The popcorn Kettle is a fluff crafting script that applies to miscellaneous items. It was originally released at Ebon Gate 2024. The following facets are able to be customized by a merchant: container design. Creates bags or buckets of edible popcorn from ears of corn, with optional flavorings, butter, and salt. Customization options are unlocked a la carte by certificate.

Analyze

You analyze the popcorn kettle and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
        --Popcorn Kettle--
  This popcorn kettle is an item that can create bags or buckets of edible popcorn.
  This is a Basic popcorn kettle, which requires ears of corn, as well as golden wands or fire magic to work.
  Food, foraged items, tea/coffee flavorings, and other items can be added to the kettle during the creation process to infuse extra flavoring into the finished product. You can only add up to two (2) of these extra flavorings, but they are not required.
  These extra flavorings will also affect the color of the resulting kernels.
  You can also optionally add melted butter and/or salt.
  Paper bags made with the Paper Maker can be added to the popcorn kettle to be used in the next batch of popcorn.
    ==Alteration Guidelines==
  * Alterations to the 15/15/15 and long description are fine, though this kettle cannot take a show.
  * The noun must remain "kettle" with the word popcorn preceding it in the adjective field.
  * The kettle must be made primarily of metal.
  * Custom Container alterations can be done by any willing merchant. Bag containers must be a paper/parchment material and have an appropriate noun for a bag. Bucket containers must be wood or metal and have an appropriate noun for an open-topped solid container.
    NOTE: You need to provide a max 15-character article (IE 'a bag of'), a material/noun that gets used in the popcorn's messaging (IE 'paper bag'), the part of the description leading up to the noun (IE 'a bag of <adjective> <noun>'), and and words after the noun (IE 'crafted from red and white striped paper').
    ==Features==
As a Basic popcorn kettle, you have access to the following verbs: DROP/PUT (add ingredients), FLIP (change adjective of created popcorn), CLEAN (reset settings), PINCH (change between bag or bucket container), PUSH (create popcorn), ROLL (change cooking level), NUDGE (change popcorn effect), TWIST (change popcorn after-noun description), SLAP (toggle between popcorn or container description), WAVE (change container design), GAZE (view current custom container designs).
  INSPECTing the kettle will provide you a wealth of information on the current state the popcorn is in.
  WHISPERing to the kettle with an item in your other hand can send a copy of that item to the proper authorities if the kettle isn't properly accepting something as an ingredient.
  Popcorn created by this popcorn kettle will have the ability to be turned into Weaveable Items.

You get no sense of whether or not the kettle may be further lightened.

Usage Information

A portable kettle must be PLACEd at your feet before it can be used. Each unlock below is applied separately by certificate. To apply a certificate, hold it in one hand with the kettle at your feet, then RAISE the certificate.

Verb First Third
COVER You slide open the panel blocking the reservoir of salt above the edge of the popcorn kettle, making sure the contents can flow over the created popcorn again. -
PEDAL Grasping a multihued knob sticking out of the very top of the popcorn kettle, you twist it several times until it clicks into place. You are sure the color of the popcorn will appear as "white". -

TILT You twist open the nozzle of the tiny melted butter reservoir above the edge of the popcorn kettle, ensuring the contents will flow freely over the created popcorn. -
TURN You turn a knob at the base of the popcorn kettle, changing the type of popcorn to "kettle corn". You are sure the resulting kernels, when thoroughly popped, will remain the color white. -

Additional Information

The kernels will have different colors depending on the ingredients added. The popcorn itself also has some fun verbs. EAT can be targeted, so you can stare at someone or something while eating popcorn. You can also TOSS it, either to try to get it into your mouth (if you target yourself) or to throw it at someone or something. The default designs are "a bag of <adjective> <popcorn>" and "a bucket of <adjective> <popcorn>". The containers in their messaging are "paper bag" and "wooden bucket", respectively.

Custom designs work much like Bottletraption designs: the long description of a bag or bucket only needs placeholders for the adjective and the noun, for example "a rainbow-hued paper bag of <adjective> <popcorn noun> decorated with dancing unicorns". With the Long Description unlock, you can toggle the part after the noun to describe the popcorn inside instead of the bag.

Restrictions

  • The noun must remain "kettle", with the word "popcorn" before it in the adjective field.
  • The kettle must be made primarily of metal.
  • The kettle cannot take a show.
  • Custom bag containers must be made of paper or parchment and use a noun appropriate for a bag. Custom bucket containers must be made of wood or metal and use a noun appropriate for an open-topped solid container.

Look/Show

Essentially a large pot with slightly slanted sides, the popcorn kettle looks well-made and extremely complex. Several compartments encircle it on every side to hold various ingredients, while a cast iron plate runs along its base. The top of the kettle has a loosely fitting lid with a curved spout running over one side where the freshly popped kernels are likely meant to drop out of the mechanism.
