[Library, Meeting Hall] A trio of wide stairs lead down from a wide archway into this brightly lit room. A small podium stands atop a small dais opposite the archway, and several cushioned benches have been arranged throughout the space, each offering an excellent line of sight. A number of elliptical windows line the walls of the hall, and a rich crimson-patterned carpet covers the entirety of the floor underfoot. You also see a small table with some stuff on it. Obvious exits: none You reach out and touch a small podium. You take a few steps toward a small podium. A pair of glowing white eyes briefly flash amongst the shadows. You nod once. You ask, "Did you see me talking to myself, Magister?" The voice of Raelee says, "... I only just arrived." Raelee suddenly fades into view. You say, "Good. I wouldn't want you to think I'm nervous." You fold your hands behind your back, waiting patiently. Speaking to you, Raelee says, "You effectively just informed me of such." You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. Speaking quietly to Raelee, you say, "Nothing gets past you, my friend. Especially rather blatant self-owns like that." Speaking earnestly to Raelee, you say, "Thank you for coming." Speaking evenly to you, Raelee says, "But of course." Speaking to Raelee, you say, "I can't imagine that much of my lecture has great meaning for you, but I am glad you are here." Speaking to Raelee, you ask, "Somehow, I think you probably could make some educated guesses, considering our previous conversations. But we'll see, won't we?" Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Indeed we shall." Raelee glances around the room. You smile. Speaking to Raelee, you say, "Perhaps you'll be the only attendee, and we can speak at leisure about passion's utility." Speaking to you, Raelee says, "I will not be." He appears to be a Half-Elf. He is very tall and has a broad-shouldered slender frame. He appears to be in the spring of life. He has copper-ringed seaglass green eyes and sun-bronzed, coppery skin. He has long, voluminous raven black hair cascading into a lush tumult of violet-sheened curls. He has a graceful, oval-shaped face, an aquiline nose and a set of high cheekbones that are softened by the gentle contours of his jawline. He has a balefire-hued shrouded bog tattoo on his thigh. Miniature wisps of green spiral outward from him before fading away. He is in good shape. He is wearing a wisp-shaped aventurine Ivas symbol suspended from a rose gold chain, an interlocking chain of bronze thorns strung upon ribbed smoke-grey silk ribbons, a jade green lushly embroidered cassock composed of copper-threaded spidersilk, a beaded green silk sash fastened with a wisp of emerald smoke, and some burnt umber sea silk sandals laced with thin copper chain. Effecting a coquettish expression, you draw a strand of hair over your shoulder and twirl it lazily around your finger. Rohese gently reminds, "I ask that everyone be considerate to our speaker, as well as those who comment or ask questions." Rohese softly continues, "All opinions are welcome and indeed encouraged, as long as they are courteously expressed." You smile. Rohese nods slowly. You warmly say, "Good afternoon, thank you all for coming today; most of you know me, I am Brother Blud, Priest of Ivas, She who is Passion. I have served in Her Sanctum in Vipershroud Swamp for over two decades, and as an acolyte in Nydds for a long time before." You thoughtfully say, "I would like to spend a few moments explaining the most basic precepts of the Arkati I have devoted my life and faith to. Ivas is the Great Spirit of seduction, of divine passion and grace, and so very much more." (Kothos slides his long fingers over the top ridge of the podium, stroking it absently as he wanders to the far edge of the dais, until the afternoon sunlight streams down from the row of windows upon his upturned face. The golden light takes up the vibrant green of his eyes, and he smiles again, turning back toward you all.) You take a few steps toward an elliptical window. You use both hands to pull the hood on your cassock up over your head and then smooth out the gathered fabric at the neckline. Chancellor Yukito just arrived. You continue, "Worship of Ivas is hardly monolithic, it's been my experience that most of Her adherents are not part of an organized following at all, much less a cult or religious sect. And even with those who are, such as my own brethren, our practices and emphases are diverse." Uniana settles her gaze on you, watching you intently. Yukito tilts his head toward you, examining you intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly. You wink at Yukito. You offer, "Some reject structure and worship altogether, and assert that their relationship with Ivas is personal, another might use Her gifts to tantalize themselves or those around them without engaging physically, just to revel in the sensation of passion. My order in Vipershroud maintains a trinity of aspects, in our Service, which I will explain later, the aesthetic of decay and corruption, and the care and custody of those known as the Children of Ivas. All three aspects are harnessed by the power of lust." You admit, "One of the first assertions I heard about Ivas, as a boy, was a warning. I would imagine most of you have heard the same." Vaikhen bites his lip. Rohese inclines her head. You give your eyebrow a little workout. You glance at Alosaka. Tabubu laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. You smile at Vaikhen. Arenglae gives a sidelong glance at Alosaka. Yukito nods to you. Alosaka leans back. (Kothos pauses for a moment, leaning back against the lectern and gazes across all of you, holding your eyes for a moment's consideration. He nods again, the ghost of a smile upon his generous lips. He brushes his fingertips across the holy symbol about his throat and begins again.) Several strands of your raven black hair slip into your face, causing your vision to be slightly obscured. Using both hands, you push the hood of your cassock off your head. You turn to face an elliptical window. You affirm, "Indeed, there are believers who have devoted their practice to manipulation and deception. Or more commonly, they have used Her as an excuse for their own lack of control or need for control, they commit acts of violation and dishonor for the sake of their own petty and self-serving ways." You nod once. Akenna cocks her head. Missoni frowns. You candidly say, "My Mistress is hardly the only Arkati who has been coopted by ambition, or fanaticism, or both. Her aspect as the Goddess of seduction and illusion makes fertile ground for it. However, I posit there's an even simpler reason why this happens to Ivas and Her followers with such vehemence." Alosaka raises an eyebrow. (Kothos turns back toward the beams of lambent gold warming the library once more and draws a few coal-black curls back over his shoulders. His demeanor relaxes even more, though his easy smile gives way to a pensive expression, gazing into the sunlight.) You run a hand through your long raven black hair, trying to make yourself presentable. Rohese settles her gaze on you, watching you intently. You quietly say, "Many of Her adherents are of mixed hertage, such as myself. The majority of those who take their vows in the structured orders, with obvious exceptions..." He once again indicates himself, tapping his curled fingers idly on his collarbone as he speaks. "Are women. At least, here in the west. I am not educated enough in the east's practices to comment." You speculate, "Ivas's mythology features a common element, a female figure who lacks much detail save that they seduce men through illicit and malevolent ways, binding them so potently that they violate their marriage vows, sometimes even murder their wives for the sake of this mysterious mistress. Ivasians are the cause of misery and malcontent in their stories. And they are often those of lower social status; women, prostitutes, bastards, those attracted to their own sex and so on." You fold your hands behind your back, waiting patiently. Lazaryth settles his gaze on you, watching you intently. You ask, "I'd like to pause here with a simple observation that many stories often use archetypes to reinforce the moral codes of society, and is hardly unique to Ivas. The villains of these stories are on the outskirts of those societies because of their depravity. But I wonder, why do we consider lust a sin?" Yukito gazes at you. (Kothos looks about at you all, casually flicking his wrist across a tiny catch in the central thorn of his pectoral chain, coating the coppery skin in scented oil.) Mirkk nods in agreement to you. Mirkk clears his throat. Alosaka nods to you. You say, "Now is the time for questions, as I promised. Or other commentary." You smile. Rohese glances away. You ask, "Anyone?" Vaikhen raises his hand. You smile at Vaikhen. Alosaka rubs his chin thoughtfully. You say, "Please, my friend." Vaikhen quietly guesses, "Because it is, in a way - the opposite of discipline? Which is considered virtue?" Rohese turns an inquisitive ear toward Vaikhen. You nod slowly at Vaikhen. Alosaka nods at Vaikhen. Mirkk turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Alosaka turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Missoni ponders. You ask, "Yes. Lust is often considered uncontrolled. It lacks the dilligence of marriage, of love, yes?" Vaikhen nods in agreement. You assert, "Lust is offensive, lust is a failing, lust is counterfeit, lust is dangerous. But the charges against lust have their roots in other social ills. In all my time with my Mistress, I have never sired a child with one of my visitors. Unwanted pregnancy is more a result of lack of access to alternatives, due to poverty or coercion. Is lust off the hook? No, but it's at least worth looking at how childbearing has been used as a social control." Vaikhen ponders. Arenglae studies you closely, pondering some aspect of your self with great consideration. You continue, "Lust is impermanent, its fleeting nature marks it as immature, wasteful of our energy and time. But there are few relationships that are eternal, my friends. Nor does its temporary nature make it antithetical to love, as the intensity of passion often is the building block of a more profound bond. Why is impermanence equated with cheap? Ask yourselves if the fact that a relationship in your past is over, it has ceased to have meaning to you, or to your outlook for the future. When those we shared passion with are gone, do we forget about them?" Mirkk glances at Rohese. Alosaka raises his hand. Arenglae gives a sidelong glance at Alosaka. Yukito looks thoughtfully at you. Starletdawn adopts an agreeable expression. Speaking to Vaikhen, you ask, "Why is marriage and more lasting bonds considered disciplined, do those who put in the work and the emotion not deserve to have passion in their union as well?" Teveriel leans to his left slightly. You turn to face Alosaka. Vaikhen rubs his chin thoughtfully. Speaking to Alosaka, you ask, "Yes, my fellow squire?" Speaking to you, Alosaka asks, "Lust springs from the body, while love springs from the soul. Does this not make love superior to lust?" Ordim ponders. Rohese agrees with Mirkk. Raelee glances skeptically at Alosaka. Moshari chuckles to herself. Arenglae bites her lip. Missoni looks thoughtfully at Alosaka. Phanna gazes in amusement at Alosaka. Speaking to Alosaka, you say, "Ah, yes, the lust not love or love is conflated and rusted by lust." You conclude, "No. Of course not. They may be gone, but they counted. They mattered. And the lust and love you may have felt for them will remain with you, even if they are no longer a part of your life, it will act as your teacher and comfort for the rest of your life." Akenna places one hand on her wyrwood-hearted locket, curling her fingers protectively around it. After a moment, her hand drops, a look of disappointment on her face. Mirkk nods at Rohese. Meliyara idly notes, "Virtues and sins are subjective, and often imposed by those in 'control' of society to get their own way. In this, do they not themselves use so-called virtues in the same manner as they accuse those of sinning?" With an empathetic nod, Rohese discreetly takes Akenna's hand in hers and gives it a momentary squeeze. Yukito cocks his head. Yukito grunts. Alosaka grins at Meliyara. Meril says, "They are not." Meril looks over at Meliyara and shakes her head. Speaking to Alosaka, you ask, "What relationship does not change over time? Adn do they not need a sense of passion and curiosity to invigorate them? And once again, what is wrong with learning what you can and will from those you share it with, even if they are no longer part of your life?" Meliyara shrugs noncommittally. Tabubu nods approvingly at Meliyara. Mirkk raises an eyebrow in your direction. Yukito flushes slightly, some color reaching his cheeks. Speaking to you, Alosaka agrees, "Love and lust certainly can coexist, and in a fruitful relationship they do." Talinvor rubs his chin thoughtfully. You ask, "Being temporary doesn't make it any less relevant, no?" Teveriel nods approvingly at Alosaka. Yukito takes a drink from his black coffee. Speaking to Alosaka, Yardie says, "Ones based on trust." Yukito frowns. Phanna idly remarks, "I would also suggest that passion is not limited to physical passion alone." You smile at Phanna. Raelee surreptitiously glances at Phanna. Meliyara nods in agreement at Phanna. Alosaka nods in agreement to you. Speaking to Phanna, you say, "Not at all, though I have often found that pleasure for the sake of the physical is often dismissed as inherently vulgar." Phanna nods graciously to you. Speaking to Phanna, you say, "Though I certainly value the more mental sort of passion- such as our Magister's profound curiosity, here." Phanna gives Raelee a strong, encouraging smile. Rohese smiles at Raelee. Speaking to Mirkk, you ask, "Feeling brave, are you?" Rohese bites her lip. Mirkk glances nervously around the room. You say, "If not, I can pick on someone else." Rohese nods encouragingly at Mirkk. Uniana raises her hand. Mirkk nods to you. You smile at Uniana. Mirkk strides over to stand before you. Raelee looks thoughtfully at you. Mirkk glances over his shoulder at Rohese. Rohese gazes admiringly at Mirkk. Missoni glances between Mirkk and yourself. Speaking to Uniana, you say, "Please. Then I'll pick on Mirkk." Rohese wiggles her nose. Raelee nods faintly to you. Rohese laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. You stride over to stand before Mirkk. Teveriel smiles down at Uniana. Mirkk blinks. You glance at Mirkk before lowering your posture. Uniana asks, "The Arkati are no different than us, they have their flaws. Understandably, your presentation offers the benefits of patronage to Ivas as well as some overlooked issues based on society, background and even gender. But do you acknowledge her lesser kind spheres of influence or does your order reject those all together?" Speaking to Uniana, you say, "No. There are aspects of Ivas that are truthful, even when we'd want to ignore them." Uniana turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Mirkk forces a grin and laughs nervously. Rohese glances between Mirkk and yourself. Charna carefully says, "Rot kin be as cleansin' as fire, yet ye don't blame or shame fire when it offers ye warmth." Speaking softly to you, Rohese pleads, "Please be gentle with him." Speaking quietly to Uniana, you say, "As you say, this isn't Her charge alone, it's difficult to offer nuance to Marlu, of course." Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Charna. Teveriel gives a sidelong glance at Charna. Alosaka raises an eyebrow. Yukito looks thoughtfully at Charna. Charna says, "Jist sayin'." Lazaryth touches one finger to his lips. Missoni agrees with Charna. Alosaka says, "I would rather cleanse my food with fire than corruption." Mirkk clears his throat. You say, "But perhaps jealousy, for example, could be viewed as a more positive aspect than it would appear on the surface." Phanna glances appraisingly at you. Kayse folds her wings across her back. Speaking to herself, Akenna says, "Unless you turn them to ash...then they are quiet." Vaikhen's face turns slightly pale. Rohese smiles quietly to herself. Akenna adopts an agreeable expression. Speaking to Mirkk, you say, "May I touch your arms, please? And yes, I will be gentle. Mostly." Yukito nods slightly at Charna. Rohese settles her gaze on you, watching you intently. Mirkk glances dubiously at Rohese. Speaking playfully to Akenna, Yardie says, "You have problems." Rohese nods reassuringly at Mirkk. Mirkk nods to you. Akenna winks at Yardie. Speaking quietly to you, Mirkk stammers, "You may." Rohese giggles to herself. Rohese lowers her gaze. You say, "Jealousy can remind you of the passion that bound you to your lover. It can cause the desire to rise to the surface, and the truth that comes with it. Of what you need, what they want- discussions and exchanges that perhaps should have surfaced long ago." Speaking to Alosaka, Delindra murmurs, "The corruption of food provides fertilization for new food to grow, though. It is all part of a cycle." Yukito glances between Mirkk and yourself. Rohese inclines her head. Rohese looks thoughtfully at you. (Kothos reaches down and gathers Mirkk's hand to his chest, and spreads his fingers down the ranger's wrist and palm, an explorative touch over the skin and muscle.) Mirkk squirms and fidgets oddly for a moment. Rohese bites her lip. Speaking quietly to Delindra, Alosaka murmurs, "What is good for worms is not necessarily good for people." Cannel raises an eyebrow. Mirkk glances around the room. Kayse surreptitiously glances between Mirkk and yourself. Ordim fidgets. Raelee cocks her head. Lazaryth smiles quietly to himself. Perigourd chuckles to himself. Teveriel nods almost imperceptibly at Uniana. Speaking to Alosaka, Charna says, "An' yet, I'm sure ye eat mushrooms." Rohese squirms and fidgets oddly for a moment. Yukito raises an eyebrow in Mirkk's direction. Missoni leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face. Yukito blinks at Rohese. Yukito tilts his head down. Phanna gives a sidelong glance at Rohese. Speaking to Charna, Alosaka clarifies, "Sauteed." Speaking to Mirkk, you say, "You hold your weapon here, yes?" He pushes in with a little contained strength, isolating a stretch of skin on the palm, close to the joint." Speaking to Alosaka, Yardie says, "Me too." Charna asks, "Wence did they grow?" Mirkk glances down. Speaking quietly to Alosaka, Delindra murmurs, "I would beg to differ. Where would we be, if we did not have worms?" Mirkk nods slowly to you. Rohese tilts her head slightly, turning her attention to you. She regards you in a measured fashion, collecting her thoughts. Tabubu takes a moment to observe you. Vaikhen glances between Mirkk and yourself. Mirkk looks at Rohese with a shy glance, his eyes pleading silently. Rohese bites her lip. Alosaka quietly says, "I'll leave the compost pile to worms and mushrooms. They are better suited to consume it than I." Speaking reassuringly to Mirkk, Rohese mouths, "It's fine." Speaking to Mirkk, you ask, "There...." He drags his fingertips in a slow circle across the taut muscle, stroking outward in a circle, edging stress out to the surface. "I see they're continuing to debate decay and rot, but how does that feel?" Delindra softly says, "And yet, without that compost pile, you would not have new food to eat, eventually." Rohese furrows her brow. Mirkk clears his throat. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "This is one of the first lessons I learned, after taking my vows." Speaking speechlessly to you, Mirkk mumbles, "I." Speaking uncertainly to herself, Rohese repeats, "It's fine." Jisandra tilts her head toward you, examining you intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly. Jisandra leans forward. Rohese glances away. Ordim blushes sheepishly to himself. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "It isn't as tawdry as you'd think, for a pleasure of the flesh. But it's healing and brings relief." You rub Mirkk. Rohese nods thoughtfully to you. Talinvor glances at Rohese. Mirkk bites his lip. Mirkk glances nervously around the room. Akenna cocks her head at Mirkk. Xanlin raises his eyebrow, the curved obsidian spikes set within only enhancing his skeptical expression. Jisandra nods slowly to you. (Kothos pushes in again with his long fingers, stroking back over the wrist and up to the long, slender muscles of the forearm, rubbing the delicate joints and ligaments with quiet strength.) You glance at Mirkk. Alosaka surreptitiously glances at Rohese. Speaking silkily to Rohese, Talinvor says, "Nothing wrong with pleasure for fun. Bask in hedonism, and don't let society stifle you with guilt." Vaikhen flushes slightly, some color reaching his cheeks. Rohese lowers her gaze Rohese sighs. Rohese closes her eyes for a moment. You smile at Mirkk. Speaking to Talinvor, Yardie says, "That's what people say to excuse their guilt." Arenglae bites her lip. Raelee levels her gaze at you, staring intently without blinking her eyes. Speaking to Yardie, Talinvor asks, "What guilt?" Charna raises an eyebrow. Alosaka grins at Yardie. Speaking to Vaikhen, you say, "Sorry you didn't volunteer? I can see where your forearm is clenched." Speaking knowingly to Talinvor, Yardie says, "Exactly." Vaikhen blushes a light pink hue to the tops of his ears. Talinvor nods once at Yardie. Speaking quietly to you, Vaikhen says, "O-oh no, that's fine. You go ahead. It's going very well. Over there." (Kothos pats Mirkk gratefully on the shoulder and releases him, turning back toward the audience.) (Rohese takes a tentative step towards Mirkk to reassure him but thinks better of it and resumes her position with relief.) Starletdawn grins at Vaikhen. Rohese lets out a sigh of relief. Mirkk trudges up to Rohese. Rohese bites her lip. Moshari frowns. Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the hand. Arenglae leans on Alosaka. Mirkk glances askance at Rohese. Rohese rests a gentle hand on Mirkk's arm. Alosaka smiles at Arenglae. Speaking to Uniana, you say, "In any case, I believe that lust is often on the hook for what is rooted in violence, and while I don't wish to..." You ponder. Rohese smiles at Akenna. Missoni takes a drink from her ice cold lemonade. Alosaka raises an eyebrow in your direction. You say, "Lose sight of the lessons that come from decay, ephemeral pleasure, or jealousy..." Speaking curiously to Yardie, Talinvor asks, "Should Brother Blud feel guilty, then?" Rohese surreptitiously glances at Talinvor. Rohese's eyes narrow, and her expression darkens as she swiftly averts her gaze downward. Akenna smiles at Rohese. Tabubu turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Uniana briefly conceals her face behind her ecru satin fan, coyly looking past the triad of blades set within it. You say, "I don't want to redeem or forgive lust, either. I want it to be emancipated from the stifling idea that it is inherently sinful." Mirkk blushes and babbles a few incoherent words, looking sincerely flustered. Vaikhen nods understandingly. Mirkk blinks. Akenna says, "Perhaps it is that what is appropriate for some isn't always a comfort to others." You smile at Mirkk. Talinvor nods in agreement to you. Akenna shrugs slightly. Starletdawn gazes fondly at you. Speaking to Mirkk, you ask, "Are you ashamed?" You glance at Rohese. Rohese cocks her head at Mirkk. Lazaryth smiles at Akenna. Mirkk clears his throat. Speaking to Rohese, you ask, "And are you?" Talinvor grins at you. Uniana glances expectantly at Rohese. You smile. Speaking nervously to you, Mirkk stammers, "I, uh..." Speaking to Talinvor, Yardie says, "I've dabbled in some learnings with Ivas. So I understand the various aspects of it. I've always respected Brother Blud for his honesty. I suppose, in that honesty, he need not feel guilt at all, as he makes no excuses." Mirkk glances around the room. Xanlin's shoulders shake subtly as he turns away from Mirkk, while struggling to compose his features, revealing a glimmer of mirth before returning to a poker face. Speaking tentatively to you, Rohese admits, "Not ashamed but perhaps, a little uncomfortable." Rohese wrinkles her nose. You nod at Rohese. Speaking to Yardie, Talinvor asks, "Exactly. Why are you arguing then?" Speaking to Rohese, you say, "Because you know my intent was not to cause you harm." You smile at Rohese. Rohese nods understandingly to you. Speaking to Talinvor, Yardie says, "I'm not. You asked a question. I answered. I detect a sense of guilt in you with my query." Speaking kindly to you, Rohese agrees, "Yes, I knew he was safe in your hands yet ... not safe." Rohese giggles softly at you. Moshari shakes her head. Mirkk covers his mouth and chortles away behind his hand. Mirkk blinks. You say, "I don't think many of you would want to see another act of pleasure acted out upon the dais here. It seemed a good choice." Rohese wrinkles her nose. You grin at Mirkk. Yukito tilts his head toward you, examining you intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly. Speaking to Mirkk, you say, "Thank you, by the way." Vaikhen gulps. Meliyara gazes in amusement at you. Mirkk nods once to you. Arenglae adds Alosaka to her group. Alosaka mumbles something under his breath. Speaking to Yardie, Talinvor admits, "I actually agree with Brother Blud's assessment of how society tends to judge such things, when they are inherently not in themselves any sort of wrongdoing." Phanna gazes in amusement at you. You ask, "Now, did you want to continue questions, or should I speak about the Temple itself?" Rohese lets out a sigh of relief. You say, "I'm open, as you all know already." You grin. Rohese leans softly against Mirkk. Phanna says, "I would like to hear more about the temple." Phanna nods. You nod at Phanna. Speaking to Yardie, Talinvor adds, "Yet guilt, and shame are society's admonishment of such things." Vaikhen nods in agreement at Phanna. Vaikhen leans forward. Mirkk glances skeptically at Rohese. You say, "Of course. Most of you know my friend and fellow Lornonite, Ysharra Nagorn." Rohese blushes a rosy pink shade at Mirkk. Rohese demurely lowers her misty grey eyes. Mirkk glances at Rohese. Speaking to Talinvor, Yardie says, "I'll continue this later." You say, "She took it upon herself to plant a number of choice selections along the gardens and courtyards of my home." Speaking quietly to Yardie, Talinvor says, "I rather you didn't." Yardie glances at Akenna. Rohese turns an inquisitive ear toward you. You say, "Those of you literate in the old folklore will recognize why we have honeysuckle, and irises, lining the steps." Kayse nods to you. Alosaka cocks his head at you. Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the cheek. You say, "Where you, as a visitor, would find one of my rank waiting to greet you, congratulating you on your arduous trek through Her guardians in the swamp." You say, "The priests welcome the pilgrims when they arrive, and take them within, to the courtyard, where we use our supposed wisdom to take their measure and what they have come to find." You say, "We match them either to ourselves, or to one of the acolytes we think would best welcome them." Phanna nods understandingly to you. You say, "And before you make assumptions, no, it's not always to engage in physical desire. Sometimes..." Rohese cocks her head at you. You say, "Wehnimer's Landing is the closest settlement, and many of the inhabitants are human, but there's a stronger diversity there than most other places." You say, "Xanthium, for example, has a clerk from Moot Hall who comes every Volnes to play chess and have breakfast with her, because he's outlived his wife, his children and his grandchildren." You say, "He misses companionship." Akenna frowns. Vaikhen gives a short little hum of surprise. A look of introspection flits across Uniana's face. Mirkk gazes into Rohese's eyes. Phanna smiles. Jisandra nods slowly. Yukito nods slowly to you. A pained expression crosses Missoni's face. Furrowing his brow in thought, Guarrin strokes absently at his greased neatly trimmed, full beard. You say, "And that gives him what he wants." Rohese smiles at Mirkk. Perigourd leans softly against Missoni. Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the nose. Starletdawn smiles at you. Vaikhen smiles. You say, "Within the temple halls are the sacristies, where Her blessings take place." You say, "They are incised with flowers upon their entryways, and those acolytes within are matched to their meaning." You say, "Xanthium serves in the mournbloom sacristy, where those who are grieved find release." You say, "And we occasionally host mayoral debates." Rohese rests a gentle hand on Mirkk's arm. Lazaryth says, "They do say politics makes strange bedfellows." Mirkk gazes into Rohese's eyes. Rohese smiles at Mirkk. Meliyara laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement from Lazaryth. Vaikhen flashes a wide grin at Lazaryth. Tabubu's eyes crinkle slightly at the edges. You say, "Some of the larger Temples in the East, I understand, serve as salons, where debates and galleries are open all the time, to Her patrons." You snicker at Lazaryth. You say, "We also care for the Children of Ivas, in the hospice ward." You say, "The Children are those who have been struck with a curse, or disease, and delirium, that there is no cure for." Missoni nods slowly. (Mirkk intertwines his fingers with Rohese's, holding her hand tightly.) Perigourd looks thoughtfully at you. Yukito scowls. You say, "Many of them would make you uncomfortable. They are often lost to their illusions, their mania." Mirkk whispers something to Rohese. Vaikhen frowns. Speaking to you, Yardie says, "That's rather sad." You say, "They are profoundly ill, and often from backgrounds too poor to have access to healers until it's too late." Teveriel nods gravely. Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "I'd be interested in hearing your take on the murals in the temple in Vipershroud, if you can." Yukito frowns at you. You say, "And when their families can no longer care for them, they bring them to us, or we find them, abandoned to the wilds." You nod at Xanlin. You say, "Of course." You say, "We cannot cure them, but we do all we can to keep them comfortable and safe." Speaking to Mirkk, you ask, "The Children are often who I see in the tapestries, but what questions would you have?" Xanlin appears to be trying hard not to grin. Mirkk raises an eyebrow in your direction. You say, "For those of you who have never been, the murals along the Temple walls depict the priests and priestesses hosting those with grievous disease, treating them tenderly." You cough. You say, "Sorry, I meant that for Xanlin. I'm still a little winded." You wink at Mirkk. Rohese nods understandingly to you. Meril quietly says, "No one is ever too poor to avail themselves of a healer. Still, there are many afflictions where a cure is still being sought." Speaking to Meril, you say, "It's true. And it's also true that many of the Children came by their afflictions through illicit sources." Yardie frowns at you. (Alosaka huffs.) You say, "Depravity, decay, corruption. All those things we mentioned before." Mirkk blushes a red shade at Rohese. Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "It's been a while since I visited, but the impression I was left with was disturbing and didn't seem to be a simple as treating them tenderly." You say, "So yes. Of course we care for them." Guarrin gives a sidelong glance at Alosaka. Lazaryth grins at Xanlin. Lazaryth examines his fingernails. Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "We welcome them where they are not elsewhere." You say, "You mean to suggest that we are the cause of their afflictions, I assume. I have heard that perspective before, but to those charges, I often state- Ivas is a convenient target for blame, as I mentioned." You say, "But I rather think it's a measure of acceptance that we offer, to those who make everyone else uncomfortable." You say, "To women who exercise agency, for example." You wink at Uniana. You say, "Lastly, there is one aspect relevant to the Temple I would mention." Vaikhen turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Rohese walks to stand behind a small podium. You say, "As many of you have heard it before." Rohese smiles at you. You say, "The Order of Ivas in Vipershroud welcomes anyone who braves the boulder and the vipers to visit." You say, "With one exception." Rohese inclines her head. You say, "There must always be consent, between the visitor and the priests." Rohese blushes a rosy pink shade at Mirkk. Vaikhen nods firmly. Rohese nods appreciatively to you. You say, "No one who visits us is allowed to harm one of our Order, nor us them. Well, save for the sacristy for that..." You say, "But that's by choice, too." Vaikhen's face turns slightly pale. Yardie coughs. Yardie coughs. Yardie coughs. Yardie coughs. Speaking wryly to Mirkk, Talinvor says, "You should bring Rohese there." Talinvor nods once at Mirkk. Arenglae gives a sidelong glance at Yardie. Rohese's expression towards Talinvor gives the impression that perhaps a different approach is in order. You whisper aloud, "Don't ask for the salorisa, you'll be fine." You wink at Vaikhen. Rohese tightly exclaims, "And on that note!" Rohese glances sternly at Talinvor. Talinvor grins at Rohese. Vaikhen nods briskly to you! You grin slowly. Missoni clears her throat. Phanna smiles. You nod at Rohese. Kalyrra grins. Rohese smiles at you. You ask, "I know many of you have an audition soon, so I will end there, unless there are any other questions?" Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Yes." You nod at Raelee. (Charna rests her chin on Guarrin's shoulder, carefully watching the reactions of those around her from her place behind the giant.) Speaking to Raelee, you say, "Of course, Magister." Rohese softly concludes, "I am sure you will all join me in thanking our wonderful speaker for sharing his...fascinating insights into Ivas and his faith." Arenglae surreptitiously glances at Alosaka. Rohese glances appraisingly at you. Speaking monotonously to you, Moshari says, "Educational. Thank You." You bow to Rohese. Alosaka nods at Rohese. Lazaryth applauds warmly. Alosaka applauds you. Rohese smiles quietly to herself. Yardie applauds you. Meliyara applauds you. Vaikhen applauds you. Guarrin applauds you politely. Arenglae applauds you politely. Tabubu applauds you. Yukito applauds you. Kalyrra applauds you. Speaking monotonously to Rohese, Moshari says, "This was interesting. Thank you for hosting." Teveriel applauds politely. Akenna applauds you politely. Vaikhen taps a platinum clockwork owl's beak, causing it to whir some gears and produce a "hoot!" sound. Perigourd applauds. Uniana claps her hands. Speaking gratefully to you, Missoni says, "Thank you." Rohese bashfully adds, "I know I, for one, have learned quite a lot about myself!" Rohese wrinkles her nose. Lazaryth says, "Bravo, Brother Kothos." Rohese smiles. Missoni applauds warmly. Kayse applauds you. You say, "Thank you, I know I didn't get to as many of your comments as I would have liked, but Mirkk's hand was as solid as stone." You wink at Mirkk. Speaking to you, Raelee says, "So much of this lecture has focused on 'passion' of the physical type, and relating to other individuals. You indicated my own curiosity as an example of something more cerebral, however..." Vaikhen grins sheepishly at Rohese. Mirkk laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement. Mirkk blinks. Speaking to Lazaryth, you say, "Thank you, my friend." Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "Indeed, thank you very much, Brother Blud, most enlightening." Phanna nods encouragingly at Raelee. Akenna stands up. You gaze admiringly at Rohese. Missoni smiles at Raelee. Mirkk gazes in amusement at you. You nod at Raelee. Speaking to you, Raelee asks, "What focus does your Order and your following put upon fostering other passions of this variety? And their methodologies?" Mirkk walks toward you. Speaking speechlessly to you, Mirkk offers, "Brother Blud, I..." Rohese folds her hands. Speaking to Raelee, you say, "There have been times I've been downright irritated at people dismissing you as cold, in fact." Mirkk blushes and babbles a few incoherent words, looking sincerely flustered. You smile at Mirkk. Rohese smiles quietly to herself. Speaking to Mirkk, you say, "It's all right. You can say it. Your hand feels better." You give Mirkk a little prod between the shoulder blades. Mirkk leans over and whispers, "I learned a lot today. About Her, and myself, and..." Mirkk glances at Rohese. You smile at Mirkk. The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Missoni. Missoni glances around, looking a bit less confident. Lazaryth gazes in amusement at his surroundings. Tabubu's eyes crinkle slightly at the edges. Speaking softly to you, Rohese confides, "That was the first time I have ever felt pangs of jealousy." Teveriel nods understandingly at Uniana. You quietly whisper to Mirkk, "She is the reward and the motivation, my friend." You kiss Rohese tenderly on the cheek. Speaking softly to you, Rohese admits, "It was an uncomfortable feeling." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Uniana looks thoughtfully at Rohese. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "I think he's felt it a few times when I do that." Missoni looks at Rohese with concern. You wink at Rohese. You feel more refreshed. Lazaryth gives a short little hum of surprise. Speaking to Rohese, Lazaryth asks, "Ever, really?" Rohese bites her lip. Speaking to Rohese, Lazaryth asks, "No siblings?" Speaking quietly to you, Meril says, "I will have a question as well, when you are finished with the others." Speaking kindly to you, Uniana muses, "Quite the display. Thank you." Speaking softly to Lazaryth, Rohese says, "An older sibling but I was never envious of her, no." Rohese looks over at Lazaryth and shakes her head. Teveriel politely says, "Thank you to our hosts. I look forward to attending the next one." Rohese smiles at Teveriel. Rohese softly says, "Thank you all for so much for coming." Her hand lowered, Uniana gives a subtle wave. Speaking to Raelee, you say, "I can say that yes, we do tend toward the more physical aspect of passion, though I would dearly love there to be more artistry and intellectual stimulation there, too." Phanna says, "Yes, thank you for the stimulating discussion." Mirkk strides over to stand before Rohese. Guarrin says, "Thank you for hosting." Speaking to Raelee, you say, "If you have suggestions, I would love to host your ideas." Raelee nods slowly to you. Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Perhaps I shall contemplate that, then." You smile at Mirkk. Lazaryth says, "Good afternoon, all." Speaking quietly to you, Alosaka observes, "Doesn't artistry require discipline?" Charna glances between Raelee and yourself. Charna grins crookedly. Speaking softly to Yukito, Rohese says, "I'm glad you could make it." Speaking to Alosaka, you say, "My friend, I think I said that I feel lust does have discipline. It requires a great deal of focus, sometimes, to get what you desire." You grin. Arenglae glances between Alosaka and yourself. Speaking to you, Ordim exclaims, "Thanks for the lesson today Brudda Blood!" Ordim beams! Speaking to you, Alosaka concedes, "Fair enough." You lean against a small podium. You gently brush your raven black hair away from your eyes and, with a deft twist of your wrist, tuck it behind one ear. You smile at Meril. Speaking to you, Arenglae asks, "What of those who are entirely dispassionate?" Speaking to Meril, you say, "My apologies, singer, I did not mean to neglect you." Speaking to you, Meril says, "Ah, I wished to ask whether you have ever spoken with Vishra on matters of faith." Speaking gently to Mirkk, Rohese inquires, "Are you alright now?" Mirkk says, "Ah." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Mirkk says, "There you are." Mirkk walks toward Rohese. Mirkk nods slowly at Rohese. Rohese giggles softly at Mirkk. Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the hand. Talinvor glances between Rohese and Mirkk. Speaking to Arenglae, you ask, "There are indeed many people who are not motivated by lust. But dispassion, despite the word, is not necessarily the opposite of passion, is it?" Speaking to Meril, you say, "I am afraid I have only met Vishra once." Meril nods to you. Speaking to Rohese, Mirkk says, "I had to ... share what I've learned today with Brother Blud." Speaking to Meril, you say, "I managed to win an artifact she wanted." You reach out and touch your aventurine Ivas symbol. Rohese smiles at Mirkk. Speaking to Meril, you say, "And she was wroth with me." You smile. Mirkk grins wryly. Missoni muses, "What is the opposite of passion? Ennui?" You say, "Anyway, for example, the Magister here has a keen interest and desire for knowledge." You nod at Missoni. Alosaka nods at Missoni. Missoni adopts an agreeable expression. Rohese wrinkles her nose. Speaking quietly to Mirkk, Talinvor asks, "What did you learn?" Speaking to you, Arenglae says, "Nay. By definition, it means to not influence by strong emption." Charna says, "Lackluster." Rohese blushes a rosy pink shade at Mirkk. You say, "She does not lack for passion." Speaking to you, Meril says, "She preaches that the popular ideas about Ivas are a blasphemy, and that the goddess is the guardian of innocence." Speaking quietly to Charna, Vaikhen says, "That was an underappreciated quip." Vaikhen smiles broadly. You say, "But she eschews fleshy pleasure for intellectual gain and wisdom. And I find that to be passion's gift to her. And to the rest of us." Charna grins at Vaikhen. Speaking curiously to Mirkk, Talinvor asks, "Lessons then?" Raelee looks thoughtfully at you. You ask, "Perhaps passion is not always emotional, hm?" Mirkk winks at Rohese. Speaking to Rohese, Talinvor asks, "Why the foul look if he's learning?" Talinvor shakes his head at Rohese and clucks his tongue. You ask, "Curiosity is enough motivation by itself, is it not?" Speaking to you, Perigourd asks, "I'm curious how you feel about emotional harm, or emotional distress. Whether engaged with or not, perhaps some would consider themselves harmed by observance of acts that they do not agree with. How does your order feel in regards to such belief?" Speaking to you, Raelee says, "It ought to be." Speaking to you, Mirkk remarks, "Passion is spiritual." You smile at Rohese. Mirkk clears his throat. Speaking tightly to Talinvor, Rohese exclaims, "Because that is my business ... and Mirkk's!" Mirkk says, "Sorry." Perigourd raises an eyebrow in your direction. Mirkk chews on his fingernails. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "You know, the first person I fell in love and lust with was the man who taught me how to do that." You glance at Mirkk. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "I could show you, it's a simple enough technique to master." Mirkk glances between Talinvor and Rohese. Speaking uneasily to you, Rohese asks, "And how did you feel the first time?" Charna slowly says, "'E'ery'un has a' modicum o' passion in them. E'en Pud--uh... the..." She stammers for a moment. "Magister..." She looks like she might have had a brief moment of pain. "It jist isnae somethin' tha' people usually see. Most think o' passion as ah extreme but tha's jist bein' simple an' crass." You smile at Charna. Speaking to Mirkk, Alosaka asks, "Or intellectual, I would hazard. And certainly it can be physical as well. So if passion can be spirtual, physical and intellectual, then perhaps passion is not inherently about any of those things?" Raelee gives a sidelong glance at Charna. Mirkk raises an eyebrow in Alosaka's direction. Missoni nods in agreement at Charna. Speaking to Alosaka, you ask, "Passion is what pushes us to be beyond what we were born, hm?" Rohese takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose. Arenglae surreptitiously glances at Alosaka. Mirkk glances at Rohese. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "The first time? Well..." Guarrin looks thoughtfully at you. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "It depends on which first time you mean." Arenglae studies you closely, pondering some aspect of your self with great consideration. Guarrin holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture. Speaking curiously to Charna, Vaikhen asks, "Is passion not an extreme, of some sort?" You smile at Guarrin. Speaking to Charna, Yardie says, "But isn't the idea of passion one of great strength? I mean, I'm stll learning words, but that's the impression I have always understood." Speaking skeptically to you, Arenglae says, "I suppose." Speaking to you, Alosaka says, "I'm not sure that is the beginning and end of passion." Speaking to Alosaka, Phanna says, "I would certainly say that you have a passion for being 'good' and adhereing to your own ideas of virtue." Charna says, "Nae, it's jist tha' fire wha' fuels life." Speaking quickly to Charna, Vaikhen adds, "Not necessarily in a bad way, I mean." Speaking to Alosaka, Phanna adds, "And ensuring others agree with your idea of virtue." Phanna laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. Vaikhen rubs his chin thoughtfully. Alosaka begins chuckling at Phanna! You grin at Phanna. Vaikhen nods understandingly at Charna. Speaking to Phanna, Alosaka says, "You have not seen me at my most passionate." Speaking to Alosaka, you ask, "What have your experiences with passion been?" Phanna nods graciously at Alosaka. Speaking to Alosaka, you say, "I'm curious." Yardie glances at Alosaka and shivers. Arenglae blinks at Alosaka. Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin says, "I have." You lean against a small podium. Speaking sincerely to you, Alosaka says, "Justice." Guarrin glances at Alosaka and folds his arms over his chest. Speaking firmly to Alosaka, Vaikhen says, "Hear, hear." Vaikhen nods appreciatively at Alosaka. Guarrin says, "And I would not be bragging about it." You glance between Vaikhen and Alosaka. (Alosaka huffs.) You say, "Well." Speaking to you, Meliyara says, "Sha'haisa for the lecture." You say, "As I have noted before." Phanna gazes in amusement at Guarrin. Alosaka says, "Passion can be... a crutch, as Guarrin alludes." Speaking to Rohese, Meliyara says, "And sha'haisa for hosting us all in the library for it." You say, "You all know I have a great appreciation for my home, even past it being my religious sanctuary." Arenglae glances between Alosaka and yourself. Alosaka says, "It does not always bring out the best in us." Speaking amusedly to Alosaka, Phanna asks, "So passion in moderation?" Charna says, "I dunno if'n I'd pair passion an' zealotry, I think mayhap extremes 'er nae really necessary fer all thin's." Speaking to Alosaka, Yardie says, "In many cases, it does bring out the worse." Mirkk nods slowly to you. Guarrin says, "As with most things, it must be tempered in its use." Speaking curtly to Talinvor, Rohese says, "You're good at it." Charna agrees with Guarrin. Speaking tightly to Charna, Vaikhen says, "In my admittedly limited experience, zealotry rarely yields desirable outcomes." You say, "One evening, as we were sitting down to dinner- the Order's meals are a lot of fun, you see, we're terrible to one another-" Charna agrees with Vaikhen. Speaking to Rohese, Talinvor teases, "And you do it so well." Guarrin nods in agreement at Vaikhen. Rohese mutters under her breath. You say, "But that night we were greeted by a vision of the Prelate murdering six of our priestesses in Tamzyrr." Mirkk blinks at you. Vaikhen clenches his jaw. Charna gets a blank look on her face. You say, "And a few nights past that, we were woken by the smell of smoke, and fire building in the Sanctum." Charna's hand trembles. Speaking to Vaikhen, Yardie says, "Explains why you're so calm. But you were angered with the kobolds that day." Mirkk turns an inquisitive ear toward you. Missoni inhales sharply, hissing through her teeth. Guarrin casually glances at Charna. You say, "Her effigy was destroyed." Vaikhen nods slowly at Yardie. Missoni frowns. Speaking quietly to Yardie, Vaikhen says, "And for the same reason the story Brother Blud tells now infuriates me. There was no justice in that, whatsoever." You say, "Ysharra's lilies were burned, one of the last of their kind." (Mirkk rests his chin on Rohese's shoulder as he listens.) Guarrin nods understandingly at Charna. You say, "So yes, not all experiences of passion are lessons you want to learn." Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the cheek. You say, "But you learn them, nevertheless." Mirkk looks thoughtfully at you. Speaking to Vaikhen, Yardie says, "Like I said. I think there are some aspects of cruelty that are universal. There are some lines that should not be crossed." Speaking to Vaikhen, you say, "And through my friendship with you, my friend, I have learned to be not so- if you'll forgive the word play- judgmental." Talinvor put a rectangular ivory glass bottle caged in thin alum branches in his spidersilk pouch. Vaikhen chuckles. Charna releases a slow, low whistle. Vaikhen smiles sadly. Vaikhen nods to you. You say, "After all, the Prelate clearly played upon Ivas's reputation to target her for his own ambition." Speaking politely to Alosaka, Mirkk remarks, "I'm sorry. I wasn't ignoring you earlier. I just needed time to reflect on what you were saying." Yardie glances at you and raises his hand. Alosaka nods appreciatively at Mirkk. You say, "And Koar's order has suffered just as grieviously, and lost as many of His order to Chaston's machinations." Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "A cautionary tale for those that consider themselves the one truth, or source of justice." You smile at Guarrin. Phanna nods graciously at Guarrin. Speaking sincerely to Guarrin, Vaikhen says, "Well said." Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "Always a perspective awaits." Guarrin nods firmly. Speaking to you, Missoni says, "Thank you again." You kiss Missoni on the cheek. You bow to Perigourd. You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs. You say, "...that was a lot of people." Alosaka nods to you. Vaikhen grins from ear to ear. Starletdawn smiles at you. Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "Well done." Kalyrra grins at you. Speaking to you, Alosaka says, "You acquited yourself quite well." Rohese smiles at you. Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "If you're trying to get me to blush, boss man..." Mirkk looks thoughtfully at Rohese. Your cheeks darken with a deep carmine shade. You nod at Guarrin. You say, "Well-done." Speaking to you, Meril asks, "Mm. Have you ever thought that there may be aspects of the goddess that are not known, even to your order?" Speaking softly to you, Rohese praises, "You were exceptional, Brother Blud, thank you." Speaking to Meril, you say, "I certainly hope so." Starletdawn agrees with Rohese. Vaikhen agrees with Rohese. Mirkk agrees with Rohese. Speaking to you, Arenglae says, "I thought you were going to ask Saka uncomfortable questions." You grin at Rohese. Speaking to you, Guarrin reminds, "Guarrin will do." Speaking to Rohese, you say, "Thank you for asking me." Rohese smiles at you. Starletdawn says, "That was fantastic. I feel I've learned a great deal today." Rohese nods in agreement at Starletdawn. Vaikhen smiles at Starletdawn. Speaking to Meril, Charna says, "Kin ye e'er say ye know tha' aspects o' tha' gods? I kin barely un'erstand man." Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "I know, I know. I have a thing about using metaphors as titles, and I don't have one for you." Speaking playfully to you, Mirkk remarks, "But you'll have an easier time putting a saddle on a rolton then to get me up there again." Speaking softly to Starletdawn, Rohese admits, "I learned quite a few uncomfortable things about myself." Vaikhen begins chuckling at Charna! Mirkk winks at you. You smile at Rohese. Rohese giggles softly at Mirkk. Vaikhen laughs at Mirkk! Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "Ah, I see." Speaking to you, Alosaka says, "Sometimes, propriety is the best metaphor." Arenglae nods slowly at Alosaka. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "You know the depth of your commitment, yes. You knew it before, but..." Speaking to Charna, Meril says, "In some ways, they are easier to understand. And in others, not at all." Meril nods slightly at Charna. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "But it's good to be reminded, tacitly." Rohese smiles at you. Starletdawn says, "And perhaps not as uncomfortable anymore." Starletdawn winks at Rohese. Speaking confusedly to Meril, Charna asks, "Why would ye saddle a' rolton. "Er ye tryin' ta' decorate it wit dolls?" You smile at Guarrin. Speaking lightly to you, Rohese says, "I suppose I should thank you." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Mirkk glances at Charna. Speaking thoughtfully to Starletdawn, Rohese says, "Indeed." Speaking to Alosaka, you ask, "Does that mean we can't dance together, anymore?" You gently brush your raven black hair away from your eyes and, with a deft twist of your wrist, tuck it behind one ear. Arenglae glances between Alosaka and yourself. You remove the stopper from your bronze thorn chain and pour a small amount of the liquid into your cupped palm. Replacing the stopper you rub your hands together briefly before briskly patting your neck. Speaking to you, Yardie says, "I do find your view on Ivas interesting." Speaking amusedly to Charna, Rohese interjects, "I asked myself the same question the first time I heard Mirkk say it." You smile at Yardie. Mirkk gazes heavenward. Speaking softly to Charna, Rohese says, "It's the Bourth in him." Mirkk observes, "These sayings make sense in Bourth." Mirkk shrugs. Rohese gazes fondly at Mirkk. Speaking slowly to Rohese, Charna says, "Tha' imagery is both verra funny an' yet.... so strange." Rohese agrees with Charna. Speaking softly to Charna, Rohese says, "It amuses me constantly." Rohese giggles to herself. Mirkk squints. Speaking to you, Xanlin inquires, "Any thoughts on the statue and fresco in the inner sanctum of the temple?" You say, "As I said, it is not monolithic. Lazaryth, for example, finds that I am wanting on the seduction front." Charna says, "All tha' fooff... trapped bah ah belt...." Speaking to you, Yardie says, "I have my...disagreements on matters...but that's because I have seen multiple interpretations of what she offers. And, when she has her eyes on her target...it's terrifying." Mirkk sarcastically says, "Yes...so amusing." Yardie shivers. Charna chuckles. Rohese laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement from Charna. Vaikhen disbelievingly says, "Wanting? I can't imagine the other acolytes, then." Speaking sympathetically to Mirkk, Rohese teases, "My poor Mirkk." Rohese gives Mirkk a lingering kiss on the cheek. Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "Oh, yes. Naturally, they predate my Service there, but I pray before them several times a day, and receive my own pilgrms there, often enough." Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "I have often wondered why she holds a ruby, and why the symbol inside it is a flame." Charna cocks her head at you. Speaking affectionately to Mirkk, Rohese says, "Never stop sharing your colloquialisms with me, they're endearing." Mirkk gazes fondly at Rohese. Speaking slowly to you, Charna asks, "Wha' statue is this?" Talinvor asks, "Seems the sculptor was confused with Eorgina?" Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "I wonder if the original intent was to harken to the myth that She and Eorgina were lovers." Mirkk ponders. Speaking to Charna, you say, "The jade effigy of Ivas within the Vipershroud Sanctum." Guarrin looks thoughtfully at you. Charna chuckles. Speaking amusedly to Rohese, Mirkk remarks, "I'm not sure everyone else appreciates them." Charna says, "Passion o' tha' blood, it's usually represented by flames in ruby." You say, "There's another element of the Temple's layout that often misses notice." Meril says, "Or perhaps the color of a ruby is a symbol of the heart." Speaking softly to Mirkk, Rohese reassures, "That's alright, I'll continue to enjoy them." Talinvor raises an eyebrow in your direction. Xanlin raises an eyebrow in your direction. Speaking softly to Mirkk, Rohese suggests, "If we're quick, we can grab a seat before the hall fills up again." You say, "The layout is meant to emulate a woman's anatomy." Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "Interesting. I have not heard such, but I suppose it is far from the strangest tale." Vaikhen blinks. You say, "And the Sanctum is just so placed." Rohese glances askance at you. Charna gets a blank look on her face. Vaikhen flushes slightly, some color reaching his cheeks. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "I decided not to include that in the official lecture." Mirkk nods at Rohese. Talinvor gives a sidelong glance at Rohese. Rohese laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement from you. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "I didn't want to make you catch fire." Speaking to you, Yardie says, "Isn't Ivas andro.....andro...." You grin. Vaikhen appears to be trying hard not to grin. Speaking to you, Xanlin asks, "What of the fresco though?" Speaking appreciatively to you, Rohese exclaims, "Thank you for sparing me that!" You snicker at Rohese. Phanna gazes in amusement at Rohese. Guarrin raises an eyebrow in Charna's direction. Speaking to Rohese, you say, "I do have some measure of care for you, my friend. I know you find some of my expressions a bit much." Rohese gazes fondly at you. You say, "And Xanthium is always reminding me that cloister has made me scandalous." You turn to face Xanlin. Mirkk gazes admiringly at you. Speaking softly to Phanna, Rohese exclaims, "Can you imagine the uproar if the Loremaster spontaneously combusted in her own library!" Rohese clutches her chest in mock horror. Speaking to Yardie, Vaikhen suggests, "Androgynous?" Phanna laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. Starletdawn gives you a lingering kiss, first on one cheek, then the other. Yardie points at Vaikhen. Mirkk laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement from Rohese. Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "It's also older than me, but I find it much like the rest, a call to be aware, that not all of what you learn and grow will be good and positive." You smile at Starletdawn. Speaking playfully to Rohese, Mirkk says, "Please don't. I still have need of you." Mirkk winks at Rohese. Speaking sheepishly to Yardie, Vaikhen admits, "I was unaware of that, if so. I must say ... I've spent little time studying the Pantheon of Lornon." Speaking to Rohese, Starletdawn says, "Thank you for hosting another fantastic lecture, Loremaster. This has been a delight." Rohese giggles softly at Mirkk. You reach over and gently rest your hand on Starletdawn's arm. Rohese affectionately says, "You are most welcome." Rohese gives Starletdawn a lingering kiss on the cheek. Starletdawn smiles at you. Rohese bites her lip. Mirkk hums happily to himself. You wink at Starletdawn. You smile. Starletdawn flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks. Alosaka nods appreciatively to you. Speaking to you, Alosaka says, "Thank you for the insightful lecture, Kothos." Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "I think of that fresco when I recall the deaths of my fellow priestesses in Tamzyrr, in fact." Speaking to you, Arenglae says, "It was an interesting lecture, Ser." You say, "I don't think that the Arkati are necessarily male or female, in that sense, truly." Speaking to Alosaka, you say, "Thank you for coming, and being patient with me." Alosaka grins at you. Speaking to Alosaka, you say, "I know you and I rarely agree." You grin at Alosaka. Speaking to you, Alosaka says, "Ah, but that does not mean we must be disagreeable." Rohese bites her lip. Rohese closes her eyes for a moment. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement from Alosaka. Faerinn says, "I've heard that the incubus and the succubus are basically the same spirit adapting for its next meal." Vaikhen smiles at Alosaka. You nod at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, Yardie says, "Ahh Faerinn. How I've missed you." Mirkk chortles softly at some secret joke. Guarrin says, "I should be going as well. Thank you for the discussion, Kothos." Alosaka bows respectfully, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground. Mirkk glances around the room. Speaking quietly to Yardie, you say, "I have been fortunate enough to behold Ivas in my dreams." You bow to Guarrin. Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "I find it strange that such a display would be placed in the lap of Ivas if it were some sort of warning. Placing it there seems to imply approval of what they are doing there." Guarrin faces you and smartly brings his right fist up to his chest. Holding it there, he bows deeply. Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "Thank you, my friend." Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "We should discuss it further, soon." Speaking to Rohese, Guarrin says, "And again, thank you for hosting. I wish duty did not keep me away from attending more often." Rohese smiles at Guarrin. (Rohese covers Guarrin'ss hand with both of her own.) Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "I don't think that it's meant to be a warning in that sense. They need to know that often, truth is painful, lust is extreme, and the intensity is often humbling or burning." Speaking softly to Guarrin, Rohese says, "I hope to see you again." Guarrin nods once. Speaking to Yardie, you say, "In any case, She did not present herself as either male or female, but as a shower of steam and rain." Speaking to you, Yardie says, "The wisps." Phanna says, "Thank you for hosting such a lively discussion. I enjoyed hearing all of it." Speaking to Yardie, you say, "I assume She took the form of what I find sacred in the swamp- the heat, the water, its great beauty." Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "I'm not sure what lust has to do with that fresco, though." Speaking pleasantly to you, Mirkk says, "Brother Blud. Thank you. Always a pleasure seeing you." Speaking to you, Raelee says, "... it has been interesting as always." Raelee nods to you. Speaking to Xanlin, you say, "I have questions of my own, about that, and about some of the mythology that comes from the Empire, too." You grin at Mirkk. Speaking to Rohese, Raelee says, "Until next time." Rohese smiles at Raelee. Rohese nods respectfully at Raelee. Speaking to Mirkk, you say, "Thank you, Mirkk. I am very grateful for your sacrifice." You wink at Mirkk. Raelee glances around the room. Raelee nods faintly. Mirkk laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement. You kiss Rohese tenderly on the wrist. Vaikhen whispers something to Kalyrra. Mirkk nods quickly to you! Rohese demurely lowers her misty grey eyes. You say, "Good luck, my friends." Speaking sincerely to you, Vaikhen says, "Thank you for speaking today. I do have questions for you, but I won't keep you. Let's talk again some time." Speaking to you, Yardie says, "I also have questions for you, but another time." Grand Lord Talinvor's group just went through a wide archway. You smile at Vaikhen. You feel more refreshed. Mirkk forces a grin at you and laughs nervously. Vaikhen smiles warmly. Speaking to you, Yardie asks, "My regards to Xanthium, please?" Xanlin grins at you and tosses a fluffy marshmallow your way! You manage to catch the marshmallow in your mouth, but technique and grace had nothing to do with it. Coated with powdered sugar, the marshmallow provides a sweet, chewy treat. Speaking to Kalyrra, you say, "He's always so polite." Kalyrra grins at you. Kalyrra agrees with you. Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "Thank you for the lecture." Speaking quietly to you, Kalyrra says, "Part of his charm." Meril takes a drink from her ice cold lemonade. Vaikhen glances between Kalyrra and yourself. Vaikhen clears his throat. Meril put a quilted maroon toy rolton in her wild silk cloak. Meril stands up. Mirkk glances at Meril. Speaking quietly to Yardie, you say, "Of course. I'll tell her next I see her, when I'm going over this fresco again." You say, "So I'll be prepared for Xanlin's questions next time." You grin. Xanlin's shoulders shake subtly as he struggles to compose his features, revealing a glimmer of mirth before returning to a poker face. You wink at Xanlin. Vaikhen bows respectfully, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground. Vaikhen waves. Speaking to you, Yardie says, "Please do. She may be needed on the isle. People are having trouble sleeping." You bow to Vaikhen. You kiss Kalyrra tenderly on the cheek. Ambassador Vaikhen just went through a wide archway. Kalyrra grins at you. Speaking to Yardie, you say, "She always has trouble with that, yes..." Speaking to you, Xanlin says, "Likely not an answer suited to the venue." You say, "The apparition is relentless." Yardie raises an eyebrow in your direction. Speaking to you, Yardie says, "Let her know my offer to help stands." You say, "But I should take my leave, so I can have a bit of a break before the next." You say, "Good bye for now, my friends." You say, "And thank you all again." Rohese smiles at you. Yardie nods to you. You smile at Kalyrra. You kiss Rohese tenderly on the wrist. You wink at Mirkk. Rohese demurely lowers her misty grey eyes. Kalyrra grins at you. Mirkk grins nervously.
