Quintus Faendryl

Quintus Faendryl is a Basilican praetorian guard in the entourage of Ambassador Vespasius Koryth Faendryl. He was sent to the Darkstone Bay region at the beginning of 5126 Modern Era, along with several others, to provide protection for the investigators into the shadowy Ithzir invasions and the lost Palestra Blade Aralyte Halanori Faendryl. Quintus is from the urban middle class. He is an absolute monarchist and Faendryl nationalist.
Quintus holds a partial isolationist view of foreign policy. He is a non-expansionist integral nationalist, eschewing empire building in the West. He is not interested in an abstract universalist imposition of Elven or Faendryl culture on others. However, he views colonial imperialism as a distraction, diverting from revanchism against House Nalfein. Quintus thinks House Nalfein should have been destroyed in the Sea Elf War, and that proxy struggles with them elsewhere is a losing game. He sees no point in caring about lost territory of the Empire until enemies in other Houses are ended.

I am not sure what people mean exactly when they say it. But I do not think they actually know what they mean by it, either." Dhe'nar Quintus says, "The Dhe'nar have some weird ideas that are obviously wrong. But the ones who knock it off with the preaching are better than most people in the East." Evashir Quintus says, "Evashir is nothing more than an errant province and not a real country." Maelshyve Quintus says, "The ruins of Maelshyve are an endless threat. They would have been even without our tearing the Veil. The Illistim are hypocrites, anyway, look what they did to the Aelotoi. All they gave them for that was some abandoned village." Nalfein Quintus says, "I admit I do not see much point in trying to rebuild the Empire. It is impossible as long as House Nalfein exists. We should just get on with ending the real problem. In the end it is them or us." He hastens to add, "But do not tell Vespasius. That man was born in the wrong era of history." Patriarch Quintus says, "Korvath Dardanus is the greatest Faendryl of our age, we are fortunate to be able to live in the same time as him." Turamzzyr Quintus says, "They should get their ships out of our waters. Honestly, who thought that was a good idea? Everyone knows we conquered all of that in the Sea Elf War."
