The inaugural S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W. Conference occurred in Evermore Hollow Hotel on 10/4/2024. 10 invitations could be found around Elanthia, while 20 could be purchased for attendees.
The S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W. Conference returned to the Evermore Hollow Hotel in 2025. However, it appears to have been double booked with P.A.W.S., a symposium for pet-lovers.
2025 Conference Items
Luggage Tag
an embossed leather luggage tag Fashioned of glossy leather, the small tag is ebon and embossed with the image of a multi-story structure crowned in gables. Long suede ties drape from the rectangular piece, though the back has additional embossing. Blocky letters spell "S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W." across the top, while below they state "Evermore Hollow Hotel."
Analyze:
CONGRATULATIONS! An embossed leather luggage tag is an item from Naidem that has found its way to Elanith. When you INSPECT the tag, it will handle your reservation for the upcoming conference at the Evermore Hollow Hotel in Naidem on on Jastatos 10th - 12th, 5125.
Storage Trunk

Its appearance is the same as the 2024 Storage Trunk. When opening the trunk the first time, an invitation is given to the owner, identifying the SPECTRE and SHADOW Conference as the event. This is true no matter which invitation is received.
A long skeletal arm rises out of the trunk, a violet-washed ebon vellum invitation pinched in its bony fingers. It hands the invitation to you as a booming voice echoes through the area, "You are cordially invited to the S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W. Conference taking place at Evermore Hollow Hotel in Naidem. We look forward to meeting you and have arranged a room for your stay. You will be notified shortly with greater details about the event, as well as a package with your key." As the voice fades, you find yourself holding the invitation.
Invitation
Two different invitations, which are delivered from inside the trunk after inspecting the luggage tag, went out for the event. One identified the event as being the second SPECTRE and SHADOW Convention and was signed by Hotel Manager Blodeuyn Mourningveil, while the other identified it as PAWS, a celebration of pets, and was signed by Hotel Maid Elaarah Thistledown.

Welcome Package & Contents
As with invitations, two different versions of the welcome packages went out. The notecard and key are identical in both package, however the package itself and its other contents differ depending on which event is identified.

Welcome notecard:
a violet-washed ebon vellum notecard Textured, weighted, and of fine quality, the ebon vellum notecard has a subtle violet sheen on it that is visible only when it is caught in the ambient light. Across the top, intricate silver foil is etched with the image of an ancient, ten-story hotel that stands in a cobblestone town featuring flowing canals and warm lanterns. Ravens decorate the gables of nearby rooftops, while the grounds of the hotel are surrounded by lush foliage. There appears to be something written on it. In the Common language, it reads: ~*~ Greetings and Salutations ~*~ We look forward to your upcoming stay with us. Enclosed you will find a gift from the staff for your stay as well as your hotel key. Your key has your hotel assignment on it and a quick ANALYZE of its workmanship will aid you with further details. Your invitation to the conference should have been stored in your luggage. Evermore Hotel key:
a verdigris copper hotel key Perched upon a spindled shank with six knobs, the bow of the key is decoratively designed to resemble a vacant-eyed skull wreathed in marigolds. A patina of verdigris lightens the copper, turning it whitish green in places and offering a bit of texture to the round blossoms. Etched into the space above the collar is a short script, while below the ward is cut with a series of crescent shapes. There appears to be something written on it. In the Common language, it reads: Evermore Hollow Hotel

Welcome package:
a yarn-tied river naiquard package emblazoned with an Evermore Hollow Hotel sigil A yarn-tied river naiquard package emblazoned with an Evermore Hollow Hotel sigil is a parcel meant for sending items to other adventurers. It is addressed to Alisaire from Blodeuyn. Affixed to the front is a violet-backed ebon raven stamp marking the package as a piece of mail, but the stamp appears to have been used already.
Event entry item:
a cluster of hemp-tied coffin nails Bundled together and bound by hemp, the square-cut, unfinished nails have a blackened and flat head. Corrosion is prevalent from the top to the rounded end, though a small inscription is clearly visible along the flat sides of each. A yellowed wren skull is tied to the bundle, the black hemp used to hold it in place traversing both sclerotic rings. There appears to be something written on it. In the Common language, it reads: SPECTRE and SHADOW Conference at Evermore Hollow Hotel You analyze the coffin nails and sense that the creator has provided the following information: A cluster of hemp-tied coffin nails will grant you access to all of the SPECTRE and SHADOW Conference locations within the Evermore Hollow Hotel. You must have it with you for all meals, merchant sessions, lectures, and the ball. You get no sense of whether or not the nails may be further lightened.

It is addressed to Missoni from Elaahra. Affixed to the front is a small light pink stamp marking the package as a piece of mail, but the stamp appears to have been used already.
Event entry item:
a rag-stitched charcoal grey felt mouse toy Frayed seams run along the toy's patchwork body, its stuffing pressing through in uneven tufts. Button eyes glimmer faintly above crooked whiskers stitched into the snout, and one ear droops as if chewed. The grey fabric is worn soft, yet a faint green thread zigzags across its belly, giving it a ghoulishly playful look. There appears to be something written on it. 2024 Conference Items
Envelope
a gold-inked ebon vellum envelope Textured vellum, tidily fold over, is dyed ebon and decorated with golden ink that forms whorls and swirls within the corners of the the envelope. The embossed image of a gabled building rests at the center of the envelope's face, while the back is fitted with violet-sheened nacreous wax.
Luggage Tag
an embossed leather luggage tag CONGRATULATIONS! An embossed leather luggage tag is an item from Naidem that has found its way to Elanith. You release it immediately and watch as it flutters to the ground. Violet, azure, celadon, and coral light swirl around the tag as it slowly transforms into storage trunk. Storage Trunk

a copper-cornered black storage trunk Round copper corners are attached to the lid and base of the oversized trunk and held in place by tiny brass screws. Rawhide handles, worn and soft, are anchored to the short sides, allowing the piece to be lifted or pulled with relative ease. Ebon paint decorates the sides creating a uniform finish, though scuff marks along the lower half subtly mar the appearance. A black leather storage tag hangs from the lock mechanism, its face embossed with a hotel surrounded by ravens. You carefully inspect a copper-cornered black storage trunk. You estimate that a copper-cornered black storage trunk can store a fairly large amount (50-59 lbs) with enough space for any number of items. You determine that you could not wear the trunk. It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of wood, an extremely common material.

a textured ebon papyrus parchment Crafted of textured papyrus, the parchment is decorated with silver and gold filigree in each of its corners. Crimson and saffron marigolds rest within the filigree, the bright blossoms adding a touch of autumn hues to the otherwise dark parchment. Crisp, tidy letters fill the center. In the Common language, it reads: Greetings and Salutations from the Evermore Hollow Hotel! We are excited about your stay with us, and have put together a small welcome package. Please make sure to read this letter in its entirety as it has important information regarding your attendance of the S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W. Conference. Enclosed you will find your hotel key. When traveling from the lobby to your suite, you must GIVE this key to our clockwork platform operator. This will enable him to better ferry you to your suite. We have also included a bundle of coffin nails. This bundle provides you access to the Ballroom, Dining Room, and Library where the bulk of the conference will take place. Without it, you won't be able to get into these rooms. Since the hotel is aware that many of our guests are from the realms of the living, we've also enclosed a mask for you. This will ensure that you are kept safe during your stay and that the Unliving around you, who are not as forgiving as we are, don't recognize you. Upon arriving at the hotel, please head to the main lobby and through the FEL DOOR. The Welcome Reception will take place in the library. Our maid, Elaarah, will be there, along with other members of our staff, to greet you as you arrive. Elaarah will take groups of guests up to the suites and guide you to your rooms. In the center, a raised skull is embossed, showcasing intricate details -- hollow eyes and a faint grin etched in fine relief. On the back, elegant calligraphy flows in graceful, black inked strokes. The dark, flowing script contrasts with the pale vellum, each letter slightly raised, adding a subtle tactile sensation to the refined design. There appears to be something written on it.
