Lava glob is a creature ability used to hurl molten lava at their target. Characters must make a visible d100 roll to avoid the lava. If struck, they take immediate impact critical damage, followed by fire damage over time as their armor heats up. It takes some time afterwards for the armor to cool.
Casting Minor Water (903) at the armor (or at the person wearing it, if cast from defensive/guarded stance) can help cool it down.
Creatures capable of performing this ability include:
A huge lava elemental hurls a glob of lava at you! You make a pathetic effort to avoid the lava! [d100:1] The lava hits you squarely in your head! ... 25 points of damage! Strong shot to your head messes up the brain fatally. (spells fall) It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you... You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.
Example of cooling down armor with water:
A huge lava elemental hurls a glob of lava at you! You make a good effort to avoid the lava! [d100:75] The lava hits you squarely in your left leg! Your armor softens the blow and absorbs some of the heat. ... 15 points of damage! Nasty blow to your left leg! You are stunned for 1 round! A suit of armor partially deflects the onslaught of the fiery attack. ... 5 points of damage! Minor burns to left leg. That hurts a bit. Your armor cools some, but is still hot enough to do damage! A suit of armor partially deflects the onslaught of the fiery attack. ... 5 points of damage! Minor burns to chest. That hurts a bit. You wave your aquamarine wand at a suit of armor. You hurl a stream of water at a suit of armor! Cool water causes steam to billow from a suit of armor. The water scours the armor clean.
A huge lava elemental hurls a glob of lava at you! You make a poor effort to avoid the lava! [d100:37] The glob of lava is deflected at the last moment. The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves you.
