw yells, "Shinann!"

Shinann just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Shinann bows.

Shinann says, "Good evening to you all."

Thadston nods at Shinann.

Shinann says, "Captain Stormyrain basically asked what I wanted to know."

Kilron rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Shinann says, "Since this is a temporary position, I do believe we need someone with experience."

Kilron nods.

Shinann says, "So, I really have no questions. I would be honored to serve Khylon or Thadston."

Kilron frowns.

Thadston nods at Shinann.

Speaking to Kilron, Shinann says, "However, you may join, if you wish."

Shinann nods at Kilron.

Shinann says, "We would be happy to have you."

Khylon bows to Shinann.

Shinann nods at Kilron.

Shinann says, "But, in this situation."

Renpaw asks, "So no question?"

Shinann says, "I think we need an experienced person."

Shinann says, "No..."

Shinann says, "That is all."

Shinann bows to Khylon.

Shinann bows to Thadston.

Shinann bows to Kilron.

Shinann bows to Renpaw.

Shinann just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Renpaw nods.

Question #3, Lylia to Kilron: Cultural Biases

Renpaw yells, "Mayor Lylia!"

Mayor Lylia just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Lylia murmurs, "Good evening to all of you."

Lylia inclines her head.

Khylon grunts in greeting.

Kilron smiles.

Lylia says, "My question...is to Kilron."

Thadston bows to Lylia.

Lylia smiles at Kilron.

Lylia says, "In your earlier response, you talked of how you are able to work with those from all walks of life. You spoke of the 'relations you have created and fostered,' and I respect that."

Lylia says, "Yet you employ clerks who scorn some of us, implying that the wares you sell are too good for the likes of us, Faendryl and Dhe'nar alike."

Lylia dryly remarks, "I hear it daily. It wears the points off my ears and tries my patience."

Kilron pulls on the collar of his cloak, turning his neck slightly.

Lylia asks, "How do you reconcile these clear biases with upholding the town's laws in a fair and uniform fashion? How would I trust that you would not fracture our town along cultural lines?"

Goldstr yells, "One Price One Landing!"

Lylia stares pointedly at Kilron waiting for an answer.

Cruxophim yells, "One Price, One Landing!!!"

Lylia tilts her head up.

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

Kilron says, "I am not looking to fuel some culture war."

Hlendril yells, "What Landing!"

Maylan yells, "One Price, One Landing!"

Ushakaron yells, "No price no Landing!"

Chamorr yells, "Charge Crux double!"

Hlendril yells, "The one where I don't exist!"

Evia yells, "Discounts for T'Kirem!"

Pukk yells, "One town, no imps!"

Lylia gestures dramatically with one gloved hand.

Lylia mildly says, "Let him speak, please."

Kilron says, "There exists a level of bias, we cannot deny it. It is not easily tossed aside either."

Kilron says, "One day, maybe our town will...view things in a friendlier, more equal way."

Kilron says, "I will not rob a man money for food to feed his children simply because he holds a bias towards dark elves."

Lylia counters, "But you could hire those who are more congenial to all the citizens. Including the mayor."

Kilron asks, "So do you serve Wehnimer's Landing, or only the population who agree with you?"

Kilron peers quizzically at Lylia.

Lylia chuckles.

Lylia says, "I did not realize I was answering debate questions, but I believe it is clear that I am the mayor of the entire town, not only of those who agree with me."

Lylia smiles at Kilron.

Lylia says, "Visit my office anytime. You shall hear disagreements."

Lylia grins at Kilron.

Kilron shrugs.

Kilron says, "I am as fair as I can be in who I hire."

Lylia says, "I do understand your need to hire those who are available."

Lylia nods respectfully at Kilron.

Lylia says, "Thank you."

Kilron says, "I don't like half of what they wear sometimes."

Kilron shrugs.

Speaking in Faendryl to herself, Lylia remarks something you don't understand.

Kilron says, "But I must run a business."

Lylia gives a sidelong glance at Thadston.

Speaking in Faendryl, Thadston says something you don't understand.

Lylia says, "I appreciate that, and of course I appreciate your service to the town for so many years."

Lylia folds her hands.

Lylia bows to Kilron.

Thadston nods at Lylia.

Lylia says, "Thank you all for your time and your willingness to serve."

Lylia turns around.

Mayor Lylia just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Question #4, Cruxophim to All: Weaknesses

Renpaw exclaims, "Cruxophim!"

Cruxophim just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Cruxophim raises his bone teacup in a toast!

Cruxophim respectfully greets, "Gentlemen, Your Honor."

Renpaw nods.

Khylon twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Cruxophim calmly inquires, "Just for the sake of curiosity... how would each of you describe your greatest weakness, as pertinent to this task?"

Cruxophim nonchalantly assures, "Asking for a friend."

Cruxophim flashes a quick grin.

Thadston clenches his fists, small arcs of blue-white lightning dancing along his blackened kroderine gauntlets.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Thadston.

Thadston says, "My weakness? My temper at times. I've gotten better. I have not ripped up a man's arm and beaten him with it in over one year."

Speaking approvingly to Thadston, Cruxophim notes, "Honest. I approve."

Cruxophim gazes in amusement at Thadston.

Khylon exclaims, "Nah weakness, is mah bum leg. Still a bit rusty. But better each day. When I'm mad, I don't feel the pain at all. So har!"

Speaking casually to Thadston, Cruxophim admits, "I'd call that a strength more than a weakness, in that particular case."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Kilron says, "My weakness is I lack the combat skills the other two do, but I do not think that will prevent me from doing the job well."

Speaking thoughtfully to Khylon, Cruxophim inquires, "And... psychologically?"

Khylon says, "I'm a dwarf. We're always right in da head."

Speaking sympathetically to Khylon, Cruxophim reminds, "You did go through quite the ordeal."

Khylon says, "Tough as 'ell."

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Khylon!

Khylon says, "So did ye."

Speaking affably to Khylon, Cruxophim notes, "Fair answer."

Khylon says, "And ye became a mayor."

Cruxophim nods approvingly at Khylon.

Cruxophim chuckles.

Khylon says, "So I think I'm aright."

Speaking affably to Khylon, Cruxophim agrees, "I think so, my friend."

Cruxophim boldly states, "This is the Landing, after all."

Cruxophim adopts an agreeable expression.

Khylon nods.

Cruxophim nods once at Kilron.

Cruxophim pleasantly states, "Thank you, gentlemen."

Cruxophim bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

Cruxophim just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Question #5, Lornieh to All: Changes in the Militia

Renpaw exclaims, "Lornieh!"

You hear very soft footsteps.

Lornieh says, "Good evening, candidates, Your Honor."

Renpaw bows.

Renpaw exclaims, "Evening!"

Lornieh says, "My question is similar to Stormyrain's, but she was more after what you could make better. I'm curious what changes you'd each intend to bring to the militia, good or bad."

Kilron says, "To touch on my previous comment."

Kilron says, "We need agents in the shadows."

Kilron says, "Ears to the street."

Lornieh tilts her head toward Kilron, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Kilron says, "We need a level of intelligence and information sharing that rivals the Rooks."

Kilron says, "We can practice all we want, sharpen our blades, shine our armor."

Kilron says, "But half of our battles aren't fought on a field with armies facing each other."

Lornieh looks thoughtfully at Kilron.

Kilron says, "So that'd be my first order of business."

Kilron says, "Creating our network."

Kilron nods.

Lornieh nods.

Khylon says, "Recruitment."

Fahlo adds his name to the signup list.

Lornieh nods at Khylon.

Khylon says, "The ranks have shrunk lately, many inactive members, we need more visibility, mer trainin', more reach out."

Khylon says, "I've run mah own merc group for ages. I've got experience ta help swell da ranks."

Khylon says, "Keep our people sharp and on point."

Khylon says, "I'll get 'er done."

Khylon nods.

Thadston says, "I think Kilron and Khylon's answers are good."

Thadston says, "I think we need both."

Thadston says, "But I think we also need a leader."

Thadston says, "One who a reformed, expanded militia and intelligence network can rally between."

Thadston says, "A leader is not someone who limps onto the battlefield. No offense, my friend."

Thadston nods at Khylon.

Thadston says, "A leader is also not someone who will suffer intolerance for the sake of profit."

Thadston says, "Offense intended, my friend."

Maylan adds her name to the signup list.

Thadston nods at Kilron.

Lornieh grins.

Lornieh nods.

Lornieh says, "Thank you candidates."

Lornieh curtsies.

Thadston says, "I think I can bring all of the points the others mentioned, but under a banner that demands loyalty, not out of some forced hand, but as a prime example."

Thadston nods.

Lornieh nods at Thadston.

Lornieh smiles.

Lornieh says, "Thank you."

You hear very soft footsteps.

Question #6, Leafiara to All: The Matter of the Rooks

Renpaw yells, "Leafiara again!"

You flash a quick grin.

J>go stair

[Moot Hall, Chamber of Justice] Two high-backed, elaborately carved chairs face the imposing, burnished oak bench where members of the official Town Council convene to decide matters of solemn importance. A narrow stairway leads up to a low balcony that surrounds the chamber, providing ample seating for interested visitors to observe the proceedings. You also see a goofy dune spirit that is flying around, a forest fox, a striped owl that is flying around, a whimsical aurora spirit that is flying around, a modwir arch and an oak door.

Also here: Lord Thadston, Captain Khylon, Kilron, Judge Renpaw

You nod in greeting.

You begin, "Good evening--again. This time my question is for everyone."

Leafiara smiles at the assembled candidates, nodding to each in turn.

Renpaw asks, "Even me?"

Renpaw chuckles.

Speaking thoughtfully to Renpaw, you say, "Well, if you want."

You chuckle.

You curiously ask, "The Rooks have been mentioned in passing tonight, but not discussed in any great detail. What are your thoughts on them? Or any plans related to them, if you were appointed?"

You glance expectantly around the room.

Thadston asks, "What are your thoughts on them?"

You acknowledge, "Good at intelligence, as has been mentioned tonight."

You add, "Less good at knowing which fights to pick and with who."

Speaking to Thadston, you say, "I know you've been very opposed to them in the past. That might or might not still be true, so I leave the question open."

Thadston says, "I for one, have no intention of openly discussing any plans in relation to the Brotherhood of Rooks who have more ears up on that balcony than Hlendril has offended victims."

You ponder the meaning of Thadston's existence.

You chuckle.

Thadston says, "I do not like the Rooks and they should and will be dealt with accordingly."

Khylon grunts in agreement.

You nod understandingly at Thadston.

Khylon says, "Hear hear on dat Thaddy daddy."

Khylon chuckles.

Khylon says, "I've no love los' for da Rooks."

Khylon says, "Dey held me hostage for a month, tortured me."

You nod sympathetically at Khylon.

You furrow up your face and wince.

Khylon says, "I know we can't just hunt 'em down and hack 'em down."

Khylon says, "But I ain't workin' with 'em."

You nod at Khylon.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Kilron.

Kilron rubs his chin thoughtfully.

You give Kilron a strong, encouraging smile.

Kilron says, "I do not think the Rooks will ever go away."

Kilron says, "Not any time soon, and should they, I think they may just take on another form."

You nod in agreement at Kilron.

Kilron says, "We can oppose them, yes with force and counter intelligence, but in also shrinking their ranks."

Kilron says, "Not always by force."

Kilron says, "But by alternatives."

Kilron nods.

Renpaw grins at you.

You flash a quick grin at Renpaw.

Speaking lightly to Renpaw, you ask, "-Did- you want to add thoughts on this?"

You chuckle.

Renpaw yells, "Chamorr!"

Renpaw starts chuckling at you!

Renpaw says, "Hang them all."

You wink.

You chortle.

Lord Chamorr just climbed down a narrow stairway.

You say, "On that note, thank you again."

You bob a quick curtsy.

Chamorr nods at Renpaw.

Khylon says, "Howdy Chamorr."

Khylon says, "I'm feel'n fine."

Khylon says, "Ready ta keep servin'."

Speaking heartily to Khylon, Chamorr says, "Good enough to lead this bunch."

Khylon nods.

Khylon says, "Aye."

Chamorr nods.

Chamorr heartily says, "Thanks."

Khylon grunts and nods.

Khylon says, "Dat's all ye got."

Khylon furrows his brow.

Speaking heartily to Kilron, Chamorr asks, "Are you even a member of the militia now?"

Kilron says, "No."

Speaking heartily to Kilron, Chamorr says, "Not willing to serve, but leadin yer good at, huh."

Kilron grins.

Chamorr heartily asks, "Just a grin?"

Chamorr turns to face Thadston.

Kilron says, "A valid point. One perhaps I should reconsider."

Thadston grins at Chamorr.

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Evenin Thaddy."

Thadston says, "Hello Bear."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "You was part of the empire."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr asks, "How bout them oaths and vows ya made to them, they still good?"

Thadston says, "No."

Chamorr heartily says, "Why."

Thadston says, "I gave up my title, land and spurs."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr asks, "Gonna give up yer vow here too?"

Thadston says, "No."

Thadston says, "I am not an enemy of the Empire."

Thadston says, "I chose to be free of their backward rules and restrictions."

Thadston says, "That suffocated my movements and strategies."

Thadston says, "And ultimately cost me my wife and son."

Thadston says, "I'd caution against further questioning along these lines."

Chamorr heartily says, "And if they send an army here to put us back in line, where ya gonna stand."

Thadston says, "In front of you, facing their army."

Chamorr heartily says, "Good spot."

Thadston asks, "What if the T'Kirem come here?"

Thadston asks, "Banded and united, a massive force, to take our land?"

Thadston says, "You wear their symbols still."

Thadston says, "Yet you call this place home."

Chamorr heartily says, "I'd invite them to dinner, and share some scotch, they is all family."

Thadston asks, "You still wear Leafiara's campaign button, but serve under a different Mayor?"

Thadston says, "Titles, badges...."

Thadston waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.

Thadston says, "We are both Wehnimer's Landing."

Thadston says, "I would say."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "I sure hope so, and be glad yer one of us hooligans too."

Thadston says, "We'd die covered in the blood of any enemy, imperial, or Raznel."

Thadston nods at Chamorr.

Thadston says, "Agreed."

Chamorr turns to face Renpaw.

Renpaw bows to Chamorr.

Renpaw yells, "3 more questions for the night!"

Renpaw bows to Chamorr.

Renpaw indicates a narrow stairway as a possible option.

Renpaw yells, "Hlendril!"

Speaking heartily to Renpaw, Chamorr says, "As I recall, Thrayzar was given the post of interim marshal til Khylon could return, is that true."

Renpaw says, "He was later appointed."

Renpaw nods at Chamorr.

Chamorr heartily says, "Good nuf."

Chamorr heartily says, "Thanks."

Lord Chamorr just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Question #8, Hlendril to All: Ragtag Militia

Hlendril just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Hlendril glances at Renpaw.

Hlendril stares at Thadston.

Hlendril sniffs.

Hlendril deeply says, "I am who I am... And I am proud of who I am..."

Hlendril says, "Greetings."

Hlendril renders a sharp hand salute.

Hlendril removes an ancient claidhmore with a blood red heart-shaped ruby set in the pommel from in his thrak hide back scabbard.

Renpaw nods.

Renpaw asks, "Do you have a question for the candidates, or a candidate?"

Hlendril says, "I am Hlendril, 12th Generation Mercenry of the Band of the Iron Lion."

Hlendril nods at Renpaw.

Hlendril says, "I do."

Hlendril coughs.

Renpaw nods.

Thadston seems to be waiting for something.

A forest fox growls menacingly!

Kilron nods to the forest fox in agreement.

Renpaw seems to be waiting for something.

Hlendril asks, "Why is it that even with all the attacks that have occured in this Fair Landing of ours-- A fair Landing where I don't exist according to her apparently--why is it that we still have not created a Standing Profesional army like that in Ta'Illistim but instead led by a bunch of Rag-tag, unevenly equipped non-professional Militia?"

Hlendril stamps his feet.

Hlendril yells, "Death to the bloody empire!"

Hlendril renders a sharp salute with his ancient claidhmore.

Hlendril devilishly asks, "What's the matter, Kobold's got yer tongue?"

Thadston says, "I think I speak for everyone when we're simply trying to process exactly what you're trying to accomplish."

Hlendril shrugs.

Thadston asks, "Are you intentionally discrediting the militia?"

Thadston asks, "Or speaking ill of the Mayor?"

Hlendril says, "No, but the Mayor speaks Ill of me."

Thadston says, "If you wish a world of elven traditions and armies, then by all means, go east."

Hlendril says, "It's expected, being a Mercenary and all."

Thadston says, "Roll with them."

Thadston asks, "Mercenary?"

Hlendril says, "What I meant is we need more protection and less dependence from the Empire."

Thadston says, "I've never met a mercenary more worried about someone's words about them than their profits."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril says, "Sir Thadston, in case your clouded mind has blocked yer foresight, not all people within the Empire are imperials."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril says, "Not worried, just amused... More or less."

Hlendril sighs.

Thadston says, "We have a town guard, and a town militia."

Hlendril proudly explains, "For a thousand years Daemfemdar`s children have resisted the sting of the Empire. For a thousand years, we fled your Knights by our Black flag."

Thadston says, "We are not the size and scope of Ta'Illistim to command an army like the Sapphire Guard, or Vaalorian Legion."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril says, "Not enough."

Thadston says, "Yet, here you are."

Thadston says, "Refusing to flee."

Thadston says, "A broken tradition. So tragic."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril asks, "What did you say?"

Hlendril walks toward Thadston.

Thadston moves to stand in front of Hlendril.

Thadston says, "I said..."

Thadston says, "YET. HERE YOU ARE."

Thadston says, "REFUSING TO FLEE."

Thadston says, "A BROKEN TRADITION. SO TRAGIC."

Hlendril asks, "Flee from what? The Landing? My second home?"

Thadston says, "Don't come down here, whining about feelings, like a love struck bard whose puppy died, after you list a litany of titles in some hope of commanding respect."

Hlendril says, "I came here as a refuge when I was chased out of Shakat, locating an ancient cure for a curse."

Thadston says, "Respect is earned, and when you lace your question with slights towards the town's mayor, and the militia..."

Thadston says, "You do only harm to yourself."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril asks, "Do you honestly think my treatment is just?"

Hlendril asks, "Oh wait, I gotta pay more for that, hmm?"

Thadston asks, "Pay?"

Hlendril yells, "Hey, I don't own multiple accounts of the Four winds so sorry!"

Thadston says, "This man clearly has Red Rot of the brain."

Speaking to Thadston, Hlendril says, "This Imperial clearly needs to know what 1000 years of Mercenary work does."

Town guards and empaths come and escort Hlendril away from the premise.

Hlendril just came through a modwir arch.

Hlendril just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Question #9, Fahlo to All: By Your Powers Combined?

Renpaw yells, "Fahlo!"

Fahlo says, "Ah."

Fahlo takes a plain red hat off his head.

Fahlo just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Renpaw yells, "I must warn you...Hlendril is a hard act to..."Fahlo"...."

Renpaw snickers to himself.

Fahlo winces.

Fahlo bows.

Speaking to Renpaw, Fahlo says, "Your honor.."

Fahlo says, "Sir Thadston, Captain Khylon, Master Kilron.. thank you for your time and thoughtful attention this evening."

Fahlo says, "Given as we cannot have a Marshal who leaves us for personal crusade, nor can we defend ourselves with information alone, and we as ought not lose a competent Captain to gain an interim Marshal."

Fahlo asks, "Would the three of you be willing to combine your strengths to function as the interim Marshal together?"

Khylon asks, "I....is that even possible?"

Renpaw says, "It's not unfortunately."

Fahlo nods.

Renpaw says, "We have but one council position open."

Renpaw says, "It does not bar that position for taking on advisors, of course."

Renpaw says, "But there must be just one position."

Renpaw says, "We cannot have councils within councils."

Renpaw says, "We're not the Elven Empire."

Renpaw chuckles.

Speaking to Renpaw, Fahlo says, "Thank you."

Fahlo just went through a modwir arch.

Question #10, Maylan to All: Thrayzar Rescue Operation

Renpaw yells, "Last one..."

Renpaw yells, "Maylan!"

Renpaw yells, "Argggh!"

Merrymaker Maylan just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Speaking to Renpaw, Maylan corrects, "Yarrrrrrrr."

Maylan thumps her mop-fringed pegleg on the floor in three rapid successions.

Maylan starts chortling.

Maylan says, "This question is for each of you."

Maylan clears her throat.

Maylan says, "I would like to hear your plans for finding, and if necessary, rescuing Thrayzar. I'm rather worried about the fella. And I miss seeing him make his rather impressive entrances."

Maylan breathes in deeply as she clenches a pipe in her mouth, then exhales slowly, causing some dark amorphous clouds of puffy smoke to float up from her mouth.

Khylon says, "I've already begun it."

Speaking to Khylon, Maylan asks, "How's it going?"

Khylon says, "I've contacts, lots o' old merc contacts out thar in the Empire and beyond."

Khylon says, "No word yet. But I'm hopeful."

Khylon says, "Someone has to be talkin'."

Khylon nods.

Maylan shrugs her shoulders, lifting her wings slightly.

Khylon says, "I won't stop tryin', rath'r I am marshal or not."

Speaking to Khylon, Maylan says, "Let me know if I can assist you in any way."

Kilron says, "I think the dwarf has the right of it."

Kilron says, "This is why information is important."

Kilron says, "Not just for within our walls."

Kilron says, "I'd make it a priority to find him. I think part of that begins with information collecting."

Maylan says, "It's hard to even know where to begin."

Maylan bites her lip.

Thadston nods.

Thadston says, "I think we need to revisit what we know of his disappearance."

Thadston says, "And review who or what might be involved."

Thadston says, "I would not be opposed to search parties."

Thadston says, "I would not even be opposed to leaning on someone like Puptilian for such an effort."

Thadston says, "I'm sure he'd be shocked to hear me mention him."

Maylan says, "That is a rather good idea, Thaddy Daddy."

Speaking to Thadston, Maylan says, "Apparently that's your name now."

Thadston glances at Maylan.

Thadston says, "No, it's not."

Speaking to herself, Maylan says, "Yes it is."

Thadston says, "No, it's not."

Speaking to herself, Maylan whispers aloud, "Yes it is."

Maylan starts chortling.

Thadston says, "Plus, we have the added bonus of Puptilian not near me. Hah. We did not work well at times."

Thadston snickers.

Maylan grins.

Maylan amusedly says, "I remember."

Thadston says, "But we have many in this town with connections in the Empire as well."

Thadston says, "No one alone will bring Thrayzar home."

Maylan nods at Thadston.

The Judge Wraps Up

Renpaw exclaims, "Well ,that concludes the questions!"

Judge Renpaw just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Maylan stretches, flexing her wings.

Merrymaker Maylan just climbed up a narrow stairway.

Khylon bows.

Captain Khylon just limped through a modwir arch.

Kilron bows.

Kilron just went through a modwir arch.

Thadston twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Thadston nods.

Lord Thadston just went through a modwir arch.

Cruxophim winks at Renpaw and flashes a sly grin.

Renpaw begins chuckling at Cruxophim!

Renpaw nods at Cruxophim.

Renpaw says, "Well, thank you all for coming."

Renpaw says, "Here is where we stand."

Renpaw says, "Mayor Lylia, I will afford you a week to consider your options."

Renpaw says, "And present to me your choice."

Lylia nods at Renpaw.

Renpaw says, "I will then validate, and announce."

Speaking to Renpaw, Lylia says, "I shall mark the date on my calendar."

Renpaw says, "If your decision comes sooner than a week, that is your option as well."

Lylia says, "I may --"

Lylia nods at Renpaw.

Pukk snaps his fingers.

Lylia says, "I was just going to say that."

Lylia chuckles.

Speaking curiously to Lylia, Maylan asks, "Mind already made up?"

Lylia says, "I do not think it should take a week to know what I need to know about these men."

Renpaw exclaims, "Goodnight everyone!"

Lylia shakes her head.

Judge Renpaw just climbed down a narrow stairway.

Lylia says, "No. If my mind were made up, I would choose tonight."
