The shield harness is a fluffy script that also allows you to carry a weapon within the straps on the shield. It is sometimes known as a "pocketed shield." This was released in 2003 at the Revel of the Anfelt by GameMaster Khaladon. It was updated on February 11, 2021 by expanding the number of tiers, customization, and functionality by GameMasters Thandiwe and Lanandriel. It is currently being sold in Bloodriven Village's Get Thee Behind Me.

Tier 1

Analyze

You get a strong sense that the shield can be altered by any merchant as long as the harness remains in place.

This shield is currently Tier 1 of 2, with access to Rub*, Turn, Cower, and Batter.

*This verb loosens straps to allow access to a stored weapon and will also, if loose, tighten to secure the weapon.

The size of the weapon that can be stored in the shield's harness is dependent on the size of the shield.

Additional Information

Original Analyze

The shield harness was updated on 2/11/2021 to add a tier with more verbs and customization. Below is the ANALYZE from before that change.

You analyze your spiked golvern buckler and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
You get a strong sense that the buckler can be altered by any merchant as long as the harness" remains in place.

Currently you are able to use DROP, RUB (Get Weapon), TURN, COWER, and PUNCH/KILL/SLAP/BATTER on the spiked golvern buckler. The size of the weapon that can be stored in the buckler's harness is dependent on the size of the shield.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the spiked golvern buckler for you.

Show

Shield harnesses have a hard-coded show as part of their design. They may still be altered but must maintain the harness in the alteration.

On the reverse of the buckler, a complex webbing of oiled leather straps and polished buckles forms an intricate arm harness. The straps are arranged in a pattern that appears able to secure a weapon within.
Stuck diagonally through the complex webbing is an ivory-hilted etched rolaren dagger.
